Surviving the apoclypseby Sbtlr02ChaptersIntroductionMutationsHealing Wounds TurnedCanceledIntroduction(I might jump in sometimes to explain and try to ignore my spelling mistake noones perfect) In the magical land of Equestria there was a terible apocalypse were most of the population of ponies was either killed or turned into monsters. What remained of the normal ponies banded together in small cumunities to survive. Our story follows my adventures though this dark time in history. My name is Sammuel (sam for short) and i'm a unicorn I have a blond mane and a cream coat with a wrench for a cutie mark because I was a mechanic before the apocalypse, along with my best friend Noah who has a red mane and teal coat with racing flag for a cutie mark becuase he used to be a racer Now i'll start a few months in and we were on a scavenging mission to find resources for the scientist we rescued to make better gear for us to use, they already made a vacine to fight vampirism but it has to be injected at most 2 minutes after the inicial bite, (the way it works is it slows down how fast the heart pumps blood so the venom can't get very close to the brain. Unfortunately if you take more than 5 at once it could stop your heart) and we were told to use 2 for a neck bite and 1 for any were else because how close the neck is to the brain plus how much blood it pumps. "Noah do you think we'll ever go back to our normal lives?" I had asked him, walking through the abandoned Ponyville streets. "To be honest not any time soon" He replied hovering next to me. "Yeah, hopefully" I sighed. "On your left!" He yelled shooting his shotgun next to my ears. "Ow!, i have sensitive ears remember" I said angrily. "Oh right, oops" he smirked shyly. "We better get back to base, it's getting dark." "Yeah, but look it's a royal guard soldier" he said excited, royal guard soldiers meant more ammo, hey he or she wasn't gonna use it any more. As a routine I put my hoof on his chest in case he woke up as a vampire and aimed my revolver at his head loaded with silver bullets a vampires one of many weaknesses. If he did get a bite of I had some vaccine syringes in my saddle bag along with ammo. And some abilitie boosters to level the playing field with a big group (they give you inhansed hearing, speed, sight, smell, strength, and reflexes by boosting the rate blood pumps through your vains, but you can't take another until 2 and a half hours later because it could cause a heart attack, yeah everything has some down side, it sucks) "Lets make this quick before more monsters come out for night hunting." "Okay" he said checking for ammo and other stuff. When we got back to base our leading scientist Bon-bon galloped over obviously wanting to tell us something important. I dropped my saddlebags onto my bed in the sleeping quarters. "Yes Bon-bon?" I asked anticipating some boring speech. "How did you... never mind, we have a new breakthrough if either of you to can't get a vaccine in time we created a new syringe that fends off the feral part of the venom, the first time is 2 months and all the rest are 1 month like a prescription. We've been able to make 2 already and they take 2 weeks to create." "So if one of us got bitten by a vampire when we're out of vaccine we can take this and now we'll have a friendly vampire on our side giving us whole new opritunities. " "Yes but we couldn't get all the vampiral impulses under control like blood still has a distracting effect and eye color." "Why eye color?" "Well the vampirism makes your eyes red for some reason, we don't really know yet. Also we made some contacts that make your eyes a specific color, like they used to be. So you won't be wrongfully attacked by surviving pony groups." "Cool now i'm goin to bed." "Okay good night!" She called trotting off back to oversee the lab. Hopefully nothing much would happen. How wrong i was. "Sam wake up!" "Ack! What is it?" I asked sleepily . "We gotta go there was a small fgroup that was found by a scout drone, it's under attack by a minor force to us but huge to them!" "Okay lets get goin." I galloped as fast as I could behind Noah, although I was falling behind a little. We turned the corner into the small side street at the edge of town. We were shocked to see what was happening to the pour ponies. Before thinking I charged shooting my way through the small horde of vampires with Noah shortly following behind me. At the sight of me and Noah slauhting through the horde what remained of the small villige residents grabbed what they could make a weapon out of (gun, wood stake, silver knife stuff like that) to help us. Within minutes the once formidable horde was nothing but a pile of bodies. "Thank you so much" the obvious leader chimed, he was a light brown earth pony with a brown mane "It's no big deal we're just protecting what normal ponies we can" I said putting a green syinge in Noahs bite on his leg. "Okay but do take this radio so I can contact you if we get invaded again." "Yeah okay, by the way what's your name?" "You can call me Dr whoves" (I couldn't put him with vinyl, lyra, etc because of the 5 characters max thing). "I'll just call ya doc okay." "Fine by me, bye now." So me and Noah left to go back to base, I still wanted my two hours of sleep I missed. But unknown to me this week would be something I would rather forget for the rest of my life. Author's Note Thank you for reading the first chapter of my book. Now please try not to be too cruel in the comments. I'll write the next chapter as soon as I can. Mutations(Forgot to explain that the