Sonic Rain-kaboom
Stalls in the Distance
Load Full StoryRainbow Dash took off, flying high into the sky. She looked at the sun setting in the distance, and the clouds dotting the sky, and smiled.
Rainbow Dash looked over Ponyville, to all of her friend’s houses. Seeing all the ponies walking about, having fun on the weekend, a smirk appeared on her face.
“Yeah, they won’t even see it coming,” she thought, and flew up onto a small cloud before looking to Sugarcube Corner.
Behind the pegasus, a mass of yellow, pink and blue balloons appeared. Pinkie Pie slowly floated behind her friend, and floated right behind her, looking down as well. Rainbow Dash huffed.
“C’mon Pinks, where are you?” she asked herself, staring at the confectioners’ below.
“I’m right here Dashie,” Pinkie Pie said, grinning. Rainbow Dash let out a yell, and fell off the cloud, before catching herself.
“Pinks!” the pegasus yelled, scowling at her friend. “I told you not to do that anymore, not cool.”
Pinkie Pie bought a hoof to her face and giggled.
“Sorry Dashie, it’s just so much fun!” she yelled. Pinkie Pie stretched her hooves out towards Rainbow Dash, and began slowly floating towards her. Several seconds of floating later, and Rainbow Dash sighed as she was caught in a Pinkie Pie hug.
“Alright, it’s fine,” Dash said, and shook out of the earth pony’s hug. “…So, I’ll just do a Rainboom down there?” she asked, pointing her hoof towards the town. Pinkie Pie grinned, and nodded vigorously.
“Yep. Really close to the ground, and it’ll give all of them a big scare,” she said, smiling.
“And it’ll show everypony how awesome I am,” Rainbow Dash added, smiling at her friend. “Okay, I’m gonna go up some more so I can really get the speed for it,” she said, flying higher.
Pinkie Pie grinned, and said, “Okay!” She floated onto the cloud below her, resting on it while being suspended by the balloons.
Back on the ground, Twilight opened the library door and stepped into the sunlight. “So, where first?” Twilight asked. The dragon on her back pulled out a scroll and looked at it.
“First thing is food, at the markets,” Spike said, bringing the scroll down. He looked to the stalls setup in the distance.
“Well, no time to waste,” Twilight said, and began trotting down Ponyville’s main road.
Looking to her sides, she saw houses interspersed with shops. Light yellows and reds on a green and blue backdrop. Perfect, thought Twilight Sparkle, I love Ponyville.
Rainbow Dash kept an eye on Town Hall, using it to guide herself. She sped downwards, breaking off and flying towards her real target—the market district.
This is gonna be so. awesome. Rainbow Dash thought. As she saw the barrier form, Rainbow Dash pushed forwards against it. 300, 200, 100, she thought, before the light around her burst into a myriad of colour and she levelled with the ground. Flying only inches from the ground, she dodged and weaved through the Ponyville traffic.
