IWAM: The Shipping Chronicles
Becoming A Princess's Love
Author's Note
This story is now put into IWAM: The Shipping Chronicles, due to me not liking how it turned out as a separate story, I decided to make one full story with all the chapters combined and now with a heavy amount of editing, this is a much better version. But still not that great of a story. Hope you enjoy.
Not an actual sequel to "It Was A Misunderstanding".
Edit: This story is so horribly written...I suggest going to the next one after this. Turns out I'm not good at writing Flashlight.
Becoming A Princess's Love
Becoming A Princess's Guard
"Flash Sentry! Please, report to the Throne Room immediately!" Shining Armor shouted from the overhead speakers in the corner of Flash Sentry's room.
Flash Sentry was still in bed during that time and hearing his boss's voice was totally not a good way to wake up. He climbed out of bed and brushed his mane and got his armor on. He keep thinking about what Shining Armor would want him at 8:00 in the morning, when he usually wakes up at 9:00 a.m. He fixed his bed and left his room.
"What did I do?" He muttered to himself as he walked down the hallway to the throne room.
When he approached the throne room doors, he knocked on them first obviously, then getting permission to get inside. He saw Shining Armor beside Princess Cadence's empty throne.
Shining Armor smiled. "Ah, Flash Sentry, one of my most trusted guard, good to see you, old pal."
"Good Morning, sir," Flash saluted to his captain until he was excused. "May I ask sir, what did I do wrong? If you think I broke into the pantry last night, I didn't because that was actually Gobblehoof's fault."
"No, you didn't do anything wrong, you've been just assigned to be a Princess's personal guard. And Gobblehoof was the one who took my pudding?"
"And what Princess may that be?" Flash asked, ignoring his Captain's comment about his pudding.
"My Sister, Twily. I'm sure you two already met before." Shining Armor winked at Flash, like he knew something about him and Twilight.
"Oh, yeah...Twilight..." Flash said, a goofy grin spread across his face as he started to blush a bit from ruminating thoughtfully for a bit about sweet Princess Twilight.
"So, we've planned you to be Twilight's Personal Guard," Shining Armor said, interrupting Flash's thoughts. "Since, she's mostly all alone in her castle only with Spike, and she has no one to guard her or the castle."
"Wait, what do you mean we?" Flash asked.
"Oh, just nothing...just get to the train station. She'll be waiting at the train station in Ponyville for you, so, don't keep her waiting."
"Alright, Sir." He saluted and then went off to get ready.
"Oh, and Flash."
"Yes, Sir?" Flash answered, looking back at Shining Armor.
"If you hurt my sister or if anything were to happen to her; there will be consequences, understood." He explained in a dark tone.
"Understood, Sir. I'll make sure nothing bad happens."
"Good, now go get ready."
Once Flash left, Shining Armor let out a long sigh and looked behind the throne. "Can you please leave now? I did what you and my wife told me to do."
"Well, Shiny," Discord huffed. "I'm GLAD I could HELP your sister be happy."
"Don't call me Shiny! I've seen you've changed. Was it because your now Fluttershy's coltfriend?"
"Well, actually, I'm her Draconequusfriend, I'm not pony, so I can't be called a 'coltfriend', and of course it was! And you'll have to excuse me, I actually have to go work on something for her...so, bye bye."
~~~~~
Meanwhile at the Ponyville Train Station, Twilight couldn't stand still from her excitement."Oh, Spike. I'm so excited to have my very own personal guard!"
"Is it because you have a crush on your own guard?" Spike said with a cheeky smile.
"What!? I do not have crush on Flash!" Twilight exclaimed, with a bit of red at her cheeks now.
"Oh, sure," Spike sarcastically said, rolling his eyes. "Then, why were you blushing every single time you bumped into him? I know blushing when I see it, just like how your blushing right now."
"What!? I'm not blushing, I was just...it's just very hot today."
"Yeah, sure it is," Spike gasped."Isn't that Flash over there?"
Twilight jerked her head in the direction where Spike pointed at. "Where! Where!"
"Ha-ha! Fooled you. But, seriously see what I mean, you totally have a crush on Flash."
"Alright, fine I like Flash..."
"A teensy bit louder please."
