Twilight awoke to a bright beam of light shining into her eyes, when it was removed from her line of sight she saw her good friend Applejack holding a flashlight in her mouth. "Oh hey Applejack what time is it, did i oversleep, how is spike."
"Twilight there aint no tahm to explain ya'll need to listen to me, we are both in terrible, terrible danger." At that moment a hissing could be heard behind Applejack at which point she lashed out with her back legs, bucking a strange bat like creature to the ground. suddenly a huge mixture of screams and roaring erupted from behind her. "Twi we need to move, NOW!" Applejack then proceeded to gallop through the hospital with Twiligh in hot persuit. Twilight ran as fast as she could, there were deformed, nightmarish monsters jumping at the two mares trying to tare them both to shreds. "quick this way, through this door" shouted Applejack as Twilight ran towards her but just as twilight ran through the door a monster seemingly dead in a wheelchair pounced on twilight impaling her right shoulder with one of its sharp blade like limbs. Twilight tried to fight it off but to no avail she thought she was a dead mare, but as the beast raised its blade to take another swipe it was knocked off of Twilight in a flash of orange and sent sailing through the door which immediately shut, crushing the creature into nothing but a bloody mess.
As Twilight got to her feet she had tears in her eyes and gased at the wound she had sustained from the evil, deformed creature, "Applejack what is going on here, where am I and what in the hay are those-those THINGS!"
"Ah dont know Twi and ah certainly aint got a clue as to where we are, all ah know is that we are here and that there is this thing which calls it's self 'Diana' aparently she is a girl human which is what these things are, except these 'things' are dead"
"DEAD!? how the buck can they be dead? they were running at us trying to kill us" Twilight shouted in plain confusion.
"Look ah dont know how it works jus' trust me on this one" said Applejack as she put a hoof to her ear. "Daina ah'v found Twilight"
"Excelent work Applejack,now try to get her back here alive" said a female voice seemingly from nowhere.
"Where did that voice come from" Twilight asked her orange friend
"from this thing in mah ear i think Daina called it a 'communicator', i can hear her from far away with it, if we can get to her she said she can get us home."
"good i dont want to have to stay here any longer." Twilight preceeded to limp through the halls of the hospital with the support of Applejack, they suddenly entered a room with a big glass window in it and there was another human sctratching something onto it. Twilight walked over to him and asked, "um exscuse me but could you tell us the way to th-aaahhh!" the man spun round and put a knife to her throat,
"Tiedman said that we-all the key subjects need to be eliminated-whats one more" Applejack was stood stiff not wanting to make a move in case it hurt Twilight.
"im not a key subject, what are you talking about..." the man stared at her
"...You-you really dont remember what we did to you and your friend." the man suddenly released the lavender unicorn. "There is a flashlight and medical kit in that wall locker, you should grab them" said the man looking at the greavious wound on Twilights shoulder.
"Uh thank you i guess" said twilight slowly edgeing towards the locker, she opened it and there was indeed a flashlight and a small bottle of white pills inside. The purple unicorn gulped down the pills and suddenly felt alot better and her wound slowly healed. "that-thats amazing" she exclaimed in pure shock, she turned round with a smile on her face to look at thew man standing there, "Twilight we are all gonna burn for what we did to you" he suddenly, without warning stuck the scalpal into his neck and slowly pulled it acrooss his throat sending blood everywhere. Twilight froze in shock, she turned around and threw up what she assumed was her breakfast. Applejack began walking over to Twilight, doing her best to avoid the blood that covered the floor, she reached the lavender unicorn who had now broken down into tears.
"Applejack, whats going on, why is this happening."
"Ah dont know but we need tah get tah Daina so we can get home to our friends."
"Ok AJ" muttered Twilight through her tears as she got up from the floor, "lets go." Twilight hovered the flashlight in front of her and proceeded through the door followed by Applejack. They soon came to a pitch black room, Twilight raised her flashlight and wandered around the debris that littered the room. She and Applejack were nearing the exit when a bunch of squares on the wall lit up with a loud bang causing both fillies to jump back and shout in fright.
"oh mah Celestia! You ok Twi"
"Y-yeah im good come on AJ we need to keep moving" Said Twilight in a rather shaky tone. The two friends entered a room with one exit that had one exit that had the word "locked" across a red circle in the middle of the door. Applejack raised her hoof to her ear.