base is one of those really expensive to book motel complex. Also it's protected by a machine that produces a bubble around the complex, which only let's you through if your DNA is in the machine's database and it detects only pure pony bood. No vampire venom or something like that.) "Hey Sam wake up." Noah said shaking me. "What is it?" I said sleepily. "It's 12:00 in the afternoon, we gotta start training for the day." "Can't I skip it for today training?" "Do you wanna die because your not physically fit?" He said in a motivational tone. "No." I replied stubbornly. "Then lets get going." Our training course was a standard gym with a climbing wall, it had all the usual stuff you'd find in a gym, except it was one of those fancy rich school like gyms. Accustomed with our personal target practicing area, and built in track session. Our training usually lasts a 3 hour time period any time we wanted or through out the day if we went scavenging. Today though I decided to work on my running for an hour to keep up with Noah, he was a racer so speed is a major strong point for him. After practicing with him till I felt I'd collapse, I decided to work on my aim for half an hour or so before using the climbing wall for the rest of the time. "I'm gonna go get some hot chocolate! Do ya want some?" I called to Noah who was working on his aim for some extra time.( On a scale of a 100 though, I was probably our best shooter since I have score of 91 and Noah....well he was a 60, I guess that's why he preferred the shotgun.) "No I'm good!" "Okay do ya want a apple or something?" He paused for a sec and called "Sure!" So I went and brought his apple while I used my magic to float some hot chocolate next to me. "Why don't you drink coffee?" He asked me. "I just think it tastes gross." "Then why do you drink hot chocolate?" he asked giving me a bemused stare. "Because it wakes me up like coffee, except it actually tastes good" I replied like it was obvious. "Riight" he snorted, then turned his attention to the mare approaching us "Hey it's Bon-bon" he said waving at her as she entered our room (and yeah we share a room with a mare. It's mainly because we're a great team and good friends...no ulterior motives I promise) "I'm gonna go get some snacks for our scavenging, later" he said throwing out the apple core. "Okay see ya when you get back" turning my attention to the beige mare I asked "What's up Bon-bon?" The mare looked disturbed as she spoke "There's been a mutation in the unicorn vampires, they can they can make themselves look normal, as in not like a vampire. No fangs, no red eyes. Completely normal" "Oh goodie." I sarcastically said feeling any form of good news slip away. "Really, isn't that a bad thing?" I looked at her disappointed. "That was sarcasm Bon-y" (Bon-Bon's smart, but sarcasm isn't really her forte.) "Oh...right" she said looking away sheepishly, clearing her throat my friend spoke up once again. "There's one more thing." I knew I wouldn't like this. She had that nervous look in her eye. "Pegasus vampire's seemed to have gained some speed with their flight now, their learning how to fly much much faster than I thought." "Yup because surviving wasn't hard enough." I said angrily as I finished up my hot chocolate. "I wasn't happy when I found this out myself" she stated her tone just barely reaching a whisper. "Whatever, I gotta head out for scavenging with Noah." "Be safe!" she yelled as I left the room, heading off to the armory with my saddlebag. I met up with Noah soon enough, but neither of us planned on what we were going to see soon. "Stupid mutation, now we have to be twice as careful" I mumbled to myself not paying attention until I walked right into a light pole, I grumbled as my face met metal, rubbing my muzzle as I backed away in pain. "Are you okay?" Noah asked. "You seem a bit agitated." "Peachy" I grumbled quickly drawing my revolver and shooting an earth pony vampire that had been rushing towards us. As the creature fell I got a clear look at its hideous mutated fangs. I cringed. "How did you know he was there?" he asked puzzled. "Dummy stepped on a leaf, sensitive hearing remember?" "Right...so what did Bon-bon say?" "Unfortunately now P (pegasus) vampires are learning to fly and at an accelerating rate, luckily for us though they can only hover right now. Also U (unicorn) vamps at least the ones that are smart are figuring out how to use their magic and you're gonna love this one, they can pose as a normal pony" I said flatly, checking our surroundings. "Your kidding right?" "Nope." "ARE YOU KIDDING ME!" He yelled. "Hey ssh" I scolded noticing bodies a couple blocks ahead. Cautiously we trotted up to them, doing our best to not make even the tiniest sound. "How fresh do you think they are?" I asked when we'd finally reached one. "Few hours at most" Noah replied grimly, as we stared at the slash marks running down their throats. I felt nauseous, almost instantly. "Lets not take any chances and just avoid them" I stated turning away in disgust, but stopped as I heard a whizzing sound, wrapping Noah in my magic I pushed us up a few feet, dodging a syringe like figure that came right at us, lodging itself in the ground were my right foreleg had been. The syringe quickly dispersed its toxins into the ground. Almost instantly the ground began to crumble and liquefy. Noah gawked. "I guess you heard the whistle of it flying through the air huh?" he asked nonchalantly. "Yes" I replied smugly, "now quick get behind cover" we quickly cantered over to an abandoned building nearby knocking over