"I said I like-"
CHOO-CHOO SHREEESH
Twilight got interrupted thankfully by the extremely irritating Crystal Empire train that had just arrived in with a loud screech as stopped at the station, smoke emerged and ponies stepped out out of the train one by one, but Twilight couldn't see Flash, "Where is he?" Twilight kept saying in her head. Not until the last pony came off the train, Twilight gave up looking, "Maybe he's on the next train." She sighed.
"Hey, you! Get out of the corner!" One of the train conductors shouted.
Twilight turned her head toward the open doors of the train, Flash walked out slowly, only to be met by a blushing Twilight staring at him shyly, then soon he found himself staring at her blushing as well. "She's as beautiful as I remembered." Flash said in his mind. While Twilight in her mind said the same thing but the way around.
Spike rolled his eyes. "Ughh, Hey! Wake up, lovebirds."
The sudden voice from Spike brought the two ponies back into reality. "Oh, forgive me your H-Highness for my rudeness." Flash said, greeting Twilight with a formal bow.
"Oh, please Flash, you don't have to bow down to me." She replied sheepishly.
"You know my name?"
"Of course I do, Princess Cadence told me, but you can just call me Twilight."
"Alright, Twilight...may I escort you to your castle?" Flash said, extending his hoof out.
"You certainly may." Twilight replied, happily taking his hoof.
During the whole walk back to the Friendship Castle, Flash and Twilight actually had their first conversation to each other for the first time, Flash told Twilight what's been happening at the Crystal Empire while she was gone.
"So, let me get this straight, somepony took my brother's pudding. Oh, they're going to be regretting that."
"And why is that?"
"Shiny loves his pudding, he doesn't let anypony touch it, if they do; he punishes them."
Meanwhile, back at the Crystal Castle, Shining Armor had a fat pony guard pinned to the wall. "Why did you eat my pudding, Gobblehoof!?"
"Because sharing is caring and I was hungry."
"Seven days working in dungeon duty for you."
"I hate dungeon duty! And It was just pudding!" Gobblehoof whined.
"It was my pudding." he sneered.
"So, anything else interesting happen at the Crystal Empire?" Twilight asked.
"Actually no, business has been slow, a few royals from Saddle Arabia come to visit and that's pretty much it, anything interesting happened in Ponyville?"
Twilight chuckled."You would be surprised what happens here weekly."
A few minutes later they arrived at the Friendship Castle. Twilight opened the crystal doors with her magic. "So, here we are Castle Sweet Castle."
"Wow, It's so big...and empty, so, which room is the armory and Guard's room?"
"You can choose any room for that, literally, I have too many rooms." her voice echoed throughout the hallway as she said that.
"Oh, alright. So, which door is yours?"
"My room is just down the left hallway from the foyer, and it's the fourth room down, Spike's room is just next to mine. Would you care for a tour?" Twilight asked.
"I'd be honored to have a tour of your castle."
"Ok, let's go down that hallway," Flash and Twilight decided to walked down the east wing of the castle. "And that room over is the throne room, me and my friends spend most of our time in there...well, mostly me when I'm trying to convince the map to take me somewhere."
"You're trying to convince a map to take you somewhere?"
"It's a long story." Twilight smiled sheepishly.
~~~~~
That night, after an slightly 'awkward' tour around the castle. Flash stayed up guarding the hallway where Twilight sleeps, until around midnight he heard a window being smashed in the foyer, he ran from post and checked where the window was smashed, the window was smashed inward by a rock, muddy hooveprints were on the floor, which led Flash to suspect that there was a burglar had broken into Twilght's castle.
"Sweet Celestia! It's my first night of guarding Twilight's castle and then somepony just happens to break in!"
A thought came to mind when Flash remembered this was Twilight's castle; "If I catch the burglar, Twilight may fall in love with me or be even impressed!"
After a few minutes, Flash finished planning out a plan and he went to find the burglar. He followed the hooveprints to where the led up to Twilight's Treasure room, where he saw a bulky shadowy figure in the dim light of the room, stuffing bits into a sack.
"Freeze Intruder!" Flash exclaimed.
The robber froze from the sudden voice behind him and put his hooves in the air. "Your under arrest for breaking into a Princess's castle and trying to steal their treasure."
"You'll have to catch me first." The robber replied.
