After going through a lot of paperwork with Celestia, she wanted to relax. She had no one to talk to except Spike, so she brought up her phone and started to text Sunset. What are you up to? She sent. She got a quit reply. Practicing some guitar... What are you up to? Nothing... Just sitting around. Are we doing anything tonight? Nothing planned. Don't have anything to do? Nope. Well, I really have to get this song down. I will talk to you later. K. Twilight sighed, and she shut her phone off. But before she put her phone down, she held it up for a few more seconds. Looking at the screen, she saw her reflection. It never really came across her before, but maybe she should change her look? She touched her face, the reflection mimicking her. "Spike? Do you like the way I look?" He looked at her with a blank face. "Uh... What?" "Do you think I look... Ok?" "In all honesty Twilight... I feel like you should try something new. Why don't you have your hair loose anymore like you used to? Also I feel like Rarity is sick of that dress you've been wearing. Uh... No offense." "None taken... I kind of want to try something new too..." She decided to go to the bathroom and look in the mirror. She was still wearing her Crystal Prep skirt. It's been five days since she transfered, and she is still wearing it. She went upstairs to her room to check her wardrobe. There were more skirts and some dresses, and she pulled some out. A lot of them, too short for her liking. Until one of them caught her eye. It was a light blue summer dress, she got a bit of nostalgia seeing it, as her mother gave it to her. She held it up in front of her, and found it appealing. The weather is supposed to be hot for the next few days, so she found ot fitting. She changed into it, and went into her bathroom to critique herself. She really did like it, it went along with her skin quite nicely. Then, her attention turned to her hair. It was tied up like it mormally was. She took her hairpin out, and her hair let loose falling down. She straightened it out a bit with a comb, and she smiled. She looked completely different. Looking closer into her reflection, she might even say she looked... Beautiful. She never really took it into consideration, but she really did look kind of like a nerd before. "I do look nice... I should show Spike!" She smiled at the idea, and dashed out of the bathroom downstairs. Spike was currently sitting on the couch chewing on a biscuit, then he heard Twilight come downstairs. He looked over the back side, and went wide eyed at the site. "Um... Do you like it Spike? I know it's kind of a huge chanfe from what I normally wear." "Wow Twilight... I never thought I would see you looking so... Attractive!" Twilight blushed at the compliment. "Oh you don't mean that... Do you?" "I bet even Rarity would be impressed by that... And that's saying something." Said Spike, and Twilight waved her arms. "I wouldn't say that... I am just going to try this tomorrow and see what everyone thinks..." "They'll love it Twilight! It would be a nice surprise." Twilight looked at her watch. "10:33..." She yawned. "No silly! Keep the beat going and play the rythem I showed you!" "Oh come on Pinkie you know me, I love freestyling." Said Rainbow Dash. Rainbow Dash is taking interest in druming, after seeing Pinkie play for a while, she decided to give it a shot thinking it was a piece of cake. "You see? Not as easy as it looks." Rainbow Dash blushed. "Heh... I guess. I think maybe I am gonna stick to guitar." She said, getting up from the drum set. "You know girls... Twilight is part of the gang now... Why don't we invite her to join the Rainbooms?" Sunset suggested. "Well... We don't exactly know if she plays anything." Dash said crossing her arms. "She could probably sing? Remember how good Princess Twilight was when we battled the sirens?" "That does make sense Sunset. But in her world she was Celestia's prised student. Here she went to a different school. Some things aren't exactly the same." Everyone looked at Fluttershy, who began to hide herself behind her instrument. "Jeez Flutters when did you become the smart one?" Applejack asked, and her face reddened. "Oh! And you're not questioning Pinkie's strange telepathic abilities?" Fluttershy huffed. "They are hunches!" She shouted. Everyone just laughed, but were inturrupted when they heard a knock at the door. "It's probably Twilight, I got it." Said Sunset, and got up from her chair and went to open the door. She turned the knob, and opened it, revealing Twilight and her new appearence. Sunset took a step back at what she saw. "Uh... Twilight? Is that you?" "Um... yes?" "What's the matter Sunse- woh!" Rainbow almost fell out of her seat. "Why, that's a mighty fine look for you Twilight!" "You like it? I wanted to try something new. I figured you girls were getting tired of my old Crystal Prep uniform..." "Oh darling you look absolutely gorgeous in that dress!" Rarity said as she walked up. "Well, you know it's good when you can impress Rarity..." Sunset said, and Twilight made a laugh. "And your hair... You look beautiful Twilight." Fluttershy said, Twilight was now turning crimson from all the compliments. "Do I really look that pretty?" "Yeah!" They all collectively said. Twilight put a hand around the back of her neck. "Wow... I didn't really expect you girls to think of me like that..." She said holding her hands together. "You should really keep the look, I think it fits you quite well!" Rarity clapped her hands together. "R... Really? What should I wear if it's cold outside?" Sunset walked up to her. "You could just do what I do, and put an overshirt over it?" "You read my mind Sunset." Said Applejack. After meeting up with her friends and watching them play some music, Twilight was currently looking through the library. She was really enjoying her new outfit. It was way looser on her legs and waste, and it made her feel kind of refreshed. Occasionally she would be complimented on it in the hallways by passerbyes, and it made her feel happy everyone was starting to accept her. "Something... Fictional." She said to herself, looking theough the vast amounts of books on the shelves. She pulled one out, and it had a centaur on the cover. "I guess this is... Kind of