It was a normal morning in equestria; And even more normal for the detective. he went about his daily routine, He woke up, Got dressed, and made himself some breakfast. Detective had no idea one heck of an adventure would lie just minutes away...
[RING RING RING] On the phone.
"Ugh, Who is it now?" Detective said.
The detective got up from his couch, and walked to the corner of the room. To the location of his phone.
"Hello?" Detective said.
"DETECTIVE! I Need to speak with you immediately!" Celestia said.
"I'm not really feeling it, to be honest." Detective replied.
"This is extremely important! You have no choice." Celestia said.
"Nope. Obviously not important enough." Detective replied.
"My personal assistant should be picking you up. Head outside of the apartments. I Hope you can handle that much." Celestia said.
"Ugh, fine." Detective said.
Detective hung up the phone, and walked outside his apartment. There was a hallway, stretching both directions. Left, and Right. Detective walked down the right path to the elevator.
"Man, I Haven't seen celestia since....I Don't even Remember the last time i saw her." Detective said.
Detective stepped inside the elevator, And rode down to the lobby. After about 2 minutes of riding in the elevator, he finally reached the lobby, Detective stepped outside the elevator.
"G'day mate! The good Dr. Tamid is waiting outside." The Secretary said.
The detective walked outside the apartments.
"Ah! Detective! Good to meet you. I, Am Dr. Tamid." Tamid said.
"You're Ms. Celestia's personal assistant?" Detective asked.
"Yes, That would be me! I'm also the head of equestria's science and labs." Tamid replied.
"Enough talk! Let's get this show on the road!" Detective said.
"Of course, Sorry sir." Tamid replied.
Detective and Dr. Tamid stepped inside the chariot.
"It is a short drive to Canterlot industries. And i must warn you i don't know exactly what celestia is up too." Tamid said.
"No problem, I'll just enjoy the ride!" Detective replied.
"On the way to canterlot industries, you do get to see the ruins of ponyville!" Tamid said.
"I Know." Detective said.
[Flashback]
"It takes you back, doesn't it. Detective?" Young celestia said.
"I'm not sure...Wait, What?" Detective said.
"Someday, the town of ponyville will lie in ruins. War is among us, detective." Young celestia said.
"War is among us? I Thought Cadence was just being mean." Detective said.
"My plans for the future are flawless, i just haven't built the trust yet. I've placed a document inside the storage room for you to read. After that, i won't need you for a while. I May be an old woman the next time we meet detective." Celestia said.
Detective exited celestia's throne room, a big meeting room was just beyond. There were two doors. One on the left, and on the right. The left door was labeled 'Storage Room' So detective entered the left door.
Inside was a huge room full of boxes, storage crates, Cargo containers.
"Now wheres that book?" Detective whispered to himself.
Detective noticed the book tucked in between two boxes.
"Ah! Here it is!" Detective said.
Detective picked up the book, and started reading it.
"What you are about to read is classified. So classified, that i don't DARE Put this on any computer. After Canterlot industries mines all of equestria's resources, the government expects me to fly out the rest of the Mares, and stallions to their perfect, new, colony. I Have seen their colony, detective. And my plans are much better. All i need you to do is hunt down anyone who tries to stop me, and kill them. I Have little to give you as of now, Oh yeah. I've purchased you an apartment in manehatten. You will be staying there for a while." The Book read.
[End of Flashback]
1: The Great Canterlot Industries
The chariot passes through the ruins of ponyville.
"Wow. this looks depressing." Detective said.
"Yeah, this poor place was torn apart by war. doesn't make a difference though. It was just as insignificant as Las Pegasus." Tamid said.
They rode the chariot four about 15 minutes when The Great Colony of Canterlot Industries came into view.
"Woah. this place is cool!" Detective said.
"Yep, she's a beauty, isn't she?" Tamid replied.
The chariot pulled into a garage, on the ground floor.
"Oh, it seems I'm needed elsewhere immediately." Tamid said.
"Wow, i haven't ever been here before!" Detective said.
"All you have to do is get to celestia's office. you may just have to wonder a bit." Tamid said.
"It's fine, I'm sure i can find it." Detective replied.
"Farewell!" Tamid said.
The chariot backed out of the garage and drove away.
There was an elevator that the detective stepped into, And he rode up into the main tower.
The elevator arrived into the main room.
The main room was huge. the walls we're covered in pictures saying: "Justice, Truth, Silence," And "Aunt Knows Best."
