*Authors Note

Hey everyone, I am terribly sorry this chapter has come so late and its so small as well. I thought this month I would be quite free to work on this though I was very wrong, I got a new girlfriend and have been spending a lot of time with her and then I also had a bereavement in the family. Just saying this story is not dead and will aim to do a small chapter every week. Now back to the story enjoy.

“Oh… Nova, I didn’t expect to see you here.”

“I was just getting measured for the suit that Rarity generously offered to make for me, what about you Twilight.”

Twilight tried to think of a reason quickly not wanting to tell him that he was there to talk to rarity about him, nothing came to mind that was until Rarity lifted up a dress out of Nova’s line of sight. “Was just checking up on the dress for the Gala” she finally said.

“I saw it earlier; I think you will look great in it.”

“Thanks, Rarity always does a good job” she said blushing slightly.

“Oh sorry Twilight I just remembered I have some errands to do around town I can show you the dress later today.” Rarity quickly left leaving the other two alone outside the shop.

“Well if you got nothing else to do Twilight would you mind walking with me a bit?”

Twilight nodded and walked through town with Nova. “About earlier Twilight, I didn’t mean to cha…”

“It’s not your fault Nova, I over reacted, I just didn’t expect you to come out with something like that, I mean nopony has ever said anything like that to me.” Twilight said interrupting Nova mid sentence. “You did mean what you said didn’t you?”

Nova thought over what to say not wanting to scare her off again, she will flee again, no she seems to be opening up a bit more it should be ok. “Of course I meant it; you are the most beautiful mare I have ever seen.” Nova hoped that Twilight wouldn’t run away again after the compliment but was glad to see the mare still walking beside him with a smile on her face that wasn’t there a second a go.

Twilight was over the moon she was afraid it may have been a one off thing or just something in the moment due to the sunrise but she felt much better now hearing that this pony was really interested in her. It was then she realized she didn’t know much about Nova apart from his link with the sun, his amazing magic and that one memory she had been a part off. Her research mode immediately kicked in she needed to know everything about him. First things first magic “So tell me more about your magic what spells can you do, I bet you can do all different kinds.” Twilight said excitedly.

Nova could see that Twilight really like magic she seemed to bounce in her steps as soon as she mentioned the word. “Sorry to disappoint you the only thing I can really do is levitate and move objects, though I don’t think anypony can move as much or as far as I can.” A large number of rocks and other objects started moving around Nova. “That’s a small example of what I can do, weight is not a problem either, and if I really wanted to I could probably move a good portion of Ponyville all at once.”

Twilight was taken back with the amount of objects orbiting Nova, “That’s amazing Nova though why have you not learned any other spells, you clearly have the magic and concentration for it.”

“I was never taught any spells, when I was young it was just me and my dad and he couldn’t afford to send me to one of those fancy unicorn schools, he was also a earth pony so he didn’t know much about magic. My own fear of myself also stopped me from experimenting with magic on my own.”

“Well it’s too much of a waste of talent for you not to know any spells, I’ll teach you some.” Twilight has always wondered what it would be like on the other end of the student teacher conjunction and this would be the perfect opportunity, it would also be a good excuse to spend more time with Nova.

She only wants you for your magic, no that can’t be right she just wants’ to help. Nova shook off the first though again “If you think it’s a good idea, you know what I’m capable off.”

“Oh don’t worry about that, I will be there with you every step of the way. Don’t you want to do this?” Twilight instantly disappeared from Nova’s side only to appear on the other side of him.

“Wow was that a teleport spell, only some of the greatest unicorns ever have been able to do that.”
“Yes it was” happy that she had impressed Nova.

“Twilight I’ve been meaning to ask you, I noticed that all your friends and you have a strange magic with them it’s almost as if there is two separate sources of magic.”

“That’s because we are the elements of harmony.” She said as if it meant nothing.

“The ELEMENTS!” Nova shouted more surprised than he ever thought. He had heard rumours that the elements of harmony were all mares but never expected to come across any of them. The more he thought about it the more sense it made though. six mares with strange magics with them, one incredibly powerful, Twilight is obviously magic and Pinkie Pie most likely laughter I wonder what the others are. “So you stopped Discord and help save Canterlot during the wedding?”

“Yes among other things.” Most ponies knew about the Changeling attack and Discord but the Nightmare moon event was kept under wraps to help Luna with her readjustment.

“So you are magic right and if I had to guess Pinkie is laughter… what were the other elements again.”

“Both correct, c’mon try and get the others generosity, kindness, honesty and loyalty.”

“I’ve only met some of your friends once but I’m not one to back down from a challenge.” He thought back to what he knew about the others. Rarity seems to be going out of her way to make me a suit that could be either kindness or generosity. “Rarity is generosity?”

“Correct only 3 more.”

Hmm Applejack, everything we talked about I could just sense was the truth, I feel like I already trust her. “Applejack is Honesty?”

“Right again.”

The two I know the least about, Rainbow is kindness and Fluttershy is loyalty. “Rainbow is kindness and that leaves Fluttershy as loyalty?” What I didn’t even think that through and I just blurted it out.

“Awwh you almost had you got the last two mixed up. Four out of six isn’t bad though.”

“I’m still amazed that I’m talking with the element of magic you’re a hero Twilight.”

Nova was very interested in some of the other adventures that had occurred, and Twilight was more than happy to retell them though she left out the Nightmare moon incident.

“Twilight I have check back at the inn as I was meant to leave town today though I don’t think I will be doing that now.”

“Stop by the library again at around sunset and we can start on your lessons then.” She said happily knowing that Nova was staying in town.

“Sure thing Twilight I’ll see you there.”

This is disgusting; he seems to becoming more and more friendly with the elements, I will have to find a way to stop this, their influence on him will make it much harder to take control.

First things first I have to stop this thing between him and Twilight. “You did mean what you said didn’t you?” Twilight says to Nova. This is a good chance to end it, “She will flee again”. Darn he didn’t listen again.

Maybe I can use her interest of magic against him to break them apart. “She only wants you for your magic”, again he ignores me though he was a bit more hesitant.

I just need to know if I can influence him, he’s not to sure about this question, maybe if I put all my strength into it. “Rainbow is kindness and Fluttershy is loyalty”, yes he said it without any hesitation, I can definitely do something with this. That did take all my strength out of me though, I must be still quite weak from my awakening.
