It has been a year since Tirek invaded, and Discord did his best to make up for what he did. Fluttershy forgave him after Tirek was put back into prison. She had a confession to make to him, but Fluttershy hoped Discord won't stop being her friend. Fluttershy loved Discord. Fluttershy got a parchment and started writing a note saying, Come over to my cottage today for a Tea Party if you don't mind. I have a secret I must confess. That last part is bound to make Discord come to her cottage. She put it into her mailbox right when the mailmare came for mail. _______ Discord was in his demension, where he was hanging out, literally, on the ceiling. He heard a knock on the door. Mail. Discord went back to the ground and opened the door. The mailbox was open, and he took out a letter from Fluttershy. He opened it and thought, I have nothing better to do so I will go. The last sentence caught his eye. A secret? I thought Fluttershy doesn't keep secrets. Thinks Discord as he teleports to Fluttershy's cottage. ______ Fluttershy hears a knock on the door as she makes the tea and cucumber sandwiches. She smiles and opens the door. "Hello Discord!" she says cheerfully. Discord narrows his eyes. "Hello my dear." says Discord, with a hint of suspicion. Fluttershy beckons him in, and he sits on the couch, with his eyes still narrowed. He must think the secret is bad, thinks Fluttershy. He will soon show it isn't. "How are you today?" asks Fluttershy as she brings out the tea and sandwiches. "Good" said Discord, sounding very suspicious now. "Tell me, what is this secret?" Fluttershy sighed. "Um... um.." muttered Fluttershy. "Spit it out already!" snapped Discord, causing Fluttershy to squeak in surprise. Discord flinched at the sound of the squeak. "Sorry, OK, the secret is..." Fluttershy gulped. "I love you!" she said quickly. A lot of weight came off of Fluttershy's shoulders, and her face was burning. Discord looked shocked. Did he not want to be her friend anymore? "I-I love you too." stammered Discord. He looked a bit red. Fluttershy hugged him, and Discord gave a hug back. This was only the start, of what was more to come. Oh No... 4 months later Fluttershy and Discord were going to a forest, so Fluttershy could set free some animals that were ready to go out into the wild. They have done this many times, but on this fateful night something, else, was going to happen. "OK, Discord, teleport us to the forest." said Fluttershy as she gathered the animals that were ready to go out into the wild again. Discord did so, and they were in a marshy forest. "Here we are, dear." said Discord. Fluttershy beckoned to the animals to go out to the wild, some left, but over half were being stubborn. The animals were obviously not wanting to leave Fluttershy. "Go on, you can visit me anytime you want. But, you need to get reunited with your family and friends and get back to your homes! There isn't enough space in my cottage for the sick animals and healthy!" Fluttershy recently became a vet for the forest and Ponyville. All of a sudden, the animals ran off, looking as if they were frightened. "That's odd." said Discord looking around. A movement in the bushes caught his eye. All of a sudden, a pony with bat like wings and red eyes jumped out and sprang at Fluttershy. "FLUTTERSHY LOOK OUT!" cried Discord as the creature was about to bite her. Discord jumped in the way and was bitten. He fell to the ground and lay limp. "Discord! No!" cried Fluttershy, running to the draconequus. The creature left, and Discord looked pale. "Are you all right?" Fluttershy noticed something odd. His pegasus wing was a bat wing, but the same color as it was. "D-Discord?" She remembered what happened before. She once became a batpony, and she couldn't remember what she had done, but since Discord was a creature of chaos, he can be much worse! Discord rose and disappeared, looking at Fluttershy, his eyes glowed. Fluttershy saw his teeth were sharp, and now he was gone. What was going to happen now? "Oh dear..." mumbled Fluttershy as she took flight and started heading to her cottage, scared. She could have swore she heard a lot of rustling in the bushes on the way. Fluttershy got so frightened. Zecora's cottage was just ahead, maybe she could stay for the night! Fluttershy knocked on Zecora's door and Zecora answered. "What brings you here at the dead of night, and you appear you had a fright." said Zecora, looking over Fluttershy, who was trembling. "Come on in and settle, while I make tea with the kettle." Fluttershy sat down at Zecora's table and told her the story. "It appears Discord had changed into a vampire." said Zecora. She handed Fluttershy a book. "You can still find happiness with this draconequus." said Zecora. "But changing him back is what you will lack." Fluttershy knew that meant Discord will be a 'vampire' forever. Maybe he isn't a vampire, and she just saw things? Fluttershy hoped that was it. __________ Discord saw a strange creature. The same that attacked Fluttershy and him! He was ready to fight it. "Come at me!" he said. The creature jumped at him. Discord dodged it, but, it sprang again fast and bit him. He woke up with a pain. He was at the edge of the Everfree Forest! Discord teleported to Fluttershy's cottage, and saw Fluttershy walk in. "Hey, Fluttershy!" he called. Fluttershy turned around and gasped. "What's wrong?" "Y-You're sp-sparkling..." stammered Fluttershy. Discord looked at himself and it was true! What in Equestria was happening. "Huh. Maybe my magic accidentally did that. Wouldn't be the first mistake." said Discord, shrugging it off. "M-Maybe..." said Fluttershy as she beckoned him in. Discord went in, and the sparkling stopped. "It stopped." said Discord, not caring. Fluttershy looked more comfortable. She nodded and smiled. Fluttershy grabbed a book out of her saddlebag. She left the room, leaving Discord wondering what the book was for. What's the book about? Is it bad? It it about him? A bunch of questions flew around his mind. It was chaos in his mind, but not the chaos Discord liked. He pushed it off. _________ Discord wasn't feeling well when it started getting dark. Fluttershy was close nearby, not letting her gaze leave Discord for very long. He still wondered what was going on. Did Fluttershy see something bad? All of a sudden, a splitting headache attacked Discord. He fainted. _________ "Discord! Oh my goodness..." Fluttershy ran over to Discord, who was laying on the ground, unconscious. When Fluttershy got near, he changed. He turned to the same form, like the night before. Discord jumped up and threw Fluttershy against the wall, when she got too close. Fluttershy tried to get up, and cried. She was in a lot of pain. Discord looked like he wasn't who he was. Then, Fluttershy