"Wow! this is nothing how i expected it to look." Detective said
Detective walked by an air duct, when he heard voices coming from inside.
The detective crawled inside the vent, And at the end there was an office. Inside the office were three pony's.
"What's going on here?" Detective mumbled to himself.
"There doesn't seem to be anything here, rainbow! Inform me if tamid does anything that seems...Odd." Celestia said.
"Of course, Ms. we always seem to avert the odds. but i think you might be the one acting odd." Rainbow dash said.
"Careful what you say around here, Rainbow. The walls have ears...Say, the node cluster in the mechosuit needs repairs." Celestia said.
"Oh, we should go fix that!" Twilight sparkle said.
"Really? Are you to REALLY Going to start talking about sciencey things in front of me?" Rainbow dash said.
"Science effects us all, rainbow. come now, twilight. Let's fix that mechosuit cluster. Rainbow, open canterlot industries for business." Celestia said.
"Alright. Security, back online!" Rainbow dash said.
The air duct sealed right in detectives face. Detective exited the vent.
Detective wasn't sure what he just saw. but went outside of tamids office, to question rainbow dash.
"Detective, right?" Rainbow dash said.
"What's it to you?" Detective said.
"Hardly anything get's by me around here." Rainbow dash said.
"True that." Detective said sarcastically.
"Something you need, detective?" Rainbow dash asked.
"Yeah, why were you searching tamids office?" Detective asked.
"Wait, what? How do you know that?" Rainbow dash asked.
"This place isn't as secure as you think." Detective said.
"I...I'll keep that in mind." Rainbow dash said.
"You do that, Now answer the question." Detective said.
"The only reason i was in there was because celestia was!" Rainbow dash said.
"What does it matter? Celestia does what she wants." Detective said.
"You don't understand! She's replacing all my troopers with robots, I Can't let her do that!" Rainbow dash said.
"Sounds like you're just afraid of technology!" Detective said.
"She's become more insane every day, why don't you talk to her? she's in the labs." Rainbow dash said.
"Fine!" Detective said.
The detective turned around, and walked away. Eager to get back to business, he walked up a staircase, and into the labs. Inside, the primary color was white, for the lab. test chambers behind every wall, and at the end of the hallway was an elevator. the detective rode the elevator up.
At the top of the elevator, was one of the main testing rooms. there were virtual reality machines everywhere.
"And the great detective finally arrives! Hilariously enough though, you just missed celestia." Twilight said.
"Yes, "Hilarious" That's the word." Detective said.
"Oh, just simply wait here for celestia, but while you're here, why not help me test something?" Twilight said.
"It's not like I've got anything better to do." Detective said.
"Great! Just step inside one of these machines and you're good to go!" Twilight said.
"Okay." Detective said.
The detective stepped inside one of the machines, and the machine activated.
Detective stepped inside the machine, and it activated. The detective found himself inside a virtual reality. the reality looked like a beautiful forest.
"Alright, all you need to do is survive. I'm going to set up waves of bots for you to fight off." Twilight said.
"What happens if i die?" Detective asked.
"Then you will just respawn. I'm still setting up the waves, In the mean time, why don't you test out some weapons?" Twilight said.
"Why not?" Detective said.
The detective wondered around the beautiful forest. He came across many cabins, old sheds, etc. inside one of the cabins was a series of weapons. (Blades, guns.)
"Ah, this is....odd." Twilight said.
"What happened?" Detective said.
"It is like the system is blocking me out!" Twilight said.
"I Don't want to be a part of this anymore!" Detective said.
"It's fine. I Spawned some more weapons in a cabin by the lake." Twilight said.
The detective followed the narrow forest path, to the beautiful lake. He entered a lakeside cabin and it was full of more weapons.
"I'm sorry, detective. I Should have let you out of there." Twilight said.
"What did celestia want me for originally?" Detective asked.
"She wanted you to fix the many problems here. And you still can! But first, you need to survive. I'm heading down the tower right now, meet me at the base of the tower!" Twilight said.
Suddenly,
[BOOM, BOOM, BOOM.] The tower started collapsing. Ceilings falling, windows shattering, the whole place was falling apart! The detective exited the machine, and rode the elevator down. before the elevator could reach the exit floor, the strings broke and the elevator fell to the bottom of the shaft. Detective ran through the maze-like corridors of the labs, after what felt like hours of running, detective finally found an exit. Behind the the exit, was a training dojo.
