"Damn it!" I yelled, ducking down behind the police cruiser.
Suddenly, I heard a female's voice from nearby yell, "What are you waiting for?! Run you idiot!"
"It's not as easy as you think it is!" I yelled back with a scowl as a bullet almost nicked my ear. "Fuck!"
"Stallion up you pussy!"
"Bitch!" I screamed back, making a break for it. "SUCK MY DICK!" I bellowed as I sprinted across the parking lot as bullets whizzed past me.
Hello there, perhaps you're wondering what poor sod's head you're in? Maybe you're regretting everything you've done that led to this point? So have I, trust me, I regret a lot of things in life despite living life with a No Regrets rule. Good for me! But, now, I'm here to tell you a little story. But first, we should back track quite a bit so you can what all led up to this point.

What a glorious day! Yes... yes, it is a glorious day.
*BZZZZZZZZZZ*
Fuck you mosquito!
*SMACK-SPLAT*
"Goddamn it!"
Such was a day in my life.
My name is Dustin, I live in the state of Arkansas and I am employed as a writer... and by employed I actually mean unemployed and I spend at least ninety eight percent of my time online reading and writing stories about whatever pops into my head... the other two percent is spent sleeping and eating. I know, my life is so fun right?
Not really. You see, I'm a single, lazy as fuck, jobless twenty year old hick from the state of Arkansas living in a small town called Arlington. I lived in a small house with about seven other people, five dogs and two cats - and a huge rabbit which lives under the house - and... well... it's my life. While it's not as glamorous as I would like it, it's still my life and I intend to live it as best as I can.
As of right now, I was sitting outside my house, in the sad pathetic backyard with a broken plum tree, gazing up at another massive tree which was one small breeze away from falling onto my house and crushing it like a walnut. Everyone else was inside, doing their stuffs. What stuffs, I didn't know, nor did I care all that much. Dressed in my slacks, a dirty hoodie and shoes, I sat on a small Coca-cola crate, playing Angry birds.
Currently losing to a bunch of fucking pigs.
"You don't even have arms! How can you build this shit anyway?!" I squeaked as I used my last bird on the fortress in the game, it was a crime against nature that armless pigs could build such strong fortifications. A crime I tell ya! Huffing, I quit the game and looked at the time which read 12:00 and sighed. "Seriously? Too damn early." I muttered, swatting at a bug that flew near me. Even though it was like sixty degrees outside, the damn bugs kept flying around.
Persistent little buggers they are.
With a sigh I turned my phone off and sat back, looking into the cloudy sky above as I laid my arms across my lap, wringing my hands together. My breath left in puffs of white smoke, billowing up into the air and disappearing, leaving me just a bit cooler. Some birds flew overhead, heading south. Summer had ended just a while ago, and it was the fifth of October, so... eh, Halloween was coming up and, as much as I would love to go to a party or go out. It just wasn't possible around here, the most I could do was go to the local store, but that wouldn't be as fun.
Looking back towards the house, I frowned, the tale tale feeling of depression welling up in my gut. I shook my head, coughing. Don't fucking start. I told myself, I get enough of that shit just thinking about life.
I needed something... something, fun to do. Browsing Fimfiction for new stories was fun and all, but sometimes I needed something else. No new music, movies, TV shows... I had nothing, and with my TV busted I couldn't play any games.
"Oi." I groaned, rubbing my eyes. "Can't I get something fun?"
I wonder, if I hadn't said that... would things have turned out differently?
*BOOOOOM*
The explosion was loud and knocked me off the crate, it was loud, nearby and shook the ground with such force I swear I almost shit myself! The dogs all started barking, hell, every dog in the town was barking and howling. I just sat there, watching a small pillar of smoke rising from the woods near the trailers, almost near the old clubhouse where me and my family used to hang out. What the fuck exploded?! Sounded like a goddamn cannon!
"Dustin!" I heard from the kitchen window, turning around and looking I saw my sister peeking out. "What the hell was that?!"
"How the fuck would I know?! Shit blew up!" I yelled back, getting up and dusting off my pants. The smoke was still rising, and I feared there was a fire, we did not need a fire breaking out. Sure its cold as balls, but it wouldn't stop a fire from starting. "I'm going to check it out!" I told her, grabbing a nearby shovel and running off to the woods.
"Don't go running off!"
"I have a shovel!"
"That's not a good reason!"
"Shovel!"
"Bu-"
"SHOVEL!"
I ran far away from the house, disappearing from sight and thus cutting off my sister's voice. I gripped the shovel in both hands, looking at the woods near my older sister's trailer which she did not live in. She bought it for reasons I still don't understand. The woods were undisturbed, the brush was light and I could see inside, but not enough to make out any blast marks or anything of the such. Steeling myself, I went inside.
