Twilight's Responsibility
Chapter 1: A Surprise
Two years ago...
I groaned as I was being kidnapped by three guys in ski masks. At first they were just gonna rob my house and leave, but I accidentally caught them. Well, more like they caught me. I'm stuck in a van as the adults talk about how to get rid of me, without anybody finding the body. I am scared crap less as my drunk father used to say. I didn't know what that meant until now. I wasn't sure whether to say that this was good or bad. Pros of this, I will be able to leave my terrible parents, die, and be in heaven. Cons... Can't think of any.
"Hmm, I know! Why don't we just get another van? Because then, this van will drive off a cliff, and then it wills explodes!" I rolled my eyes at their terrible grammar. They have already tossed this idea about four times now, pick a freaking death. I don't like to cuss, I really don't, but if they're going to kill me then pick a damn death! It's not that hard! I would say this but the crooks tied and gagged me. The three crooks nodded agreeing finally. After two hours of driving, I got bored.
"Mmph mmph mph mph?" I muffled. If I could talk I would have said, "Are we there yet?"
"Shut up! In case yous was wondering, we ain't there yet!" Said the dumbest on. He's the one with the worst grammar. I just sat quietly, waiting for my death that wouldn't be too painful hopefully. They got out soon, and one of them threw a brick onto the gas peddle.
This is it... I thought. A flash of my life went by. The cruel years of my mom, who was usually drunk and a prostitute. Hey it's not a cuss word if it is politically correct. My father, used a belt to whip my back just because I disturbed a dream of his. Why did they even have a baby if they were going to treat it wrong? Oh I know, because that's what I usually was, a mistake. Death, you won't hurt me... I thought, closing my eyes. Then, everything seemed to go in slow motion. I cracked an eye open to see a light, strange. I'm not even dead yet. I saw flames pile in the front of the vehicle. I shut my eyes gently, letting myself either burn alive or blow up into pieces. I felt painful sensations in my leg, but I didn't feel anything else for a second. I then realized that I was falling, the ground came up to me quickly. Before I landed, I heard a hum and I opened my eyes to see an aura. A blue aura at that. I looked up to see a surprised blue horse with a flowing mane, horn, and wings. Well, if this is what death is like I should have died earlier! I looked around to see ponies, all fancy looking in tuxedos, suits, and ties. Wow, horses smarter than the human race. I'm not frankly surprised. I looked at the blue unicorn with wings and waved slowly.
"Hello," I said simply. Everyone gasped, shrieked, or just stared. I kinda chuckled at their reaction. The aura seemed to put me down, and I started realizing my pain. I held my leg that was hurt, hissing at the pain. I think the blue horse is an alicorn now that I think about it. The blue alicorn flew over to me, looking at my leg.
"Is thy leg okay?" It asked. I lied by nodding my head. She knew I was lying because then, the adrenaline started wearing off. I almost yelled in pain when I got to their hospital. As I sat in the hospital bed, the blue alicorn stood by my side, worrying.
"You know I'm fine," I said. I wasn't sure if the alicorn was going to experiment on me, destroy me, or keep me as a pet. I wanted to let her know that I'm not putting up with nonsense like that. I crossed my arms as the pony chuckled
"Thy is fine to thy's point to be in a hospital?" She asked. I nodded to the side agreeing with her.
"Well, I'll heal in a couple of days, then I'll go away," I said. The alicorn raised a questioning eyebrow.
"Don't you want to stay with us? You know, get some food, water, and sleep?" She asked. I shrugged.
"I'll get some scraps," I said. "As for water, I'll take what you got for me," I said rubbing the back of my neck. She smiled, at least knowing I accepted some offer.
"Thy shall get sleep from the hospital, right?" She asked. I nodded. "Great! So, how old are you?" She asks.
"I'm thirteen years old," I said.
"You are smarter than you seem then," the blue alicorn said. "My name is Luna, what is yours?" She asks. I raised an eyebrow.
"Why do you want to know? You won't get any money from me," I said. I said this because when someone asks this on Earth, you get mugged not five seconds later
"I want to know because you're too young to be alone and I won't need to steal from you since I have a throne, along with my sister," Luna said, seeming offended by my response. "Not one for polite answers are you?" She asks.
"Hey, it's 2015. A polite greeting has come down to, 'Screw you you piece of crap, how ya doing?'" I said. It wasn't true, but Luna chuckled at my joke. I smiled. I have never heard a laugh like that before. Every time my parents laughed it was because of some sex joke, me messing up, and when I say something that seems stupid. I frowned remembering that. I sighed and laid back on my bed.
"How do you know cuss words?" She asked, frowning.
