Chapter 1: Routine Break

(I don't have the time to look up how to write Apple Jacks lines in a southern accent you'll have to do it in your head and I do not own Danny Phantom or MLP)

"Beware my boxes of doom," The Box Ghost said as he tried to attack students with boxes.

"Give it a rest Boxy," Danny Phantom said blasting the Box ghost with a ecto-blast before sucking him into the thermos and giving a sigh. "This is the fiftieth time this week, why can't they just take a break?" Danny whispered to himself as his parents RV could be heard coming to see the disturbance. "Oh well I guess I'll have to check later," Danny said as he flew behind his school and changed back into Danny Fenton with blue eyes and black hair.

"Danny where were you?" Tucker asked as Danny turned to face his oldest friend with Sam his Goth friend coming with him.

"You weren't in the gym- again," Sam said irate as Danny mentally flinched before coming up with an excuse.

"I had to use the bathroom," Danny said as Sam and Tucker sighed.

"Danny you need to take your school responsibilities seriously and stop goofing around in class," Sam scolded him again he was tired of being lectured like this.

"I wish I had the courage to tell you the truth but I'm still a freak in the eyes of the world," Danny thought.

"Well since the powers out from that ghost fight for a week it's an early release today," Tucker said as Danny smiled and they walked towards their homes.

"Cool well I'll see you guys later," Danny said as they left for their houses.

"Danny need a ride," Jack asked his son as they were driving back from Danny's school.

"Sure I guess," Danny said hopping into the back of the RV. "So how did your ghost hunt go," Danny asked with fake curiosity.

"Phantom and that Crate Creep got away before we got to them," Jack said sadly.

"We'll get them next time sweetie," Maddie said comforting Jack as they pulled up to their home Fenton Works.

"Hey I left something in the lab so I'm going to go and get it," Danny said heading into the lab before his parents could protest.

"Alright Boxy let's go see if I can find your friends," Danny said transforming into Phantom and going into the Ghost Zone.

"Damn it where is everyone," Danny wondered after searching the Ghost Zone for an hour. "Maybe you know," Danny said opening the thermos and let the Box Ghost out.

"BEWA- Wait I'm not in Amity," The Box Ghost said as Danny coughed. "What do you want?" The Box Ghost asked rudely.

"Why has they're been fifty ghost attacks in one week," Danny asked calmly.

"I don't know I think it's just coincidence that everyone's tried to get their revenge on you but I did hear about a new Ghost Portal a week ago Skulker said he was going to skin those pesky unicorns and take their 'pelts'," The Box Ghost said as they both shivered.

"Unicorns? Well that's interesting, which way is it?" Danny asked curious about the new Ghost Portal.

"I can show you follow me," The Box Ghost said leading Danny to a rainbow colored Ghost Portal.

"Huh aren't the portals normally green," Danny said floating closer to the mystery portal.

"Skulker said when he went in he turned into a pegasus," Box Ghost said as a light from the portal grabbed Danny when got close to the entrance.

"What the he-," Danny was dragged into the portal before he could finish his sentence as the Box Ghost flew away ready to tell every ghost in the zone about this.

Meanwhile Danny woke up to a big surprise.

"Ugh, my head," Danny said trying to stand only to stumble and fall. "Argh, what the hell," Danny cursed as his headache cleared and he saw instead of hands, he had hoofs. "WHAT THE FUCK," Danny yelled freaking out that he was a pony with a black mane and white coat. "Wait my powers do they even work," Danny wondered as he felt for his core and when he found it he pulled it out and familiar white rings flew across his new body transforming him into Phantom but as a pegasus with the DP symbol on his flank but he didn't notice.

"Where was that magic anomaly, Twilight," A voice asked as Danny turned back into a pony.

"Hmm, maybe these people can help me," Danny thought as he quickly got used to using his four legs. "Hello, is anyone out here," Danny asked walking towards the voices before bumping into a unicorn as they both fell down.

"Oh, my bad," the unicorn said standing up.

"No it's fine I wasn't watching where I was going," Danny said doing the same.

"My name is Twilight Sparkle and who are you," Twilight asked him.

"Daniel Fenton, but I prefer the name Danny," Danny said shaking hoofs with Twilight as he noticed a small marking on her flank.

"Hey, Twilight who's this guy?" a rainbow colored pegasus asked.

"Rainbow this is, Danny," Twilight said introducing him to Rainbow.

"Nice to meet you, Danny, I'm Rainbow Dash the faster flier in all of Equestria," Rainbow boasted as Danny smirked at this new information and a way to mess with the brash pegasus.

"I think I know someone who's faster," Danny said talking about himself as Rainbow glared at him.

"No way I can do a Sonic Rainboom and no one can do that," Rainbow said as Danny raised a eyebrow.

"Impressive he might be just as fast as you then," Danny said as Twilight giggled at Rainbow's competitive smile.

"So where is he?" Rainbow asked wanting to race against Danny's friend.

"Don't know he's always appearing and disappearing," Danny said with a shrug.

"Oh, well next time you see him tell him I want a race," Rainbow said as Danny smiled.

"Sure now where are you guy's from?" Danny asked them.

"We came from Ponyville, Twilight said she felt a magical disturbance some where out here in Everfree," Rainbow explained.

