//-------------------------------------------------------// Shattered -by Rollo_Linwood- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// After //-------------------------------------------------------// After Scootaloo opened her eyes. She was covered in sweat. She was crying. She looked around nervously. Her other two friends were wide awake as well. They were all looking at the wall. Staring at it. "Hey'a Scoots," Applebloom said monotoned. Scootaloo kept weeping. By the time she reduced the downpour of tears to a steady sniff. Her friends had started to whimper. "I just can't believe it." She said, her voice breaking. "How could this happen to me?" Scootaloo put her face in her hooves. Applebloom shook her head. Sweetie Belle whimpered like a sick dog. "Why? Did this happen?" Scootaloo asked no one in particular. "It's. So. Uggghh!!" She yelled and hit something—she did not know what—off the desk. It hit the wall, and smashed. Apple Bloom stared, unflinching. Sweetie Belle whimpered. The three could hear talking outside. The talking mostly was words in between tears. And lots of ponies saying 'Why, Celestia... Why?' By the sound of it, the three talking were Applejack, Fluttershy, and Twilight Sparkle. Scootaloo tried to make out what they were saying. "Rarity will be....In Canterlot....the girls....You'd better....right." Scootaloo breathed in. She tried to stop crying. In a few seconds, the door opened. Fluttershy walked in. "Hey," she said. She turned the lights on, and she could see Fluttershy's eyes were red and swollen from crying and lack of sleep. Like hers, and well, many others. Fluttershy looked at Scootaloo. "Sorry about everything that's happened." Fluttershy said, her voice raised higher into a squeak. Scootaloo looked at what she had thrown into the wall and broke. It was a picture frame lying face down. There were glass shards around it. Scootaloo looked up at Fluttershy. "Why did this happen?" Scootaloo asked. Fluttershy tried to answer, but she cried instead of talking. She tried again, and cried again. Thrice she faulted, and eventually she just gave up and left the club house the Cutie Mark Crusaders were in. After a few minutes of silence, Applejack came in, and sat down next to the three girls. "Girls, I'd reckon y'all a bit shaken up after what happened," She looked at Scootaloo. "But I can assure you..." She stopped talking. She had no idea what she could assure. She started over. "I..." She faulted again. Unsure of what to say, she took a deep breath, and spoke from her heart. "I'm sure y'all wondering about the details, and frankly, we all are. But... Even if times seem like they're at their worst, and they are, or even if you don't see a point in carrin' on, just take my word for it, things could be a lot worse. Her eyes were on Scootaloo, the entire speech, until the end when she looked at Apple Bloom. Apple Bloom was barely a baby when her parents died, and hardly felt any emotional pain. However Applebloom knew that her sister, and even Big Mac still to this day cry at night sometimes. Apple Bloom looked at Scootaloo, she walked over to her orange coated friend, and wrapped. Her hooves around her. Scootaloo hugged back. "But," Sweetie Belle asked, still sounding like a sick dog, "Who will replace her?" Applejack gave a sad smile. "Honey, no one can replace her." Applejack nuzzled all three of their heads and slowly walked out of the clubhouse. "Try not to think about it and get some sleep." Scootaloo looked at the broken picture. shattered Scootaloo thought. Just like me. she picked up the picture and looked at it. It was of her and Rainbow Dash, at the Sisterhooves Social, holding a blue ribbon. She put all the broken shards on the table, where the picture was, and threw the picture out the window, and into the darkness. She then turned off the light. All three Cutie Mark Crusaders cried themselves to sleep. Author's Note Well. I hope you enjoyed my horrible attempt at a first FanFic, it's very rushed and poorly... Bad. I tried to go for some symbolism, but to be honest, I'd had this account for months, and had not written one FanFic that was approved, or I cared enough about to make better after it was disapproved. Tell me how to improve my writing in the comments, and I'll be-a workin' on a RainbowPie (my Fic of choice) Fic for the future //-------------------------------------------------------// Dreams //-------------------------------------------------------// Dreams "Why did you have to leave so soon Rainbow?" Scootaloo asked herself. She was dreaming. "Fate Scoots," the dream-Dash replied. Scootaloo rolled her eyes. "Yea right," she said. "It was 'fate' that you were killed. Give me a break Dash!" Scootaloo kicked her hoof and said, "it's just not fair." Rainbow laughed and walked over to Scootaloo. They sat down together. Rainbow put her wings around Scootaloo. "I hate to break it to ya kid, but nothing's fair." Scootaloo turned her head. "Yea, but people say that about bad grades, or loosing a bit. Not about death. Your dead Rainbow! Your the only family I had, and your dead!" Scootaloo started getting angry at the dream. "I wish you'd never died!" Scootaloo yelled, like she would have yelled 'I wish you were never born' at somepony. "Besides," the orange Crusader continued, "There is no element of loyalty now, Discord could take over, or... or... A monster from the Everfree forest!" Rainbow shrugged. "The elements are with the Tree of Harmony now. They don't belong to us now. And besides, I think Discord is 100% reformed now, or at least close" Rainbow smiled at her filly-friend, she smiled back. "Rainbow, is this a dream?" Rainbow Dash smiled again, "Ya' see Luna here?" Scootaloo looked around. They were at the school yard, by the fence. "Rainbow," Scootaloo asked, feeling like she would wake up soon. "Hm?" Rainbow responded. "Will I ever see you again?" Rainbow looked at Scootaloo. "Sure thing squirt, just shut your eyes tight and think of me. I'll come if you need me." Scootaloo hugged Dash one last time, before she woke up. Author's Note Find the comic relief? WoodenToaster FTW //-------------------------------------------------------// Ghost //-------------------------------------------------------// Ghost She was alone. She looked around for her friends. No one was there. She turned on the lights. The blood went away. Her friends were still gone. She looked out the window. What she saw, filled her heart with joy. She looked out the window to see Applejack, her two friends, and... Rainbow Dash, alive and well. Scootaloo ran out of the tree house and ran at Rainbow. She ran right through her. She was still there. "Scootaloo? Y'all right? How'd you sleep?" Applejack asked. Scootaloo ignored her and kept jumping at Rainbow Dash. Kept jumping through her too. "Great prank Rainbow," she said, at sudden realization. "Ya' got me good. How'd ya' do it? Mirrors?" Applejack, Sweetie Belle and Applebloom exchanged looks. "Sugarcube?" Applejack asked worriedly. "Don't you see her? Great prank, eh?" "Scootaloo. There is no Rainbow Dash there." Sweetie Belle admitted. "Well duh," Scootaloo said waving her hoof through the Rainbow Dash. "But how did she do it?" "Scootaloo, Rainbow's..... Dead." Applejack said. Scootaloo looked puzzled. "But... She's right there!" The Rainbow Dash hallucination winked at Scootaloo and disappeared. Applejack face-hoofed. "Great." She said. "Now y'all got traumatization too." She spat and rubbed her tired eyes. "Come on, let's go to the doctors."
