Chapter 1: The Revelation Begins
"How long has it been," I ask myself out loud as I look outwards towards my kingdom from my balcony. "since I first claimed the crystal heart, when I lost it two those two Alicorns to keep my kingdom away from them by sealing it away, thus keeping me away from the heart, to now when I have it back in my hands?" I sighed to myself and slowly made my way back to my throne as those thoughts came back to me. Those three questions that are making me think differently: "Is this the right thing to do? Was what I doing right? Why do I feel so empty even with the heart?" These three questions have been a pain in my ass ever since a few weeks after reclaiming the heart. I always answered those questions every time, but my brain just flat out rejected those answers as if they we're wrong entirely. I quietly groaned as I rubbed my head in pain and walked back over to my throne and sat on it. from these thoughts as they gave me a rather horrible headache everytime they came up as I heard my throne room doors opened up.
"Sorry to bother you my liege, but your daily group of ponies have been gathered for your daily draining." One of my royal guards said. As a group of ten ponies slowly came walking in.
I sighed mentally as I put my hand up making them stop walking. "No." I said making them gasp in shock. "Not today, I'm not feeling well do to any draining, send them back." I said as I made the 'shoo' gesture at them which made them look at me with shock.
"B-But my-" My guard started to say before I interrupted.
"I said, send them back!" I slammed my left fist onto it's respected arm rest. "Less you want me to drain you dry of your own life force for disobeying your king!" I growled at him making him jump in fear.
"Y-Yes my liege!" He squeaked as he lead the ten out of my throne room and I was left alone.
"Why did I just let them leave? " I asked mentally. I always drain life force from them, but I just shooed them out without a second thought. I groaned as I put my head into my palms. "What the hell is wrong with me?! Why am I showing kindness?! What the hell is going on?! " I growled in anger as I felt the crystal heart pulse. I glared a bit as I got off my throne and opened up my secret staircase that led to the pathway to the heart's hiding place. A few minutes passed by as I walked up to the heart and grabbed it. "Are you the reason? Are you doing this to me? " I asked mentally as I looked into the heart only to see my reflection and something that I never end expcted to see. My eyes didn't have their normal shadow aura. "What the fuck?! " I glared at the heart and the aura less reclection glared back. I sighed as I walked back to my throne room with the heart in hand as one of my guards sent me an urgent mental message.
"M-My Liege, eight ponies and a dragon hatchling just ran past my post saying something about reclaiming the crystal heart and one of them is an Alicorn! I'm following them now as this message reaches you! "
"So, Celestia finally got off her fat ass and finally came to stop me, but why only her and not bring her sister with? " I sighed as I closed my secret staircase and sat back on my throne and summoned up my crystal bladed sword and waited. Soon I head magical explosions within my castle and slowly reaching my throne room. As I heard voices, but they we're muffled by the thick walls of my castle and then, my doors slammed open to show the eight ponies and the dragon hatchling. Those eight ponies, seven of which we're female and one one male but they all have different colors, except for four. One blue, one orange, one yellow, one purple, two white, and two pink, one of which was a Alicorn.
"There's a third one? When was there a third Alicon? " I asked myself even though I had no answer.
"We're here to put a stop to your reign of terror Sombra." The pink Alicorn said.
"Oh good. Another rag-tag team to try and stop me," I said sarcastically and got off of my throne as I made my way towards the Alicorn, making her step back in fear. "well you're in luck." I said as I shoved the crystal heart to her chest. "Because, I despise ruling a kingdom where I feel empty in. So you beat me, have fun." I said as I walked towards my balcony and leaving them all with gaping mouths at what I just said and did.
The first one to make speak was the blue one. "Uhhhhhhhhh. What the hell just happened? I was expecting a fight from him."
Then the purple one spoke. "I-I don't know. Princess Celestia said that he wouldn't go down without a fight but. He just gave up."
Then the Alicorn spoke. "L-Let me go talk with him."
Then the male. "Are you kidding me?! I'm not letting my wife get close to that, monster!" So the Alicon and the male are married? Interesting.
I then heard her scoff and walk over to me. "Excuse me, Sombra?" She said as she lightly tapped my shoulder with the heart in one if he arms.
"What do you want?" I asked at I turned to look at her.
"Why did you just give up like that?"
"Because I just feel empty even if I do have the heart and my kingdom," I turned around and looked towards my kingdom. "all because I reclaimed that damned heart."
"Then it had to have been the heart's power. It can change all that comes near it." She said.