The thief threw his bag of bits at Flash and ran for it. Flash winced in pain from the blow. "Ow..assault on a guard is a felony too!...ow."
The chase ran on for the rest of the night, Flash and the intruder chased each other all night, until it ended in the morning. Twilight awoke from her slumber and went to say good morning to Flash.
"Good morning, Flash." She yawned. "Anything interesting happen last night...no really what happened!"
She woke up all the way from seeing what a mess her castle was from Flash's big chase from last night."Oh, good morning, Twilight, excuse the mess. Do you mind me asking if you have a dungeon?"
"What happened last night, Flash!?" Twilight exclaimed angrily.
Flash jumped from the sudden anger in Twilight voice. "Don't worry, I just did some guard work." He smiled proudly, as he moved out of the way to reveal the burglar from last night tied up in the corner unconscious.
Becoming A Princess's Plan
"I was just guarding last night minding my own business and then I heard something crash, I went to take a look and I investigated the crime scene and then I find this guy in the treasure room stealing gold."
Twilight looked the thief closely and then remembered a wanted poster with the description that matched the intruder; Dirty-Yellow fur, green eyes, a scar on the left of his face and a ruffled brown mane.
Twilight gasped. "Oh my gosh! That's guy's name is Gold Loot! He's the first 'not overpowering criminal' Ponyville ever had! He's been robbing stores since last week and seems like last night he tried to score bigger by stealing my treasures, likely he didn't know I got a handsome new guard protecting my castle."
"And I wouldn't of gotten away with too, if it weren't for your meddling guard!" A newly conscious Gold Loot hissed.
"Just send him over to Ponyville's new jail that's on the other side of town."
"Alright, Twilight." Flash nodded.
Twilight smiled sweetly and then turned to leave, right before she left. "Oh, and Flash."
"Yes?"
"Thank you...sorry I jumped to conclusions." She ran up to him and nuzzled him.
"It's ok and you're w-welcome." Flash said, blushing.
After she pulled away from the nuzzle, blushing still. "I'm just going out to see my friends, I'll be back in a hour. Bye, Flash."
"Bye...Twilight."
A long silence took place for a few minutes as Flash trying to comprehend what had happened. "She nuzzled me, She nuzzled me!"
"Good for you, lover boy. I don't care, just send me jail already." Gold Loot uttered in annoyance.
~~~~~
Twilight went to the café to meet up with her friends to catch up on things due them being busy all the time.
"Twilight? Where have you been, your thirty minutes late." Fluttershy asked curiously.
"I almost got robbed last night, but I'm fine...because of him." Twilight sighed dreamily.
"Who's him?" Rainbow Dash asked, glancing up from her menu.
"Flash..."
"Your crush from the Crystal Empire! Please, tell us more!" Rarity begged, but she said it a bit too loud that ponies from other tables look up at her from their menus. "Sorry, my bad." Rarity apologized in embarrassment.
"Oh, Flash is my new personal guard."
"Since when did you get a personal guard?"
"Just yesterday and he's still as handsome as ever."
"It's so cute that you found a special some-pony!" Pinkie Pie adding her coin to the conversation.
"Oh, I wish he was."
"Why don't we make him your coltfriend."
"I don't want to force him to love me."
"It's not actually forcing them if you already know they love you, darling." Rarity inquired.
"Wait...he likes me?"
The Mane 6 excluding Twilight bust out laughing. "What's so funny?"
"Don't tell me you don't know that he likes you, it's painfully obvious! Didn't you see him glance at you right before he left on the train when Princess Cadence came to visit."
"Well, yeah...But does that really mean anything?"
"Of course it does, darling!
"So, he likes me and I like him, how come we're not dating already?"
"I don't know why, darling. But we'll help you start dating."
"And how are you going to that?"
"We can set up a date for you."
"Isn't the stallion suppose to set up the date?" Twilight asked.
"Well, then we'll make him set that the date without him knowing that you know about already."
"And how are going to make him do that?"
"Just leave that to us."
~~~~~~
Flash returned to the castle after dropping off Gold Loot from Jail. "I still can't believe Twilight nuzzled me, I should do something for her." he said to himself.
"Mail Call!" Derpy the mailmare called out.
"Ah, the mail, let's see what we have here; Bill, Bill, Letter for me, Bill, invitation for Party...wait, mail for me? That's strange, I just got assigned to this castle yesterday."