"Oh well I haven't seen anything," Danny lied knowing that the Ghost Portal that brought him here was probably the disturbance.

"I guess it was a false alarm let's head back to Ponyville," Twilight said as the three of them left the forest as two Ghosts emerged from the portal a pegasus with mechanical armor and weapons and a green mane and another wearing pony overalls and he was a normal pony with ghostly glow.

"Time to get Phantom's pelt," the ghost said flying off towards Ponyville.

"Whoa this is almost like Amity except smaller and less tech," Danny thought seeing Ponyville for the first time.

"So Danny where do you live," Twilight asked him.

"I'm new in town and I don't have any money," Danny said truthfully.

"Oh, so where are you from," Twilight asked.

"I'm from a small town called Amity Park," Danny said.

"Huh, I've never heard of Amity Park," Twilight said curiously.

"It's not very popular so not a lot of pony's live their," Danny said half lying.

"Oh, maybe you can stay at my place for a few nights," Twilight suggested.

"Really? That'd be great," Danny said smiling as a pink mare popped up in his face.

"Hi I'm Pinkie Pie are you new in town," Pinkie said loudly as Danny winced since his ghost hearing made her sound even louder.

"I'm Danny and yeah I'm new in town," Danny said as Pinkie smiled even wider.

"Yay, oh I should go a get my stuff set up," Pinkie said happily as she hopped away.

"What was that?" Danny asked confused as Twilight and Rainbow giggled.

"That was Pinkie being Pinkie, she's probably getting a party set up for you," Twilight said as Danny sighed.

"Well at least things are interesting," Danny said as Rainbow flew away.

"Let me show you around town," Twilight offered him as they began looking at all the different buildings in town.

"Hey Twilight, what does that mark on your flank mean?" Danny asked as Twilight smiled.

"It's my cutie mark it shows my special talent, I'm really good at magic," Twilight said. "So what does yours mean," Twilight asked as Danny looked at his flank seeing a rocket surrounded by stars and the moon.

"It shows my passion to explore outer space and to stargaze," Danny said with a sad smile. "To bad I can't be an astronaut and a hero," Danny thought as Twilight brought to her house.

"Well here we are this is my home," Twilight said as they came to a giant tree with a door.

"You live in a tree?" Danny asked skeptically.

"It's also a library," Twilight said opening the door it was dark until Danny came in.

"SURPRISE," Five ponies yelled startling Danny.

"Welcome to Ponyville," Pinkie said happily.

"Thanks," Danny said noticing three ponies he hadn't seen before. "Hi I'm Danny," he said introducing himself.

"I'm Apple Jack," the orange pony said.

"I'm Rarity dear it's nice to meet you," a white unicorn with a purple mane that was styled said.

"I'm Fluttershy," whispered the yellow pegasus only barely heard by everyone except Danny.

"Well it's nice-" Danny's ghost sense went off, "-to meet you," Danny said.

"Are you feeling cold?" Apple Jack asked as Danny tensed.

"Darling why are so tense," Rarity asked as the roof exploded revealing Skulker and the Box Ghost while Box Ghost wasn't scary, Skulker was still somewhat scary sending Fluttershy to hide under a table and the others were either curious or scared except Pinkie she was still smiling as Danny snuck away.

"Where is the Ghost Child I want his pelt on my wall," Skulker said.

"I"m going to spread terror with the power of my boxes of DOOM," Box Ghost said waving his hoofs around.

"Sorry Skulker not today," A voice said blasting Skulker from behind.

"The hunt begins," Skulker said shooting rockets at Danny only for him to become intangible and flying through the rockets and blasting Skulker in the head with an ecto-blast sending him flying.

"Uh I think I'll just go home," Box Ghost said quickly fleeing.

"You'll pay for that whelp," Skulker said angrily as he charged at Danny with a retractable knife on his hoof.

"Chill out," Danny said as he shot a ice beam at Skulker's knife making it useless.

"Grr, I'll be back whelp," Skulker said as he retreated back to Everfree to the Ghost Portal.

"Hpmh, I really hate those two," Danny said landing.

"Who the hay are you and what the hay was that?" Apple Jack asked shocked.

"Name's Phantom and that was just me doing my duty," Danny said shrugging.

"Wait you've fought those two before," Twilight asked.

"Yeah and others the only Ghost you might not see is Technus because he relies on technology," Danny said.

"So are all ghosts bad?" Fluttershy asked scared.

"No I'm a ghost and I've made friends with other ghosts," Danny said remembering Frostbite and Clockwork.

"So your dead?" Rainbow asked as Danny gave her an uneasy look.

"Yeah I'm dead," Danny explained to try and minimize their questions.

"So why did that big meanie want your skin?" Pinkie asked.

"He claims to be the greatest hunter in the Ghost Zone but it's time for me to go," Danny said looking at the moon rising.

"Okay then, but will we see you again," The five ponies asked before leaving Twilight's house.

"If the ghosts are going to be causing problems than yes we will meet again," Phantom said before floating invisibly behind the house and changing back into Danny.

"Whoa that was crazy," Danny said walking back into Twilight's house.

"Yes it was to bad it'll take forever to fix my house," Twilight said heading up to her room while Danny slept on the couch as Danny began his new life.
