This all started when I went to my third convention. Let me describe myself a bit before this all starts.  I have dark brown hair, pale skin and my normal eye coloration is brown. Right now I’m wearing blue eye contacts for my costume. I'm wearing blue jeans, black sneakers, and a grey hoodie, inspired by Alex Mercer's outfit. I decided to go as a female version of Alex with the claw hands. It made things a lot harder to do since I  had massive foot-long claws instead of fingers. I was still missing one thing, the jacket Alex wore. The black color with the swirling red design, so amazing. It was the most important part of the costume because that is what makes him so iconic. I walked around the con with a wallet bulging with money that I have been saving up for the past few months. I was extremely excited for the con. I went around looking for a jacket that looks like the one from the game. Eventually I found a  stand filled to the brim with hyperrealistic props. There were ones from games like Terraria and Monster Hunter! The merchant was creepy though... He wore a black trench coat and spoke in a voice that would give Freddy Krueger nightmares. “Hello stranger, see something that catches your eye?” I then saw my Holy Grail. The jacket was there. “How much for the Prototype jacket?” I asked pointing at it with claw. “That would be 40 dollars,” I did a girly squeal .I couldn't believe it, the ones online were at least 60! “I’ll take it!” Responded me. I also handed him the money. “Excellent.” He said in his creepy voice. He handed me the jacket. As I took off the fake claws, I felt a pain in my skull flare up out of nowhere. I put the jacket on, my worst mistake. The pain intensified.. As soon as I put the claws back on I immediately felt worse and fell through the ground. Yes, through the  ground. There was a swirling red and black portal where I fell. I woke up in the middle of a crystalline city. Everywhere I looked I saw colorful horses. Wait, horses? They looked semi-intelligent for some reason. Seemingly out of nowhere, my headache came back with a friend. I felt something strong inside of me straining against its bonds, almost eating me from the inside out. I put my… claws(?!?) to my face. Wait, wait just a minute. No! I don’t have claws! I have shitty foam homemade claw gloves, ones that I have to slide on, not razor sharp metal real ones! I had a feeling on what was coming, Devastator starts like this! I tried to get to a secluded area. I ran over to a giant crystal castle that was fully black, probably not a good idea to go to a castle to be alone, I’m not a smart cookie. Anyways, I couldn’t get away from all of the horses, they were everywhere. When I ran into a room to try to escape, I found a single grey... unicorn? I guess. It really looked evil. The unicorn had a curved, sharp horn, a crown and a cape. That bastard was whipping a female unicorn! The female one was a green color with a blue mane. The female was… moaning? She sounded excited but it also sounded like she was in pain. “I’m just gonna go…” I say to myself awkwardly with reddening cheeks. I got the ponies attention at least. A moment later, huge amounts of black and red tendrils flew out of my body. I felt some of them spear into the two of them. I could taste them as if the tendrils were an extension of my mouth. The unicorn tasted like a bunch of Nacho Cheese Doritos at once. Delicious. The female tasted really, really nasty though, almost like the Universe didn’t like me consuming her. I felt new knowledge and abilities inside of me. I [Somber Rays, or Sombra] trotted into the room of my sweet Belle. She was doing her mane, she looked so beautiful.. “Hello sweetie, how was your day?” ‘Was I seeing through this pony’s eyes?’  I thought to myself. Crystal Belle, the snow-white colored unicorn with a light blue mane, replied. “It was marvelous, darling, the other ponies were so jealous when I walked into the room with that dress. You must tell me how you made it later.” I… no, Sombra nodded. “I’m telling you, it was a special method of finding crystals in the ground, corresponding to my mark. Maybe I’ll learn how to teach you in the future.” I hope he did. That would be cool. “That would be marvelous, darling.” My vision of that place started to fade. I woke up in the middle of two equines. One was white with a sun on it’s butt. It also had a rainbow mane. It looked like there were small lights within. The other one was a deep blue with ink and the moon on its ass. They both have wings and a horn. Maybe they’re winged unicorns. The white one was wielding a spear. Sighing, I said “What I do?” I always had to have stupid remarks and I didn’t know what I may have done, well, I did just killed a sentient horse or two, maybe that’s what happened. It gets me into trouble when I don’t think of all the outcomes. “Where is Dusty Feather, creature?” That’s rude, Sun Horse just called me a creature.  