Flash opened the letter and read it out aloud.
Dear, Sir Flash Sentry
Since tomorrow is Hearts and Hooves day, I recommend you take Princess Twilight Sparkle out on a date and bring her books as a gift.
And you will find out if she likes you or not, but we already know the answer...Well what are you waiting for? Get going!
Signed
Anonymous Ponies.
"Strange...Tomorrow is Heart and Hooves Day? I forgot all about tha-"
"Flash! I'm back!" Twilight shouted as she came in.
"Oh Twilight's back...it's the perfect chance to follow the random advice from the letter and ask her on a date."
"I'm in the throne room, Twilight! I have something to ask you about."
"Perfect all according to plan." Twilight smiled to herself.
"What did you want to ask me about, Flash?" said Twilight, trying to hold her excitement.
"I-I-I uhhhhh...I mean w-would you like to go out on a date with me tomorrow? Since its Hearts and Hooves Day."
"I would love to! Since, I'm not busy I can." Twilight exclaimed, letting her excitement out.
"You will! Oh, thank Princess...oh I mean T-Twilight." Flash said, blushed a bit from his overreaction.
"Well...goodnight, Flash." Twilight smiled sweetly.
"Good night, Twilight. Oh, and Princess, we'll have the date in the afternoon tomorrow."
"Alright, Flash and pray that there's not gonna be another robber tonight." She winked.
Twilight left to her room and left a totally dumbfounded Flash behind. "She said yes, she said YES! Oh, thank you random letter of mine, this is a dream come true!"
Flash took a deep breath and then calmed down, he the resumed to his guarding duties.
Twilight on the other hoove was being the same thing but a little more calm and collected by hugging her pillow, even though it was her and her friends planned it out, it was still nice that it worked. But, what she didn't notice that there were two shadowy figures outside her window.
"You know Discord, I think we're a good team being matchmakers, don't you think?" Cadence asked.
"Yeah, I think so too, Cadence, same time next year?"
"Of course! We can bring Pinkie Pie and Cheese Sandwich together next time."
"No pony else is crazier then her except Cheese Sandwich."
Becoming A Princess's Date
Flash Sentry woke up early in the morning, went out to get the stuff he needed for the date. The first place Flash went to was the brand new bookstore called The Golden Oak Memorial Library, since the Golden Oak Library got blown up, Ponyville made a memorial in the Golden Oak Library honor. The memorial was also a library in itself too and it was shaped just like a tree just like the Golden Oak Library.
Flash Sentry opened the door with a small:
Ring
The library was filled with shelves of books and at the main foyer, a banner hung from the ceiling, words were on it:
In honor of the Golden Oak Library
The library was mostly empty except for a cream-colored earth pony, who sat at the desk. She wore red glasses, and her brown mane was tied up in a bun. She glanced up from her desk when she heard the ring and smiled at Flash Sentry:
"Oh, hello there, Flash Sentry," she said. "I've been expecting you."
Flash's eyes widened in surprise at the cream-colored pony.
He frowned. "How do you know my name and knew I was coming?"
"Oh, but of course," she put her hoof to her chest. "My name is Book Worm, I'm the librarian. I was told you coming to get some books."
"Who told you I was coming?" Flash questioned.
"Oh, some group of ponies did," she said nonchalantly. "But they told me to give you these books for Princess Twilight."
Book Worm gave two books to a stunned Flash. One book was called The Order and another called The Guard and The Princess. Both books were coincidentally about a Princess and Royal Guard just like him and Twilight. Flash took the books from Book Worm and looked at her suspiciously.
"And how much are the books exactly?"
"They are already paid for, Flash. Have a good day." Book Worm replied happily.
Flash Sentry left the bookstore, confused on how the librarian knew he was coming and also: Who are the ponies? His next was the flower shop. Where he was met by Rose, one of the flower girls:
"Ah, Flash Sentry, the new guard. I've been waiting for your arrival." she said.
Flash Sentry's jaw dropped:
"H-How did you know I was coming?" he stammered.
"I was informed you'd be coming, so I'd taken the liberty of getting flowers for your date with Princess Twilight."
"You know about that too?"
"As a matter of fact I do. Also here you go," she handed him a bouquet of dethorned roses.
