Rainy Days

Today was a cloudy day here in equestria. Vulcov went on his daily walk going from his house to the town square when he stopped to get his usual pick me up at sugarcube corner.
“Hey Pinkie, can i get my usual?” I said as i dropped the bits on the counter top. “ Sure thing” she replied as she went to get the baked goods. I sat down at a table reading my mail when my order was ready. I licked my lips in anticipation as i dug into the slice of marzapan meringue madness, coconut sprinkled donuts and a mango milkshake. Thanking her, I left the bakery with a full stomach.
I made my way into the town square when I found my favorite spot to be at, the fluffy clouds in the sky. After the soft landing i drifted into the wind feeling again the sense of freedom as i floated around thought about how great my life is right now. I quietly rested on the cloud for a couple of hours when a hoof shook me awake. wha… i didn’t get to finish my sentence as a gray mare prodded me awake, giving me a letter and flying away after saying I’m sorry. Wiping my eyes open again with my hooves I look to see that I was over Sweet Apple Acres. I turned to open the letter and what was inside didn’t make sense to me as I mulled over the contents. It took me a little while but i soon comprehended the situation at hoof.
I spread my wings flying back towards the entrance of the Everfree as a yellow mare with a pink mane asked my why I was going into the forest alone at this time. I looked up and saw that it was already sunset and the wind was picking up. “ Um I wouldn’t go into the alone right now, it’s awfully dangerous as it is so um you can stay at my cottage for the night, um that is if you want to” said Fluttershy. I look once again to the forest as I had took a heavy breath and followed her inside.
As I sat down and petted some of the animals she kept in her home i sat down and she got us some herbal tea and a few snacks. While I was getting settled in I noticed a particular picture on the wall, I went up to examine it as she got back. We had some small talk when i asked, “Um I was wondering where you got that painting over there” I said as I made a gesture with my hooves. Silence continued on for what seemed like forever, I took a sip of the tea and patiently waited for a response. Thunder struck somewhere in the distance, and I smelled the salty air in the rain through the slightly open window. Nothing was said for a long time as I saw Fluttershy contemplating whether or not to tell me when she finally asked why. I showed her the letter and saw the same reaction I got when i understood the contents. “She was here yes, we took that picture as a sign of friendship but i never saw her again after that day.” I stood up baffled, do you know where she might be? No was her only response. She went to bed and offered that I could sleep in a spare guest bed but I declined the offer and slept on the couch.
I saw vivid memories of her in my dream calling out to me, I ran and ran but i couldn’t get closer to her no matter how hard i tried. I awoke on the day I met her, her sweet sky blue eyes and gorgeous smile made my heart melt. That was also the day she ran from me, i cried and tried to run after her like in the dream but it was pointless and i never understood why.
I woke up half screaming half panting as i realized it was already sunrise. I looked around to see if she was but i never saw her anywhere. Again I petted the animals and said goodbye to them as I made my way to the everfree. I would’ve got Fluttershy to escort me to zecora’s place but i didn’t want to disturb her sleep especially after she saw the letter. I trekked on wary of the dangers this place would hold when I finally arrived at zecora’s hut. I knocked on the door and she opened it and let me in.
She must’ve known what i was here for because she had a sad look on her face. I handed her the letter and walked over to her latest brew and smelled many different aromas which thankfully calmed me down. “Well well what do we have here, a letter from someone dear? she finally said. I nodded my head in response, do you think… I was cut off when she shook her head and gave me the sad smile once again. She handed the letter back when i finally read it aloud. (It had her beautiful handwriting)
Dear Vulcov
I am sorry about the events from when we first met and I want to apologize for what happened.
Right now I am at the griffinstone to attend to some business but I promise I will be back.
So one of my relatives are sick and I’m visiting them so don't worry about me. Oh a few more things before I finish writing this letter, during my leave I found out my parents already arranged a marriage for me back in my hometown Los Pegasus and well I adopted a new foal whose name is Kelso. I know what you’re thinking but don't worry you can visit me anytime and no the marriage is months away so I can try and find a way out of it. Best wishes to you friend.

it is lonely, empty and cold

I cried right there on the spot I cried and cried, my tears fell into the brew. After a few hours zecora prepared a bed for me. “Are you going to go after her at daylights start or will you and her drift apart?” This I can not tell but before you sleep and before you make your trekk drink the brew for it will help you clear your mind. Thank you, you don’t know how much it means to me, and yes I will chase after her but I need to write her a letter first. As I sipped the brew I saw zecora walk out of the hut probably to meditate. I looked around and found a ink and quill with a little bit of parchment and began writing.