remembered a chapter of the book. A vampire doesn't know what they are doing when they are transformed in the night. Then the chilling sentence streaked Fluttershy's mind. Once a vampire had a month of being it, the vampire will never change back to normal. Fluttershy cried even harder when Discord looked like he was going to attack again. "Discord!" cried Fluttershy, losing all hope of getting out alive. Discord stopped, and she saw conflict in his gaze. Fluttershy took the opportunity. "Discord, remember who you are." Discord then stopped. He looked at her, and she saw a tear in his eye. "I'm so sorry..." said Discord and he was about to teleport, but Fluttershy winced as she jumped up and hugged him. "It isn't your fault. I read about this and you wouldn't be able to have control." replied Fluttershy. Discord snapped his talon, and Fluttershy didn't feel any more pain. She smiled up at him, and he smiled back. Maybe if he can control himself, this won't be so bad! Fluttershy and Discord sat around, talking. Fluttershy was feeling a lot happier, but Discord looked so different in the night. I wonder what will happen later! Fluttershy wondered. What... Fluttershy was out in Ponyville today, and she is going to Sugar Cube Corner to visit Pinkie. On the way, she saw ponies suspiciously looking around. When Fluttershy got into the sweet shop, Pinkie was nowhere to be found. "Leave the sweets alone!" cried Pinkie as she sprang onto Fluttershy. "Oh, you're not a creepy monster from the Everfree Forest!" Pinkie jumped off. What was going on, thought Fluttershy as she got up. "What do you mean?" asked Fluttershy. "Oh, you didn't see the timberwolves fleeing the forest, howling in fright?" asked Pinkie, cocking her head to the side. Fluttershy shook her head no. "They must have been attacked, or some were killed, or..." Fluttershy zoned out and thought about what happened. Maybe the thing that attacked Discord was the cause of this! "Uh, Pinkie, uh I have to go..." said Fluttershy as she left the Sweet Shop. Maybe Discord would know how to get through to this! But, all of a sudden, a growl sounded behind Fluttershy. Fluttershy jumped and flew to a cloud. She was greeted by a laughing Rainbow Dash. "Fluttershy, you fell for that? Nice work, Scootaloo!" Scootaloo was on the ground laughing the daylights out of herself. Fluttershy was a little angered, but not much as Rainbow was having fun. "Nice work, you really scared me..." muttered Fluttershy, enthusiastically. "Hey, did you hear about the strange occurrences in the Everfree Forest?" asked Fluttershy. Rainbow stopped smiling. "Yeah. Pretty strange, how those timberwolves ran in fear. Whatever scared them, I won't be scared. I'm going to look around for it with Scootaloo tonight." Rainbow nodded to Scootaloo, who grinned. "We will fight off whatever scared the wolves, and it will be scared of us!" Rainbow had a smirk on her face. Fluttershy hoped Rainbow could scare off the thing, because maybe it will scare the injured animals Fluttershy needed to take care of! "Well, Scoots and I need to practice some battle moves to destroy the creature. They are awesome!" Rainbow sped off with Scootaloo and they were gone in an instant. Fluttershy decided she was going to visit Twilight in the Friendship castle. _________ Fluttershy had asked Discord to take care of the animals while she was gone, and he did so. The animals to him seemed... strange... They were nervous around him now, and he felt as if they were... prey? Discord finished tending to the last animal and headed inside. Things sure were different now. Fluttershy still trusted him, but not in the same way. Will it be like the time after Tirek-she didn't trust me for awhile, thought Discord to himself. He pushed the thought away. _________ Fluttershy made it to The Kingdom and went in. She found Twilight in the library. "I don't mean to barge in, but I wanted to ask you something." muttered Fluttershy. Twilight put down the book she was reading and looked up. "What is it?" questioned Twilight, who was smiling nervously, as if she did something and was guilty. "Do you know anything about the timberwolves running in fear the other night?" asked Fluttershy. Twilight looked at a book and nodded. "That is what I was studying. I made a conclusion about this, and a creature scared them away. The book says that manticores and an unknown creature were the only animals that were easily capable of scaring a timberwolf. We may be able to discover that strange animal that has been scaring them!" said Twilight, who was happy, but stressed at the same time. Obviously other ponies kept asking her questions and she has to be stressed over finding the answers. "Thank you. I have something else to ask too." said Fluttershy, who was cautious not to put too much pressure on her friend. "Yes?" said Twilight, her eyes growing dull. "Can you talk Rainbow and Scootaloo from going into the forest to fight the creature? They said they would, and I don't want them to get hurt." said Fluttershy. "OK, I will soon. Right now, I have a bunch of books to read." said Twilight, going back to the book she was reading. Fluttershy walked out of the castle, and she started heading toward her cottage. Fluttershy walked in, and found Discord, who was on the ceiling. "What are you doing up there?" asked Fluttershy, cocking her head. "Oh, oh um, I don't know.." said Discord, and he appeared in front of her with a flash of light. "So, how was the day out?" "Just fine. I saw some of my friends, and I heard some shocking news." said Fluttershy, as she told the story. "That's strange. Maybe this will die down, and just a manticore scared them out." said Discord, who was deep in thought. "Yeah, I guess. But, I'm going back out. You go and water my plants." before she let Discord argue, she left the cottage. She heard Discord groan, and then it was quiet. Fluttershy decided she was going to take a closer look at the forest. _________ Does she really think I'm going to stay here and water the plants, thought Discord to himself. He teleported to a tree to hide in while Fluttershy passed by. She had looked at some of the trees when he vanished and appeared in them, causing them to move. But, he had made himself invisible so Fluttershy didn't send him home, and he didn't want her to be mad. Discord did this awhile, and then tried to keep in a gasp when Fluttershy went into the Everfree Forest. Why would she want to go into the dangerous place? Maybe it was important to keep with Fluttershy. Discord looked at the position of the sun, seeing it was only mid-afternoon. He still had time. Discord rustled around too much, and Fluttershy flew up to the tree. "H-Hello? W-Who is in this tree, making the rustles?" Fluttershy's gaze swept