This is a test story, an idea I had a few months back about an alternate universe Equestria. One where the Alicorns abandoned the planet, leaving every nation to fend for themselves. Because the nations didn't have the Alicorns or the Elements of Harmony to protect themselves with, technology advanced to meet the threats Equestria and the world faced. Now, two thousand years after the first arrival of Discord, Equestria faces a new challenge. Tensions have been growing with the other nations as resources run low. An experienced soldier by the name of "Storm Strike" has begun to grow in influence through his feats. In previous battles, he has led his fellow soldiers against seemingly impossible odds. But can his luck hold out? And how many enemies has he made with his adventures?