"Uh Daina we got ourselves a bit of a problem 'ere, theres a door here but its locked and there aint no way we are gettin' it open." the communicater crackled before a femenin voice could be heard through it loud and clear.
"Ok Applejack hold on let me see, uh, ok there should be a big red and grey square in that room can you see it." Applejack gazed around the room before she saw a strange red and grey square on the wall with a big blue circle across the middle.
"Yer ah see it"
"Ok im imputting you and Twilight into the system and authorising you to use them, uh give me a second... Ok Applejack you are recognised by the computer as a class 2 engineer and twilight you are recognised as a class 4 military precision sniper, i apoligise for that but those are the only two codes that im aware of at this piont in time however if you find a big yellow capsual with a blue screen on it you should be able to buy items and weapons from them with credits you find lying around. Oh and another thing, you two will both get different starter items from the shop due to your difference in class recognition."
"Thanks Daina" replied the orange farm pony as she moved her hoof away from her ear. "Ok Twi, lets go." The two friends trotted over to the vent, Placing her orange hoof on the centre circle Applejack waited and after several seconds a synthetic female voice spoke up seemingly from nowhere.
"Welcome, equine, Applejack, engineer, authorisation granted." Applejack smiled and began to crawl throught the vent. Next twilight stepped up, placed her hoof upon the centre circle and recieved a similar message." Welcome, equine, Twilight Sparkle, military personel, authorisation granted." Twilight then began to crawl after her friend.
"Uh AJ, I have a quick question."
"Sure hon what is it."
"Uh what happens if we run into one of those things in here, i mean there is barely enough room to move already and we..." At that moment they rounded a corner and saw two blade-like spikes poking out round a corner, both ponies froze with fear, afraid that one wrong move or sound could grab its attention. "psst AJ, what do we do, please tell me theres a plan"
"As sorry as ah am tah say it, ah aint got no plan, so ah guess we sneak up on it, ah mean we cant go back, if we did we'd make too much noise."
"Ok AJ lets get this over with" as much as twilight hated even the very thought of harming, let alone KILLING anything. But at this stage it was about survival, and if these creature were already dead then by logic she wouldnt really be killing them, in fact she would be doing them a favour, however the idea just didnt sit right with her. The two slowly and silently crawled towards the creature, they were ready to pounce when twilight accidentally caught her leg on a piece of metal mesh cutting her legs slightly, "OW!" As soon as that word had escaped twilights muzzle she was certain that they were dead, but instead of killing them the monst just scurried away through the vent.
"Wow now that right there was a close call" announced Applejack leeting go of a breath she didnt know she was holding.
"Yeah no kidding." Replied Twilight looking behind her breifly. "c'mon lets get the hay out of this vent." Both ponies were nearing the end of the vent and could see the exit, but just as they thought they were out of the vent they fell through the bottom of the vent and into a strange and very small room with a floating body and glass walls all around them.
"OW! Twi could ya get yerself off me please?" the orange pony groaned
"Oh yeah sorry about that, so now where are we" Applejack raised her hoof once more.
"Uh Daina we have run ourselves into a bit of a snag, we are in a room surronded by glass walls and there is a hovering dead body next to us, it seems to be next to a machine."
"Ok Applejack that machine is a kenisis restraint module, is there a red box next to it."
"Yeah there is"
"Ok good take off the front and inside should be a kenisis pack, it is rectangular with round edges and a dark blue screen on it,"
"Ok ah got it, now what"
"Now you should be able to attatch it to your ankle and pick up objects and throw them without phisicly touching them." Applejack glanced at Twilight so it is like magic then she thought to herself as she atached the small machine around her ankle.
"Ok thanks daina." Applejack looked around for something to test her new ability on, there where some very sharp rods on the bed next to them, she pointed her hoof and flicked her ankle and suddenly a transparent, violet coloured beam shot from the machine and the rod began to lift from the ground, Applejack now moved her hoof in a circle and marvled as the rod followed her hoof movments, she looked at the rods. "Wow, these things sure do look sharp, ah wonader if we can use them to defend ourselves." Applejack slowly rotated on the spot, pointed her hoof at a window and gave her hoof a little thrust forward, the rod then when shooting through the glass at a remarkable pace and sticking halfway into a wall. "heh, ah guess they can", as she said this, as if on cue two monsters came wondering around the corner towards them growling in a sinister and dark tone. "Quick Twi the rods." Twilight picked up the deadly piece of metal, and even though she did not want to hurt anything, she flung it into the monster of a thing that was charging at her. What was left of was now a bloody mess pinned to the wall, Applejack was not as fortunate, the second monster lunged at her pinning her to the floor just like Twilight had been as they were escaping the first medical bay. However, Applejack had a great deal more strength than her friend and with all her might was able to buck the creature off her, she turned, picked up the a rod and shot it into the monster's back pinning it to the floor, Applejack ran over to the still-alive abomination and repetidly stomped until nothing was left but a pool of mush.