Okay, a part of you is probably wondering, why is he going into the woods after an explosion, armed with a shovel... well, for one thing, I'm an idiot, two, I have this weird thing called bravery. I mean, I practically use my social media for talking about a show targeted for little girls, and I'm a guy who shouldn't like it because of my age and gender, and yet I do anyways. Simply put, I'm brave, or so I'm told by my family.
Ain't bravery, just me being me.
Pushing past the brush, I made my way into the woods and around the chicken coop which to my sadness was devoid of chickens. Immediately spotting the clubhouse. It was undamaged, thankfully. Losing the clubhouse, despite not going inside it much would have sucked. The area ahead however, I could see some scorch marks, the ground had been burned and the trees had lost some bark. I held my shovel high, stepping forth and keeping my breath steady. I smelled something... odd, ozone... That's a smell that comes from electricity. I reminded myself, an electrical fire? There weren't any power lines in the woods, or any electric devices I knew of.
I smelled something foul... and for once it wasn't me.
Looking around at the burn marks, I noticed some of them were smaller heading in, and further ahead, I saw a bigger burn mark that sizzled, small trails of smoke rising up from the marking. This told me the mark was the center of the burn and the epicenter of the explosion. How did I know that? Just an investigative eye I guess, despite being half blind.
"Dustin!" I heard from behind me. "Where are you!"
"In here!" I called back, that was my sister, guess she came outside. "Found the explosion center." I told her as she came up behind me, followed by heavier footfalls. Looking behind me, I saw something that made my heart skip a beat.
A police officer...
Cops scare me...
"Did you get hurt?" My sister, who's name is Autumn asked me.
I scoffed, shouldering my shovel. "Nah, just... weirded out." I told her, looking back at the burn as the cop looked around.
"What do you mean?"
"You smell that." I told her.
She smelled the air around us, face scrunching up. "Ozone?"
"Yeah, that shouldn't be right." I mean... as far as I knew of explosions, they didn't smell of Ozone... or did they? I wasn't sure. "That would mean there was something electrical out here, but there isn't."
Autumn then sighed. "Don't be getting smart on me."
"I'm using logic, that does not make me smart." I told her, shrugging as the officer walked back over to us. "So..." I started, looking towards the officer who's name was Mick. "Find anything buddy?"
He shook his head. "Nope," He gave us both a look. "I have to ask, do you two have anything that could explode out here?"
Autumn shook her head. "No, we don't."
"Sure about that?"
I sighed to myself, this was going to take a while, and end in flames most likely.
Later
After some more conversation with Officer Mick, some minor blaming and more investigating, the officer had left and I was still standing where the explosion went off. While everyone else was off this and it was old news, I was still... pensive, what caused it? I mean, chances are whatever caused it is long gone, but I was still curious. Call me an idiot, but I wanted to know, and damned I was going to find out what caused this.
I still had the shovel in my hand, and I was looking around the woods still. Doing some of my own investigating, granted I'm half blind but I was doing alright... somewhat...
Kinda...
Okay not really.
But I was trying damn it!
The burn marks were circular, and my gamer senses were tingling, telling me this wasn't normal. What could burn like this? It was like something had come from above and hit the ground, but instead of leaving a crater, left these burn marks instead. The trees were somewhat left unscathed, save for a few pieces of bark missing and some more burns. Some more looking at the ground and I saw something, it was faint but I saw a small indent in the ground. Actually, it was kinda big, and it looked like a half circle, something was moving out here. there were more of them, four in a pattern heading south, and by that I mean towards the clubhouse.
My eyes slowly went up to look at the clubhouse, for some reason it was really easy to overlook despite being right there in the open. There was no door on the front, and it was built a little ways away from the chicken coop. And the trail of prints led right to it. Meaning, something was inside, maybe... and probably watching me through the open spaces between the boards. I held my shovel up, making my way over to the clubhouse. Who or whatever almost set my woods on fire could be hiding out in the clubhouse, but who was it?
And were they dangerous? Or...?
I shook my head, I can ask questions later.
I came up to the door, taking a few deep breathes as I heard something moving around inside... with a deep breath, I moved into the clubhouse, shovel raised high. "Freeze sucka!" I yelled, trying to look menacing. However, that look vanished when I saw just who was inside the clubhouse. Now, Arkansas was home to a lot of oddballs, and I've seen quite a few of them whenever I went out. It took a lot to surprise me anymore, but this made me drop my shovel in a comical fashion.
Standing in the clubhouse, as colorful as I imagined them, were two ponies... there are horses around my town, but these... were My Little Pony style ponies... pastel colors, bright huge eyes, wings and a horn and the somewhat small bodies. Bright orange and yellow eyes stared at me from the inside, and I knew... who they were. They weren't the main six, they weren't any Background ponies or even fillers.
Their names were Blast Powder, and Blast Fuse...
Two OCs I created.
"The fuck."
