Mass Effect: Skies of Harmony

Chapter 1

In the Equuleus constellation, orbiting the star Equulei, was the planet Equus. It’s main race are the pony races, split into three tribes: earth pony, pegasus and unicorn. They lived in harmony until evil they thought was defeated returned: Nightmare Moon, Discord, King Sombra and Lord Tirek. A unicorn named Twilight Sparkle and her five friends came together to revive the Elements of Harmony. Magical gems that can defeat any evil.

Due to Twilight’s lessons in friendship and use of the Elements. She was ascended to alicorn status. During the Equality Rebellion by Starlight Glimmer and her followers, the King of the unicorn dominated nation Arcadia, allowed Starlight and her followers amnesty from Equestria’s warrants of arrest. Soon the King of Arcadia, Magus Aurora, exiled his oldest daughter, Magic Tricks. Soon Arcadia began it’s war to enslave the entire planet.

Magic Tricks aided in stopping his father from enslaving Equestria, after they conquered most of the kingdoms of Equus. However, it led to the execution of Magus for his war crimes. Magic is crowned Queen of Arcadia. But it was something she wasn’t ready for yet, and she passed the crown to his younger sister, Magica.

But this tale is not over yet. Archaeologists, such as Daring Do, uncovered advanced alien technology buried for many millenniums. This technology was combined with magic and gave the races of Equus the ability to explore the stars. They also learned the technology are used with special gateways that allow faster than light travel throughout the galaxy, called Mass Relays. Once used the pony races met several other races that inhabit the Milky Way galaxy. Such as the Turians, Krogans, Salarians, Asari, Quarians, Geth and the Humans.

Questions of how Arcadia was strong enough to conquer ninety percent of Equus remained unclear. However rumors of an ancient evil being released by King Magnus ran rampant. If these rumors are believed to be true. Then whatever evil force aided Arcadia must be found and destroyed. This is the story of that investigation. The story of a team of ponies searching the entire galaxy. This is the story of how they rise through the ranks to become a fourth dominant race in the Citadel. After the galaxy’s war with the race of giant robots called the Reapers, now comes a new threat that is more powerful.

Onboard the EMSV Harmony, a unicorn mare with purple fur, a white mane and tail with a purple stripe, and purple eyes trotted through the ship towards the bridge. His body except for his head was covered in technological black armor with purple and white pieces. On his back was was a unarmed assault rifle and a unarmed shotgun. At his side is a unarmed pistol. The unicorn stops and looks at the large monitor, as the pilot of the ship, a Pegasus mare colored rose red, counted down till the Harmony passed a mass relay.

“10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1…” The Harmony then passes by the mass relay, causing it hit warp speed further into the Milky Way galaxy.

“All systems are in the green.” Ink Rose said. “Our destination is a space anomaly near the center of the galaxy.”

“Good…” Commander Firebrand said. Breathing a sigh of relief. “Looks like smooth sailing from here on out.”

Ink turned to her fiance. “First time going through a mass relay honey?”

“Well yeah. I’m a Marine. I shouldn’t be doing this.” Firebrand said.

“Well the Space Marines is a new branch to the Equestrian Marine Corp.”

“Well let me know when we’re at our destination.” Firebrand left the ship’s cockpit and to the war room. Where he met the unicorn. Both saluted each other as Firebrand motions for the unicorn to take a seat near the galactic map. Which disappeared and replaced with a holographic display of their target.

“Magic Tricks…” Firebrand said. “This is the planet where the anomaly was found. The planet where we’re headed towards, is called Eden. It’s supposedly the planet that all life in the galaxy started on. However scientists are unsure currently. It’s never been explored.”

The former King of Arcadia nodded. “So what is the real mission?”

“We lost contact with two scouts from the Nimbus. Kim and Antony C.”

Firebrand replaced the holographic image with a video of the last communication received from Kim. A blue pegasus mare with brown/blonde mane and tail stared at the camera. Her face has the look of pure fear as tears fell down her eyes.

“To anypony who receives this transmission. This is Kim Pegasus of the EMSV Nimbus. We’ve crash landed on this mysterious planet. We don’t know anything about this place, but my partner Antony C found some kind of sarcophagus and we all opened it. It contained something very evil and has killed everypony except for Antony, Mage, Heart Song and I. We have survived for the past hour and don’t know if we can survive till help arrives. Please help us!”

Then Kim looked behind her to notice something. “Oh Celestia… Whatever it is, it’s just caught Heart Song and has disemboweled her! I have to get out of here and hide! Please somepony find this…”

The video ended and everything was back to the galaxy map. Magic Tricks looks disturbed but remains cool headed for Firebrand to continue.

“That is where the communication ends. We just received an hour ago. So we don’t if any of them are still alive or not. That is where you come in. Your mission is to investigate what it was that was released and if there are any survivors.”

A female human wearing N7 Human Alliance armor colored white, walks up to the two ponies.

“Commander Firebrand?” she said.

“Oh right… Let me introduce you to Ashley Williams. She’s a human SPECTRE sent by the Council to evaluate you and see if you have what it takes to become the first pony SPECTRE.”

“Me a SPECTRE?” Magic asked. “What makes you think I’m good enough for SPECTRE?”

“Well you did aid us during the Arcadian War. Why wouldn’t I nominate for SPECTRE?”

“You got a point…” Magic said as Ink’s voice came over the comm.

“Commander we’re coming up to Eden.”

“Alright…” Firebrand said. “Show the plan on the main screen.”

A large monitor on the wall behind the galaxy map switched on and showed a planet like the Earth and Equus. However on the other side of the planet is covered with pitch black clouds, and red lightning.”

“Anything from the crew down on the planet?” Firebrand asked Ink.

“Nope, but I am receiving a couple of weak lifesigns.” Ink said. “However they are coming from the side of the planet with the dark storm.”

“Well Magic, Ms. Williams.” Firebrand looked at the two. “You should get ready. I’m sending Puzzle Piece with you. To be your science officer down below.”

“Let’s get ready Ms. Williams.” Magic said.

“Just call me Ashley.” Ashley said.

“Alright then Ashley.”

Both left the war room to the shuttle bay. Ready for their assignment.