Applejack stepped back teary eyed and broke down into sobs before her best friend at the scene she was responsible. "Tilight ah-ah didn't mean to go outta control like that but ah was-ah was just so scared that..."
"Its fine AJ, of course you didn't want to die, nopony would. Especialy to the hands of watever these things are." Whispered the lavender unicorn nas she slowly trotted over to her traumatised friend.
"it aint that Twi its just-well if i die here then i will never get to see mah Rainbow again" Twilight suddenly remembered the farm ponies passionate love for the cyan pegasus and now understood perfectly why she acted as she did.
"Oh AJ, I'm so sorry. But don't worry because we are going to get out of here, we will see our friends again and most importantly you will see Rainbow dash again" The farm pony looked up, the tears in her eyes seeming to stop momentarily.
"Ya-ya really think so Twi."
"I know so"
"Promise"
"Cross my heart hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye" Announced the unicorn while making several hoof gestures at the same time.
both ponies walked over to the bodies and looked down as two gleaming objects fell from their pockets, picking them up they could see that the word 'credits' was written along the front of the object.
"Well this should come in handy if Daina was right about the shops, speaking of which, we need to keep moving if we want to get to her." And with that the two ponies set off again through the deadly sprawl in search of their friend.
(author note: I have been wanting to do this for a while and if anyone can think of a better name then please tell me.)
"Well ah gotsta say this kenisis thing sure will come in handy for a great many things." said Applejack admiring the little blue rectangle on her ankle.
"AJ come on lets get moving, we need to get out of this room before more arrive." said Twilight with and anxious face as she rapidly kept looking around the room.
"Sure Twi lets go" both mares rounded a corner to see a large metal door with a blue circle on it with two arrows on it, one arrow pointed up, the other down. Walking up to it Applejack placed a hoof on the circle for a noise to sound but nothing else. "Aw c'mon dont tell me thing is broken" as the farm pony spoke the door suddenly opened, "oh, never mind." As both ponies walked in they didnt see another door, or room, they were stood in this tiny room that only led back the way they came.
"So, what now" said Twilight with a very confused face.
"Ah dunno ah cant see a reason why thi-oh wait ah see a little panel." the orange pony walked over to a little blue panel on the wall, placing a hoof on it she saw that it turned orange and the doors suddenly shut.
"So now what, we are just locked in here now, there is no way out except the way we came." suddenly the doors re-opened and the mares saw a completely new room. Both mares had looks a surprise on thier faces. "What in equestria just happened." both ponies turned to see the words "sprawl elevator service, here to help you."
"An 'elevator' ah dont know what it is but ah sure know it helps." both ponies stood staring at the strange piece of metal until a shrill cry echoed through the room causing the mares to turn, down a slope they saw two monsters advancing on their position, both mares looked around rapidly until they saw some more of those rods that were in the previous room. soon both mares had picked up the rods and impaled both creatures befor they could get near. "Welll that was mighty easy" said the orange mare trotting over to the bodies to check for credits, Twilight was about to folow when she saw another creature moving towards Applejack from behind. Without thinking she levtated a chair into the air and rammed the undead creature sending all four legs of the chair through it's chest. Applejack turned only to have blood spray onto her face until her head was covered in the crimson liquid, wiping it from her face and eyes she could see Twilight stood there with both shock and horror in her teary eyes.
"AJ I wasn't thinking and I just-I just..."
"Listen sugar, had ya not done what ya did, ah wouldnt be saying this right now. ya'll saved mah life and im grateful but ya cant simply break down and feel sorry for yerself everytime ya kill one of these things, ya gotta be strong and remember, this is all about survival at this point. Try to look at it this way, they are already dead so ya'll are doin them a favour." The lavender unicorn looked up through her teary eyes.