past Discord, as he was invisible. Discord had used his "vampire" powers to do so. No magic, not even his own, could make a pony invisible. Discord stood as still as possible, and she eventually flew away, back on her trail. "What are you doing?" muttered Discord, so quiet Fluttershy couldn't hear. In a bush, he heard a faint growling. He appeared in front of it, still invisible, and looked in it. A timberwolf pup was in there, looking starved. He scooped it up and thought, Fluttershy might see this as a nice gift. It growled again. "Oh, shut up." Discord teleported to the cottage, left it there, and teleported near Fluttershy. She seemed to walk for an endless time. Finally, she stopped. There was fear in her eyes. Discord followed her gaze. The creature that attacked him was right ahead! It started running toward Fluttershy, ready to bite. Discord became visible and leaped at it. He didn't know the sun was setting. "Discord! The sun!" Fluttershy shouted, but not much of a shout, and Discord couldn't hear. The sun set, and Discord lay limp on the group. What agony he was in! He looked at the sky, realizing it was night now. He changed to the vampire form he owned, and got up. The creature was growling, and it too had changed some. Not much, but it had glowing red eyes and sharp fangs. Discord was aware of his fangs, but he couldn't care less. "Come at me you mutt!" yelled Discord, as he braced to fight. The thing started walking toward him, looking calm. "You should know you have the power to take over Equestria." said the creature. Discord was shocked, but thought. "Why would I want to?" snarled Discord, clearly angry. The creature laughed. "Who wouldn't want to rule Equestria?" asked the creature, clearly taking Discord's answer as a joke. "I guess I do still like the idea, but my love for Fluttershy is going to keep me from it. But, I am still happy, which is good, and I shouldn't end it now!" snapped Discord, thinking of his love. "Another reason you should have let me kill her. I was going to get you next, but not kill you. When you got in the way, you caused me some embarrassment, as I never missed a kill before. Kill that pegasus and reach ultimate power!" commanded the creature. Discord was shocked, angry, hurt, nostalgic, and thoughtful. I could find another mare, and have Equestria, one side screamed. The other screamed, don't, she understands you and loves you, don't break her heart and yours for a silly ambition! "Discord, don't listen to it!" yelped Fluttershy, finally finding her voice. The creature snarled. "Shut up, fool!" it whacked her, but didn't bite her. Fluttershy cried. "Well, is it ultimate power, or a wimpy pegasus?" questioned the creature. Discord made up his mind and turned his gaze to Fluttershy. "Do. Not. HURT HER!" screeched Discord, as he rammed into the creature, making it cry out. "Bad choice. But for now, we will not fight." the creature ran off, and before Discord could find it, the creature was gone. "Fluttershy, are you OK? For a second, my old awful ambition was getting to me. But I couldn't lose you." said Discord, as he teleported them to the cottage. "I knew you were going to make the right decision." said Fluttershy. "What ever were you doing in the Everfree Forest anyway?" snapped Discord, narrowing his eyes. Fluttershy winced. "Those timberwolves were scared out, and now I know what scared them. Obviously it was that... that thing scared them out." said Fluttershy. Discord sighed. "You could have told me!" he said, and he remembered the pup. "Close your eyes." "Why?" "Just close your eyes." She did so, and Discord got the pup, and it growled again. "Oh shut up you." Fluttershy giggled, thinking she knew what she was getting. "OK, open them." Fluttershy gasped, but still smiled. "A timberwolf pup! It's so cute. Thank you!" Fluttershy hugged Discord, who returned it gratefully. "I know it's a timberwolf, but my mother said she raised one as a pup, and it was a great and loyal wolf!" Fluttershy hugged the pup next, who didn't growl, but panted with playfulness, and when she set it down, it rolled onto its back, and Fluttershy rubbed its stomach. "I found it in a bush." explained Discord. Fluttershy smiled. Discord sat down, and thought. He rest his head on his hand, suddenly remembering the extra fang and quickly pulled his head up. This is great. Side Story: Flutterbat Night Fluttershy one day went to see Applejack, when AJ's bell went off. That usually meant there is an emergency, and Fluttershy rushed with the rest of her friends to get over to see if Applejack was alright. "Thank y'all for coming. Vampire fruit bats have been attackin' the orchard. I need y'all to help me get 'em out." said Applejack. _________ Fluttershy agreed to do the stare on the vampire fruit bats to save the apple orchard. She gave them the stare, and Twilight cast a spell on them, making the bats not want to eat apples again. Fluttershy felt a strange sensation fall over her, and then the bats looked around, and flew off. "Girls, go see if the bats still want the apples." commanded Twilight. Rainbow held an apple to some bats, and they all turned the apple away, and did other things. "Aw, yeah! More cider for the winter!" exclaimed Rainbow as she bit into the apple. Fluttershy couldn't feel anything but guilt, what would the bats eat now? _________ That night, Fluttershy didn't feel well. She finished her daisy sandwich she made for dinner, and went into her room. Angel was asleep, in his little bed. When Fluttershy was halfway to her bed, she fainted and lay there on the ground. _________ Flutterbat, a new personality, woke up inside of Fluttershy. Fluttershy's wings turned bat-like and her eyes were red. Flutterbat was in the control, and she flew to the apple orchard. The only thought in her mind was, I have to eat the delicious and juicy apples, or ponies. Flutterbat started jumping at apples in the first tree. She found a rabbit, and attacked it. Flutterbat drank down its blood, and then went back to the apples. That rabbit was amazing, thought Flutterbat, as she sucked the juice from an apple. "What in the hay is all this here racket?" asked Applejack to herself as she trotted around. She gasped. "Oh Celestia! What happened to this bunny?" Applejack prodded it, and leaped back. "I gotta find the gun." Applejack ran off, leaving Flutterbat in shock. "I should have been more careful! Now, I have to stay as hidden as I can. I also better move to the other side of the orchard." muttered Flutterbat to herself, as she flew as fast as she could to the other side of the orchard. "Nice place here, full of animals and apples." Flutterbat only caught 1 more animal, as the rest were scared off, but ate a whole section of the apples. It was quite a good