Apple Bloom stood at the train station platform, waiting for the train from Manehatten to arrive. Her family wanted to come along too, but work at the farm was a bit too time consuming today, so Apple Bloom was left alone to wait.
After a few more minutes of waiting, she heard the sound of the train whistle blow and bounced with excitement as she saw it coming round the bend.
A minute later, it was stopping in the station, releasing a hissing sound, before the doors opened and ponies began piling out.
Bloom waited anxiously, watching each pony leave, before she saw the pony she’d been waiting for.
“Babs!” she cried and hurried towards her cousin.
The brownish-gold filly smirked, meeting her cousin in the hug. “Hey, cos. Thanks for getting yur family ta stuff fa the week.”
Apple Bloom nodded, grinning ear to ear.
Babs glanced around, an eyebrow raised. “Just yous?”
Bloom sighed. “Yeah. Sweetie’s with her parents in Baltimare fer the week and Scoots went with Dash to watch her in case she has ta take somepony’s place during a Wonderbolts performance in Canterlot. AJ, Big Mac and Granny woulda come, but work at the farm’s been hard this week. On the upside, we’ll have more bits than usual.”
“So, got any ideas fa our next cruzade?” Babs asked as they walked, Babs luggage moving along on the wagon the station had provided for free, since the Apple Family brought them business from all over Equestria.
Bloom frowned, looking down. “No. Ah was gonna brainstorm with Sweetie and Scoots so we’d have lots to do durin’ yer stay, since school’s out fer the week thanks ta that prank Diamond Tiara tried to pull on us, but...”
Babs nodded, grinning. “Well, we’ll jus’ havda think o’ stuff ourselves, huh?”
Before Bloom could answer, a snide voice cut in.
“Why look, Silver Spoon. If it isn’t the Blank Flank wash outs of the Apple Family.”
Both fillies stopped and turned, glaring at the two fillies standing a little aways. Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon wore wicked smirks as they came towards the two cousins.
“Guessin’ ya ain’t scared o’ Babs telling yer moms on ya?” Apple Bloom asked with a knowing smirk, pulling out her cousins trump card.
However, while Silver Spoon showed a little nervousness at the mention of Babs’ very real threat, Diamond Tiara’s smirk just grew crueler.
“At least we have moms to be told to, Blank Flank,” the pink sneered.
Apple Bloom opened her mouth to retort, but a shout from Babs stopped her.
“Shut up, you spoiled brat!” she... sobbed? “Yous don’t go no right... Yous don’t got no clue what it’s like!”
With that ran off towards Sweet Apple Acres, sobbing all the while.
The remaining three fillies all stood in silence for a few moments, trying to take in what they’d just seen.
“Like, what is her deal?” Diamond Tiara frowned, turning to Apple Bloom. “Is she your secret sister, or something?”
“Huh—WHAT?” Apple Bloom started, taking a step back, her eyes wide. “What in tarnation would make ya go thinkin’ ’r askin’ sumthin like that?”
Silver Spoon nodded, a slight frown on her face. “I agree with her. Why the heck did you ask her that, Dia?”
Diamond Tiara pointed a hoof at the Cutie Markless filly. “I was talking about her mother, so why’d Babs go all blubbery and get upset.”
The small frown Silver Spoon was wearing deepened a bit. “Maybe because she doesn’t like having the deaths of her relatives used as an insult,” she said, her voice going a bit colder.
Both other fillies noticed this, glancing at her, before Apple Bloom glared at Diamond Tiara. “She’s right, Tiara. That’s just wrong.”
“It was low, even for you, Dia,” Silver Spoon nodded, before turning to Apple Bloom. “Sorry about that, Apple Bloom.”
“Uh, sure, Silver Spoon,” the farm filly nodded, a little taken aback by the sincerity in the grey filly’s voice.
Silver Spoon nodded, before turning and leaving, not even looking at Diamond Tiara.
“Hey, Silvy!” Tiara called, hurrying after her friend. “Hey, what’s wrong? Why’re you so angry?”
Apple Bloom paid no mind to this any further, turning and heading towards Sweet Apple Acres, pulling Babs luggage behind her. She had a cousin to comfort.
___________________________________________________________
When Apple Bloom arrived at her home, she saw no sign of Babs downstairs, nor of Granny Smith. She’d seen her brother and sister working in the fields.
She could faintly her the sobs of sobbing coming from upstairs.
Setting Babs’ luggage by the door, she moved upstairs, following the sound to her room.
She knocked on the door, a small thought passing through about how it was her own room she was knocking on before entering.