"So it was the heart that was doing this to me. Oh well. " I thought as I turned around to look at the eight ponies talking to one another. The married one arguing about if I should be punished or not. The blue and orange one talking to one another, well more or less the blue one gloating that she could take me out in 'ten seconds flat' and the orange one shaking her head at her. The pink earth pony and yellow one talking quietly to one another about something, they were the furthest away from me so I couldn't hear what they we're talking about. The purple and white one talking about the design of the castle. But I didn't notice the hatchling walk over to me.
"Uhhhh. Hi?" He said which got my attention and I crouched down to look at him at eye level. Something that I remembered for a long time ago, never look down at a dragon, you never know if they'll get pissed off at you.
"What can I do for you hatchling? Normally one's at your age would be terrified at me." I said and he just shruged.
"Not when you've been over hyped as some big evil bad guy that wouldn't give up so easily. But you did sooooo." He shrugged again and walked towards the edge of the balcony and looked outwards towards the kingdom.
"Ah I see." I sighed and looked out as well.
"This is a pretty nice sight, Sombra."
"I know. That why I ruled it for so long. This is one of the few best views on Equis."
"Heh. Yeah I can tell. The name's Spike."
"Nice to meet you, Spike. I sure you know my name already."
He nodded and was about to same something until we're pulled out of our conversation by a 'Ahem'. And we both turned to look stare at the purple one and the white male standing in front of us. The white one spoke first.
"King Sombra-" He started to say.
"Please," I held a hand out to stop him."just Sombra will work."
"Right. Sombra, although you are considered an enemy of Equestia, but since you did give us back the heart freely, you would be arrested if you didn't so we do get avoid that, but we will still have to bring you to Princess Celestia to pay for your crimes." He said.
"Alright, fine by me." I casually said, which gotten him to nod at me.
Chapter 2: Sombra's Power Awakens
I sighed as I saw Candance, the Alicorn from before, activate the crystal heart sending a huge wave of energy although out the kingdom as all of the crystal ponies suddenly became full of life again and happily cheering with one another. I could only let out a small chuckle. "So here ends my reign although I don't think I'm going to miss it much along with that damned empty feeling. " I slowly put a hand over my chest where my heart was. "Still empty, even with giving up my title as King, as well as the heart. " I slowly barred my fangs and glared towards the activated crystal heart as I balled my hand into a first of anger, slightly dragging the spiked fingertips of my gauntlets on my chest plate generating a few sparks on it as well as a small scratching sound, like claws on a chalk board getting the attention of the eight ponies that we're in front of me, making them all turn towards me.
"Is everything alright, Sombra?" Candance asked. "You look rather agitated."
"Yes I am." I lied which made the orange one furrow her brows at me. I was still empty inside and I was agaited that this emptiness won't leave me. "It's a rather deep personal problem." I lowered my hand to the side as Cadance started to gather the Crystal ponies who tried their best to avoid me. And I couldn't blame them.
I sighed as I turned around and slowly walked away from the crowd. "They don't need to be in fear of me anymore. Not after the hell I put them through. " From behind I could hear her talking about how I gave up the heart peacefully, making the crystal ponies gasp in shock and looked towards me as I walked away. "They all are still fools. " I continues to walk away as I reached for my crown to take it off and looked at it. "A broken pony doesn't deserve a crown for a king. " I said as a black flame appeared on my both hands as I slowly crushed/melted my crown to let the molten liquid silver pour onto the ground as I walked forward to get one last look at the Crystal Kingdom because I knew I wouldn't be seeing it anytime soon, I chuckled to myself and I soon found my way to the edge oh my kingdom, looking out towards the blizzard fueled tundraI front of me. "I wonder why the area around the kingdom is nothing more than a blizzard fueled tundra. If this is the case then why wasn't the kingd- " My thoughts we're stopped short as I heard a rather loud ear piercing screech as I saw a lone Windego charging towards the kingdom. "Oh that's why. Windegos made the tundra into their own territory. For fuck sakes. " I turned twords the kingdom and remember that I still had my crystal broad sword in it's holster attached to my back. "Prehaps this it what will fill my emptiness, a gruesome battle? " I mentally grinned as I pulled out my crystal broad sword with my left hand and started walking towards the charging Windego as it let out another ear piercing screech as if it was a battle cry.
"Well then if you want to die so badly!" I yelled out as I started charging towards it with a black flame appearing on my whole right arm. "Then I'll give you the bloody end that you so rightfully deserve, maggot!" I laughed maniacally as I jumped towards it with my flame covered arm stretched outward to punch the Windego right in the face.