meal, thought the yellow bat pony to herself. She saw the sun starting to rise, and hissed. Flutterbat flew to the door of her cottage, and fainted. _________ "Oh dear..." said Fluttershy, as Applejack said she found a dead rabbit in the orchard. Fluttershy had no memory of the previous night. What possibly wanted to kill a cute bunny? "Maybe Twi's spell backfired and the bats want to eat animals now!" Applejack had gotten the rest of the ponies, and Twilight gasped. "Maybe... But, nopony leaves the orchard tonight until we find out the mystery!" Twilight says, and everypony but Fluttershy cheers. What if she was attacked by whatever killed the bunny? Fluttershy started off searching the orchard from the ground. The 6 split up and were searching around. Fluttershy wasn't feeling well again. She fainted... again... _________ Flutterbat awoke again. She looked around, making sure nopony was around. She flew past a white unicorn, having no memories of what happened before. She swooped not too far from the unicorn's head. She then flew off and ate some apples. She then hung upside-down on a branch and wrapped her wings around herself. An orange earthpony dropped her jaw and put a symbol in the sky. The bat-pony didn't care. She hung there, seeing more ponies gather around. "Hey silly!" said a pink earthpony, as she shined a light in Flutterbat's eyes. Flutterbat hissed, making the pony go back to the ground. Good riddance, thought Flutterbat as she ate another apple. The ponies were talking to each other, but Flutterbat couldn't hear them. She then swooped not far from their heads and went somewhere else and found a squirrel and sucked its blood dry. She ate some apples until she scented the best smelling apple she ever scented. Flutterbat went toward a huge apple and the orange pony kicked it. Flutterbat saw something giving it a hard stare, then flew over to another, then was paralyzed by a last one. A purple alicorn used her horn and wrapped Flutterbat in a pink case. Flutterbat struggled around, but it was no use. She blacked out. _________ Fluttershy opened her eyes, and her friends ran up to her and hugged her. Fluttershy was confused. "You were a vampire!" said Pinkie. Panic washed over Fluttershy. "I tried to eat ponies?" asked Fluttershy, frantic. "No!" "So I wasn't a vampire?" "Yes." "Yes I was or yes I wasn't?" "Yes you were." "I'm confused." said Fluttershy finally, and then they went to their homes and slept. Where's Discord Fluttershy woke up one day, and looked in Discord's room. He was gone, and he was nowhere in the cottage or garden. It has been 2 weeks since Discord was first changed. Fluttershy looked around, but still, no sign. She was sitting down when a note appeared in front of her. My dear Fluttershy, I left looking for the creature that had tried to attack you before, and if I don't come back alive within the next week, get help and warn ponies about a creature in the forest. Please don't come looking for me, as you can't really defend yourself. No offense, you are weak. Please don't be offended as I was saying the truth, well I will be gone for a day or so. Please, if something doesn't seem normal, run from it. If Ponyville is attacked during my search, run. I wish you happiness while I'm gone, my dearest. -Discord Fluttershy wished this was a prank because Discord could really get hurt! She didn't care that Discord said for her to stay out of the forest. When it was night, she ran as fast as she could towards it. She skidded to a stop right outside of the forest. Do I really want to do this, after how I encountered that dangerous thing, asked Fluttershy to herself, well Discord might need help! I will do anything to help him, even at the risk of my life. I love him! Fluttershy thought those three words over and over as she ran through the dark and scary forest. She brought her timberwolf pup, who was almost fully grown. Timberwolves grow fast! She had named him Stick. "Stick, make sure nothing attacks me." commanded Fluttershy, as she went into a tall tree, looking around. She couldn't see anything. "Stick, can you see anything?" asked Fluttershy, and the wolf shook its head, no. Fluttershy sighed. Where could he be? Is he in trouble? Fluttershy thought of what could have happened. He could be safe! She didn't want to think the alternative... Fluttershy had her attention caught back when she saw Stick fighting a smaller timberwolf. "Stick! Be careful!" cried Fluttershy, as the tiny timberwolf that he was fighting seemed very strong. Fluttershy and the wolf ran away when Stick crumpled the tiny wolf, slowing it down so they could get away. Even the tiny wolves are aggressive here, thought Fluttershy. "I hope Discord is OK..." Stick nodded, and Fluttershy remembered how Discord used his magic to make Stick have pony characteristics, but Stick didn't learn how to talk completely, so it doesn't say anything.. yet. "Wait." whispered Fluttershy. She heard a growl in the bushes, deadly familiar. "Discord!" Discord jumped out of the bushes on all fours and snarled. "Discord?" Discord stopped and stood up, looking confused. "Fluttershy? What are you doing here? I told you to stay out!" Discord was in his vampire form, and he looked kinda scary with the dark surrounding them. "It is dangerous! I thought you were a creature and I was ready to fight anything that is a threat. If I didn't know it was you, you could've been hurt!" Discord sighed and looked thoughtful. "You did bring Stick, he could protect you." he was looking at the wolf, who was panting from the running. "Yes." replied Fluttershy, as she gave a treat to Stick. "Tell me, why are you out here?" asked Discord, as he narrowed his eyes. "In the note, you said you were going to find the creature, and I know how much damage it can do! I was worried if you were going to be alive when you came back. I was so worried, so I couldn't help but come out here!" explained Fluttershy, as she was blinking back tears. "You could have been hurt too!" exclaimed Discord. "But I can't live without you! Vampire or not, I love you!" Discord stayed quiet. He sighed again and sat on a log. He looked thoughtful. "Maybe we can let the creature come to us. Obviously it is going to want to kill you now. It wants ME to attack Equestria. Then it will find a good time, and kill me too, and control Equestria, making it night forever." said Discord. Fluttershy gaped. "H-How would you know that?" stammered Fluttershy. Discord looked down. "I was spying on it, and then I heard timberwolves fighting. I was worried if you were there, as I knew you would try to follow me!" said Discord. Fluttershy looked away, guilty. "Well, lets go home. It is almost sunrise, and I think the creature stays in that form forever now. As for me, I am going to feel a LOT of pain. So, I need somewhere comfortable." Discord teleported them to the cottage, and locked himself in his room. Fluttershy heard a little cry of pain, knowing he is starting to change back. She walked outside, as it was time to feed the animals. Plus, she didn't want to hear how he is in agony. She started feeding the animals.