"Ah, Detective! You're just in time to see my beautiful dojo fall to pieces!" Rainbow dash said.
"Is this your fault??" Detective shouted.
"Get a grip, the floors are falling out from under us! You can point hooves after the fall!" Rainbow dash said.
"If you didn't do this, then who did? Wheres twilight?" Detective said.
"She just passed through here. Make you're way to the base of the tower." Rainbow dash said.
The detective bolted to the other side of the dojo. And ran through another series of maze-like corridors. At the end, there was a garage.
"Detective! So good to see you! Could you help me with something?" Guard-1029 said.
"As long as it's quick!" Detective said.
"I Need you to grab that wrench over there, i need to fix my gun." Guard-1029 said.
"Nobody cares about you're stupid gun, we need to get moving!" Detective said.
"You don't understand! This gun could help a lot!" Guard-1029 said.
"Ugh, fine!" Detective said.
Detective walked over to the location of the wrench, And he picked it up. When suddenly, a helicopter came to the garage door, and started shooting rapidly.
"What the-" Detective shouted.
The helicopter kept shooting, and shooting. Detective and Guard-1029 hid behind a pile of boxes.
"What should we do?" Detective asked.
"...Shoot it." Guard-1029 said.
"But we need to fix that gun, it could help us!" Detective said.
"DO IT!!!!....Just, DO IT!!!!" Guard-1029 said.
"You can fix it, I'm not risking my life!" Detective said.
"Fine, I'll do it!" Guard-1029 said.
The guard made a run for the gun. All he had to do was tighten a few bolts, and it was completed.
"DETECTIVE, HEADS UP!!" Guard-1029 said.
The guard throws the gun towards detective. The detective quickly hops out from behind the boxes, and starts aiming for the helicopter. Suddenly, the helicopter started deploying bots. The detective, and guard-1029 started shooting bots immediately.
"Detective, i don't think we'll be able to handle them all!" Guard-1029 said.
"You're right!" Detective said.
An elevator opened up behind detective, and the guard.
"Detective, we could escape!" Guard-1029 said.
"Yeah, i kinda saw that." Detective said.
"Let's go!" Guard-1029 said.
Detective and the guard started running for the elevator. Then a bot grabbed guard-1029's leg.
"Agh, detective! HEELP!" Guard-1029 said.
The detective has two choices, he could run for the exit, and leave the guard behind. Or, he could save the guard. He chooses to make a run for it.
"Detective, the backstabber!" Guard-1029 said.
The detective watched as the bots threw the guard into the helicopter, and the bots started running for detective. When the bots got close to the elevator door, the detective closed it, and rode the elevator down.
The detective felt bad about the decisions he made. But then, he started to wonder: What's at the bottom of the elevator?
I Guess we'll just have to find out.
The detective hopped into the elevator. he felt bad about leaving Guard-1029. But what was at the bottom of the elevator? The detective rode the elevator to the bottom.
The elevator doors opened. behind them, was the main room. a round-room, 4 hallways Each one leading to a different room. The armory, The elevator, The generator room, And the overseers room.
"Detective! We thought we lost you!" Guard-1038 said.
The detective continued walking.
"And the great detective has survived! I Knew you could do it! I'm sure you could use some rest. However, we need you back in the action right now!" Twilight said.
"Do you understand what i have just been through?" Detective replied.
"I Know detective, and I'm sorry. but we need you. You are the future." Twilight said.
"Alright, The overseers room is close by. but it is blocked by a blast door. All we need you to do is turn on the generator to lift that door." Twilight said.
"Why do we need to get to the overseer?" Detective said.
"We can supersede celestia's failing system if the overseer is on our side." Twilight said.
"Okay." Detective said.
As the detective was waking to door 003, the one with the generators, guard-6576 stopped him, and decided to talk.
"Kind of a strangely welcoming, isn't it, Detective? Feels almost like a home." Guard-6576 said.
"What is this place?" Detective asked.
"During the war, they say that celestia, and many other great scientists worked down here. I'm just not sure what they worked on." Guard-6576 said.
"Celestia isn't a scientist, is she?" Detective asked.
"I'm sure about that either. I Don't think celestia ever had an official job. She just traveled the world and worked on all sorts of things." Guard-6576 said.
"You sound like you don't think celestia is the villain." Detective replied.