a cart and getting behind it. "I think we discovered a new mutation." "What makes you say that?" he asked dumbly. "U vampires are getting smarter. That syringe back there, I've never seen anything like it. I don't know how but they may have just developed that. And in such short time to." "Celestia dammit all to hell" Noah growled slamming his hoof into the dirt. Another whistling sound came and lodged itself right into the cart protecting us with a loud thud. It immediately began to melt. "Yeah, now run for your life" I said dashing away from the cart running towards the direction of our base. As we ran more and more syringe's came flying at us, Noah zoomed by. since he was faster than I so he had a better chance of escaping, luckily I new a few spells of my own. Casting a bubble like shield spell around myself I did my best to keep up with my companion. I hadn't noticed when the shooting had finally stopped, probably because my adrenaline was pumping. Though you could never be to careful in this apocalypse. My ears twitched as I heard a hissing sound. Noah and I slowly turned. A pair of red eyes were staring at us from the shadows of a run down shop, soon enough several other pairs joined them. Noah looked at me. I sighed, "Say it." "Celestia blow me to the moon" he shouted as we cantered off in a different direction. After an hour of of running and hiding we made it to a old hut, we ducked inside to avoid the pursuing hoard. I checked myself for bites as Noah peeked outside. As he opened the door more saw a normal pony get hit by one of the magic syringes. Within a minute the poor pony woke up with fangs and blood red eyes. He looked over at me and stared, clearly shocked at what he saw. "What?" I whispered. "The magic syringes from the U vampires. They turn you within a few minutes" the surprise in his voice almost palpable. Confusion struck, then realization, my eyes widening all at the same time. " They've learned how to dilute their blood into carriers now? Oh Celestia this is bad. Neck bites take a few hours. Anywhere else to day or so." "I know, lets sneak out" he suggested. I didn't like it but what other choice did we have. "Fine, but it's your fault if we die." So we snuck out and with careful observation and stealth we were back in our base. After a conversation with Bon-Bon we got some hoodies with silver knitted into the fabric to protect us from the syringes. Maybe one day when this is all over, I can go back to my normal life. But not any time soon sadly. Author's Note I want to thank my editor Black Hailstorm for fixing up the spelling mistakes I made. The next chapter will be up as soon possible. Editor: http://www.fimfiction.net/index.php?view=category&user=244621 Healing Wounds Healing Wounds (Turns out along with the U vampire mutation. E (earth pony) vampires, well some have increased physical strength. All vampires have increased strength. Just now some E vampires have even more strength.) My ears twitched slightly when a slight whistle came out of nowhere. "Get behind cover!" I yelled pushing Noah behind a pile of crates. But I however didn't get behind it in time, getting caught by the syringe in my back right leg. "Ow what?" he said puzzled, until he saw me pull the syringe out of my leg with my magic and then it evaporated. "Oh, sorry." "It's not your fault I just wasn't quick enough," I said calmly putting 3 vaccine syringes in my leg. Bon-bon was able to figure out it takes 3 vaccines to fend off the venom from the syringe, before it could do either serious damage to the body or infect me with their venom. "Are you kidding the amount of times you've saved my flank with that amazing hearing, well I'd be dead a long time ago if it weren't for that" he said clearly making it sound like it was a gift from Celestia herself. "Stop it already" I said feeling the embarrassment creeping in. "Maybe you could tell Bon-bon I got hit and we have to head back early" I said feeling tired from the days scavenge I pushed the radio into his chest. "Oh right, I forgot 3 of the vaccines make you sleepy." "Yeah hurry up before I pass out." I mumbled feeling grumpy already. "Fine you get going I'll catch up" Noah said waving me to move on up. "Alright" I nodded. I had nearly passed out due to sleep and possible exertion by the time I got back to base before finally reaching to our room. I simply flopped onto my bed. Moments passed and in a matter of seconds I was asleep. The dream I ended up having though was...disturbing, weird if anything else were to describe it. Noah got hit by a V-syringe, and we were out of vaccines. I felt the cold grip of fear take hold of me when I saw that. But before I could see what happened next I woke up. Feeling more disturbed than I had since this entire apocalypse, I went to the gym to work on my reflexes and help wake me up more. I heard the door creak open and turned my head to see Bon-bon looking at me. "Hey Bon-y." I said cheerfully. Surprisingly I didn't get the same cheerful response. "You should leave" she said in a dark and kinda angry tone. "Wha- Why? What did I do?" I asked completely puzzled by her demeanor. "Not what you did, what you unintentionally caused" she said her expression appearing less angered but still had a dark tone. "And what is that exactly?" I asked feeling annoyed, by this sudden accusation . My previous feelings of scarceness and bemusement being gobbled up as I waited for her response. "It's Noah he ran off for no reason, said something about you getting hit, and it being his fault." I felt my jaw drop, ambivalent emotions running