Discord went back to the ground and opened the door. The mailbox was open, and he took out a letter from Fluttershy. He opened it and thought, I have nothing better to do so I will go. The last sentence caught his eye. A secret? I thought Fluttershy doesn't keep secrets. Thinks Discord as he teleports to Fluttershy's cottage. ______ Fluttershy hears a knock on the door as she makes the tea and cucumber sandwiches. She smiles and opens the door. "Hello Discord!" she says cheerfully. Discord narrows his eyes. "Hello my dear." says Discord, with a hint of suspicion. Fluttershy beckons him in, and he sits on the couch, with his eyes still narrowed. He must think the secret is bad, thinks Fluttershy. He will soon show it isn't. "How are you today?" asks Fluttershy as she brings out the tea and sandwiches. "Good" said Discord, sounding very suspicious now. "Tell me, what is this secret?" Fluttershy sighed. "Um... um.." muttered Fluttershy. "Spit it out already!" snapped Discord, causing Fluttershy to squeak in surprise. Discord flinched at the sound of the squeak. "Sorry, OK, the secret is..." Fluttershy gulped. "I love you!" she said quickly. A lot of weight came off of Fluttershy's shoulders, and her face was burning. Discord looked shocked. Did he not want to be her friend anymore? "I-I love you too." stammered Discord. He looked a bit red. Fluttershy hugged him, and Discord gave a hug back. This was only the start, of what was more to come.
Oh No... 4 months later Fluttershy and Discord were going to a forest, so Fluttershy could set free some animals that were ready to go out into the wild. They have done this many times, but on this fateful night something, else, was going to happen. "OK, Discord, teleport us to the forest." said Fluttershy as she gathered the animals that were ready to go out into the wild again. Discord did so, and they were in a marshy forest. "Here we are, dear." said Discord. Fluttershy beckoned to the animals to go out to the wild, some left, but over half were being stubborn. The animals were obviously not wanting to leave Fluttershy. "Go on, you can visit me anytime you want. But, you need to get reunited with your family and friends and get back to your homes! There isn't enough space in my cottage for the sick animals and healthy!" Fluttershy recently became a vet for the forest and Ponyville. All of a sudden, the animals ran off, looking as if they were frightened. "That's odd." said Discord looking around. A movement in the bushes caught his eye. All of a sudden, a pony with bat like wings and red eyes jumped out and sprang at Fluttershy. "FLUTTERSHY LOOK OUT!" cried Discord as the creature was about to bite her. Discord jumped in the way and was bitten. He fell to the ground and lay limp. "Discord! No!" cried Fluttershy, running to the draconequus. The creature left, and Discord looked pale. "Are you all right?" Fluttershy noticed something odd. His pegasus wing was a bat wing, but the same color as it was. "D-Discord?" She remembered what happened before. She once became a batpony, and she couldn't remember what she had done, but since Discord was a creature of chaos, he can be much worse! Discord rose and disappeared, looking at Fluttershy, his eyes glowed. Fluttershy saw his teeth were sharp, and now he was gone. What was going to happen now? "Oh dear..." mumbled Fluttershy as she took flight and started heading to her cottage, scared. She could have swore she heard a lot of rustling in the bushes on the way. Fluttershy got so frightened. Zecora's cottage was just ahead, maybe she could stay for the night! Fluttershy knocked on Zecora's door and Zecora answered. "What brings you here at the dead of night, and you appear you had a fright." said Zecora, looking over Fluttershy, who was trembling. "Come on in and settle, while I make tea with the kettle." Fluttershy sat down at Zecora's table and told her the story. "It appears Discord had changed into a vampire." said Zecora. She handed Fluttershy a book. "You can still find happiness with this draconequus." said Zecora. "But changing him back is what you will lack." Fluttershy knew that meant Discord will be a 'vampire' forever. Maybe he isn't a vampire, and she just saw things? Fluttershy hoped that was it. __________ Discord saw a strange creature. The same that attacked Fluttershy and him! He was ready to fight it. "Come at me!" he said. The creature jumped at him. Discord dodged it, but, it sprang again fast and bit him. He woke up with a pain. He was at the edge of the Everfree Forest! Discord teleported to Fluttershy's cottage, and saw Fluttershy walk in. "Hey, Fluttershy!" he called. Fluttershy turned around and gasped. "What's wrong?" "Y-You're sp-sparkling..." stammered Fluttershy. Discord looked at himself and it was true! What in Equestria was happening. "Huh. Maybe my magic accidentally did that. Wouldn't be the first mistake." said Discord, shrugging it off. "M-Maybe..." said Fluttershy as she beckoned him in. Discord went in, and the sparkling stopped. "It stopped." said Discord, not caring. Fluttershy looked more comfortable. She nodded and smiled. Fluttershy grabbed a book out of her saddlebag. She left the room, leaving Discord wondering what the book was for. What's the book about? Is it bad? It it about him? A bunch of questions flew around his mind. It was chaos in his mind, but not the chaos Discord liked. He pushed it off. _________ Discord wasn't feeling well when it started getting dark. Fluttershy was close nearby, not letting her gaze leave Discord for very long. He still wondered what was going on. Did Fluttershy see something bad? All of a sudden, a splitting headache attacked Discord. He fainted. _________ "Discord! Oh my goodness..." Fluttershy ran over to Discord, who was laying on the ground, unconscious. When Fluttershy got near, he changed. He turned to the same form, like the night before. Discord jumped up and threw Fluttershy against the wall, when she got too close. Fluttershy tried to get up, and cried. She was in a lot of pain. Discord looked like he wasn't who he was. Then, Fluttershy remembered a chapter of the book. A vampire doesn't know what they are doing when they are transformed in the night. Then the chilling sentence streaked Fluttershy's mind. Once a vampire had a month of being it, the vampire will never change back to normal. Fluttershy cried even harder when Discord looked like he was going to attack again. "Discord!" cried Fluttershy, losing all hope of getting out alive. Discord stopped, and she saw conflict in his gaze. Fluttershy took the opportunity. "Discord, remember who you are." Discord then stopped. He looked at her, and she saw a tear in his eye. "I'm so sorry..." said Discord and he was about to teleport, but Fluttershy winced as she jumped up and hugged him. "It isn't your fault. I read about this and you wouldn't be able to have control." replied Fluttershy. Discord snapped his talon, and Fluttershy didn't feel any more pain. She smiled up at him, and he smiled back. Maybe if he can control himself, this won't be so bad! Fluttershy and Discord sat around, talking. Fluttershy was feeling a lot happier, but Discord looked so different in the night. I wonder what will happen later! Fluttershy wondered.
