The day was nice out, the sun was shining, and the wind was blowing a nice breeze across the town. People drove down the roads passing by people who walked to and from school, the store or just out for a nice walk. Today was a nice day, the reason was it was getting close to the holidays and everyone was getting ready. Sunset Shimmer, one of the citizens of the town walked down the street, listening to some tunes as people got ready for the holidays, what holiday it was she wasn't sure.
She was, however planning on spending time with her new friends, the group having made plans to spend as much time as possible at the party that was happening at CHS. With a smile she took her earbuds out, looking over at a large building that had been constructed a few months ago after the Battle of the Bands. It was a large white building, with a sign overhead that had two large almost imposing words.
Umbrella Corporation.
She didn't know much about the company, other than that it was a pharmaceutical company. Many of its products were in the stores she had visited, some of them being Adravil, a sort of pain relief drug which worked wonders for people with head aches, and a wonder drug called Aqua Cure. Shimmer had never seen such a medicine before. From what she had seen it do, she would have sworn it was magic, but there was little magic in the world she was in now, and even then it wasn't enough to make any spells or any kinds of medicine.
The company made many things, including food, some of which she had actually tried. It was tasty, considering. Even though the company was still new to the town, it had skyrocketed to popularity among the population, everyone who was everyone knew of the company and what they made. Sunset had even seen Umbrella Employees giving out pamphlets to students at a canned food drive not too long ago. What those were for, she didn't know.
She had other things planned, one of which involved her new friends. Today she was expecting a visit from Twilight Sparkle, who had written her and said she was coming for a visit later in the day. She was happy to hear from Twilight, and hoped this visit would be a normal one, and one that didn't involve any end of the world scenarios and life or death situations.
Just once I want a normal get together. Sunset sighed, thinking back to the Battle of the Bands and how they went. She herself had to sing and help out the others to stop the Sirens from sucking up all of the