“Babs?” she called softly, hearing a slight pause in the sobbing. “Can Ah come in?”
Again, she felt odd asking permission to enter her own bedroom, but cast that thought aside for now.
There were a few sniffles before Bab’s voice called out a quiet, “Yeah.”
Apple Bloom slowly opened the door and went inside. Babs was lying on Apple Bloom’s bed, her face buried in the pillow, her shoulder jerking every so often from her now quieter sobs.
Apple Bloom climbed up onto the bed and rested a hoof on her cousin’s shoulder. “Babs... is sumthin’ wrong?” she asked gently, rubbing her cousin’s shoulder for comfort. “Diamond Tiara was talkin’ ’bout mah parents. Were ya upset our family was being insulted like that?”
A few more sniffles, before the brownish-orange filly looked up. “Yers? Y-ya mean... she wasn’t taking about mine?”
Apple Bloom blinked, before her eyes widened and her face saddened. “Babs... don’t tell me yer ma...”
Babs nodded, a few more tears sliding down her face.
“Wh... why ain’t Ah heard about this afore?” Apple Bloom shook her head, both upset and angry. “Why would mah sister hide this fr’m me?”
Babs looked down. “She probably doesn’t know.”
Apple Bloom blinked, cocking an eyebrow. “Huh?”
“It only happened a week ago,” Babs said, sitting up, her eyes downcast. “Mom an’ Dad an’ me were at the train station when a stroller rolled onto the track.”
She sat down a bit more, curling her forelegs around her hind legs.
“Mom and Dad hurried to see if there was a foal in there. There was. They moved quickly, but Dad hurt his leg, tripping on one of the rails. Mom took the foal to its mother, before hurrying back ta help Dad, but... by then the train, it... it...”
Babs shut her eyes, her tears starting anew.
Apple Bloom moved forward, pulling her cousin into a hug.
“How’s yer big sis doing?” she asked, remembering Babs mentioning her sister at the end of her first visit... before inwardly frowning.
Who was Babs’ sister, anyway? Now that she thought about it, she’d never actually met Babs’ big sister before. She couldn’t remember her being at the reunion either. She only knew about her because Babs said she'd talk to her back when she was leaving Ponyville after her first visit.
Babs’ sobs rose in volume as she held onto her cousin. “I... I don’t got one.”
Apple Bloom pulled her head back, eyes wide, head cocked in confusion. “But... ya said...”
Babs shook her head, before burying it further into Apple Bloom’s fur. “I only said it so yous wouldn’t worry about me? I never had a sister; I made her up.”
“Oh... Babs,” Apple Bloom held her cousin tighter, letting her cry out her woes into the youngest of the Apples.
After several minutes, Babs had calmed down enough to breath normally and pulled back, wiping her eyes. “Thanks, cos. I’ve needed that.”
Apple Bloom nodded, rubbing the other filly’s shoulder. “What’s say we try figuring out what do next fer our Cutie Marks?” she asked, trying to bring things to a lighter, happier topic.
Babs sniffed, grinning. “Sure.” Then she looked down. “Too bad there ain’t a Cutie Mark fer getting a new mom.”
Apple Bloom blinked, frowning, putting a hoof to her chin in thought, before her eyes widened and she grinned. “Hey! That’s a great idea, Babs!”
“Huh? Is what a good idea?” the filly asked, taken aback.
Apple Bloom stood up on her mattress, grinning. “Let’s try getting our Cutie Marks in being newborn foals?”
Babs blinked, before shaking her head. “Come again? How in Equestria would yous and I get Cutie Marks in that?”
Apple Bloom put a hoof to her chin in thought again. “Hmm? First, Ah’d need to make a few potions. Ah’m pretty good at it, but Ah think we'd need somepony more experienced, since Ah ain't never made those kinda potions afore.”
“But.. to be newborn foals... wouldn’t we need to come out of a mother, first?” Babs asked, cocking her head to the side.
Apple Bloom blinked, before looking down again. “Yeah," she murmured, "yer right. We’d need a mare ta be our new Momma fer that. Hmm. Ah could ask some o’ AJ’s friends... but, Ah still wanna be an Apple after I’m born again. the closet choice outta AJ’s friends there would be Pinkie, since she’s family, but... Ah dunno.”
“Wait!” Babs said, frowning. “Bloom, I appreciate it, giving me a new mom would be nice, but...” she shook her head, frowning. “Why would yous risk this yurself. Wouldn’t ya family miss ya.”