"Listen detective; I Don't know very much about the great celestia, but why would she destroy something she worked so hard to create?" Guard-6576 said.
The detective turned around, and walked away. he thought guard-6576 was crazy. he entered door 003, And was on his way to the generator.
Halfway to the generators, was a big room. Complete with columns, and carpets. The ceiling was so high the detective couldn't even see it.
"What is this place?" Detective asked himself.
Suddenly, the doors slammed behind him. The detective was trapped. And then, out of no-where, a Megabot appeared.
"What the-" Detective said to himself.
"Stallion, detected. Extermination required." Megabot said.
"Agh!" detective said.
The megabot started shooting towards detective. The detective jumped out of the way, and hid behind a column.
"You can run, but you can't hide." Megabot said.
The detective thought he wasn't going to make it. He noticed a gun. but is was at the next column, Which was 5 feet away. The detective decided he was going to make a run for it.
The detective ran. And he made it to the next column. he picked up the gun, And jumped out of hiding.
"Eat this, Megabot!" Detective shouted.
The detective immediately started shooting the megabot.
"Stop that." The megabot said.
The detective shot his left arm off.
"Take that!" Detective said.
The detective shot his right arm off.
"Repairs required. Limbs disconnected." Megabot said.
The detective kept shooting. The detective shot the megabot right in the neck, And the head disconnected.
"Severe damage detected. Shutting...Down....." Megabot said as he shut down.
"Alright! Now wheres that generator?" Detective said to himself.
The doors opened up behind detective. he could now make is way to the generators.
After walking for what felt like hours, the detective arrived at a huge blast door. Above the door, was a sign.
"Generators for doors 001, 002, 003, and 004." The sign read.
The detective entered the door.
Inside, there were 4 generators. generator 001, 002, 003, and, of course, 004.
Door 004 was the door that lead to the overseer. so that must be the generator that was broken.
The detective went over to generator 004. and the core reactor was busted.
"Oh, that's not that hard to fix." Detective said.
The detective picked up the broken core reactor, and took it back to the main room.
"Today's our day detective, we need to fix the generator to raise that blast door!" Dr. Tamid said.
"What do you think I'm doing? The core reactor is busted." Detective replied.
"Spare reactors are found in room 002, the armory." Tamid said.
The then, entered room 002. Inside, was a huge training dojo. Similar to the one rainbow dash was in. The walls were lined with weapons, armor stands were all over the room.
"This looks cool!" Detective said to himself.
On the complete other side of the room, were the spare reactors. the detective picked one of the reactors up, and walked back to the generators.
"That was easier then i thought!" Detective said.
The detective walked back into the main room.
The detective had just replaced the generator. Now it's time to end this once, and for all! The detective walked to tamid, and twilight.
"Alright, so it is simple. We restart the system, and flood the valley once again so it can be renewed." Tamid said.
"What?... We can't flood this! Years of technology went into building this! We can't just destroy it!" Twilight said.
"It is our duty to start a new future on this world. but first, we must start from scratch once again." Tamid said.
"I'm sorry Dr. tamid, but you are wrong. We can't just destroy things every time it doesn't go our way." Twilight said.
"Look, we only have one shot at this! We cannot mess this up." Tamid said.
"That is why we let the detective decide." Twilight said.
"...Me?" Detective replied.
"Yes, You!" Twilight, and Tamid said simultaneously.
The detective entered room 004, the location of the overseer. It's time to end this once, and for all!
"Detective...The one with the choice. Twilight, and Dr. Tamid want you to decide the future. However, i don't trust you. How do i know you're on our side?" The overseer said.
"Ugh, what's the catch?" Detective asked.
"Let's do a multiple choice question! I Already know the villain since i see, and hear everything in this facility. So i will give you 4 pony's to choose from. Twilight Sparkle, Dr. Tamid, Princess Celestia, Or Rainbow Dash." The overseer said.
"What happens if i pick the wrong pony?" Detective asked.
"If you pick the correct pony, then i will give you the system reset codes for canterlot industries, And allow you to decide what we do next." The Overseer said.
"Tell me something about celestia." Detective asked.
"Ms. Celestia only cares about herself. Her plan may be a mystery on it's own, but i don't think she would be afraid to destroy canterlot industries if needed." The overseer said.
"How about rainbow?" Detective asked.