through me. The top three were anger, confusion and shock. "Do you have anything that'll tell me where he went?" I asked trying to suppress the anger and shock in my voice. "All we know is he went towards the south" she said flatly and sympathetically. "You better bring him back" she mumbled and from the tone in her voice I could tell that she was angry at no one in particular maybe it was me, maybe it was Noah. Bon-bon was simply just upset by these sudden turn of events. And who could blame her? I knew I was. "Good enough, I'll be back as soon as I can" I said gravely, feeling more like a leader than I had since this whole fiasco started. Where could he be? I wonderded to myself stumped. We haven't been here since the raid of an old lab our friend used to own. With that thought I figured out where he went. There it was, the 3rd floor lab our friend Steve used to own. The building was run down. Broken glass and equipment scattered all over, even on the outside pieces of broken equipment, chemical glasses and flasks lay sprawled across the ground. I stared at the old lab, feeling old memories slowly rushing back to mind. Biting my tongue I forced the thoughts out of my head, now wasn't the time for reminiscing I needed to find Noah. Slowly walking towards the building as I got closer I began to wonder Why would he choose a place like this to hide? No, more importantly why would he just up and leave like that?! That's just- just so stupid! I stomped, stopping in front of the building trying to avoid any broken glass as best I could. Taking one last look around me I looked at the building, then I entered. Hesitantly. The 1st floor had nothing besides a few corpse here and there, rotten from either weeks ago thanks to the raid we did months ago for research equipment. The second floor was empty mainly because it was used for storage. (records, broken equipment, etc) I didn't think I'd need anything in there so I just moved on up the stairs. I was careful when going through the third floor because the door to it was very heavily barricaded on the side of the door facing the stairwell. I let my mind wander while I searched, but not enough I would be caught off guard. How do you know he's even here? the voice in my head asked me. "He has to be, where else would he go to mope about this?" But he could be some where else hurt , dying, injured,or maybe even dead. Heck for all we know he could be one of them right now. Besides even if he were you wouldn't kill him if it came to it. "It won't come to that" I argued. "I won't let it, we've lost enough already I'm not losing my best friend to these things" I'd been searching in silence so far and was staring to have my own doubts of Noah even being here. Maybe he really isn't here, I thought biting my lip. That's when I heard footsteps. My ear twitched, and silently I tracked the source. Turning a corner I found about 12 vampires crowded around a door. One turned and hissed at me. I took aim and shot. Direct hit, although they all know I'm here now. Darn, just what the doctor asked for. "Hey bloodsuckers come at me!" the stupid looks they gave me were priceless. "Now you sure that was a good idea?" one asked me with a hiss, as it licked its lips approaching. Well that's just great they can talk now! Only good thing that comes from this is that it makes good research. (Aside from that annoying hiss), I'd say this situation is pretty bad. But! I have an idea: Reasoning. Sure this maybe an apocalypse but reasoning never hurts right? I tried to convince myself as I approached. "Sorry I can't understand what you're saying may want to fix that hissing noise" I said my ears twitching. "So who's the pony you got trapped behind the door hm? Or rather what exactly are you trying to get behind the door" I asked maintaining my distance. They didn't answer. OK. New approach. "Better question, why isn't that door opened yet?" I asked backing up a bit as the vampires got closer. A mare pony with a dark grey coat and lime colored mane looked away. "What is it?" The mare vampire keeping her gaze down looked embarrassed to say what was on her mind. Now that I looked at the rest of the group so did the others. "What's wrong?" I asked my assailants again. "W-We can't open the door" They couldn't open the door?. The reason they hadn't advanced into whatever was in that room was because they couldn't open the door. Staring blankly at the group of U-vampires I felt a small crack in my face forming. Then I fell over laughing. "You can't open a door? That is really funny considering there was 12 of you, you should've had the strength or at least the magic to break through," I said in between fits of laughter. The growls I got in response made me stop. Oooh yeah, looks like I reminded them of the dead guy back there. Hearing faint clicking I instinctively turned punching the vampire behind me as I firmly dug my hoof into his skull I heard a cracking sound before the mutated pony fell to the ground with a thud, his body motionless. "I'm not that stupid. You can't sneak up on me. See these?" I said wiggling my ears, "They're way more sensitive than you think" I stated using my magic to lift the gun out of its holster. "Now, let's quit talking. And start fighting." A feral growl was all I needed to reassure me that this talk was well beyond over. Pulling out my other gun a 2.34mm rimfire I grinned as the vampire unicorns began stepping towards me, their own weapons down, not bothering to lift them up since they believed they could close the distance no doubt. "Come at me you blood