Following the events of Sword Art Online ll, Asuna and Kazuto learn of a new worldspace in the upcoming expansion for ALO. When it finally arrives, Kazuto and Asuna, along with the group and a new friend, Hyoma, they discover an new world to explore. When an old foe rises, they must also rise to defend it.

After his legs were paralyzed when he was in a car accident, he turned to ALO as a way to cope with the pain. He's kind and sincere, with a tendency to be rather brash at times, leading him to rush into battles without making preparations. Even so, he's able to think on the fly with new strategies.