"What?" he asked in confusion.
"Oh, and don't worry on paying it. They're on the house."
"What?" he managed to say.
"Also go get her, Tiger." she winked.
He stared blankly at her. "What?"
She smiled warmly. "Have a good day, Sir Flash Sentry."
She went back inside the flower shop, leaving a completely stunned Flash behind.
"What?" he questioned. "What...just happened?"
~~
Flash Sentry left to the flower shop and headed to The HayBurger, since he heard it was Twilight's favorite place. As he entered The HayBurger, a thought occurred to him: What if I'm already signed in?
"Oh, hiya, Flash!" a high-pitched voice exclaimed. "What brings you here?"
Flash jumped at the sudden voice, but only to realize it was merely Pinkie Pie thankfully, one of Twilight's friends.
"You must Pinkie Pie, one of Twilight's friends?"
"The one and only!"
"I'm here to book a table for a date, I have a date later today with Princess Twilight, am I for say...already signed in yet?"
"Nope!" she smiled. "Lucky for you we have just a table left."
"Ah, good, Finally things are making sense. Thank you. We'll be coming at seven-thirty p.m sharp."
Flash turned and walked toward the door.
"Bye, Flash!" she chirped.
"See you, Pinkie."
Once Flash was out of sight, Pinkie pulled out a walkie talkie from her mane and whispered into it:
"Calling to Apple Pony, over. Phase 3 is a absolute success over."
There was some static then a click.
"Ya know, Pinkie," Applejack said. "Ya can just say "Phase 3 is a success" and not go all top secret spy on us."
"I know!" she piped, "But it's way more fun that way!"
~~
Finally, Flash went to Carousel Boutique and got met with Rarity, who right away just immediately just gave him a blue suit as he walked in.
Flash bit his lip. "Uh...Rarity, is it? Why did you just give this suit all of a sudden?"
"Well, you have to look stunning for your date with Twilight, darling." she answered in her formal tone.
Flash looked puzzled. "You know I'm going on a date with Twilight? Who told you that?"
"Twilight told me. So I just suspected you'd come, so I made suit, made it this morning as matter of a fact."
Flash glanced down at his suit. It was light blue suit matching his blue mane with a white collar, and a blue tie.
He glanced back at Rarity. "How much is the suit?"
"It's on the house, dear. Any "friend" of Twillght is a friend of me."
He smiled. "Well, Thank you."
"Any time, Flash. Any time."
Flash turned and started toward the door.
"Bye, Rarity!" he said excitedly.
"So long, Flash. Have a delightful date." Rarity said, waving.
~~
Meanwhile, in the new castle, Princess Twilight was pacing her room. "...Twilight?" Spike asked, walking inside.
"Yes?!" Twilight replied, rather loudly.
"Are you...Ok? You look kind of panicked..."
"Panicked?! No, no way, I'm not! I'm not panicked or worried or stressed or-"
"Nervous?"
"Yea-no! I'm not at all nerrrr...." Twilight voice faded as she stopped her pacing.
"Twi, listen to me." Spike said soothingly, "I'd think it's normal for you to be nervous."
"R-really?" The alicorn asked, sitting down.
"Yep. I'm nervous around Rarity sometimes- even though I've known her over a year! In fact, sometimes I just want to be with her so badly, I'm too nervous to ask her out. It's just one of those things that we don't understand."
"W-wow Spike... I never thought about it that way. Thank you so much..." Twilight stands up, "and that's why you're my number one assistant!"
"Aw, you don't mean it."
"Yes I do! Now, where is my dress?"
As Twilight got ready, a very confused and excited Flash Sentry trotted his way to the Friendship Castle.
Knocking on her door, he prepared himself. It's ok...ask her out...don't be shy...don't be nervous! His mind told him.
"I hear a knock, Twi, and I think it's for you." Spike smiled.
Blushing, Twilight went to answer it. "Don't be nervous...Or shy...Or worried...Don't panic! Don't-" her thoughts were cut off by seeing the guard. As he stood in his handsome blue suit, holding flowers for her, and of course books, Twilight had become speechless. So had Flash.
He couldn't help but stare at the beautiful mare in front of him. She looked so gorgeous in her dress... Her bright purple eyes lit up, and her blush made her even cuter.