suckers." Instantly each of them split up charging at me from all sides, but I'd been prepared for this. Pulling out the third handgun that had been on placed on my other side I opened fire, jumping back just in the nick of time as one of the vampires lashed out at me firmly earning the ghoul a bullet in its skull. Within a matter of 10 seconds they were all dead, and not a scratch on me. I immediately rushed over to the door opening it with my magic, and then heard the clicking of a shotgun barrel. Looking up I slowly raised my eyes to see the barrel's mouth was pointed directly at my the side of my head. "Get out you vile beast" I immediately recognized the voice. Feeling a wave of relief rush over me I grinned under my hoodie. "But i though we were best friends?" I said wryly. "...Sam?" the voice behind the barrel said sounding surprised and almost...relieved. I turned to him. "Who else dummy?" I flicked down my hood to prove it. The next thing I new was the teal forehooves of my friend wrapping tightly around me in a hug. Which completely surprised me, Noah didn't do hugs. He never liked them. "A vampire led me in here disguised as you. Said we could hide in here until activity died down around the building", he stated his tone sounding much more hoarse now. Wait was he crying, Oh My Celestia he was. "But I noticed the red in his eyes, Once he realized I caught on he tried attacking me. He didn't bite me" he said lifting a reassuring hoof up to me as I immediately tensed up, his tears however didn't let up. Because the next thing he told me made me want to pound those vampire bodies into the earth. "He just bit all the ones that were outside, I heard it. And I didn't do anything. I didn't move or try to stop him, I just- he moved so fast and the next thing I knew they were all turned" Noah said finishing with a whimper. My lips went dry as I tried to think of the right words to comfort him. "Hey, its okay lets get back home before Bon-bon gets too worried." I began to stand up but he stopped me. "It really is my fault you got hit." His eyes were puffy and sore from crying, he must've done a lot of that when all those ponies got turned especially. "No its not. I just wasn't quick enough." "It is though," Noah stated defiantly. "I was coming here to visit Steve." Steve. Steve was a brown unicorn with a black mane. He had led research here on vampire fruit bats, trying to figure out what made them so quick and how they were so adept to the night. Why they were so addicted to apples in general as well. Noah continued speaking, "I was going to say hi and check in on how his research was going. But I didn't know he was in an experiment with his recently new assistant at the time. When I flew through the window and smacked into that bookcase over there" he said pointing a fetlock at a destroyed jumbled up piece of wood. "It caused Steve to inject the syringe into his assistant instead of the rat he was experimenting on." He paused, taking in a breath as he tried to hold back the tears that threatened to pour out of his eyes. "We didn't think anything bad, because it was a new serum and wasn't meant to do much. But when I stopped by to check in on him a few days later. Noah gulped shaking his head to clear the image of whatever vile thing had popped into his head. "His assistant had become a vampire from the serum somehow. The assistant killed Steve and I don't just mean bite and drained his blood. I mean flat out murder, the poor guy was everywhere." He pointed to the red stain on the floor. "I took off running through the building. But that monster followed biting ponies and turning them biting and turning ponies within an hour and later minutes. Before long the entire building was turned, I had already escaped by then though nly to find it too infested to return to. And, well that's when I found you as quick as I could. You know the rest of the story." I simply sat there, at a loss for words. Staring at Noah I could see the teal pegasus was tired, drained from today's events and coming back here had only brought up bad memories he'd forced himself to forget. So I did what I thought would be the next best action. I hugged him. And this time unlike all the others, he didn't push me away. I got up and looked at him forgiving his mistake. "I forgive you, what happened before this doesn't matter" I said direly wanting to change topics now that I knew what happened here. "Now lets get going. Also lets not let this conversation leave this room." He nodded. "Okay." And together we walked out of this vampire infested mouse trap with our weapons up, all the way till we reached base. We now had a new found trust in each other. And I could tell, that I'd be learning more than what I wanted as the days went on in our little apocalypse. Author's Note This chapter was a little harder for me to write because of school. Meaning I dont have much time to write. I'll get workin on the next chapter as soon as i can. Also i want to address that I'm gonna put a 3000 word minimum per chapter starting on the next one. So chapter 4 might take longer to write than the 3 posted before it. Please try not to be cruel in the comments and I hope you enjoyed. Also if you dont get the chapter name, I'm healing Noah's mental wound he gave himself for starting the apocalypse. TurnedAuthor's Note Warning! This chapter will have gore in it. Also school and the holidays has been getting in the way of me writing this and I haven't been in a writing mood lately. Normally when I get back from school I'm over stressed and annoyed. Putting me in a not so