Ponies and Dungeons and Dragons!

Chapter 1

Authors note: Be warned, If you don't play D&D, you will barely understand much. And if you want to find out what version I will be using, make an appraise check and you'll be sure to find out. (Knowledge (Entilliumn) check: D20... Success!) [Just pm me and ask. Durr.]

"Twilight, can you come here for a second?" The white equine called to her friend in the other room, for she had seen something strange.

"Not right now Rarity, I'm looking for your book. You did ask for it." Twilight called back.

"But you really must see this."

"Alright, fine."

As the lavender mare walks over to the room her good friend was in, her ears perk up as she hears what sound like a large stone pillar moving. Curious, Twilight looks around her cosy tree library to find out where the noise is coming from. She stops moving and listens to find out where it is. (Perception check: D20... Success!) and she notices it's coming from the room Rarity was in, and continues on.

"Oh, Twilight where are you? Something just happened!"

Twilight sighs and, with a hint of curiosity, asks. "Uh, what was that sound just now? It sounded like something large moving, and I don't have anything in my house like that... Rarity?"

Just as she finishes saying this she'd entered a room full of bookcases covered in large books with multicoloured spines, she notices a big hole where one of the larger bookcases was supposed to be, (Perception check: D20... Success!)and notices that it had moved in front of another bookcase, hiding it entirely from view. (Knowledge (Dungeoneering) check: D20... Fail.) Although she has no idea how this area came to be, she decides not to examin it too long, and decides to go inside the hole. She later finds out, after lighting a torch sconce, that inside the hole was a large stairway.

"Rarity?"

(Perception check: D20... Fail.)

After listening hard, she doesn't seem to notice any sound coming from the sub-basement, and proceeds to walk down the stairs.

Twilight calls out to the mare again.

"Rarity? Can you hear me?"

(Perception check: D20... Success!)

Quietly, as if whispering, he finally hears Rarity's voice.

"Twilight, what do you think is down here?" Sounded her voice from not so far away.

Twilight does a double take and turns around forcefully, almost knocking the unicorn off her hooves. She let out a small yelp as she comes face to face with the one pony she had been looking for in the first place. Bearing an astonished look, Twilight asks:

"Rarity, you could've told me you were behind me. given me a tap on the shoulder or something, I don't know."

"Sorry if I had frightened you. That was very uncouth of me. But I was a little afraid of what was down there."

(Listen check: D20... Success!)

Twilight listens and tries to find out if there's anything strange, but successfully finds out nothing.

"I don't think that there's anything down there except empty space. C'mon, let's just continue down the stairs."

(Spellcraft check: D20... Fail.) (Spellcraft check: D20... Fail) (Spellcraft check D20... Success!)

After attempting to light up her horn multiple times, The Purple unicorn manages to light it up the third time and continues down the now lit up stairs, occasionally checking behind her to make sure the second unicorn is still there.

(Diplomacy check: D20... Success!)

"Rarity, how'd you find this place anyway?" Twilight Sparkle inquired.

"Oh, I don't know, I was looking for the book and couldn't find it, and then I realised how much of a mess I had made looking for it. So then I started cleaning up, and noticed a stain on one of the curtains from the window."

"What."

"And so I decided to clean it."

"With what?"

"I conjured up cleaning supplies, of course. and so, after I had started cleaning, I accidentally pulled on it and I felt... I felt like a terrible chill go down my spine, then, everything began to tremble and then the bookcase moved."

(Gather Information check: D20... Success!)

"But if it began to move right away, why did I hear it move a while after I heard you call me?"

"Oh, that's because I called you as soon as I saw the stain. I was horrified!"

Twilight brings her hoof to her face and slowl shakes her head.

"My, these stairs go down far."

But just as Rarity finished saying that, Twilght feels her hooves hit something soft, familiar.. Dirt. Confused, she sees a torch sconce and lights it right away. This causes a chain reaction through the small cellar, and across the room, ohter torches start to light in pairs, pair by pair. after a short while, all the torches light and the room is filled with a soft warm glow of the magical fire from each of the torches. Twilight, mesmerized by the occurance, walks down the large, dirt floored hallway that was only now visible. (Perception check: D20... Success!) She notices, along the walls, that there are rows among rows of bookcases, each with it's own shelves full of books. There are no cobwebs or dust or any signs of worn out use. Almost as if it were cleaned and taken care of regularly. There is a large sign next to where they had entered, a large doorway with stairs winding all the way up to the library.

"What... What is this place?" Rarity exhales, completely perplexed my the majesty of what she's seeing.

Twilight reads the sign. It reads: 'Fantasy/Fiction Section'

"Huh, I didn't know my library had a fantasy Section. That's interesting, I just remembered that the plaque next to the entrance to it said nothing about this. Strange."

"Twilight, you don't think you can add some of these books to your collection, can you?"

"I can, and probably will. Oh! I almost forgot. Rarity, I was walking down to the room you were in when I found your book. Here you go."

Twilight lifts her brown, cutie mark embedded satchel flap and pulls out a bright blue book. (Spellcraft check D20... Success!) with a small purple glow from her horn, she floats it over to rarity with her magic. Rarity takes it, thanks Twilight, smiles says something but Twilight doesn't take notice. She trots away and back up the stairs.

Well, I was looking for something new to read.. I had already read everything else. And with that, climbs up the stairs behind Rarity. Twilight looks back and notices that the torches all flicker off and the room goes dark.