"Ok AJ, you're right."
Both ponies entered a room that had a bright yellow capsule in it and a dead monster on the floor. Twilight and Applejack walked over to the capsule to inspect it. (i skipped the whole room with the Puker and the guy on the table because twilight wouldn't know how to turn a medical tool into a weapon) placing her hoof on the blue screen (and yes this game really does have a very unhealthy obsession with the colour blue) Twilight saw the screen illuminate and several pictures came up on screen, Twilight selected the first option and a robotic, feminine voice said "soldier suit, standard issue, payment due: 0 credits, please confirm purchase". Twilight clicked the confirm button and suddenly the bright yellow capsule swung open, Twilight entered the small space and without warning two robotic arms shot out of the machine and grabbed Twilight's front legs and pulled her up onto her hind legs. "Applejack, help!" but before the orange pony could get to her friend the big yellow doors slammed shut trapping Twilight in the capsule, Twilight screamed and shouted as needles penetrated her neck and deep into her spine as it attached a metal plate with glass bars implanted into it.
Twilight exited the capsule with tears pouring down her cheeks, but now she had a suit of very thickly padded Armour on. "Th-that was the most painful thing I have ever experienced in my life, Applejack im so sorry but... you need to go through that as well" said Twilight pointing to the door to their left, on the door read the words: "zero oxegen area ahead, air provision compatible suit required for entry". Applejack sighed, walked over to the machine and placed her hoof on the bright blue panel, but instead of a list of pictures the screen turned red and a female robotic voice said:
"Im sorry but you still have an unaccepted weapon", Applejack looked down and saw a long metal tube-like object with a small metal pole with glass on the top onto of two metal hands petruding from the front of the capsule.
"Uh Twi, Ah think this is yours." Twilight walked over to the object and levitated it up from the hand and held it in front of her, once the weapon was away from the machine the same robotic voice rang out and announced.
"Military grade standard issue precision seeker rifle received." Twilight turned to her friend and signaled that the machine was ready for use, Applejack walked up to the machine and placed her hoof upon the screen and pictures immediately came up on the screen, Applejack picks the one and only option available to her, once again the voice called out: "Engineer class two, standard issue maintenance suit, payment due: 0 credits, please confirm purchase. The farm pony walked over to the capsule, after inhaling a deep breath Applejack entered the machine. Twilight listened in misery as her friends screams could be heard all to clearly through the thick metal. eventually after what seemed like a lifetime Applejack exited the capsule with tears also rolling down her face, however Applejack was now also wearing a suit, but this one was lightly padded and had several strips of metal going across the right shoulder.
"Oh, im so sorry AJ, i wish you didn't have to go through that as well" Muttered Twilight in a very depressed tone.
"Its OK Twi, its over now and hay, at least we can get through this door now." replied Applejack picking up her weapon.
"Engineer class tool, Plasma Cutter received" announced a very familiar voice. Just as the two friends were about two leave the room the monster that the two thought was dead in the corner lunged at the ponies and pinned applejack to the floor, Twilight immediately swung round and leveled her rifle in front of her she noticed a blue laser point from under the barrel to a place that she assumed would hurt the beast, she aimed for the creatures head, and pulled the trigger. BANG! the monster's head went flying clean from its shoulders and hit the floor with a loud thud, but it was still alive and still attacking Applejack, so she leveled the rifle for the monsters chest but just as she pulled the trigger she sneezed, making her flinch and causing her aim to be off, instead of hitting the monster in the chest the bullet went clean through its shoulder and tearing its arm off in the process. the creature fell to the floor rything in pain until suddenly it stopped moving and lay still on the ground. Twilight ran over to help her friend up.
"Did you see that AJ, I-I shot off it's damn head and it was still alive"
"Ah Know Twi, lets get moving before more show up" replied the orange pony. However when they tried to open the door it wouldn't let them through. "what the, we got the darn suits what more does this door want."
"Well it says we need oxygen producing suits so that must mean that we need helmets on" and just as the last two words escaped Twilight's mouth, sounds could be heard from inside the suit and suddenly a small piece of metal appeared and began to unfold into bigger bits until eventually her whole fave was covered with metal except for 3 strips that emitted bright blue light. "Whoa" announced Twilight in pure astonishment "Applejack you have to try that."