What... Fluttershy was out in Ponyville today, and she is going to Sugar Cube Corner to visit Pinkie. On the way, she saw ponies suspiciously looking around. When Fluttershy got into the sweet shop, Pinkie was nowhere to be found. "Leave the sweets alone!" cried Pinkie as she sprang onto Fluttershy. "Oh, you're not a creepy monster from the Everfree Forest!" Pinkie jumped off. What was going on, thought Fluttershy as she got up. "What do you mean?" asked Fluttershy. "Oh, you didn't see the timberwolves fleeing the forest, howling in fright?" asked Pinkie, cocking her head to the side. Fluttershy shook her head no. "They must have been attacked, or some were killed, or..." Fluttershy zoned out and thought about what happened. Maybe the thing that attacked Discord was the cause of this! "Uh, Pinkie, uh I have to go..." said Fluttershy as she left the Sweet Shop. Maybe Discord would know how to get through to this! But, all of a sudden, a growl sounded behind Fluttershy. Fluttershy jumped and flew to a cloud. She was greeted by a laughing Rainbow Dash. "Fluttershy, you fell for that? Nice work, Scootaloo!" Scootaloo was on the ground laughing the daylights out of herself. Fluttershy was a little angered, but not much as Rainbow was having fun. "Nice work, you really scared me..." muttered Fluttershy, enthusiastically. "Hey, did you hear about the strange occurrences in the Everfree Forest?" asked Fluttershy. Rainbow stopped smiling. "Yeah. Pretty strange, how those timberwolves ran in fear. Whatever scared them, I won't be scared. I'm going to look around for it with Scootaloo tonight." Rainbow nodded to Scootaloo, who grinned. "We will fight off whatever scared the wolves, and it will be scared of us!" Rainbow had a smirk on her face. Fluttershy hoped Rainbow could scare off the thing, because maybe it will scare the injured animals Fluttershy needed to take care of! "Well, Scoots and I need to practice some battle moves to destroy the creature. They are awesome!" Rainbow sped off with Scootaloo and they were gone in an instant. Fluttershy decided she was going to visit Twilight in the Friendship castle. _________ Fluttershy had asked Discord to take care of the animals while she was gone, and he did so. The animals to him seemed... strange... They were nervous around him now, and he felt as if they were... prey? Discord finished tending to the last animal and headed inside. Things sure were different now. Fluttershy still trusted him, but not in the same way. Will it be like the time after Tirek-she didn't trust me for awhile, thought Discord to himself. He pushed the thought away. _________ Fluttershy made it to The Kingdom and went in. She found Twilight in the library. "I don't mean to barge in, but I wanted to ask you something." muttered Fluttershy. Twilight put down the book she was reading and looked up. "What is it?" questioned Twilight, who was smiling nervously, as if she did something and was guilty. "Do you know anything about the timberwolves running in fear the other night?" asked Fluttershy. Twilight looked at a book and nodded. "That is what I was studying. I made a conclusion about this, and a creature scared them away. The book says that manticores and an unknown creature were the only animals that were easily capable of scaring a timberwolf. We may be able to discover that strange animal that has been scaring them!" said Twilight, who was happy, but stressed at the same time. Obviously other ponies kept asking her questions and she has to be stressed over finding the answers. "Thank you. I have something else to ask too." said Fluttershy, who was cautious not to put too much pressure on her friend. "Yes?" said Twilight, her eyes growing dull. "Can you talk Rainbow and Scootaloo from going into the forest to fight the creature? They said they would, and I don't want them to get hurt." said Fluttershy. "OK, I will soon. Right now, I have a bunch of books to read." said Twilight, going back to the book she was reading. Fluttershy walked out of the castle, and she started heading toward her cottage. Fluttershy walked in, and found Discord, who was on the ceiling. "What are you doing up there?" asked Fluttershy, cocking her head. "Oh, oh um, I don't know.." said Discord, and he appeared in front of her with a flash of light. "So, how was the day out?" "Just fine. I saw some of my friends, and I heard some shocking news." said Fluttershy, as she told the story. "That's strange. Maybe this will die down, and just a manticore scared them out." said Discord, who was deep in thought. "Yeah, I guess. But, I'm going back out. You go and water my plants." before she let Discord argue, she left the cottage. She heard Discord groan, and then it was quiet. Fluttershy decided she was going to take a closer look at the forest. _________ Does she really think I'm going to stay here and water the plants, thought Discord to himself. He teleported to a tree to hide in while Fluttershy passed by. She had looked at some of the trees when he vanished and appeared in them, causing them to move. But, he had made himself invisible so Fluttershy didn't send him home, and he didn't want her to be mad. Discord did this awhile, and then tried to keep in a gasp when Fluttershy went into the Everfree Forest. Why would she want to go into the dangerous place? Maybe it was important to keep with Fluttershy. Discord looked at the position of the sun, seeing it was only mid-afternoon. He still had time. Discord rustled around too much, and Fluttershy flew up to the tree. "H-Hello? W-Who is in this tree, making the rustles?" Fluttershy's gaze swept past Discord, as he was invisible. Discord had used his "vampire" powers to do so. No magic, not even his own, could make a pony invisible. Discord stood as still as possible, and she eventually flew away, back on her trail. "What are you doing?" muttered Discord, so quiet Fluttershy couldn't hear. In a bush, he heard a faint growling. He