Inside the Appleoosa Ranch Hotel, upstairs in Room 21, one disguised changeling was debating her next move. She was disguised as a female brown earth pony with a light-brown tail and mane that was tied up in a ponytail; a bucket of apples on her flank. The actual changeling's identity was none other than Queen Chrysalis herself. She was on a mission to find her kingdom to prepare her changeling army for a future invasion. It had been two months since her failure at the hooves of her enemies; especially that Twilight Sparkle and Princess Cadence. Oh, the things she planned on doing to them when she took over. She smirked at the thought of their immense pain they would feel and decided to head out to feed. She wouldn't have to look far because the ponies here were like love-filled gold mines.

All she had to do was head out to the Appleoosa Saloon where she could easily seduce drunk ponies to take to her room where she would feed of their drunken love. When the deed was done, she'd wipe their memory to force them to forget the entire experience. She chuckled at how stupid these ponies actually are.

Once she entered; she saw a drunken brawl break out. Chrysalis giggled at the sight, finding conflict to be very amusing. The fight had then escalated to the outdoors and left the saloon. Chrysalis used her changeling senses to read the emotions of the ponies around her for the strongest one. She felt intense sadness emanating from one of the corners of the saloon. She smiled as soon as she felt it. She had a seduction plan for those overcome with such sadness. She would make them feel loved and invite them over to stay at her place for some company with some of her charms. Then the feeding would begin...

It didn't take her long to find the source of the intense sadness that she had sensed. It came from a pink earth pony with a long and limp mane/tail. Her facial expression was in cheerful and dark. Chrysalis stopped and frowned at the sight because the pony looked vaguely familiar. She shrugged it off and forced herself to smile; she needed to feed for the journey ahead.

She sat on a chair in front of the pink pony and said, "Well somepony's a little sad."

"Not interested," the pony blatantly replied, "I have had enough stallions and mares clamoring for my attention."

Chrysalis frowned and looked to where the brawl had gone and replied, "You were the reason that fight took place?"

"Yes," the other made simply answered. Chrysalis felt even more sadness emanate from the depressed pony.

"You shouldn't feel down; I for one would loved to have that much attention," the changeling stated.

"Well, I'm not you, am I? I knew I should've listened to Rocky and not have come out here," the pony sighed.

"Who?" the changeling asked, confused.

"Someone who actually understands me, unlike my so-called friends back in Ponyville," the pony grumbled to herself out loud.

"That's what your sad about? You lost your friends?" asked Chrysalis. She was smiling on the inside, already rolling out her game plan to seduce said pony.

"Why do you care? I'm a nobody, my only friends abandoned me! What do you have to gain from cheering me up? Are you like those other two, clamoring for my attention and trying to get me in bed because of my fragile state? Go find somepony else to 'fool' around with! I'm outta here!" the pink pony cried out, tears welling up in her sky blue eyes as she left.

Chrysalis sat there, shocked, overwhelmed with the pony's lingering raw emotions. Anger, sadness, hate... and it felt like it was rather new to the pony it came from; like the pony used to only feel the opposite of said emotions most of the time towards those she saw as friends. Shock turned to anger as she realized she was disrespected by the pony. It compelled her to search for the pony again and teach her to never disrespect her ever again. The feeding would wait; there was one pink earth pony to deal with.

Chrysalis sensed the pony's powerful emotions from her hotel in Room 20; right next to hers. She smiled at the coincidence and her luck.

"This was way too easy," she whispered to herself. She immediately regretted her words when she broke in. The room was dressed like a six-year old's birthday party with tons of streamers and balloons. A banner with the pink words 'Happy Birthday Pinkie Pie!' scribbled on it hung from the corners of the room's ceiling. In the center of the room, there was a table that had a big red, pink, and blue frosted birthday cake in the middle of it. The table was surrounded by five stools and on those stools were five particularly weird items; a bag of flour, a bucket of turnips, a ball of lint, a pile of rocks, and the pink earth pony she was looking for. The pony's face was contorted with rage as she stared at Chrysalis with unmoving eyes.

"HOW DARE YOU INTERRUPT MY BIRTHDAY PARTY!" the pony yelled. If changelings could feed off of anger instead of love; the pony's anger could feed them for centuries.

"I...uh!" was all Chrysalis could utter.

"You better get out before I knock ya out," the pony said in a masculine voice while moving the pile of rocks. She added in her normal voice, "Yeah, you tell her Rocky!"

"Zat is correct madam," she made the flour say and added normally, "Thanks Madame la'Flour!"

Yeah! Shoo off!" she made the turnips and lint yell in agreement and then she said to the changeling normally, "You better listen to Sir Lintsalot and Turnip!"

Regaining her posture, the changeling queen adopted an angry face and growled, "You disrespected me and now your going to pay for that!"

"Wait, what? Sir Lintsalot, protect me!" the pony yelled, hiding under the table.

Chrysalis sighed and threw the table to uncover the cowering pony and she laughed at her superiority. She was about to knock the pink pony out but before she could; the pony was gone. She looked behind her to see the pony at the door saluting mockingly at her and yelled, "Sayonara sucker" and zoomed away.

Chrysalis' face went from anger to confusion back to anger as she gave chase.

She used her ability to sense out emotions as a radar to track the pony, 'Pinkie PIe', but she was hard to pin down so Chrysalis decided to change forms into a grey unicorn with a lavender man and tail with a star as a cutie mark. Now she could use magic without drawing too much attention.

She found her quarry waiting at the train station; somehow already packed and ready to leave. Chrysalis snickered, knowing she wasn't going to get on one anytime soon. She got up close to Pinkie Pie and teleported them back to her room and soundproofed it.

"Hey! What happened?" the earth pony asked. She was locked in a magical green cage.

"I locked you up, 'sucker'," answered Chrysalis, evilly chuckling to herself.

"Who are you?k" Pinkie Pie questioned.

"I go by many names and forms..." Chrysalis started to reply, while changing into the form of the pony Pinkie had ran from. "...but my true name is none other than Queen Chrysalis!" She then transformed into her true form.

"YOU!" Pinkie dramatically gasped. "You're the meanie who turned into Cadence and almost ruined the wedding!"

"I guess you would've heard of me," giggled Chrysalis.

"Too bad my friend Twilight, her brother, and Cadence defeated you!" Pinkie smugly retorted. She then frowned, "Well, not that she cares about me anymore now."

"Your friends with that wretched Twilight Sparkle!?!?" growled Chrysalis. Her eyes widened in realization. "Your that annoying childish pink pony, filled with that annoyingly powerful emotion of happiness, even higher than most other pony I've felt. Now you're the exact opposite, but the emotion is just as powerful. If those emotions are that powerful, I wonder... but you're friends with that stupid Twilight Sp..." she rambled, but stopped when intense sadness overflowed her senses. She looked at her captive and saw tears fill the pony's blue eyes.

"No! Twilight and the others abandoned me! Left me to fester in my own sadness. They are no friends of mine!" she cried. "I hate them with all of my broken heart!"

Chrysalis nodded and replied, "Then I guess we have something in common."

The changeling looked outside and sighed, "She has taken everything away from me and now I am trying to reclaim it. I guess if you want; I can help you make them pay for there insolence and for what they have done to us!"

Chrysalis then realized what she had said and questioned it. Teaming up with a pony? Who knew what could happen, but then the pink earth pony surprised her with her answer of "Yes."
