Prologue (UNDER HEAVY REMAKE)
"Come on he went this way!"
"We have to get him before he gets away!"
"Please he's not getting aw-ARRRGH!"
The invaders turn staring in shock from their ally who now hung limply a sword impaling him. The other two snap out of their stupor before they run. They keep going only for one of the others to get grabbed. He’s dragged into the shadows a scream of agony accompanying this. The last one gets out of the death run of a tunnel only to hear the click of a shotgun firing. He drops to the ground dead the person who shot him stepping out of the shadows.
"I warned you all to leave me alone."
A zombie wearing a leather tunic shambles up to the shooter.
"Lord Necrotos we have a problem."
" What is it?" asked Necrotos. Necrotos was the last of his kind a necromancer. They had been hunted and persecuted by the church for committing treason against god.
"The church’s army is coming they've made it past the gate and are breaking through the guards."
"WHAT! Stop them at all costs use whatever we have I need more time to finish the spell." commanded Necrotos. Turning back towards the ritual he was doing
"Yes my lord." The zombie shambles off drawing an old and rusted sword.
Necrotos raises more undead to hold back the church while he finished this ritual. If this ritual did what he hoped it would he should be able to travel through dimensions and escape his constant life of fight or flee.
Necrotos looks at the old scroll reading through the ingredients. "Alright just one more ingredient let's see ah here it is werewolves fang." Necrotos mumbled to himself while grabbing the ingredient.
He addes the last ingredient a portal opening. The portal was a swirling rainbow vortex with six symbols lining the borders of the vortex. Just as it finishes opening the doors burst open to reveal 3 paladins from the church. One was armed with a simple bow and arrows, the next was duel wielding desert eagles while the last was armed with a grenade launcher made for one round at a time.
"Freeze Necrotos your life ends here. You may have escaped us in the past but not today." The head paladin states his deagles pointed at Necrotos.
"Please you know that I can't die. But you ca-" Necrotos tried to say the head paladin silencing him by opening fire. The third paladin lets his arrow fly it now jutting out Necrotos’s right side. The final paladin smirks before pulling the trigger and firing the grenade. The blast launches him back into the portal. Necrotos was the last Necromancer, but he survived this long because of what he sealed inside of himself. A dragonic shadow demon that calls for its dragon brothers and sisters to kill Necrotos freeing him. If their was one thing he hated more then this damned Necromancer it was the church. Using what power it can it lashes out killing the paladins and destroying the portal. Within Necrotos mind he hopes that wherever he lands he will finally find peace. When he emerges from the portal he feels the wind ripping past him. He weakly looks down seeing the ground approaching fast. Reacting on instinct he wills his form to change becoming a dragon. Unable to focus completely through the pain he received he barely is able to spread his wings and slow his descent. He smashes into a forest flattening multiple trees. He attempts to rise only for his vision to swim. He changes back and looks at his still bleeding arrow wound. He sways before collapsing the blood loss being to grate. Darkness swallows him his last thought being, ‘I will not die. Not yet.’
Author's Note
So I am an idiot. I rewrote most of the chapter and was very happy with what I did. I then accidently closed the web page...with out saving. The word count had gone up a lot more. and now its back to the original.