"Rainbow dash isn't very smart. I Think she destroyed canterlot industries as a last resort in order to stop celestia from replacing all her troops with bots." Overseer said.
"Tell me a little bit about Dr. Tamid." Detective asked.
"Dr. Tamid used to love technology. but i think he has become tired of celestia's plans. He decided to destroy canterlot industries and build a tech-free world." The overseer said.
"Welp, you know the jist." Detective said.
"Twilight sparkle is not the leader of anything. She has to listen to everyone else. by destroying canterlot industries, i think she will be able to do what she has wanted." The overseer said.
"Well, the only valid villain here is celestia, so i pick her! Ms. Overseer!" Detective said.
"Celestia?! You thought celestia would be the villain? I Feel sorry for you. Foolishly living your life like a detective, Almost as foolish as the overseer!" Tamid said.
"What the-" Detective said.
"The overseer doesn't have the restart codes. Only that selfish celestia has them. I Will have to go to the top of the tower to get them. I Don't need you after all." Tamid said.
"What's that remote you're holding?" Detective shouted.
"ANYWAYS, I've wasted enough time. This remote controls the bots objectives to follow my every command. And not even the overseer is protected against it! Enjoy your last moments, oh wise and powerful detective. Hahaha, Sarcasm. It eludes us all.... BOTS! REMOVE THE DETECTIVE!" Tamid said.
The overseers eyes turned red.
"Oh no! this is bad!" The detective said.
The overseer grew guns out of her hooves, She started shooting at detective.
"Agh!" The detective shouted.
The detective was shocked that the overseer turned sides so quickly. Then, he noticed a gun. It looked like the one that guard-1029 needed repaired. The detective picked it up, And started shooting the overseer.
"Take that!" The detective shouted.
Suddenly, Rainbow dash smashed through the doors.
"What the-" Detective shouted.
"EAT THIS!" Rainbow said with frustration.
Rainbow dash, and detective kept shooting at the overseer. It was like a mini war!!
"Detective, get out of here! Get to safety!" Rainbow shouted.
"bu-but.." Detective said.
"GET OUT!" There's a secret panel in that wall to your left! Use it to escape!" Rainbow shouted as she shot the overseer rapidly.
The detective ran for the panel. Detective thought it was going to lead him to a safe room, but before he knew it, He felt a cool breeze.
"Whah?" Detective said.
He felt the cool breeze on his face, He felt a warm grass on his hooves. He took a breath, and fresh air filled his lungs. He opened his eyes, and saw a beautiful world with no technology.
"Woah..." Detective said.
The detective snapped out of it, and needed to return to the building to stop tamid!
The detective turned his back towards the grassy fields. He re-entered the colony, and ready to get back to work!
The detective ran back into the colony, with the main room destroyed, He had to find his way to an exit.
Two of the four rooms were destroyed. The overseers room, and the elevator.
"I Can't escape through the elevator..." The detective mumbled.
The detective looked around, and spotted an exit......Sort of... It was a vent. it led straight to the labs! The detective crawled through the vents.
After what felt like hours of crawling through the vents, he finally made it to the labs.
The escape alarms were on, and nobody was in sight. It made sense, the place was collapsing!
The detective wondered through the maze-like halls of the labs, Trying to find any sign of life, but there was nothing.
Eventually, the detective came across a huge room. There was an elevator that led straight to celestia's office! The place that tamid was going too! Celestia's office also had the reset codes!
The detective hopped into the elevator, and the doors closed.
As the elevator started going up, there was something in the elevator. It was a book?
"What is that?" The detective asked himself.
He picked up the book, and brushed off the dust, it was labeled "Overseers diary" What was the overseers diary doing in this elevator?... The detective opened up the book.
"(Entry 1) Twilight came to talk to me again today. I Told her i see and hear everything that happens here, So she doesn't have to come up here to tell me something. Twilight smiled, and replied "Wheres the fun in that? I Already talk to the walls when I'm alone. (Entry 2) Tamid's spending a lot of time in his office writing a book. I'm not sure what he's doing, But i plan to send celestia and our commander to check it out. (Entry 3) The detective arrived today. It's been awhile. I Don't really trust him, But if celestia's okay with him, I'm okay with him. (Entry 4) That traitor tamid, He wont know what hit him!" The overseers diary read.
The detective closed the book.
"She knew it was tamid all along??" The detective said with confusion.
Suddenly, the elevator stopped. And the doors opened. What could be lying at the top?
