Warhammer Equestria

Equestria was now in a full fledged war.

Across the land battles were being fought and won against the caribou invaders with all rebel forces now bearing the symbol of The Iron Wolves as well as the royal flag of Canterlot, The story of Valiants victory at the battle of green hills inspired the people of Equestria to take up arms against their oppressors.

Celestia had been receiving news of victory from all across Equestria from Manehattan to Las Pegasus and knew it wouldn't be long before Dain's followers were driven out but what troubled the princesses was that their leader was nowhere to be seen. While the rest of Canterlot was busy celebrating, the sisters had already begun invasion plans for the north; They were going to bring the fight to Dain once Valiant and his men dealt with the Griffonstone invasion.

But despite their countless victories, the sisters knew they could not mount a full frontal assault on the northlands even with the assistance of the royal guard.

A royal summit was called to discuss the war effort.

Royal Summit

The monarchs of Saddle Arabia, Maretonia and The Crystal Empire were seated at a round table showing a map of Equestria and the current areas under caribou control. Celestia and Luna began the debriefing once the council members were assembled.

"Welcome friends. Now I'm sure you can guess why we're all here? The threat of the Stone Hoof tribe must be answered!"

"You have all seen what these barbarians are capable of."

"But what do they want exactly?" The ambassador from Saddle Arabia asked the princesses who seemed a bit disgusted as they gave the answer.

"It's simple really. The enslavement of all females in Equestria."

"The caribou apparently find that females being free to do as they please is offensive and unnatural." Luna added to the facts as the discussion continued when the duke of Maretonia offered a suggestion.

"Why not send emissaries to negotiate your majesties? Surely these barbarians can be brought to reason."

"They actually tried that with us during the battle of green hills, I'm sure you are all aware of that. However their terms were...less than satisfactory so I'm afraid to say that peace is not possible with this race."

The council members began to talk among themselves when the ambassador from Saddle Arabia raised a question to the sisters.

"Princess Celestia. What is this army that faces these barbarians; The Iron Wolves? and furthermore who leads them?"

"I'm glad you asked that. The Iron Wolves are a private army from one of our barons in the Crystal Mountains and their leader is a unicorn named Valiant Charge, he's a well decorated officer from what I saw and he has been recently appointed lordship of the lands of his father-in-law."

This news took the council by surprise as the discussion continued.

"If he is a noble then why is he not here?"

"He's with my sister at Griffonstone." Shining Armor answered while looking rather worried as he continued.

"The caribou have allied themselves with the minotaurs. They have laid siege there."

"That run downed city? whatever for?"

"For its' position." Shining armor explained the situation as he pointed out locations on the map.

"Griffonstone is basically a natural fortress. The surrounding areas are mostly deep ravines, jagged passages and of course one narrow gorge. Now the basic maneuver would be to send in troops via airship but the problem is: because of the high terrain, the mountain is constantly surrounded by strong gusts of wind which would cause turbulence and therefore make it difficult. When it was in its prime, Griffonstone withstood one such invasion during the reign of King Grover; A thousand years ago."

Shining Armor was able to give the council a rough idea as to why the city would make a perfect stronghold, thanks to his training.

"We also found something else." Luna said as she had one of her guards bring fourth a medallion of what looked like an eight pointed star which didn't seem significant until she began to explain.

"This star represents the powers of chaos, Only those who have practiced these forbidden arts are given such medallions as a reward for their faith.

"Their faith?" an official from Las Pegasus grew curious when he noticed a familiar figure come out of the shadows.

"Allow me to explain." Discord had appeared before the council, their guards seemed less than pleased to see him as they readied their weapons when Shining Armor ordered them to stand down.

"Discord is here at my request." Celestia addressed the council with a stern look that seemed to suppress any and all objections to his being at the council.

"Thank you Celestia. Now to the matter at hand. As the princess said, these medallions are gifts to high priests who practice the art of chaos magic; the kind of magic I have mastered. However there are other beings more powerful than I and some have actually appeared once or twice in Equestria during the ancient times." Discord began to show fear as he stared at the medallion when Celestia held his hand and gave a friendly nod before he continued.

"These other beings have been proclaimed the "Gods" of chaos and have obtained many followers over the centuries and from what I've seen these caribou follow Slaanesh; the god of....desire. Which explains why the caribou perform such vile acts on their female prisoners."

"What do you mean?" Luna inquired as he explained further.

"I mean that those mares were offerings to him or to be precise their virginity. The more the caribou fill their lustful desires the more power Slaanesh will obtain. Power that will soon make him strong enough to enter into our world."

"Then Dain is but a puppet in a greater scheme." Luna stated as her sister rose to address the council.

"Those who wish to join us may stand. Those who do not may remain seated and you will not be judged." At first their was nothing until Shining Armor and Cadence rose from their seats, followed by the representatives from Las Pegasus, Fillydelphia until the whole council room stood before Celestia, each eager to do their part in the war.

"Then I welcome you to 'The Grand Alliance'."

Griffonstone

Back at Griffonstone, Valiant and his troops had begun repelling another attack from Ironhide and his army. The city was now a smoking ruin from the constant bombardment of the enemy artillery but thankfully much of the cities population had been evacuated making it easier for the troops to coordinate their defenses.

BOOM!!!

"TAKE COVER!!" A griffon captain shouted as the city was continuously bombarded by trebuchets perched on the nearby cliffs while the enemy continued to storm the city gates.

"BROTHERS AND SISTERS!! STRIKE FROM THE SKY!!" An officer shouted as an air squadron of griffons and pegasai lead by Gilda and Rainbow Dash swooped down from the clouds, casting the enemy to the rocky ground below and turning their siege weapons against them while their main forces took the full brunt of the assault.

The Iron Wolves maintained a defensive line that held back the enemy while the griffons picked them off with their musket rifles with Twilight now helping to lead the defense.

"Get the wounded off the walls!! Make sure every soldier has a musket!!" Twilight ordered before shielding some of the troops with her magic, the princess repaid the attack with a massive energy blast that destroyed a large number of enemy troops which allowed her forces to advance further onto the battlefield.

"KEEP OUT OF RANGE!!" Valiant was with his men below as they began to push the enemy towards the siege bombardment and before long the minotaurs were in full retreat.

"Order the men to regroup, get as much rest as they can." Valiant ordered a fellow officer as he dismounted Fenrir.

"But sir we've won. They're retreating."

"You haven't fought these brutes as long as I have captain. Minotaurs only retreat to regroup; They're massing for another attack."