Apple Bloom blinked, before sighing. “Yeah, they probably would. But... Ah’m like you, Babs,” she looked to her cousin with misty eyes, causing Babs to blink in surprise. “Ah love mah family more than anythin', but... ah miss havin’ a ma. Ah... Ah can’ even really remember her. AJ’s been like a mom and a sister ta be since I can remember and... well...”
“Ya don’t want me goin’ at it alone?” Babs asked, giving a small smile.
Apple Bloom nodded, before her eyes widened. “AJ!”
Babs blinked, confused. “Huh?”
“AJ’ll be our new ma!” Apple Bloom cried, clapping her hooves together. “She’s pretty much raised me since Ah was little, so she’d be perfect. Plus, it means mah family won’t miss me, cos Ah’ll be right here!”
Babs cocked up eyebrow, thinking it over. “Uh... yeah. I guess that can work.” She frowned. “So, how’re ya gonna make the potions?”
Apple Bloom grinned slyly. “Ah know just the zebra ta help.”
___________________________________________________________
“Hello there, Apple Bloom and Babs Seed. Is there anything with which, my assistance you need?” Zecora asked as she opened the door to find the two fillies standing outside her hut’s door the next morning.
“Hi, Zecora!” Apple Bloom said with a cheery smile, walking in, Babs right behind her. “Ah was wondering if’n ya could teach me about sum types o’ potions. A friend in town wants to know about ’em an’ asked if Ah’d ask ya.”
She didn’t like lying to the zebra, but needs must, as the saying goes.
Zecora gave a slight frown, before nodding. “Then tell you I shall on how the potions are to make, so to this pony you may the final product take. What kind of potions did the happen to ask for me to assist in this task?”
Apple Bloom glanced to Babs, who nodded, though Zecora didn’t notice it. “They wanted to know if’n there’s a potion that can turn a pony into a newborn foal.”
Zecora blinked, then chuckled. “A simple age potion? How plain? I thought you would give me a harder one to need to explain.”
Apple Bloom shook her head. “Not an age potion. This pony wants ta know if’n there’s a potion that’ll let a pony turn into a newborn foal inside another pony. Umbilical cord an’ all.”
Zecora blinked, her face blank for a moment, before a frown creased her brow. “Here I thought it was to be for a time of mirth. But you are telling me this pony wants to be a part of birth?”
Apple Bloom nodded, scratching her neck. “She already knows the pony she wants as her new Momma, but she doesn’t know if’n it’s possible.”
Zecora tapped her chin in thought for a few moments, before nodding. “A potion like that is not often required, as it is not often that it’s results are desired. But such a potion does exist. I will aid you with an assist.”
“Alright!” Bloom cheered, grinning at Babs.
“However, the new mother must be taken into account,” the zebra continued, moving over to her cauldron and starting to put ingredients in. “After all, she will need comfort whilst carrying her new foal about.”
“Huh? Ah didn’t think o’ that,” Apple Bloom said, putting a hoof to her chin, before glancing at Babs. “Ah guess havin a pony push through there would be kinda painful, huh?”
Zecora nodded, placing some leaves in the pot and stirring the mixture that had began to take shape. “I think a potion to allow her foalhole to stretch would mean she does not feel a retch.”
Babs nodded, chuckling nervously. “Yeah. I-I wouldn’t want m— that pony’s new mother to hurt as the pony went in.”
Zecora nodded. “It would be most unkind. Better to allow her a chance to unwind.”
Two hours later Babs and Apple Bloom walked out of Zecora’s hut, after Zecora had explained everything they’d need to tell the pony they’d talked about they’d have to do, three vials of potion in her saddle bag. When Zecora had asked why they wanted two, Babs had said the pony who’d asked them to come had a friend who felt the same and that the two wanted to be sisters.
Likely, the zebra had bought the lie and made turn potions that would allow a pony to turn into a newborn foal.
“So, what now?” Babs asked as they head back up the path through the Everfree that led back to Ponyville. “What’ll we do as our last day as cousins, sister?”
Apple Bloom giggled at the idea that she and Babs would soon be siblings. She looked up, pondering the posibilties. “How about we enjoy some o’ Pinkie’s bakin’. We won’t get a chance to fer a few more years once we’re born.”
Babs nodded and they made their way down the path.
As they passed through Ponyville, both being greeted regularly by the townfolk, Apple Bloom spotted Miss Cheerilee sitting at one of the small cafes, enjoying a cup of tea and some apple and cinnamon cake.
Suddenly, Apple Bloom felt saddened as she realized that, after becoming foals, she wouldn’t be able to be in Cheerilee’s classes again for another few years.
Taking a deep breath, she turned towards her soon-to-be former teacher, Babs following behind, only hesitating a moment at the sudden change in direction.