In which I did, and sent it flying backwards along with sending a small wave of black fire in front of my arm, effectively burning it to quickly send it into a daze which allowed me some time to apply the black fire to my crystal broad sword, I switched to a two handed sword wielding stance, and I let out my own war cry as I charged at it only for me to jump up a few feet into the air and I swong my broad sword downward to strike it, damaging it more as said hit got it out of it's daze. It quickly got up and jumped back away from me and the blizzard around us seemed to get worse as my vision started to become very limited so sight is out of the question I had to rely on hearing to determine where and when the it was attackingI was completely out of my element. I always like seeing my opponents before I struck them down, so this will be a challenge. "Heh. Good, I love challenges. " I thought as I heard it quickly circle around me wanting to disorient me, but I won't let it. I quickly swung outward to slash it as it passed by me, giving it a deep burning cut on the side of it's body causing it to screech in pain as the blizzard started to die down a bit. "I had a feeling something like that would happen if I surprised it. " I thought as my vision slowly started to come back to me and I quickly went on the offensive and started attacking with fast slashes and stabs with my broad sword as it tried to dodge my attacks falling a few times at for moment letting it get a few more cuts along it's body but to my dismay from the corner of my eyes I could see those nine from before rushing to over to the edge of our battlefield.
I quickly turned and put my hand out to stop them. "No! This is my fight and my fight alone! Stay out of this!" I growled as I turned towards the Windego as it blasted me right in the face with a surge of pure frozen energy, effectively freezing my muzzle shut and blasting me backwards a few feet. "Goddamnit. " I mentally groaned as I grabbed my frozen muzzle in pain.
"Sombra no!" Cadance gasped in fear and started to move towards me, only to be stopped by her husband. "Shinning let me go! We have to help him!"
"Not a chance! You heard a him say to stay out of his fight. And there isn't a snowball's chance in hell I'm letting you get anywhere near a freaking Windego!" I heard Shinning say as I got runned downed by the Windego that I was fighting.
"Then you go help him you're the knight here!"
"W-What?! Are you crazy?! I'm not fighting that thing!"
"Shinning Armor, as Princess of the Crystal Kingdom and you're wife, I am ordering you to go help Sombra out this instant!"
"W-What-"
"Or do I need to have you arrested for disobeying a princess?!"
I heard him sigh in defeat. "Yes dear." Which aggravated me.
I went to say something but remembered that my muzzle was frozen shut. "Dammnit. " I aimed a finger at Shining Armor's horn to shoot a spell at it to nullify any magic he may cast for a good hour or two, which knocked him back a bit making them all look at him with shock, fear, and worry, and I summoned up a huge clear crystal barrier around mine and the Windego's battlefield. Trapping me with it and it with me. I hated when ponies don't follow my command, but that won't matter any more since I'm not king any more. I looked back at the Windego which was obliviously confused at the ring of crystals that surrounded us which I used to my advantage and quickly rushed forward at it to start up a huge diagonal swing upwards, which successfully connected, knocking it up into the air with a screech of pain in which I combined said swing with a jumping slash downward slamming it down to the ground with a force that seemed to make the ground shake a bit. It was getting weak very fast which was good, but that seemed to make it pissed off as it started to make the blizzard stronger, which I retaliated by slamming my right arm down into the ground making a few huge pillars of black fire around me, melting the ice off of my muzzle and burning the Windego harshly as it's head and upper half of it's body was badly burned making it screech loudly in pain.
"Not this time maggot!" I yelled as I started to cast my final spell to end this fight.
To the ponies outside would soon see my horn start to glow black and then, all light within the barrier die, making it look like a complete void. This was my element, pure darkness, pure raw black magic energy. My final strikes were about to be dealt. If any war that I personally fought in we're documented, they all would know this was my final attack, and the Windego's fate was sealed. I sucked in a good proportion of the black magic, increasing the power of the black flames on my sword. I quickly rushed the Windego with a body slam that had more power than it should, knocking it down instantly. I quickly jumped high up into the air as the flames on my broadsword increased in length and I quickly slashed downwards slicing it in half by it's midsection, and as soon as I landed, I quickly slashed forward, slicing it in half again, this time directly in the middle. And finally, I slammed my black fire infused arm again into the ground, and with a few seconds three things happened. One: Between zero to three seconds, a huge earthquake occurred, two: between four to six seconds, the ground cracked heavily under me and the already dead Windego, and three: between seven and nine seconds, a huge eruption of black crystal spikes impaled the corpse multiple times and shot upwards, ripping the Windego into chunks. And then, color returned to the battlefield and my crystal barrier shattering, letting the nine see the slaughtered Windego and me collapsing down to the ground from magic over use. And I felt my concision fade as I heard the nine of them, quickly call out my name as they rushed towards me.
