In June, after the second year of the war, the Army of Northern Maretonia, General Campion commanding, successfully accomplished the largest amphibious assault in Maretonian history to complete the invasion of Equestria. It is an army of 75,000 strong. They move quickly, taking several key cities and railroad junctions behind the Unicorn range, using the mountains to hide their positions. Later that month the Army of Equestria 90,000 strong, Shining Armor in command, began the counter offensive, driving westward across the Badlands and into Ponyville. General Campion knows his government has prepared a letter, a letter which offers peace. It is to be sent to Princess Celestia and Princess Luna, the Diarchs of Equestria, the day after General Campion has destroyed the Army of Equestria, somewhere south of Canterlot.