The name did spark some recognition within me though. It was the maid I killed. “...I, accidentally... ate, her I guess. I also ate that black one, Sombrero I think it was? No, that’s a type of hat. It was Sombra.” They were looking more and more horrified. This is not good. Sun Horse looked at the Moon Horse. “This creature defeated the Tyrant Sombra? It may be a danger to our ponies!” “Hello, I’m right here Sun Horse. You could be less rude you know.” She looked astonished that I called her that. The Moon Horse looked like she was about to kill someone, namely me. “Thou shalt treat mine sister with the respect befitting her station as a diarch!” She looked pissed beyond belief. Well looks like my time to make things worse, “So what are you then, Moon Horse?” She steamed, literally, like steam came out of her ears. “Giant Oversized Dicks! How does that work?!” She snapped out of it and blushed. Sun Horse looked mad now. Maybe the Moon Horse is her girlfriend or something. Her horn started to glow. It looked hard, real hard. I felt something like the portal that I was just tossed through, minutes before. I saw a yellow portal under me, and I was thrown out in a hellish location with a large metal building in the distance, shit. “What are you doing outside your cell prisoner? It has held everything else!” I deadpanned at it. I don’t answer to no damn demons. It did not like it. “I will force you back in there if I have to!” It stabbed me. I grew my claws, not of my own volition though. I lashed out, it was cut in half. Tendrils shot out from me. I… consumed, the demon. I felt something odd. I felt something in my arm so I tried to change it and the claws melted away. What the shit? How did that fucking work? I turned into the black pony from before, that I killed. Huh. Wait... Did I just become a monster? I think I did, did I? Fuck. I’m a fucking monster. I tried to walk and ended up tripping onto my face. Having four legs sucks. I tried to start walking again. It worked after a few times. I walked around the ashen landscape. The metal building in the distance was fucking massive. I continued to walk around. Thoughts of my looming monstrous self looming in my brain. I tried something just to see how well I'd do. I ran. I ran for about five seconds, my face hit the ground soon after. There was a puff of dust and my face didn’t hurt for some reason. I transformed back into my original form in a wave of tendrils. I felt each individual part of my outfit. I looked like a beast. A monster. I felt like one too. I proceeded to sprint to the metal building and ran up the side. Some of the demons flew out at me. They hit me off of the wall. I grabbed a few of them and consumed them as i fell. I felt more biomass settle inside of me. I felt something I could do. I could make myself more agile. I started running and I felt the ground under my feet more then one should, almost as if my shoes were part of me. I ran and killed some more of the demons that were flying at me by decapitation. I lost track of time for a very long time. 50 Years Later I felt like a bitch when I consumed the Guardian. I then looked through the memories of it. It tortured and killed so many creatures. So many beings. It and all of its brethren were the same. I slowly started to feel better about me being a Prototype. I wasn’t a Runner because I hadn’t lost any of my mental functions. I wasn’t fully alright with it though. I ran along a path that I’ve been on many times. There were tons of Guardians along the path. I jumped to each one. I still haven’t found out how to make myself have the dash that Mercer has. I want it. I consumed all of them with an stab through the skull with my claws. I continued to run. I hadn’t got tired for all the time I’ve been here. I then saw a really bloated creature in the sky. It looked different than the Guardians. It almost looked like a living hot air balloon. I jumped up to it with a simple flex of my legs. It was massive. I was flying through the air towards the giant creature. When I landed on it it tried to shake me off. I had to use a claw to keep myself from falling. It doesn’t damage me, but it is still annoying. When I stabbed it it popped and sent out a bunch of gas. It was just normal air. I don’t need to breathe but I can if i want to. But it was still clearer than the normal air. My tendrils came out of their own accord. I felt knowledge pour through me. Knowledge of propulsion through the air with my own body. Wait... “Yes! Finally, I got it!” I cheered I proceeded to fall. As I neared the ground I dashed up. I landed with less force than I would have from that height that it could have been. I continued along the path. I made it back to the start of the path and started running it again. 