And then, nothing.
Something has gone wrong. We don't seem to have an archived copy of that chapter. Chapter 4: The Start of a New Life
So with those six mares helping me get a second chance I was really grateful, although I was a bit weary of learning about friendship. I mean it's good to have allies, but friends? I'm a bit neutral on the topic, but I might not be so open to call someone my 'friend' just yet. But for now I have a different problem as of right now, my stomach was growling and I quickly realized that I haven't any anything to eat in two days. Which got a out giggle from the six mares in front of me.
"Bite me, I haven't had anything to eat in two days." I growled at them all.
"Well I say we should treat our new friend to dinner." Cadance said which got a nodding agreement out of all of other ponies.
"Comon then," The pink one said while she smiled brightly. "Let's eat!" She said as she quickly ran off, as a matter of fact, she ran so fast that she created a dust cloud outline of where she was once standing which left me with a open jaw of amazement.
"Wha- H-How th-" I started to ask before Twilight stopped me.
"It's best not to understand Pinkie Pie. Trust me, I tried," She said as she shuddered. "It was not a fun experience. So we just say it's Pinkie being Pinkie."
"Uh right." I said as I scratched my head a bit.
We soon all started to walk after her to the dining hall while the lot of them we're having a conversation with one another, I kept to the back of the group and I was lazily dragging a hand across the crystal walls of the castle. Call me weird but I found the vibrations in my gloves that came from dragging my hand over the crystal walls to be rather soothing. As we walked I saw a few of the guards salute me as we all walked past them. It was nice to see a few of them still holding respect for me. But they had to know that I'm not their ruler any more and I shook my head at them as they saluted me. Although it saddened me a bit, I had to lose everything, even my most faithful guards. As we reached the dining hall, we all walked and they all took a seat, but they left open my seat, which was a lot more decorated than the other chairs. I gave Cadance a questioning glance, and she nodded for me to take a seat in my chair. "Well if this is my last meal here, might as well be in my own personal chair. " I thought as I walked over to my chair and sat it in as a few maids came walking in to hand them all a menu, but not me but I said nothing, which they all looked at me with a raised brow.
"Uhhhhh. Aren't you going to say that they forgot your menu?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"No need." I shook my head at her. "The chefs know my usual meal." I chuckled.
The all continued to look at me for a few more seconds before they soon went to look at their menus. Within a few minutes a maid came back and asked for their orders, which all of them had a salad, but Spike just asked for a bowl of gems which got a odd look from the maid but Twilight explained that's what dragons ate. "Oh if only he knew my usual, he would be ordering the same exact thing. " I chuckled mentally. And the maid took their orders and looked at me, which I nodded at her and she walked back into the kitchen.
"So if I'm going with you seven," I looked the six mares and Spike. I'm going to need the rest of your names. I know of Spike, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, and Pinkie Pie. But I don't know the full name of you Twilight, and I don't know the name of the white and yellow ones."
"Well my name is Rarity." The white one said.
"Um. I-I'm F-Fluttershy." The yellow one said quietly, which I barely heard.
"Could you speak up, I didn't quite catch that." I said.
"Eh, don't mind Fluttershy. She's like really shy." Rainbow Dash said.
"I sense some positive irony there. " I thought.
"And my full name is Twilight Sparkle." Twilight said. "But just Twilight works."
"Well glad to know the rest of your names." I said. "But anyways, I have two things to say to the new rulers of the Crystal Kingdom."
"Well what is it." Shining Armor ask.
"One: Before I leave with these seven, I will need to take a few of my personal belongings from the armory." I said. "Two: Please keep the guards in order, some still are loyal to me, and I would rather not have them try and over throw you just for me to become the ruler again."
"That will be arranged." Cadance said as the maids came back with their meals and the maids went back into the kitchen.
They all soon started eating all except for Cadance who looked at me with worry. She was about to ask me something before a lone maid came out of the kitchen with a plate that had something that none of them ever expected. A hamburger with a glass of red wine on the plate and placed it in front of me which got sickening looks from them all expect for Fluttershy who was staring at me with wide eyes of fear while quivering with fear.
"S-Sombra, p-please don't tell me that's m-meat." Twilight croaked out.
"Of course it is. What you thought these fangs we're for show?" I asked as I flashed them a toothy grin.
"W-Why on Equis would you eat meat?!" Cadance yelled at me with disgust on her face.