like what Sunset told me about?" She just shrugged, and decided to give it a read. She sat down next to Sunset, who was currently reading a book of her own. "Hey." She quietly said, and Sunset responded with a small wave of her hand. She opened to page one, and her eyes drifted across the words. Her eyes just skimming across the paper, and when she realized she couldn't remember what she just read, she grunted and closed the book. "I can't focus..." Twilight rubbed her eyes, and Sunset put her book down. "Your mind elsewhere?" "Why wouldn't it be..." "Um... So Twilight I have been meaning to ask you something..." "Yes?" "Would you... Like to join the Rainbooms?" Twilight blushed and twiddled her thumbs. "Uh... I don't know..." "Come on Twilight. You're part of the gang now, I think it would be good for you. Do you play anything?" "Well... I know how to sing..." Sunset made an "I knew it" face. "That's great!" "Yeah... I sing every so often when I'm alone... But I don't like to do it in front of people..." "Oh, stage fright?" Twilight slowly nodded. "Well... It's ok. It's up to you whether to join or not. Just remember we would all be very happy to see you in the Rainbooms..." Said Sunset, looking back to her book. "Sunset... You're from Equestria right?" Twilight asked as her eyes skimmed across her book. "Um, yes. Why do you ask?" "What's it like there?" Sunset looked up from her book, seeing Twilight still reading. "Well... Much different from here. I guess the biggest difference is that weather is manually controlled there." Twilight slammed her book shut and looked at Sunset with her mouth agape. "Really???" Sunset giggled. "Yup. It's not natural like it is here. There are two princesses that raise the sun and moon to change the time, and Pegasai are able to move clouds and control weather." "Pegasai?" "Ponies with wings." Twilight clapped her hands. "That's so interesting! I really wish I could visit..." "That would be nice but... I feel like one person traveling back and forth is enough. We don't understand the portal completely yet, we don't want to cause any rifts in space in time or anything." Sunset said waving her hands. Twilight sighed and leaned on her arm. "Still... I can't imagine what it would be like." "Well, also consider you will turn into a pony. Though I don't know if you would have a horn, or if you are just an earth pony." "Wait, Princess Twilight has a horn? What's the point of that?" "You use magic with it. I have one too. It's basically a third limb to us Unicorns. We use it to levitate things, open doors, and more complicated spells like increasing the rate of growth for plants and stuff." "Wow... That's amazing." A light bulb went off in Twilight's head, and she grinned. "You know, we have magic here too, it just works differently." Twilight said, taking a quarter out of her back pack. "What do you mean?" Sunset asked, then Twilight held the quarter in front of her face. She then put it in between her hands and rubbed them together. Then she showed Sunset her hands, and they were empty. Sunset went wide eyed, looking around them for the quarter. Twilight pointed towards Sunset's overshirt pocket. She reached in as fast as she could, and pulled out a quarter. "What? No way... How did you do that?" Twilight giggled. "A good magician never reveals her methods." Twilight decided to try another trick, and she pulled out a box of tooth picks from her backpack. She pulled one out, and put the box back. She held it in her left hand, then made a flashy motion with her hand and it was gone. Sunset was stunned, and even more so when Twilight reached her right hand behind Sunset's ear to pull out the tooth pick. "Ok... What kind of magic is this? I don't understand, this isn't equestria, there's no magic here!" Twilight giggled again. "Sunset, it's not really magic. It's an illusion. We just call them magic tricks here." "But... But how did you do those? It makes no sense..." "That's the fun In it Sunset! Magic tricks are supposed to leave the audience curious to how they work." Twilight put the tooth pick back in her back pack. "My science teacher back at Crystal Prep did some magic tricks for us one day in class. I kind of got interested in it, so I picked it up when I had some spare time. It's probably nothing compared to what you have in Equestria... You Unicorns could do way more impressive stuff than just this." "Well... Yeah. But that's because we have... Well... Real magic. That's pretty cool you could do that Twilight." She blushed from the compliment. "Do you mind showing me another one?" She asked, and Twilight giggled. "I don't suppose you have a deck of cards on you?" Sunset reached into her back pack. "Actually... I do. Here you go." Sunset handed her a box of cards. Twilight opened it and shuffled them, Sunset impressed by her shuffling tricks. Twilight handed her a card and told her to sign it with a pen. Sunset did so, and handed it back to her. She put it back into the deck, and shuffled them again. Sunset's eyes were sticking to her movements, trying to see if she was doing anything funny. "So... I suppose you think it's in the deck then?" Twilight set the deck down in front of Sunset, and she raised an eyebrow. Twilight then raised her hand, and waved it, then the card revealed in her palm. She flipped it, and it was the card Sunset had signed. Sunset was dumb founded. "But... But I saw you put it in the... Then your hand... The deck... The card..." Twilight straight up laughed at her inability to find the words. "Jeez Twilight... How did you do that?" "I'm sorry I can't tell." She said putting a hand in front of her mouth. "Aww come on Twilight." "That would ruin the fun Sunset. If I told you it wouldn't really seem like it was magic now would it?" Sunset crossed her arms. "Well... I need to continue my research... Hey where's my pen?" Sunset looked across the desk, then on the floor to see if it dropped. It wasn't there, then she looked at Twilight. "Oh you mean this?" Twilight put her hands together with all her fingers connecting at one point. Then when her hands separated, the pen appeared between her fingers. Sunset went wide eyed as she handed it to her. "Ok... Now you're just starting to scare me." Sunset said, and they shared a laugh.