creative mood. Turned I jumped across the gap between rooftops. The hissing and yelling of the P (pegasus) vamponies, behind me keeping me from losing my stamina. (I'm gonna use vampony instead of vampire because it's a good pun, and i really like puns). I lept the gap using my magic to give me some extra distance before i fell. I thought it was a clever trick, until a P vampony slammed into my side knocking me over. Dazed I looked at the being who took me down. I braced myself for the pain of a bite. It was a quick one and I think the vampony on top of me was proud of them self for being able to take me out. Until they were shot in the head by my revolver. What? I may be pinned but I can still use my magic. Besides, I enjoy seeing their joy after biting 'Sam the vampony hunter'. Why not make their last moments a good one? Noah flew down holding off the horde I forgot was chasing me. "Are ya okay?" He asked. I gave him my usual sarcastic remark. "Peachy." It was my way of saying what do you think. "Gotcha, use a vaccine I can handle them." He said it so cockily it made me sick, or maybe that was the vampony venom. According to our research, vamponies tend to not like touchy emotions and exaggerated ones. But the same can't be said about the dark ones. I pulled out the two vaccine syringes required. But before I could use them, another P vampony plowed into me pushing me backwards to the edge of what looked to be one floor up from a fire escape. "Help!" I yelled trying my best to keep my balance. Noah turned and lunged to grab onto me. But I fell anyway. "No!" He yelled with a hint of i-wish-that-was-me in there. I fell hearing and painfully feeling a bone snap while I let out a cry of pain that would make the toughest stallion cringe. I tumbled down a flight of stairs cutting my right foreleg on something, then collapsed onto the metal of a platform of a fire escape, in seconds there were two or three vamponies around me. It was hard to tell with how fuzzy my vision was. I tried to use my magic to pull out my second pistol, but all that did was give me a headache. They looked at me, their prey, helpless and easily a free snack. One bent down and bit my left hind leg. Another bit my right hind leg. Those didn't hurt that much. But the third one, looked hungrily at my cut. He gave me the kinda look that said he was going to enjoy this. I looked over and saw my bone with some flesh hanging on by a little piece from the injury. I gagged trying not to loose my lunch, as another jolt of pain was sent through me. The blurry being above me started to lick the cut and I couldn't help but let out a cry of excruciating pain. As if on cue Noah flew down shooting the beings above me with his shotgun, which caused painful ringing in my ears. He raced over and pushed the bodies away from me, pulled a roll of bandages out of his saddlebag and began to wrap my wound, causing another cry of pain. Once he sat me up against a wall. "Are you okay?" He asked scared for my life. Now I love Noah, the guy's my best friend but seriously?! Am Iokay? I got a bone sticking out of my leg of course I'm not bucking okay!! "Oh I'm absolutely hunky-dory." I said woozily like i was drunk, most likely from blood lose. "No you aren't. Hang in there I'm gonna radio Bon-bon to ready a medic for when we get back." He said it trying to keep me, and himself, calm. "Oh is that all my blood? It looks so tasty. I think I'm gonna pass out now." I fell to my side and blacked out before I even hit the grating. I heard the flat line of a heart monitor. The fresh and cold air of an air conditioner. I smelt the sweet tasty aroma of a blood bag, wait what? My eyes shot open as three figures burst into the room. They were Bon-bon, Noah, and a medic I couldn't identify. "He's alive!" Noah shouted excitedly trying to hold back tears. "But, his heart, it stopped!" The nurse said confused. "No, the plugs fell out again." Bon-bon said in a dry annoyed tone. I looked to my side I saw what I assumed to be a plug leading to a blood bag. On the bed out of my foreleg was a cord, and after a quick follow I saw it led to the heart monitor. "What happened?" I asked obviously tired and kinda hunger tucked into the tone of my voice. "You fell unconscious while scavenging." Bon-bon said in a matter-of-fact voice. "Oh wow, I couldn't tell from myself being in a hospital bed." That was sarcasm at its finest there. "Ow!" I yelped from feeling something poke into my foreleg. When I turned all I saw was the nurse putting the cord back into a new spot on my foreleg. "Are ya thirsty?" Noah asked. "How long was I unconscious?" I asked because I had no idea. "About a few days." The nurse said proudly. "My best time yet." I began to worry when she said that but hunger consumed my fears soon enough. "Okay, then lets get some food." I got up off the bed and the second I put weight on the hoof with the cut the cut on it, which I forgot about, hit the floor and collapsed with a yelp in the process smacked my muzzle as I hit the floor. "Sam!" Noah cried before rushing to my side and giving me a hoof up. "Are ya okay?" He asked with obvious fear for my well being. "Yeah, I think so. Hey what's that smell?" I asked weakly. "I don't smell anything." He said flatly while sniffing the air. But when he turned back to me he some what yelled with fear in his voice. "But your nose is bleeding!" I looked down and saw red drops hitting the floor, why did that make me hungry? "It's nothing, besides I survived worse." I said nodding towards my foreleg. "Do ya want me to bring you something?" Noah