"I'm used to it where I used to live," I said. She grew a concerned face and puts a hoof on my arm. I get a funny feeling from it. I shrug the feeling off mentally, and looked around my hospital room. There was a weird machine, beeping and showing a picture of my leg. It was not too bad if I say so myself. The hair barely growing on my leg was singed, my skin was pale, but able to heal because of some nonsense called magic. I sighed seeing the night sky out my window. I realized how beautiful the sky was and gasped in awe. Luna looked in my stares direction. She tilted her head at me.
"Doesn't thy know about stars and moon?" Luna asked. I shook my head.
"I've never seen stars or the moon," I said, smiling. Luna smiled, seeing me enjoy the sight of the night.
"Well, now will you tell me your name?" She asks, smiling. I nodded.
"My name is David, it's nice to meet you," I said. She nods.
"I think we will get along great!" She said.
Present...
"Halt! In the name of Celestia's tea!" Said Seargent Spear, as he was looking around smiling. Me and my mom had just poured hot sauce in my aunt Celestia's tea. We always heard that she liked tea. She did even say she likes any type of tea. Seargent Spear was also in on this, but he just nodded at us smiling like an idiot. He opened the closet, where we were hiding, and lifted me and mom up with magic and tickled us to death! Once we all calmed down, I looked out the window to see that it's time for mom to go to work.
"Oh, it's night time already?" Mom said, noticing as well. The child-like guard saluted to my mom.
"Princess Luna, sorry to say but we must go," he said. My mom nodded, smiling. She turns to me.
" Bye David, and don't forget, there's a pony waiting for you in a few minutes." She said. I nodded. She waved bye to me and left me to my own. I was old enough to be alone, but I usually sneak out and meet up with a made named Octavia by now. Her music calmed me down, and made me sleep at times. She also likes to talk. Her sister DJ Pon3 was in a place called Ponyville. I always wanted to meet her, since my favorite music is techno and dub step. I never met her though, but my mom said that I'm going to have to move out today. I don't know where but I'm going to be moving. I'm half excited and scared. I ran down the hall, and stopped by to give aunt Celestia a hug good bye. She waved as I met with a yellow bat pony. His name was Bonebeat, a Ponyville resident as I heard.
"Hey kiddo, ready to go?" He asks. I nodded and we headed to the train. "So, you're Luna's adopted son?" He asks. I nodded. I noted that he has headphones with eight-bit music symbols.
"Yep! Do you know a pony named DJ Pon3?" I asked, hope piling up.
"Yeah! How'd you guess?" He asks looking at me with a raised eyebrow.
"Just a hunch," I said. He shrugs smiling. We board the train, and I see strange ponies everywhere. From short fillies and colts to tall and elegant adults. A few ponies give me a weird glance. I just wave, knowing that I am one of the only seven humans in Equestria. After seven hours of talk with Bonebeat, the train stops and we get off. He drops me off at a huge castle. I have a letter in one hand to deliver to a princess Twilight. I dunno what's in the letter, but I'll find out when she opens it. I knock on the door. After a couple of minutes a purple dragon opens the door. I take a quick look at him and notice he's somewhat my height, probably around 5' 2".
"Hello? Wha-" he paused. He looked at me better. "Twilight!" He yelled. "A weird thing is at the front door! And he looks like one of those humans you told me about!" He yelled, leaving the door. Soon, a lavender pony opens it, gasping when she saw me. I chuckled slightly.
"Who are you?" She asks.
"I'm David, you must be aunt Twilight Luna told me about!" I said, hugging her. I look at her to see a shocked face. "Um, are you okay? I didn't hug too hard or anything did I?" I ask, worried. She looks me up and down again speechless.
"This isn't possible," she said. I had a confused face and tilted my head. After five minutes go by I wave my hand in front of her face.
"Are you okay? Did I scare you badly or something?" I ask. She snaps back to reality, regains composure and looks at me in the eyes.
"What do you need?" She asks.
"I'm supposed to give you a letter from my mom," I said, handing her a navy envelope. She takes it with her magic and looks over it.
"Who's you're mom?" She asks.
"Well, Luna of coarse," I said. Her eyes go wide and shakes her head.
"Okay, right, just give me a second," aunt Twilight said, opening the letter. She reads it and her jaw drops. She looks at me and then the letter.
"What does it say?" I ask. She hands it to me and I start reading.
Dear Princess Twilight,
I am noticing that as of late, I am started to be required more in princess duties, and David is growing up fast. He's going to soon want to be outside of Canterlot, outside the castle, and out into the world. I am going to hand him over to you to take care of him through school year. At the end of the year, he'll be with me for the summer. I'm sorry that this is sudden, but the press should not know that I am his adopted mother. This is because if all of Equestria knows, he'll be unsafe.