___________________________________________________________
Cheerilee smiled as she sipped at her tea. While the damage to the classroom Diamond Tiara’s prank had caused meant school would be closed for the week and she would have to deal with a lot of paperwork, she couldn’t help enjoying herself right now.
While the paperwork did loom in the back of her mind, she was thankful to be able to enjoy her morning.
“Miss Cheerilee?”
The maroon Earth Pony looked up from her tea to see Apple Bloom standing in front of her.
“Why, good morning, Apple Bloom,” she smiled, setting down her tea and turning to her student. She suddenly notice the expression on the young filly’s face. “Apple Bloom, is something wrong?” she asked, conserned.
Apple Bloom suddenly reached forward, pulling the older mare into a tight, warm hug.
Cheerilee was a bit taken aback by this sudden affection, but returned the hug, wondering if something had gone wrong recently and the filly needed some comfort. Is so, she was more than willing to give it.
“Thank ya fer everythin’ Miss Cheerilee,” the young filly whispered, holding on a little bit tighter. “Ah can’t thank ya enough fer all ya’ve done fer me. An’... an’ Ah looked forward ta when Ah c’n come back ta yer classes.”
“Oh, um...” Cheerilee said, a little unsure how to respond to the unusually worded gratitude being giving to her. “You’re very welcome, Apple Bloom. I’m glad I could help you.”
After a few more moments, Apple Bloom pulled back, wiping a few tears from her eyes, before nodding and moving off towards Sugarcube Corner alongside a pony Cheerilee recognized as Apple Bloom’s cousins, Babs Seed.
She watched them go, blinking in confusion. Why had Apple Bloom just suddenly come up and hugged her like that, and why was she crying at the end?
She decided that, tomorrow, she would go over to Sweet Apple Acres once she’d finished with the paperwork and talk to Applejack to see what was going on, find out if something had happened.
___________________________________________________________
“Hiya, Apple Bloom! Hiya, Babs!” the every energetic Pinkie Pie called, waving to them from behind the counter as they walked in.
Apple Bloom smiled at the pink mare. “Hiya, Pinkie.”
“So, what’ll you two little fillies be having today?” Pinkie asked, leaning on her elbows as she looked from one filly to the other.
“How much ya got, Babs?” Apple Bloom asked, pulling out her purse.
Babs pulled her own purse out of her saddlebag and they emptied both onto the counter.
They quickly counted it all up, before grinning to Pinkie and saying in unison, “One of everything!”
Pinkie paused, her pupil shrinking for a moment, before returning to normal and looking at the girls with an oddly firm expression for the party mare.
“Now, girls,” she said, in a firm tone that also was rarely heard from the usually bouncy pony, “I don’t like selling food that isn’t going to be eaten; that’s a waste of good pastry. So, do you really think you could eat all that?”
Apple Bloom nodded firmly. “We’ll be sharing, so we’ll each get half o’ one thang. That should work, right?”
Pinkie looked up, sticking her tongue out of her mouth as she thought it over. She eventually nodded. “Makes sense.”
The two fillies went over to their table and waited. They were using every last bit of their pocket money, seeing as it would be a while before they started even getting an allowance again and wanted to go out with a bang. Or, at least a bang be filly standard, and stuffing yourself with every tasty treat you could sounded right to them.
After just a few minutes, Pinkie Pie had piled one of everything the bakery could offer in front of the girls.
“Enjoy!” Pinkie cheered, turning to go, before she pause, her nose wrinkling and her back hunching for a moment.
“Pinkie?” Babs asked, glancing up from the chocolate bagel she’d just spit in half to share with Apple Bloom. “Yous okay?”
“Huh,” Pinkie tilted her head to the side. “Somepony I know is going to be a mommy soon.”
Both fillies almost chocked on their pastry. Did Pinkie know what they had planned?
“Whelp, whoever it is, I can’t wait to throw them a foal shower!” the pink pony said brightly, before skipping off, humming to herself.
Once the girls had calmed their airways they breathed a sigh of relief. It seemed Pinkie’s Pinkie Sense, while picking up on what their plan would do, hadn’t actually pointed them out.
“Come on, mah soon-to-be sister,” Apple Bloom toasted, holding up a strawberry thickshake. “Let’s enjoy our last time tasting Pinkie’s treats until we’re older enough again.”
Babs lifted a banana one and joined the toast, before they dug into their feast.
___________________________________________________________
Apple Bloom and Babs sat down at the dinner table with the rest of the family.
