Applejack was doing her chores, Big Mac was plowing the fields, and Apple Bloom was doing homework. Normal day. Applejack bucked another tree and wiped her forehead. Inside, Granny Smith was talking on the phone. Applejack heard the apples crash into the bucket, awaiting the fallen apples. They heard a phone click.
"Woo-ee!" Granny Smith said, stepping outside. "Apple Fritter just called an' she says we need to get to Appleloosa IMMEDIATELY!"
"Immediately?!" Big Mac and Applejack shouted. "WHY?"
"Apple Fritter says she has a baby!" Granny Smith cracked.
"She has a baby? It doesn't really sound like 'she's having a baby'. Are we just meeting the kid?" Apple Bloom asked, glad she didn't have to watch a 'miracle of life'.
"Ah agree with Apple Bloom. What's happening?" Applejack asked. Granny Smith looked thoughtful... and then brightened.
"Ah don't know!" she exclaimed, with a huge smile. The train halted to a stop. The Apples got off of the train.
"Time to go see the new Apple!" Apple Bloom exclaimed, jumping with joy. Applejack laughed. "Eeyup."
"Now... let's see." Granny Smith said. "She lives on 892 Baked Street."
The Apples excitedly hurried to Fritter's house.
"Ah could here ya a mile away!" Apple Fritter smiled, opening the door.
"Apologies," Applejack said, "We're just so excited to see your baby!"
Apple Fritter opened her mouth to reply, only to be cut off by a snappy, annoying voice that was like a country version of Diamond Tiara's.
"Did you really introduce me as your baby, mom?"
The Apples turned to see a filly around Apple Bloom's age. She had fluffy, curly, luxcious hair like DT's (except less smooth and more curly), a burgundy coat, pink red eyes, brown hooves, and wore red and burgundy bracelets. The only thing that made her look Western was her cowboy hat. Er, cowgirl.
"Rose, don't talk to me in that tone. You are my baby to me." Apple Fritter scolded. The filly rolled her eyes.
"Sorry, mom!" she said, batting her eyelashes. Apple Fritter sighed.
"This is-"
"I can introduce myself, thank you!" said the filly, tone back to it's first, now with a hint of exasperation. "My name is Pacific Rose, and I want to get out of this dump!"
"ROSE!" Fritter shouted. Pacific Rose rolled her eyes, and went into Applejack's casual pose.
"Apples, can I talk to you for a moment?" Fritter asked, turning away from her daughter. And then making a darting glance to her. "Alone?"
"She's not my real daughter! She's from some Apple origins though, but I just can't handle motherhood!" Apple Fritter exclaimed quietly. "Can you please take her? I'll tell her she's going on a trip, she's getting out of this dump, that-"
"Hold your horses!" Applejack shouted. "We can't take care of TWO lil' fillies! We have farmwork too."
"Eeyup." Big Mac said.
"Oh please, oh please, oh please! Just for a little while? A couple months? Weeks? DAYS?" Fritter pleaded.
"Hmm... FAMILY HUDDLE!" Applejack exclaimed. Fritter tried to lean in, but Apple Bloom, being too short to huddle with her family, shielded the huddle. They stopped their titters and whispers and faced Fritter.
"We have agreed to take Pacific Rose... for two weeks. We will think about adopting her from you, but there's still a chance we will say no." Applejack said, firmly.
"Oh thank you SO SO SO much!" Apple Fritter said, bursting into tears. Applejack smiled nervously. An annoying voice entered the air.
"ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT ME, MOTHER?!" Rose asked.
"N-no, darling." she said. "But... we've decided you're going on a trip to Ponyville!" she smiled. Rose maintained her frown.
"It's not Canterlot." she said.
"BUT, there's these two super rich fillies who are just like you! Or seem like it anyways." Apple Bloom grinned, referring to Diamond and Silver. Rose maintained her frown. "I never said no, idiot."
She said the last part under her breath.
"I heard that." repeated the whole Apple family. Pacific glared. "I'm going to go pack my stuff."
That Night
Apple Bloom couldn't believe it. They had no spare room, so she was sharing a room with Rose. Rose had KICKED HER OFF OF HER OWN BED.
"Just for the night." Applejack had said. They were getting a cot the next morning. Which, no doubt, SHE would be in.
"Be nice." Applejack had said. She would if Pacific would stop grunting, rolling her eyes, and saying sarcastic remarks! So now she was on the dark floor on a haybed. It was itchy! And she only had this small white cotton blanket. Pacific had taken all the other ones. So she had FIVE. When Pacific saw the white one Applejack brought out for her sister, and left the room, Pacific had said, "I hope you don't wet yourself. 'coz man, that would make a stain!"
Apple Bloom had blushed and hung her head in shame. So now she was complaining. In the dark. Alone. On itchy hay. At night. While a girl she didn't know slept on her bed. Haha, that wasn't funny.
Apple Bloom eventually drifted off to sleep, dreaming of DT, SS and PR bullying her tomorrow with diapers, wetting the bed, kicking her off a bed, having scratch marks because of the hay, and being scolded by Applejack about being nice.
Apple Bloom woke up sweaty and panting. And an urge to go pee. She galloped to the bathroom to find it closed and someone singing, but not in a shower. Not Applejack. She only sang when she thought no one could hear her. Or to Apple Bloom.
"AH GOTTA GO PEE!" Apple Bloom shouted. The singing stopped.
"Well I hafta finish brushing my hair!" Pacific shouted.
"Brush it in our room!"
"You don't have a mirror!"
"SO?"
"I'm brushing it in here!"
"AH GOTTA GO PEE!" Apple Bloom shouted, doing the pee pee dance.
"UGH! Fine!" Pacific shouted, annoyed. She slammed out the door and stomped off. Apple Bloom went to the bathroom and did her business. She was still doing her business, in fact, when Pacific came back.
"I forgot my hair stuff." she said, outside of the door.
"I'm still going!" Apple Bloom cried. Pacific Rose stood back, just before opening the door. "Well hurry up!"
Hmph. Apple Bloom washed and got out of the bathroom.
"Slowpoke." Pacific glared. Apple Bloom did nothing and went down to have breakfast. She ate silently and went on her way to school, with a hug and kiss from Applejack.
Pacific came in late to school, and slid in to the room.
"Pacific Rose, you're late!" Ms. Cheerilee scolded. "And on your first day too. I am very-"
"Disappointed in me, yeah yeah. Where's my desk?" Pacific interrupted with her snotty little voice. The class gasped, and Silver Spoon and Diamond Tiara laughed, and smirked, interested in this new girl.
Ms. Cheerilee was shocked. "We'll let it slide for today. Your desk is beside Scootaloo. Scootaloo, raise your hand!"
Scootaloo waved her hand around, and pointed to the empty seat beside her.
"I can see, you little Tootaloo." Pacific whispered. Ms. Cheerilee either didn't here, or pretended not to. When Ms. Cheerilee wasn't looking, Diamond Tiara threw a note to Silver Spoon, who scribbled something on it. Then she flew it over to Pacific Rose. Pacific Rose peeked over to them and smirked. She opened it, expertly discreet, and read it.
We may just let such a cool filly like you into the Gem Clique! You obviously hate those blank flanks as much as we do.
DT (Diamond Tiara, the most popular filly at school and the girl everyone wants to be, but fears)
Pfft, you obviously hate the blank flanks as much as we do!
Bump, bump, sugar lump, rump! (You'll learn what it is later)
SS (Silver Spoon, the second most popular filly at school and the girl who envies DT)
Pacific Rose smirked, taking off her hat to smooth her hair, in a minute, it was as smooth as Diamond Tiara's.