appeared in front of it, still invisible, and looked in it. A timberwolf pup was in there, looking starved. He scooped it up and thought, Fluttershy might see this as a nice gift. It growled again. "Oh, shut up." Discord teleported to the cottage, left it there, and teleported near Fluttershy. She seemed to walk for an endless time. Finally, she stopped. There was fear in her eyes. Discord followed her gaze. The creature that attacked him was right ahead! It started running toward Fluttershy, ready to bite. Discord became visible and leaped at it. He didn't know the sun was setting. "Discord! The sun!" Fluttershy shouted, but not much of a shout, and Discord couldn't hear. The sun set, and Discord lay limp on the group. What agony he was in! He looked at the sky, realizing it was night now. He changed to the vampire form he owned, and got up. The creature was growling, and it too had changed some. Not much, but it had glowing red eyes and sharp fangs. Discord was aware of his fangs, but he couldn't care less. "Come at me you mutt!" yelled Discord, as he braced to fight. The thing started walking toward him, looking calm. "You should know you have the power to take over Equestria." said the creature. Discord was shocked, but thought. "Why would I want to?" snarled Discord, clearly angry. The creature laughed. "Who wouldn't want to rule Equestria?" asked the creature, clearly taking Discord's answer as a joke. "I guess I do still like the idea, but my love for Fluttershy is going to keep me from it. But, I am still happy, which is good, and I shouldn't end it now!" snapped Discord, thinking of his love. "Another reason you should have let me kill her. I was going to get you next, but not kill you. When you got in the way, you caused me some embarrassment, as I never missed a kill before. Kill that pegasus and reach ultimate power!" commanded the creature. Discord was shocked, angry, hurt, nostalgic, and thoughtful. I could find another mare, and have Equestria, one side screamed. The other screamed, don't, she understands you and loves you, don't break her heart and yours for a silly ambition! "Discord, don't listen to it!" yelped Fluttershy, finally finding her voice. The creature snarled. "Shut up, fool!" it whacked her, but didn't bite her. Fluttershy cried. "Well, is it ultimate power, or a wimpy pegasus?" questioned the creature. Discord made up his mind and turned his gaze to Fluttershy. "Do. Not. HURT HER!" screeched Discord, as he rammed into the creature, making it cry out. "Bad choice. But for now, we will not fight." the creature ran off, and before Discord could find it, the creature was gone. "Fluttershy, are you OK? For a second, my old awful ambition was getting to me. But I couldn't lose you." said Discord, as he teleported them to the cottage. "I knew you were going to make the right decision." said Fluttershy. "What ever were you doing in the Everfree Forest anyway?" snapped Discord, narrowing his eyes. Fluttershy winced. "Those timberwolves were scared out, and now I know what scared them. Obviously it was that... that thing scared them out." said Fluttershy. Discord sighed. "You could have told me!" he said, and he remembered the pup. "Close your eyes." "Why?" "Just close your eyes." She did so, and Discord got the pup, and it growled again. "Oh shut up you." Fluttershy giggled, thinking she knew what she was getting. "OK, open them." Fluttershy gasped, but still smiled. "A timberwolf pup! It's so cute. Thank you!" Fluttershy hugged Discord, who returned it gratefully. "I know it's a timberwolf, but my mother said she raised one as a pup, and it was a great and loyal wolf!" Fluttershy hugged the pup next, who didn't growl, but panted with playfulness, and when she set it down, it rolled onto its back, and Fluttershy rubbed its stomach. "I found it in a bush." explained Discord. Fluttershy smiled. Discord sat down, and thought. He rest his head on his hand, suddenly remembering the extra fang and quickly pulled his head up. This is great.
Side Story: Flutterbat Night Fluttershy one day went to see Applejack, when AJ's bell went off. That usually meant there is an emergency, and Fluttershy rushed with the rest of her friends to get over to see if Applejack was alright. "Thank y'all for coming. Vampire fruit bats have been attackin' the orchard. I need y'all to help me get 'em out." said Applejack. _________ Fluttershy agreed to do the stare on the vampire fruit bats to save the apple orchard. She gave them the stare, and Twilight cast a spell on them, making the bats not want to eat apples again. Fluttershy felt a strange sensation fall over her, and then the bats looked around, and flew off. "Girls, go see if the bats still want the apples." commanded Twilight. Rainbow held an apple to some bats, and they all turned the apple away, and did other things. "Aw, yeah! More cider for the winter!" exclaimed Rainbow as she bit into the apple. Fluttershy couldn't feel anything but guilt, what would the bats eat now? _________ That night, Fluttershy didn't feel well. She finished her daisy sandwich she made for dinner, and went into her room. Angel was asleep, in his little bed. When Fluttershy was halfway to her bed, she fainted and lay there on the ground. _________ Flutterbat, a new personality, woke up inside of Fluttershy. Fluttershy's wings turned bat-like and her eyes were red. Flutterbat was in the control, and she flew to the apple orchard. The only thought in her mind was, I have to eat the delicious and juicy apples, or ponies. Flutterbat started jumping at apples in the first tree. She found a rabbit, and attacked it. Flutterbat drank down its blood, and then went back to the apples. That rabbit was amazing, thought Flutterbat, as she sucked the juice from an apple. "What in the hay is all this here racket?" asked Applejack to herself as she trotted around. She gasped. "Oh Celestia! What happened to this bunny?" Applejack prodded it, and leaped back. "I gotta find the gun." Applejack ran off, leaving Flutterbat in shock. "I should have been more careful! Now, I have to stay as hidden as I can. I also better move to the other side of the orchard." muttered Flutterbat to herself, as she flew as fast as she could to the other side of the orchard. "Nice place here, full of animals and apples." Flutterbat only caught 1 more animal, as the rest were scared off, but ate a whole section of the apples. It was quite a good meal, thought the yellow bat pony to herself. She saw the sun starting to rise, and hissed. Flutterbat flew to the door of her cottage, and fainted. _________ "Oh dear..." said Fluttershy, as Applejack said she found a dead rabbit in the orchard. Fluttershy had no memory of the previous night. What possibly wanted to kill a cute bunny? "Maybe Twi's