Chronicles of the Celestial Pheonix - Dark Waters

Past the far glaciers of Yak Yakistan and the tall plains of Canter Creek, the burned lands of Froud Valley and the floating isles on top of the Appaloosa Mountains lied a black, ominous fortress, the walls were made of dense, spiked metal and the ground was laid with grey rocks. A silent lightning storm coursed through every crystal, becoming the only source of light because only black rain and hail clouds stood above, only inhabited by Tantibuses and Windigos.

“Your majesty! King Sombra!” A Pegasus in royal blue metal armour galloped into King Sombras’ main fortress building, where the dark throne sat on the top of a large staircase. A black mist appeared revealing a large pony with blood red eyes and skin as black as his heart.

A large cracked statue of a sinister looking dragon leaned over the throne. A light blue earth pony with glasses and a white mane separated into three ponytails stood quietly next to the throne.

“What has made you summon me Flash? I had plans.” Sombra replied as his glowing green eyes striked fear straight to his 'guards' very being.

“Maybe we should get a new guard” The earth pony quickly stated bitterly as Flash glared at her.

King Sombra chuckled “Now now Sugar Coat, you may be a good judge of character but every new guard deserves just one chance now don’t they my child?” Sugar Coat grinned maliciously and nodded “I suppose so Dad.”

“Sour Sweet and Starlight have come back with news on the Celestial Phoenix” Flash explained as he bowed to his king.

“Well where are they then!?” Sombra snapped back.

Flashes eyes widened “O-oh I’ll call for them right away”

"Ugh, maybe you were right Sugar Coat" Sombra muttered as Flash cantered back to the main doors and opened them, tripping once.

Two other ponies trotted in and bowed in unison. Both were draped in cloaks but had their hoods pushed back so their faces were revealed.

“Master; we have come back with the news that you have asked for.”

“So tell me, how is the Phoenix?” Sombra replied.

“The Celestial Phoenix has been born, but I fear that the Gaurdians think they have an entitlement to her. They are celebrating like fools claiming that they are joyful ‘for their saviour has been born’!” Starlight snarled out.

Sombra barked out a laugh “Do not fret dear Starlight, she is just a little filly, we will have our phoenix. The Gaurdians and all of equestria will fall at our hooves thanks to the power we will gain from her.” Sombra bragged.

Starlight and Sour Sweet grinned, “Are you able to see here through the portal now Sombra?” Sour spoke up.

“Yes, I will monitor her for a while and watch her development, we will strike when the time is just right.” Sombra assured.

“Sombra, why do we waste our time with this phoenix if there are others like her? She will be nothing more than a mere mare who has the power to shapeshift” Flash asked curiously.

“No Flash, there are no others like her, the prophesy foretells that she will have the strength of every earth pony in this world combined, she will have the speed that will conquer the wonderbolts and make them seem like mere children at play, her magic will know no bounds, she will be the one to create and destroy worlds, she will have the ability to stop and slow down time, enter dreams and manipulate people’s memories. She will be able to perform magic of both Dark and Light elements. With her; we will be unstoppable.” Sombra started to laugh

sadistically.

"You are all dismissed!" Sombra shouted suddenly.

Starlight and Flash bowed and left, leaving Sour Sweet behind.

"Your majesty, may I speak with Sugar Coat?" Sour sweet asked almost timidly.

"Yes, allow me a few moments with my daughter and she will be out as well" Sombra replied as he stood from his throne. Sour Sweet bowed and walked out.

"Father, what do you have planned?" Sugar Coat asked curiously.

"When the Dark Master returns we will be obliged to lead a war Sugar Coat, I want you to begin training as soon as you can. My daughter will not fall." Sombra instructed darkly.

"Of course, I am already the best in my field of magic Dad, can I go now?"

"You may" Sombra grinned as she walked out and gently shut the door. "Oh Sugar Coat, you have a great destiny." Sombra chuckles as he walked down the abysmal hallway around the back of the throne.

On the other side of Equestria, in Canterlots' Dragon Temple.

Five large different creatures gathered around a portal in an old, battered dragon temple that looked as if it had been standing for many moons.

“Luna, after this interesting turn of events the dark master will surely not stand a chance. I believe The Celestial Phoenix is alive and well, so his........inadequate, attempts to dominate our world will prove infertile, won't they?". The draconequus grinned as he sat on an invisible chair drinking a glass and throwing away the chocolate milk.

“No Discord, now is not the time to be relaxed. We should be watching Sombra! With the Phoenix born he will surely be on he's way?” The anthro with wolf ears and a wolf tail and short icy blue hair who looked to be in her late twenties warned as she looked frustratingly at Discord who just pulled a face of fake hurt back at her "Oh poo, you're no fun!" Discord exclaimed as his shadow crept behind Aqua and stared to pull stupid faces further displeasing the anthro "why the angry eyes wolfie?" Aqua growled at discord's last remark.

“Enough Discord, I agree with Aqua, we do not want a repeat of the last decade. What is your word on it Avigustan?” A gruff voice replied, belonging to a tall, heavy looking deep grass green dragon who had a boulder the size of his head on the tip of his swaying tail as he stood with the power of the great bear.

“I believe that we should focus on the Celestial Phoenix, after all SHE is the reason we are all gathered here isn't she? Didn't the book state that she would be trained by us? And how do we plan on training her when the time comes?.” replied a voice belonging to a short griffon with bushy feathers, large wings and a posture of a regal tiger.

“Will you all be silent for one moment?!” One solitary voice stood above all others, the owner of the voice was a medium sized dark blue alicorn, with a voice full of intelligence - and currently annoyance. She stood proud and tall and spoke with the wise voice and clearly most of the authority.

“Sorry Luna, please continue.” The green dragon replied to Lunas' outburst.

“Thank you Terrador," the Alicorn nodded to the dark green dragon.

“Although we must be prepared for the oncoming trouble that Sombra will bring, today is supposed a day of celebration! The great Celestial Pheonix has just been 'born', this only happens once every 10,000 years, we are within luck to have her here now. But as the Guardians we have one duty to deal with now and that is to decide her name.”

Luna placed her horn onto the portal and it glowed then revealed an eagle eye view of the Canterlot celebration, in one of the houses a small orange filly with a red and yellow mane laid in a cot, snoring like a baby bear.   “We must all agree on the name, the book foretold that we would.” Luna muttered to the rest of the Gaurdians.

"Do we know the parents?" Avigustan asked.

"No, it was just like the book said, she showed up at the temple doors on what would have been the thirteenth hour in Twilight Town, no traces of any family members were found" Luna stated to the others.

"She looks like a fiery one doesn't she?" Discord smiled, "I like her already. What do you all propose the name should be?"

"She has the colours of the sunset in her mane...Sunset perhaps?." Terrador stated.

"That does suit her, but it's not quite right, Sunset Shimmer maybe?" Aqua said as she looked closer at the sleeping filly.

"Sounds good to me, matches her well" Luna and the other Guardians nodded in agreement.

"Well now that we have a name I suggest that for the rest of the day we go to our hometowns and celebrate, this may be our last opportunity to before Sombra makes his move." Luna suggested to everyone.

"Yes I believe I have a super duper pony party in no other place than Ponyville, the stars tonight should be sublime" Discord struted outside then propped up an umbrella and floated away.

Aqua just rolled her eyes, "When will we meet again dear Luna?" She asked as the other Guardians left one by one.

"When the time is right, I will send for you all." The Alicorn assured Aqua.

"Alright, enjoy the Canterlot celebration." Aqua bid Luna a goodbye and left.