"Because with all my years of dark magic corruption, my all my eating habits changed dramatically. I can digest meat relatively easily while vegetables tend to make me sick to my stomach." I said before taking a bite out of my hamburger which made them all turn green and push their meals away from them as they all gaged.
"T-That's just so wrong on so many levels." Rainbow Dash said as she put a hand over her mouth.
"Hey, My reaction wasn't as carefree as my current one right now is. I was relatively grossed out myself. But I got used to it." I said after I finished my first bite of my food. "And come on, I'm not the one'll one who can digest meat."
"W-What do you mean?" Twilight asked.
"You're little dragon friend." I said as they all gasped in fear. "Dragons eat meat, yes they eat gems, but that's when they're young. When they get older, they'll start craving meat for their diet for protein to grown. Or else they'll die." I said grimly.
"S-Spikey Wikey will eat m-meat?!" Rarity said in horror as she soon fainted.
"That is so..... cool!" Spike said as he jumped up in excitement.
"N-No that's not cool! That's not cool at all!" Twilight said. "There's not way I'm going to let him eat meat at all!"
"If you don't then he'll start craving it to the point, that well, you all will make a fine meal for him." I said as I took a sip of my wine.
With that statement, everything went into chaos. Fluttershy quickly ran out of the dining room with her hands over her mouth and her checks bloated. Rainbow Dash and Applejack looked at Spike with shock and fear who was hugging Twilight tightly while crying, while Twilight was glaring daggers at me with her horn charged up, which will hurt badly if she launched her spell at me. Pinkie's puffy mane went flat. Shingling Armor was puking to the side of him and Cadance was trying her best not to puke at all while her face looked like a wonderful mix of pink of green. And to me, it was fucking hilarious.
"H-How would you know what a dragon's diet consists of?!" Twilight yelled at me.
"Because I'm the only one who had known a elder dragon personally." I said. "He was a good friend of mine. He was a kind and caring dragon with how old he was. I believe he said that he was one of the first few children of the first dragon King and Queen rulers." I looked down at the table with one of the few emotions that I hated. Sadness. "He said that he was at least over five thousand years old. He was a brilliant dragon, but when his meat supply started to disappear he changed drastically. His knowledge started to disappear and started to be replaced with a hungering bloodlust and when he was taken completely over by a bloodlust fulled frenzy," I sighed. "let's just say that the badlands wasn't always a desolate landscape. It was once filled by beautiful and lush forest. After his frenzy he slowly started to die due to a lack of meat in his system. When you see one of your closest a friends die and you could do nothing to prevent it, it's not a fun experience." I finished and looked up to see Twilight looking at me with a face sympathy and sadness.
"I-I'm sorry, I-I didn't know." Twilight said.
"It's quite alright." I said. "Besides there's one thing about him that you need to know."
"Which is?"
"He had the same scale and spine color of your dragon friend. Spike here is of a royal decent." I said which made everypony, who was still in the room or was awake, their jaw drop.
"Y-You mean I-I'm a desedant of a king and queen?" Spiked asked his voice was ragged from crying.
"Correct. And the royal dragon bloodline is the only dragon bloodline that has access to magic." Which made everypony gasp in shock.
"I can use magic?! That is so cool!" Spike said he jumped up into the air in excitement and grinning widely.
"And as he gets older, I'll be the one to help him control his draconic magic." I said which made Twilight tilt her head at me in confusion.
"How would you know how it works?" She asked.
"Because my friend show me how his magic works personally and taught me a little draconic magic himself."
"Like what?"
I smirked at the question and slowly stood up and looked upward, I felt magic that I haven't felt in a long time rush through my body with a great force. I felt the magic warm my body up exponentially. A dragon's fire is a regular thing, but the royal dragon bloodline could infuse their fire with magic to do two important things: Fast travel and item teleportation. I grinned as I felt the heat rise up into my mouth. All except for Fluttershy and Rarity saw flames exiting my mouth as I let out a roar upwards and unleashed a great red and black flame from my mouth as my flames reached the chandelier that was attached to the ceiling, to started to disappear. After my roar was done, the chandelier was completely gone and they all looked at me with wide open mouths.
"I-I, h-how..." Twilight tried to speak.
"Draconic item telelportaion." I answered before I went back to eating my hamburger.
I'm sorry guys that I have completely forgotten about this story for a full year.
But after coming back to this, I hardly ever remember where I was going with this story, so I'm sorry to say but I'm cancelling this story.
I am working on something new, but only time will tell when my new story will be ready.
