Here i am. Ponyville train station. Two hours early. Perfect... this is just perfect. Now i have even more time to kill before my job interview at carousel boutique. Sadly i had enough time to prepare on the Train so there is nothing left for me to do.
Well, since the weather is nice and i have nothing else to do in this little town i can go sightseeing. provided there are any sides to be seen around here. Let's have a look around.
"Hi there, I am Pinky Pie. Who are you? Are you new here? Or are you just visiting?" A pink mare bounced seemingly out of nowhere right in front of me.
"Oh I... My Name is Sassy Saddles and I am here to go to a job interview" Wow Sassy, a slight scare and you can only stammer your sentences. Brilliant. I really need to calm down.
"That sounds like Fun. But i guess you don't need my company for that. You seem perfectly capable of doing that on your own!" She exclaimed
"But you do seem a bit jumpy. You need to calm down a bit if you want to leave a cool and professional impression on the pony you do your interview with.... Oh! I know: You should totally take a Tour around Ponyville! This time a day it is really calm and not busy at all. It is really relaxing. Here take this."
My Vision is now blocked by a tour guide to Ponyville that is being shoved in my face.
"If you get the job i will throw you a Welcome to Ponyville party!"
As i lower the Guide with my magic "But I apply for a job in Canterlot" is all i can get in.
"D'awwwww ... No Welcome to Ponyville Party... But that is OK. I wish you the best of luck for your interview anyways. Have a Awesome day!" With a huge grin she bounces away.
That was ... certainly something... But now that i have a something to distract me i will just do that. watch out Ponyville here i come.
Well, there are a lot less buildings and sides in there then i expected. There are only two close by. The first one is the new castle of princess twilight and since i live in Canterlot i get to see castles and spires all day long so i went for the other Building: Townhall.
Oh my. It makes me feel so small. It is certainly a sight to be seen up close. Right now I m front of a sing that is claiming that this building houses all civic offices and, of course, the Mayors office. All offices are listed on it with there opening hours and there location in the building.
Sadly it is a very small sign and every thing had to be printed very small. I can barley read it, and i am right in front of it. And from what i have seen when i went through this building it has no navigation system. The rooms seem to be numbered by the date in which the occupying bureaucrat took the office and not by level. I would not be able to navigate through it and i bet it is not easy for the ponies who live here as well.
It is a mess. That building is a even bigger mess then The Silver Brooch when mister Buttonfix opened it up. He was so hard broken that day.
He haired me to manage his shop and his PR campaign and i did just that. Soon after i moved his workshop from Trottingham to Canterlot he started to work on his Canterlot only lineup of trinkets. He insisted that he would only sell in Canterlot manufactured pieces of jewelry. Soon enough he gave me a set of earrings, a necklace and a very lovely brooch. All with a distinct Sea leaf design, which reminded me of his works from Trottingham.
I took thous to center my PR Campaign around them. It went really well. I had the perfect model and big enough budget to afford Photo Finish to help me set up the visuals.
Soon before the opening every mare in Canterlot demanded to get here Hooves on one of these Accessories. The Crowd that was gathered in front of the store was so massive i had to block the door with my Magic to prevent Everypony from braking through.
Sadly mister Buttonfix had not made enough of the Special advertised brooch i used to kick of the campaign. And right before we had to open the gates he decided to tell me. Yes, literally five minuets before the grand opening he decided to tell me that we only had three of his fantastic See-leafe brooch and the other pieces of jewelry. And to make matters worse he had given me his last bits to start the campaign.
He simply had forgotten to save some Bits to keep him in businesses. I can not believe he had a boutique in Trottingham. Needless to say it went poorly. After we opened the doors we sold them Quickly but the other Ponies who did not get there hoofs on one of these Pieces went wild with disappointment. We had to call the guards. It was a mess.
Right there and then i decided i would never let somepony take the planing in there Hooves when i have to manage a Shop. There is nothing good coming from a really talented craftspony to trip on the basics of economics and bringing down there entire business.
Oh! Here i go again clinging to the past. On the entire train raid i got carried away by my thoughts. I should keep on trotting down the street to clear my mind of that. All that matters is that i learned my lesson. I should go a head and keep on looking for a park or something like that to clear my mind. And i have to keep a look on the time i don't want to miss my appointment with Rarity.
Ahhhh the air around here is so clean and crisp. There is nopony here. I trot over to a place in the shadow of a huge and old Tree it is realy quiet and serene. I can hear nothing except the soft pounding of my hooves. You would not experience a silence like this outdoors in canterlot and only seldom inside. It is like the silence after Huge Ushanka revealed his last Lineup in the Top Had.
I vividly remember it. I had taken the position as the manager of the Top Hat a view Month earlier and had made it a huge success. Everypony who was who had heard of this boutique most of the upper class owned some if Huge Ushankas pieces. But for his last line he had incised to work on his new project alone and did not share his information with me at all. He did not tell me his theme nor did he tell me now many models he had planed. So i used only mouth to mouth marketing and since i was known to be his manager everypony took my word for it. Luckily that campaign went viral.
On this big reveal day he was on stage to present his new creation and i was at the back of the room, prepared to take orders. As the curtain lifted there was only one hat. It was nice, certainly, but not as gorgeous as his previous works and it was only on hat. He Presented it and exclaimed that it will be the only hat of the entire line up. Before i could say something he stated that he will not make another one. Only one hat for all of canterlot he even went es far as to state a outrageously high price for it. The response was utter silence. Followed by a slow giggle that went into a all drowning laughter. He was laughed off stage. We did not recover from the image loss that day.
The following days he tried to make up for the face loss by making public appearances with is 'master' peace. It did not went well. He insisted that he hat to do there Events alone, and from what i have heard he was laughed at at every single one.
We closed within the next two Month after all our savings where used up. He went beck to Stalliongrad. He is doing well now. We occasionally write each other. He is a good pony but not good with crowds and very stubborn.
This howl fiasco would have been averted if he had some pony to do his promoting for him. And so i concluded that i will not let any pony ruin a good shop by making unwise or ill temper Public appearances.
"Hey Sassy! How did your interview go?" I jolt up from a slumber under a huge Tree.
"I ... where ... who? What time is it?" is all i can get out as i get unsteady on my hooves. I got woken up by that strange pink mare from earlier who is standing right in front of me with a answer demanding grin.
"You are in Ponyville most central park right under the only Oak Tree in this park, you would know that if you have read my Tour guide. I am Pinky Pie and it is ten to ten o'clock in the Morning. So how did you interview go? Did you get the job?"
"MY INTERVIEW! It is in ten minuets! Tel me: How do i get to Carousel Boutique?" I Stammer out as i straighten my Dress.
"That way. It is the big carousel. You can't miss it. And Good luck again!" Is all i can here here say as i bolt away in the direction she indicated.
Here it is. I made it. A quick look to my reflection in the windows to straiten my dress again. A breath to calm my breath and pulse. Now i only need to remember my past mistakes to succeed with this job. I enter.