Applejack looked at her friend for a moment and then said "helmet on" and then, just like Twilight metal unfolded from her suit until it completely covered the ponies face. "wow, that's amazin' Twi, how'd ya suppose it works."
"Don't know, and right now don't care. We still need to get out of here so lets get moving." Twilight walked over to the door and placed her hoof on it and sure enough the door opened and the two preceded through it. "im guessing we have a limited amount of air so lets not stay out here to long be- oh wait" said Twilight stopping herself "there is an air count in the top left corner of the helmet"
"Oh yeah, Ah see it, we got plenty of time left" stated the orange farm pony as they entered a new room, Once in the next room and the doors had closed the ponies new suits let out the excess air and re-pressurized the ponies bodies. This room had several pillars in it and a giant chunk of metal at one side of the room and two more doors. They went over to the door closest to them, but the circle on the door was red and, once observing the other door it turned out that both doors were locked and another exit could not be seen within the room "uh Daina we don't have a way out of this room, both doors are locked and there isn't another way out except the way we came, any suggestions?" asked Applejack raising her hoof to her ears. After a few moments the communicator crackled into life and daina's voice could be heard through it.
"OK give me a minute Applejack and ill see what i can do"
"Whoa, Daina I can hear you now as well" stated Twilight in Amazement.
"Of course, you must have a suit of Armour now right?" Asked daina.
"Yeah we do, but having them put on was the moth pain that either of us have ever experienced."
"Oh, you must have had to have you're rigs installed" replied Daina
"Rigs?" asked Twilight in a confused tone
"Yes, Rigs display your vital signs, which basically means how injured you are and they also show you which way to go if you ever get lost. If you get lost just raise your front right leg and a bright blue light should come out of your Armour and show you the way." informed Daina.
"OK thanks Daina" answered Twilight as she removed her hand from her ears and waited for Daina to open the door. "So Applejack, how exactly is Daina going to get us ho-" Before the unicorn could finish her sentence a loud banging could be heard from behind the two friends, they turned around to see a huge deformed, nightmarish creature clamber over the heap of metal at the end of the room and stared at the two ponies. The ponies stared in utter horror as the demonic creature stood, towering over them on three thick limbs, it had extremely shard spikes leading all the way down its spine and more spikes petruded from its body. After a short period of time the creature charged. "Quick Applejack, shoot it!" Shouted Twilight, both ponies raised their guns and started to fire round after round at the creatures body but to no avail, the shots simply bounced off of its torso and not even phasing the rampaging monster.
"Our weapons arn't even scratching it Twi what do we do!" shouted Applejack in panic. The monster neared the duo and raised one of its powerful arms to take a swing at the two Friends, luckily both ponies were able to evade the attack by diving under its arm, after a Quick recovery the two ran behind the beast and once again began to unload shot after shot into the monstrous being but it had soon turned around and swung for the two. Twilight evaded the beast just in time but Applejack wasn't as quick and went flying into a wall as the creatures arm connected with her body, Twilight looked around to see her friend staggering to her feet.
"Applejack look out" shouted Twilight as the monster connected another hit and launched the orange pony next to her friend, Twilight help up Applejack and looked up as the monster was running at the two again. The nightmarish creature was almost upon them when suddenly a flash of light connected with the monster's head, All three beings turned to see a tall two legged creature standing there with the same Armour on as Applejack.
"Hey asshole! over here!"
The tripod turned and dashed towards the intruding biped and raised one of its colossal arms ready to crush the new creature, just as the tripod was about to bring its giant arm crashing down the biped dived out of the way, got to its feet and raised its weapon and fired off some shots from its plasma cutter which tore straight through one of the recovering tripod's limbs. The huge beast turned and started to crawl towards the biped and feebly swung its arm, but this swing was extremely slow and the biped merely had to sidestep to avoid it, it fired off a couple more shots into the other limb of the tripod. The now limbless creature writhed around on the floor for a few seconds shrieking in pain until it eventually fell silent and still. The biped walked over to Twilight and a seriously injured Applejack, it knelt down in front of them and suddenly a male voice said "helmet off", suddenly its helmet folded up.
(I appoligise for this cliff hanger, there was actually another 2000 words but an error accured and my google chrome shut down and i lost the work and cant retype it again tonight.i just thought that i'd give you something rather than nothing.)