After finishing at Sugarcube Corner (managing to eat everything they'd ordered, just like they'd promised Pinkie they would), they’d spent the rest of the day helping out around the farm, to make up for the work they wouldn’t be able to do after they were born again.
Applejack and Big Mac had been glad for the help, even if Babs wasn’t as experienced in apple bucking as her cousin, but thankful for it, none the less.
The spread for dinner was pretty good. Apple fritters, turnovers, cinnamon toast, hash browns, fresh apples and oranges and Granny Smith’s famous Zap Apple Pie.
As the adults all closed their eyes and put their hooves together for grace, Apple Bloom, who was sitting closest to Applejack, glanced at Babs, who nodded.
Apple Bloom quickly and quietly reached down, lifting a vial filled with a brown liquid. It was the potion meant for the mare that would be the mother of those who wanted to be foals.
She leaned forward, uncorking it and tipped it into her sister’s drink, the brown-coloured potion mixing perfectly with the non-alcoholic apple cider in AJ’s mug.
Just as fast as she’d gotten it out, Apple Bloom sat back down, hiding the vial underneath the table, before she and Babs joined in grace.
When grace ended, the whole family tucked in, Apple Bloom and Babs savouring their last meal as cousins before the events of the night.
Several hours later, Babs and Apple Bloom snuck into Applejack’s bedroom and moved over to the sleeping mare. She was snoring loudly, so being quiet wasn’t really needed, but they did so anyway.
“Ready to get yer Cutie Mark in bein’ a newborn foal?” Apple Bloom asked, glancing to her cousin.
Babs nodded, her expression a mixture of firmness, uncertainly and excitement. They were both about to get a new mother, as well as their Cutie Marks, all at once.
Nodding, Apple Bloom held out two vials filled with a greenish-blue liquid. They were the potions that would turn them into foals. Zecora had said, for the type of thing they’d spoken about, these potions were delayed. They’d take a few hours to fully turn them into foals.
Their main focus was easing the drinker’s body into no longer working on its own, to allow the body of whomever mother was to take care of the lives that would rest within.
Clinking the two vial together like a toast, the two fillies downed the potion, both gagging slightly at the taste, before discarding the vials on the floor, climbing up onto the bed and moving over to the sleeping mare.
Applejack had kicked the covers off in her sleep and was laying on her back, her marehood on full display.
Both fillies glanced at each other, before Apple Bloom held out a hoof. “Yer the guest o’ the house. You first.”
Babs looked uncertain, glancing from the slumbering Applejack to the filly. “Ya sure? She’s your sister. Sure yous wouldn’t wanna go first?”
Apple Bloom shrugged. “Ah can wait. If not fer yer idea, this wouldn’ even be happenin’, so Ah think ya’ll should go first, Babs.”
The brownish-orange filly smiled, nodding and moved towards Applejack’s marehood.
“So, I just push my way in?” she asked, glancing back at her soon-to-be sister.
Apple Bloom nodded. “Zecora said we should and ta keep goin’ until we feel some wall, then push through that. Then we just gotta sit and weight fer AJ ta birth us an’ bam; Cutie Marks and a new ma!”
Babs nodded, before pressing her forehooves against the small slit. Her hooves quickly sank in with no real effort and she smile, pressing further until her head touched the slit, following her hooves path soon after.
Apple Bloom watched in fascination at first as she saw her sister’s lower area being stretched so wide, watching the bulge of Babs pressing against her sister from the inside.
Then, she moved forward and started pushing Babs from behind to help the filly through further, glancing up and seeing her big sister’s stomach starting to bulge as Babs moved further in until she was all inside, Applejack stomach becoming distended by the presence of the filly within her.
Suddenly, as she started to do as Babs had done, Apple Bloom felt a hoof reach out and grasp hers. Smiling, she let it pull her in, aiding in her attempt to push within her sister.
She couldn’t really see the fleshy walls around her as she moved further in, there not being much light.
Finally she felt another opening moving around the leg being pulled, shortly followed by her head.
She still couldn’t see anything, but she knew Babs was in front of her. Strangely, it felt like her head was against Bab's lower stomach area.
“So, now what?” Babs’ voice asked as the two settled into a comfortable position in their fleshy surroundings.
“Wait til mah sister wake up, Ah guess,” Bloom shrugged, before realizing the gesture was meaningless in the darkness around them.
Author's Note
Applejack is certain in for a shock when she wakes up, alright.
How will she handle her sister and cousin now being inside of her? Will she be able to convince them to get out before things have gone too far and they WON'T be able to turn back?
If you've seen the panels this fic's based on, you already know the answer to that.