spell backfired and the bats want to eat animals now!" Applejack had gotten the rest of the ponies, and Twilight gasped. "Maybe... But, nopony leaves the orchard tonight until we find out the mystery!" Twilight says, and everypony but Fluttershy cheers. What if she was attacked by whatever killed the bunny? Fluttershy started off searching the orchard from the ground. The 6 split up and were searching around. Fluttershy wasn't feeling well again. She fainted... again... _________ Flutterbat awoke again. She looked around, making sure nopony was around. She flew past a white unicorn, having no memories of what happened before. She swooped not too far from the unicorn's head. She then flew off and ate some apples. She then hung upside-down on a branch and wrapped her wings around herself. An orange earthpony dropped her jaw and put a symbol in the sky. The bat-pony didn't care. She hung there, seeing more ponies gather around. "Hey silly!" said a pink earthpony, as she shined a light in Flutterbat's eyes. Flutterbat hissed, making the pony go back to the ground. Good riddance, thought Flutterbat as she ate another apple. The ponies were talking to each other, but Flutterbat couldn't hear them. She then swooped not far from their heads and went somewhere else and found a squirrel and sucked its blood dry. She ate some apples until she scented the best smelling apple she ever scented. Flutterbat went toward a huge apple and the orange pony kicked it. Flutterbat saw something giving it a hard stare, then flew over to another, then was paralyzed by a last one. A purple alicorn used her horn and wrapped Flutterbat in a pink case. Flutterbat struggled around, but it was no use. She blacked out. _________ Fluttershy opened her eyes, and her friends ran up to her and hugged her. Fluttershy was confused. "You were a vampire!" said Pinkie. Panic washed over Fluttershy. "I tried to eat ponies?" asked Fluttershy, frantic. "No!" "So I wasn't a vampire?" "Yes." "Yes I was or yes I wasn't?" "Yes you were." "I'm confused." said Fluttershy finally, and then they went to their homes and slept.
Where's Discord Fluttershy woke up one day, and looked in Discord's room. He was gone, and he was nowhere in the cottage or garden. It has been 2 weeks since Discord was first changed. Fluttershy looked around, but still, no sign. She was sitting down when a note appeared in front of her. My dear Fluttershy, I left looking for the creature that had tried to attack you before, and if I don't come back alive within the next week, get help and warn ponies about a creature in the forest. Please don't come looking for me, as you can't really defend yourself. No offense, you are weak. Please don't be offended as I was saying the truth, well I will be gone for a day or so. Please, if something doesn't seem normal, run from it. If Ponyville is attacked during my search, run. I wish you happiness while I'm gone, my dearest. -Discord Fluttershy wished this was a prank because Discord could really get hurt! She didn't care that Discord said for her to stay out of the forest. When it was night, she ran as fast as she could towards it. She skidded to a stop right outside of the forest. Do I really want to do this, after how I encountered that dangerous thing, asked Fluttershy to herself, well Discord might need help! I will do anything to help him, even at the risk of my life. I love him! Fluttershy thought those three words over and over as she ran through the dark and scary forest. She brought her timberwolf pup, who was almost fully grown. Timberwolves grow fast! She had named him Stick. "Stick, make sure nothing attacks me." commanded Fluttershy, as she went into a tall tree, looking around. She couldn't see anything. "Stick, can you see anything?" asked Fluttershy, and the wolf shook its head, no. Fluttershy sighed. Where could he be? Is he in trouble? Fluttershy thought of what could have happened. He could be safe! She didn't want to think the alternative... Fluttershy had her attention caught back when she saw Stick fighting a smaller timberwolf. "Stick! Be careful!" cried Fluttershy, as the tiny timberwolf that he was fighting seemed very strong. Fluttershy and the wolf ran away when Stick crumpled the tiny wolf, slowing it down so they could get away. Even the tiny wolves are aggressive here, thought Fluttershy. "I hope Discord is OK..." Stick nodded, and Fluttershy remembered how Discord used his magic to make Stick have pony characteristics, but Stick didn't learn how to talk completely, so it doesn't say anything.. yet. "Wait." whispered Fluttershy. She heard a growl in the bushes, deadly familiar. "Discord!" Discord jumped out of the bushes on all fours and snarled. "Discord?" Discord stopped and stood up, looking confused. "Fluttershy? What are you doing here? I told you to stay out!" Discord was in his vampire form, and he looked kinda scary with the dark surrounding them. "It is dangerous! I thought you were a creature and I was ready to fight anything that is a threat. If I didn't know it was you, you could've been hurt!" Discord sighed and looked thoughtful. "You did bring Stick, he could protect you." he was looking at the wolf, who was panting from the running. "Yes." replied Fluttershy, as she gave a treat to Stick. "Tell me, why are you out here?" asked Discord, as he narrowed his eyes. "In the note, you said you were going to find the creature, and I know how much damage it can do! I was worried if you were going to be alive when you came back. I was so worried, so I couldn't help but come out here!" explained Fluttershy, as she was blinking back tears. "You could have been hurt too!" exclaimed Discord. "But I can't live without you! Vampire or not, I love you!" Discord stayed quiet. He sighed again and sat on a log. He looked thoughtful. "Maybe we can let the creature come to us. Obviously it is going to want to kill you now. It wants ME to attack Equestria. Then it will find a good time, and kill me too, and control Equestria, making it night forever." said Discord. Fluttershy gaped. "H-How would you know that?" stammered Fluttershy. Discord looked down. "I was spying on it, and then I heard timberwolves fighting. I was worried if you were there, as I knew you would try to follow me!" said Discord. Fluttershy looked away, guilty. "Well, lets go home. It is almost sunrise, and I think the creature stays in that form forever now. As for me, I am going to feel a LOT of pain. So, I need somewhere comfortable." Discord teleported them to the cottage, and locked himself in his room. Fluttershy heard a little cry of pain, knowing he is starting to change back. She walked outside, as it was time to feed the animals. Plus, she didn't want to hear how he is in agony. She started feeding the animals.