asked tying his best impression of a butler he could muster. "Nah, I'm fine." I answered him still wondering why the sight of blood made me hungry. "Bon-bon, I think you should take a look at this." The nurse called looking at what I assumed to be my latest recorded vitals. "What is it? ... Oh my." I saw the sudden change in the look of her eyes go from relief, to fear, worry, and anger. "Noah, which needle did you use when you called on the radio after this incident?" I heard him mumble something, but I couldn't figure out what he said exactly. "Which one did you use?" Bon-bon asked aggressively. "A red one." Noah piped up shyly and fearfully. "WHAT!?" I found myself yelling before I could even comprehend what he had just said. My sudden outburst was followed by a long silence. "Uh, sorry." I avoided eye contact, embarrassed and confused by what just happened. "You had a neck and two limb bites. Meaning four vaccine syringes. But, I didn't do that because you were already unconscious and I thought that four might kill you." Noah explained. I could tell he regretted doing this. "Sam. Do you crave anything like blood?" Bon-bon asked failing to hide her rage at Noah. "No." I answered lying. "Are you sure?" Noah asked anticipating another outburst from me. But ya know what? He was right. "I said no didn't I?!" I paused when they all seemed to back away from me. "Sorry" I apologized avoiding their concerned gazes. "How about you get more sleep?" Bon-bon suggested in a concerned tone that made me sick ... or maybe that was the new vampony part of me. "Yeah that sounds good." I answered now realizing how tired I was. I layed back down on the pillow and shut my eyes hoping tomorrow would be better. But then again my life never goes the way I want it to. ***** The Next Day ***** I opened my eyes to a disturbing sight. I was in the same room I woke up in before but after I looked a little bit, in the corner and saw a pool of blood and a torn bag. After a quick examination I found the bag was a blood bag, like the one that was hooked into my forehoof yesterday. Most likely the one that was hooked into my left forehoof. My forehoof! I looked at the one that had the cut on it, expecting the giant cut to still be there. But there was nothing there, not even a scratch. I'm gonna say it was most likely from the fast healing vamponies had, which I have now because I'm now a vampony. When I trotted over to the mirror that I spotted in the corner I was met with a terrible sight. My muzzle was coverd in dry blood, my chest also. I saw a needle sticking out of my back, after pulling it out with my magic and reading the label, I found it was a tranquilizer needle. This confused me because I didn't know why somepony would tranquilize me. I trotted over to the door and tried to open it, but it was locked. I banged on it some, hoping somepony on the other side would come to see if I was okay. I heard some hoof steps come close to it and the small click of it being unlocked. I backed up from it expecting a friendly face, but instead there was the barrel of a shotgun pointed at my head. "Sam?" The pony I recognized as Noah asked cautiously. "Hi Noah, What exactly happened?" His ears perked up at the sound of my voice and he lowered the barrel away from my head. "Oh thank Celestia it's actually you." He tried to hug me but I dodged it by simply backing up, hugs just seemed wrong to me now. "I'm happy to see you too, but what happened?" I asked him again sternly. "You don't remember? Before you can say 'why else would I ask' sarcasticly I'll tell you. Basically you kinda went all feral on us after you went to sleep. You got up and had this weird tone to your voice, like you were craving something. Also your eyes turned blood red and you had fangs" he explained, but then tensed up after like he expected me to yell at him. "But my eyes are blue. Only vamponies have blood red eyes . . ." I stopped myself relizing what happened. "I think the vampony in me took over because I don't remember any of that." "Makes sense. Anyway you tried to attack us, but you got really distracted when you noticed the blood bag you knocked into the corner during one attempt at pouncing onto Bon-bon. We took that opportunity to tranquilize you, but it didn't work immediately giving you enough time to stumble towards us a little and pass out in the middle of the room,it looked like you were drunk. I guess you can piece everything else together." "Yeah." I looked at him and noticed he was reaching for something behind him. "What are you reaching for?" I asked him curiously. "Uh, nothing." He answered nervously. "I'm not blind, I can clearly see you reaching for something." I sternly said to him. He panicked and grabbed what he was reaching for, which turned out to be a tranquilizer gun syringe. He then proceeded to inject it into my neck. I could have stopped him, but didn't out of surprise. I started to feel sleepy. "What was that!?" I wearily yelled and questioned him. "Me helping you" he answered coldly. And that's when I saw the coldness yet at the same time could feel the warmth that came off Noah's face. It was kinda soothing in a way, his dark and grim expression along with that cold answer. But then something terrible happened, a flash of light revealed that 'Noah' was a vampony disguised as him. It was a white mare with a electric light blue and blue mane; and a music note for a cutie mark, I didn't know which one it is because I never really liked classical music. If she didn't just tranquilize me I would think she looked good, except for the blood