Your friend, Luna.
I stare at the letter in my hand. I put it in my pocket, trying to realize what's going on. I took a deep breath in, and a deep breath out.
"Right," I said. I stared into the sky. "Right," I say again. After a long awkward moment of silence, me and my aunt walked into her home, not sure what to think.

Twilight's Responsibility
Chapter 2: A New School
I sat on my bed, curled up as a human in this world could be. I was surprised by the letter my mom wrote, but I guess it was true. I look up through the window of the crystallized castle and sighed.
"I'm gonna miss you Mom," I said. I cuddled my pillow, which I do not do unless I feel extremely uneasy. Right now I'm scared, what with all the changes. I was nervous about going to the new school, especially since I'm so used to the school at Canterlot. The school there was almost terrible. The only good things there was my usual teacher, and the last bell of the day. I never told my mom what happened, fearing that'd I'd have a target on my back if I did. That, and I want to face it alone, to show that I'm not some weak creature. I started worrying myself to sleep, dreaming peacefully. I then woke up at the Canterlot castle. I look around to see a hallway.
"David," Mom said at one end. I whip my head around. With pure joy I ran up to her and hugged her. She smiled, hugging me back.
"I miss you so much," I said. She strokes my head. In a way, it brought peace. We broke the hug and told eachother our stories of the day. Luna didn't have much, but I did. I explained all that happened. She laughed at Twilight's part of the story. Then, she looks up and sighs.
"I'm going to have to go," she said. I nodded. I woke up with a dragon shaking me. I grabbed him to establish my senses. He smiles when we both stop shaking.
"You are really hard to wake up!" Spike said. I shrug.
"Eh, once you get used to sleep at night, it's like you throw away daytime," I say. He laughs.
"Anyway, it's time to go to school," he said. I felt my heart stop.
"School? When was I enrolled in school? I haven't even been here for a day!" I said.
"Twilight is really quick, believe me," he said. I soon got dressed in clothes. I had on the same clothes I wore yesterday, a checkered shirt with jeans. Mom had some ponies help make clothes for me. I started walking when I found a bookbag with my name on it. I took it and out it on my back smiling at the gift. I walked downstairs, being the master of direction when it comes to this castle. When I got to the bottom, I was met with five ponies I don't recognize. They were bickering when Aunt Twilight cleared her throat. She nodded toward my direction. They all look at me, and sat there in shock. I then realized who they may be.
"Well, I never thought I'd see a little guy like him!" I think Applejack said. I waved slowly smiling.
"Um, hi everypony," I said. Spike walks up, carrying a bookbag as well. I walk out the door as Twilight yells for me to have a good day at school through the chatty ponies. I feel deja vu. Not the good kind either. I paid no heed to it and followed Spike. We walked past a literal gingerbread house, a really tall building with lots of support beams, and then I think we passed a sofa and quill shop. As the dirt road led on, I struck up a conversation.
"So, how long have you been going to school?" I ask.
"Um, I think about two years," he said. Irony.
"Well, I don't think I'll have as much experience," I said chuckling. He looks at me in confusion.
"What do you mean?" He asks. I smiled.
"See, I've only been to home school," I said. He looks at me in shock.
"Really? You've never been able to meet other ponies?" He asks.
"I didn't say that, I had contact, except every time I did, it's always, 'You should bow before my expert presence', or 'Why do you think you'll be able to talk to me?'" I replied. He raises an eyebrow.
"Are the adults better?" He asks. I nod.
"Much, they were always maturer in so many ways. If I had a bit every time an adult wasn't nice, I'd only have two bits!" I said smiling. He keeps looking at me in confusion, but after I didn't explain he shrugs it off. As we finally reach the school, I took a good look at it. It was huge, larger than what Mom had told me. It was also wooden, very firm looking. It also looked like someone's gone overboard with the playground. I stepped to the door, and took a deep breath. I exhaled, slowly walking in.
I look around to see a purple earth pony, with a few smiley faces as a cutie mark. I look to my left to see at least five rows of students. I waved slowly, smiling slightly.
"Ah, you must be the new student Twilight told me about," I'm guessing the teacher said.
"Uh, yes I guess?" I said.
"He's good at rhyming at least!" One random colt said. I couldn't help but laugh. Everyone joined in and I felt half of my worries lift off. The purple pony smiled.
"It's good to know you have a sense of humor! Go ahead young man tell us all your name," she said. I nodded and turned to the class.