75 Years A.B.(After Banishment) I had been running for a massive amount of time. I hadn’t aged at all for some reason, my normal face was there when I looked into my reflective claws, blue eyes included. The floating gas sack hadn’t returned yet. I continued the beaten path. I had dug a trail into the ground from sprinting on this path for 65 years. I still hadn’t gotten tired. Maybe the tower would be a good idea again. I went back to where I memorized the position of the tower from ten years of failed attempts. The grey metal obelisk stretched up in front of me. I started running and I dashed to the Guardian. I stabbed it and I couldn’t get my claws out. I fell to the ground and made a crater. I consumed the bastard that did this to me.  I ran up again. I dashed to another one that popped up. Claws got stuck again. Stuck. Again. Stuck. Again. Stuck. Again. I got my claws out but was expecting not to so I ended up falling to the ground anyways. And again. Stuck. Again. Stuck. Again. Stuck. It happened again and I consumed it. I fell to the ground because I had no propulsion. Again. Stuck. Again. I succeeded and  spring-boarded off of it, my face hit the tower. I fell. Again. I succeeded but because I had always failed at least once I fell again. I consumed all of the bodies on the ground. Again. I spring-boarded off of it and failed to twist my body enough. I careened to the ground. I fed the Blacklight some more and felt like my tendrils were able to consume while moving. Again. Flipped off of it and my angle was perfect but the sensations from the consuming after I jumped from it were too much and I fell again. Again. I actually landed on the tower but I couldn’t continue the motion. I decided to run the track some more. As I ran I was introspective. James Heller wasn’t a monster. He kept his morals and his thoughts. Maybe I don’t have to be a monster. I then remembered the torture room. I had forgotten the room when I first was outside of it. The torturer blanked my memory for a while, but it came back in small bursts over time. I was held down to a metal table by a mysterious force.  I had only tested the force when I woke up in the room. Cuts were crisscrossed on my skin. I wasn’t healing for some odd reason. I felt the pain and was glad. I was a monster and I deserved it. An otherworldly looking biped was beside me. He was tall and a blue color. It looked like he was made of a type of energy. He had a scalpel in his hand. “Do you think that this is harsh?” I shook my head. “Then I’ll just have to crank it up,” A drill appeared in its hand. He drilled into my flesh, or tried to. But the upgraded flesh blocked it. It put a diamond drill cap on it. It drilled into me again. The pain was weaker than the scalpel. It was getting weaker over time. I saw memories flash into my mind. Memories that I had buried. Memories of my previous life. Of my kindness towards others. “Does that person deserve this?” I shook my head. "That person is long gone. Only a monster remains,” My voice was weak and coarse. I hadn’t had water for a while. He drew out a diamond-tipped hacksaw. He sawed into my flesh with the hacksaw. “Yet you still separate yourself from the virus. Does that sound like a thing a monster would do?” He continued sawing. I strangely felt no pain. Memories forced themselves into my mind and embedded themselves there. Memories of when I was a human. Memories of Alyssa. “You hold true regret for what you have done. You may leave,” A door popped up behind him and the mysterious force holding me down ceased. I hadn’t struggled since I got there. I shook my head, tears of blood in my eyes. I was warped out of the room with my memories wiped of that encounter as well as my emotions attached to the murders. I continued running. The thing it was trying to say to me, he forgave me? No. It was saying that I wasn’t as much of a monster because I felt grief. That didn’t make me feel better at all. I ran harder onto the path most traveled...