red eyes and fangs. I blacked out looking at her devious smile. "Sam?" A voice asked, with a barely noticeable hiss on the s in my name. My eyes fluttered open revealing me strapped to a chair. After a quick gaze around the room I figured out that the same mare was in front of me. "Who are you!?" I shouted in rage, thrashing in my restraints. "I'm a friend." I froze. She sounded sincere. It would be soothing if she didn't abduct me by knocking me out. "Yeah right, what 'friend' would fillynap somepony?" I asked noticing her fangs were gone and her eyes were now magenta. "I'm helping you." She said trying to convince me. "How can I trust a vampony?" I asked trying to hide the tiny bit of fear I had. "Let me explain why your here. Noah didn't use a red syringe. He used four vaccines." She began explaining. "After you blacked out he contacted me for help and when I got there he told me to bite you. I was the one who made you a vampony. You would have died. No in fact you would be dead if I didn't, no matter what anypony did." she finished waiting for my response before continuing. "Wait. You bit me?" I asked her stunned by this. "Yes, Noah and I agreed it was for the best. It meant you would survive with your mind in tact. If he used a red one, the second you came too in that hospital bed you would have killed him and Bon-bon." She continued. "Vamponies were around before this apocalypse. Except we aren't mindless monsters that only kill. We blended in with pony society. We can eventually control and choose when we show our vampony side." She finished again waiting for my response. "How does Noah know you? Also who are you?" I asked starting to feel a bit angry at Noah from keeping all this from me. "We met and became friends a month or so before this stuff happened, became good friends. He already knew about me being a real vampony and learned to accept it. The last time he talked to me before asking me to help save your life was a month ago. Sorry got a bit side tracked, my name is Vinyl Scratch." She explained. "Okay. But why did you fillynap me to tell me this?" I asked Vinyl. "So we could talk in private, duh? Ponies aren't all that friendly to us nowadays. And before you asked why you're your strapped down. It's in case your vampony side comes out. Since you can't control it yet." She told me frankly. "Seems reasonable. Can you unstrap me now?" I asked hinting at how it was annoying me. "Oh, right." She trotted over and unstrapped me. "Where are we?" I asked her stretching my legs. "An old warehouse. Perfect place to hide." She smiled at me proudly. "How do I get home?" I questioned her. "You'll go home eventually, I want to start training you." She told me as she began to trot out of the room. "Fine." I said as I unwillingly began to follow her. For an old warehouse this place was in amazing condition. I noticed the floor was even polished while following Vinyl. "Octavia!" Vinyl suddenly yelled catching me off guard. Within a few seconds a rather well dressed and beautiful mare came from somewhere in the building. She had a goldish gray coat, and the best mulberry eyes. "Yes, what is it Vinyl?" Octavia asked before seeing me. I noticed she had a Canterlot accent. "Oh, good he is awake." She said once she noticed me. "Yup, can ya go get you-know-what? I wanna start his training as soon as possible." Vinyl half ordered and half asked Octavia. "Of course." Octavia said nodding elegantly. "What is she getting?" I asked Vinyl going through possibilities in my head. "Something special. Anyway, we need to train you to control when you show your vampony side. Stop you from attacking innocent ponies, so they don't well. You know shoot you and then you die," she explained. "Wow, do you have to be so harsh about it." I said sarcasticly. "Harsh is one of the few things vamponies actually do, kid" she said back. "I know, I was being sarcastic." I grumbled back. "Here is the thing you wanted Vinyl." Octavia said out of nowhere. I jumped a bit when I heard her voice directly behind me. "When did you come from?" I asked hiding how much she scared. "Thanks Tavi. You better go for this next part." She told Octavia. "Okay, but please don't be too hard on him" she responded before gracefully trotting out of the room. "I'll try" Vinyl said with a small grin turning her attention to me. "Now the number one thing vamponies have to do is control their feral urge to feed off of ponies." She started, "So, try to resist the urge to drink this blood." She finished as she used her magic, a bright neon blue, to throw off the small towel used to cover a cup of blood. "No problem." I said proudly. "Don't be cocky. You should never get cocky and reckless. It will most likely expose you or get you killed" she harshly stated. "I-I'm not even h-hungry." I lied using every bit of my strength to not rush over and drink that cup . . . of . . . blood. I then proceeded to black out while Vinyl yelled 'Sam no!'. CanceledTo anyone who enjoyed reading my book, I am sad to say that i am cancelling "Surviving The Apocalypse" because i have lost intrest in writing it. I can't think of any ideas for more chapters and have no intrest in writing it anymore because of this. Again I am sorry for anyone who enjoyed reading this.
Introduction(I might jump in sometimes to explain and try to ignore my spelling mistake noones perfect) In the magical land of Equestria there was a terible apocalypse were most of the population of ponies was either killed or turned into monsters.
Healing Wounds Healing Wounds (Turns out along with the U vampire mutation.