"Hi, my name is David, call me Dave for short," I said to everyone. They all smiled and waved.
"Now, class, let's introduce ourselves, I am Cheerilee, the teacher," she said. A blue pegasus with a cyan mane, highlighted with brown stood up.
"Fretus Wing's the name, being awesome is my game!" He said. I couldn't help but chuckle. A green pegasus filly with a darker green mane stood up.
"My name is Ivory, hi," she said as she waved shyly. An orange coated and muddy blond maned filly stands up.
"My name's Applecake! Nice to meet ya!" She said in a slight southern accent. A pale pink filly with a chocolate stood up.
"Hiya! My name is Sugar Spice Pie!" She said. A unicorn colt with a tan coat and purple combed mane stood up.
"I am is Midnight Shine," he said, bowing a little. I bowed a small bit as well. A dark purple unicorn colt with glasses and a jet black mane stood up.
"Mauveine, a pleasure to meet you Dave," he said. An orange pegasus filly with a purple name, which for some reason reminds me of chicken, stood up.
"My name is Scootaloo!" She said. A white and light purple maned unicorn filly stood up.
"I'm Sweetie Bell!" She said. A yellow coated red maned filly stood up.
"I am Applebloom!" She said. I loved these ponies enthusiasm. After what I thought was forever later, everyone had introduced themselves. I was assigned to sit in the front row, and I had apparently been found the day everyone changes seat. I found myself sitting beside Scootaloo and Fretus. Spike's on Fretus' left, Spike is also beside Applecake apparently. I look right to see Applebloom is beside Scootaloo. I look behind me to see Midnight Shine. Beside his right was Mauveine. His left was Ivory. Her right was Sugar Spice. Sweetiebelle was one Mauveine's right. I then put my attention to the front of the class room.
"Alright class, we are going to go ahead and get on to math this morning!" Cheerilee said. Everyone groaned and I had a confident smile. "Our problem will be fun this time! We are going to go over coordinates!" She said. I smiled. "Dave, would you like to go first?" She asks. Fretus pats my back, shaking his head. I chuckle and go up. I started putting inputs and outputs at random. I had accidentally made a smiley face with the coordinates Cheerilee gave me. Everyone snickers. I look at the board and smile.
"Do you guys know what this means!" Sugar Spice asks. Everyone covers their ears. "The smiley is in boardom!" She said. Everyone in the room face palmed. I smiled a little at the over corny joke. Maybe I'll fit in after all.
It has been a blast the past couple of hours. First was math, then science, right now it's lunch! I walk to a table outside, and sat down on one bench. I opened my bag to see a peanut butter sandwich. I smiled brightly and grabbed it. I also found a small can of soda. I felt like I'm a little kid as I bit into the sandwich. Spike sits next to me on the bench.
"So how're you liking school?" He asks.
"I love it!" I said. Fretus comes up with a smile.
"Hiya guys! Mind if I sit here?" He asks, sitting down anyway.
"Why not?" I ask. I then noticed that two alive beings are sitting next to me. In Canterlot I've never really sat with anyone. Well, maybe the other way around, I dunno.
"So I heard you're Luna's adopted son?" He asks. I almost dropped my sandwich.
"How did you know?" I ask. He points a hoof at Sugar Spice, who is dumping hotsauce on her cupcakes.
"She's like a psychic who can read minds. She says it's like she senses stuff, but I don't believe her, anyway that's cool," he says taking a bite out of a homemade hayburger. I stared at the hotsauce on Sugar Spice's cupcakes.
"Is he gonna be okay?" I ask. Fretus nods.
"Well of coarse I'll be okay!" Sugar Spice said. "I'm kind of like a dragon with a fireproof throat!" She says. It took me a minute to register she's there.
"How did you get over here so fast?" I ask. She shrugs. She then sits down besides Fretus. Apple cake comes over with her lunch and Spice's.
"Okay sugar cubes, what's all the fuss?" She asks.
"We're just talking!" Spice says. Applecake smiles.
"In that case, let me join in!" She said. Soon, all the rfirst nine ponies that intrigued me are sitting beside me. I felt like the happiest person here.
Author's Note
Nope, this is not a sequel to Six Broken Hearts!
I'm getting a prediction of what people will ask:
Are you actually serious!?
Why did you make another?
Why are you also trying to predict our comments!?!?
Well, I'm not gonna lie, making these stories are really fun! I'm also really scared about how you guys are gonna react, but nonetheless, go ahead and give me criticism. Or compliments. I'm gonna continue this anyway.
For those wondering:
Yes, these new fillies and colts I mentioned are the original humans sons and daughters!
