A Brothers Love

As Scorpan walked to the cave that he and his brother called their home he remembered the chat he had with the two princesses. " I beg you Celestia don't send my brother to Tartarus!" the demon begged. The white alicron looked up to the demon with a mixture of emotions such as pity, understanding, and a bit of irritation. "Alright Scorpan you have one chance at convince your brother, but if you cant persuade him then we must send him to Tartarus for his crimes." Celestia spoke in a motherly yet stern tone as if she wanted to let him know that she understood the pain but was willing to protect her little ponies. As Scorpan is brought out of his thoughts by the sound of his brother planning and scheming he walked in to see Tirek with a big grin on his face crossing of images of tones on a large map of Equestria. Inside the cave was two piles of grass and leaves that the brothers used as beds and in the middle of the room was a stone table Tirek carved for both eating and planning.

"Ah brother its good to see you again" Tirek said with his arms open hugging his little brother with the look of pure joy. " We've nearly sucked all the magic out of Equestria all that remains is Canterlot" As Tirek let go of his brother he noticed that Scorpan wasn't as excited has he was and this confused the demon. "What is the matter Scorpan? We're about to have all their power aren't you happy?" Scorpan sighed and looked up to his older brother with a look of worry. " Tirek........ do you think that maybe we shouldn't be doing this?" When the words left his mouth the smile on Triek's face slowly faded. What once was pride was now replaced with confusion. " W...what nonsense are you speaking of brother?" Scorpan rubbed the fur on the back of his neck trying not to look his brother in the eyes.  It's just that we were already powerful before we came here why would we need more magic?" As Scorpan looked at his brother a new expression was added to the confusion, anger. " What is wrong with having more power?" Tirek asked looking curiously at his younger brother. " Nothing Tirek its just that well these ponies cant live without their magic." Tirek's anger was quickly replaced with humor and his laugh bellowed and seemed to eco in the cave. " The Ponies ha ha ha oh brother you really got me ha." Scorpan quickly stood up straight and looked his brother in the eyes determined. " I'm not joking Tirek this is serious!" Trieks smile quickly turned into a from and he glared at Scorpan which sent a shiver down the younger brother's spine.

"Why do you care about these ponies?" Scorpan looked at his brother with fear but calmed himself. "They are my friends Tirek and.." "FRIENDS!" Tirek interrupted his brother with mixture of both confusion and anger. " HOW COULD YOU BE FRIENDS WITH THOSE PONIES!?" Scorpan has seen his brother angry before but never like this, it was as if he was talking to an entire different person. "Tirek they're not that bad they.." "HOW COULD YOU YOU"RE MY OWN BROTHER AND YOU SIDE WITH THE ENEMY!" "TIREK THEY ARE GOING TO IMPRISON YOU!!!" Scorpan yelled getting his older brother to shut up. "What?" Scorpan sighed and looked up to his eldest brother. "Tirek they're going to imprison you for stealing their magic, but I've convinced the Princesses to stop if I could persuade you to stop this madness." Tirek stared at his younger brother then turns around staring at the large map. "Get out.." Tirek muttered "W...what?" Scorpan stuttered as he tried to reach out to his brother. "I said GET OUT!" Trek turned around smacking Scorpan's hand away. "But.. Brother.." "Brother? You are no brother of mine, my brother would never betray me!" Tirek roared. "Tirek its not like that, you are losing yourself to this power hunger of yours!" "Silence!" Tirek hissed at the younger demon. "I see there's nothing I can do to change your mind.... Is there?" Tirek shook his head confirming Scorpan's fears. " Very well, before I go i want you to have this." The younger demon took off his medallion and held it out to Tirek who grabbed it staring at the golden object. "No matter what you think Tirek I will always be your brother and i hope that maybe one day you'll come to your senses." Scorpan opened his wings and flew away leaving Tirek alone in the cave staring at the medallion in his hands. Tirek wanted to destroy it or throw it away, smash it to pieces till there was nothing left but a leathery string. But something told him to hang on to it, so the demon put it on his neck and was getting ready for tomorrow. For that was the day that things would change, more than he knew.

As Tirek left the cave for the last time he thought about the day before. A single question circulated around in the demon's head "Was he right?". This thought nagged him for hours until he finally saw it, Canterlot and the thought quickly left his mind and was replaced by the thought of having all that power. It was all he could think of and in a way Scorpan knew this as well, this unending greed will never stop. And ultimately, this is what led to the demon's down fall.
