Yukkiko can't remember a single day from the past to weeks. She wakes up in a hay bed after being hid on the head by something heavy, and can't remember who anybody is. The very thin bonds that were formed between everyone she had met over the previous two weeks are broken. Yukkiko refuses to open up to anyone this time around. She won't even say as much as a seven-word sentence. She has to open up to adjust to her new life, but can she manage doing that?

Waking Up

It was a bright, sunny morning. A twelve-year-old girl with glossy black hair was sleeping soundly in a bed of hay. She had been unconscious for about two days.

The girl's eyes opened a little and she yawned. This caught the attention of the mare who was taking care of her.

"I see you're awake now," she said. "You know my friends, but I don't think you've ever met me."

The girl grabs her glasses and puts them on. "Wh-who are you?" she asks.

"I'm Fluttershy. I've been watching over you since you were knocked out two days ago."

"Where am I...?"

"Ponyville, remember? You accidently came here about two weeks ago."

The girl shook her head. She didn't remember anything about coming here.

"Maybe you got hit in the head harder than I thought," Fluttershy murmured. "Do you mind answering a few questions."

The girl shook her head.

"What's your name?"

"Yukkiko." When asked her name, she had always replied with the name Yuki, but she figured that she should give her entire first name that time.

"How old are you?"

"Twelve in human years."

"Where do you come from?"

"Tokyo, Japan. Can I be left alone now?"

"Oh, um..." Fluttershy paused for a moment. "Fine, but I'll be back later, okay?"

Yukkiko nodded. She was going to have to get used to living here. It definitely wasn't going to be easy, but she couldn't live here without losing her sanity if she didn't.
