There was no sunshine, no laughter, and no ponies. The rain were beating against the roofs of Ponyville. Inside the houses, there were some ponies laughing, some ponies sleeping, and some ponies spending their times together with their families and friends. But there was one pony who was in sorrow; who was in pain. And that pony was a certain yellow pegasus. The sounds of the soft whimpering would've melted your heart instantly. It was a voice of pain, confusion, and sadness. Just at that moment, a ray of light peeked through the doors. It moved slowly, and her pale fur shone. From that moment, a bang was on the door. "Hey, Flutters!" A bubbly yet rather chirpy voice said. "You in there?" Fluttershy stifled a gasp. She wasn't expecting any visitors around this hour. She stayed silent, wanting her pink friend to know that she wasn't there. A few seconds later, Pinkie Pie mumbled, "Oh, she must be somewhere else...Oh well! There's always another time!" Fluttershy suddenly felt guilt weighing her down. She didn't really want her friend to leave, nor does she want her friend to be bothered because of her problems. "I'm so sorry, Pinkie," she said in a small voice, her cheeks wet from her tears. "I'm so so sorry..." She lowered her head down and stared at the floor. She kicked the mat in frustration before looking at the picture frame. "It's all my fault..." Fluttershy stared at her reflection. She looked terrible, as her friend Rarity would say/ Her mane was sticking out, and there were bags under her eyes. Her eyes were red and she sniffled sadly. She didn't care about her looks, until not now. "I'm so sorry, mom," she whimpered, caressing the picture and picking it up. "I...it's all my fault.." Fluttershy embraced the picture slightly, as if her mother was there. She sobbed as she was clinging onto it, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" Fluttershy felt the tears drip down from her face. It was almost like it was never ending! She felt a paw on her leg. She looked down to see her pet bunny, Angel, looking at her with worry and sadness. "Oh, Angel..." She whispered as she picked him up, her eyes filling with tears again. "You're the last thing that mother gave to me..." She hugged him gently, silently sobbing. She felt a hoof on her shoulder and with a loud gasp, she turns to see her face to face with Pinkie Pie. She dropped Angel in surprise, but thankfully he is alright. "P-Pinkie!" She wiped her tears away. "W-what are you doing here?!" Pinkie made a sad smile, "No need to, Fluttershy...I heard everything..." "B-but how?" Fluttershy whimpered. "I heard some noises here...and I decided to check it out," Pinkie smiled. Fluttershy looked to the ground, "Oh..." Pinkie frowned. She hated seeing her friends, especially Fluttershy, sad. "Hey, it's okay..." Pinkie offered a tissue which Fluttershy gratefully accepted. "Why are you sad, Flutters?" Fluttershy sniffled, "Oh...I don't really want to be a bother..." Pinkie giggled, "You're not a bother, silly! Besides, what kind of friend would I be if I don't help you out?" Fluttershy looked at her for a moment. Then, she softly spoke, "Today's my mother's birthday." Pinkie's smile dropped immediately. "Oh...I'm so sorry Fluttershy..." Fluttershy made a weak smile, "It's okay, Pinkie..." She shamefully looked away from Pinkie. "And it's all my fault." Pinkie tilted her head in confusion, "What do you mean by that?" Fluttershy wiped her tears, "I..." She closed her eyes as she sobbed, "It's all my fault!" Pinkie stared at her for a moment before moving closer to Fluttershy. Fluttershy felt warmness on her fur. Pinkie hugged her tightly, never wanting to let go, "It's not your fault, Shy...It's not." Fluttershy only cried even more, "But it is, Pinkie! I...I'm the one who ran away..." Pinkie nuzzled her, "No, it's not your fault..." Fluttershy sobbed, "I'm the one who wasn't there for her when she got cancer!" Pinkie looked at her with pity, "Shh shh...Fluttershy..." "I.." She choked up the last sentence, "I'm the one who killed her..." Pinkie's eyes widened for a moment, "But...you can't give anypony cancer, Fluttershy..." Tears streamed down her face as she answered with a shaky voice, "I-I'm the one...who didn't listen to her...I...wanted to make new friends...but my mom declined because..." Fluttershy squeezed her eyes shut, "Because she said they're worthless..." Pinkie froze in shock as Fluttershy continued being somber. Pinkie opened her mouth to speak, but none came out. Eventually, Fluttershy spoke, "I should've listened to her...I ran away....and I went to the party...A-and..." Fluttershy choked up as Pinkie squeezed her, "Don't say anything else, Shy...Don't..." Fluttershy stayed silent for a moment before shaking her head gently, "No, Pinkie...I want to..." Pinkie stared at her, "Are...you sure?" Fluttershy sniffed and nodded, "Then...there was this earthquake...It was so scary...But..." She moved closer to Pinkie, "Mom...she knew I was there, and when the roof collapsed...she...pushed me out.." "Shy..." "She has been in long treatment, and....doctors said that...she has lung cancer, and that she had heart failure...I never felt so...scared and worried in my whole life..." Pinkie's pink mane was already dull and flat, and her eyes were watering. "I...had mental treatment due to my loss, and...the doctors wouldn't let me see her until...she..." She couldn't speak no more. She gave up and cried. Pinkie wrapped a hoof around her neck, "It's okay, Shy...just let it all out..." Fluttershy's screams, whimpers, and cries of pain could be heard throughout the cottage. Fluttershy didn't have to be so lonely anymore. She has got her pink friend. And that friend would never leave her alone. Maybe, just maybe, she doesn't have to live with that guilt anymore. ~The End~
