Prologue
The Day God Rose Again
Vaati Star sat in a clearing in the Kalos region, to him Pokémon Village was a nice place to gather his thoughts. Nearby his partner Okuu, his Mawile was wandering around looking talking with all the wild Pokémon she could.
Vaati never thought himself an interesting man, to him it truly was the journey that mattered, the destination not being the goal. Over the course of his long journey in Kalos he had visited the many gyms, having gotten all 8 after many tries and crazy strategies. His team was small, but he never cared. They were all he needed after Team Flare’s scheme happened.
Now those guys were people the world could do without, he had run into a few of them across Kalos and when the weapon had been reveled in Geosenge he had teleported there with his Pokémon’s help as fast as he could. Only now did he realize that was a stupid idea. The power of Xerenas flowed through him now, immortal, just like the currently buried Team Flare, forever trapped in their tomb for all time. Now him and Okuu would live for a long time, as well as Patchy, his Gardevoir that had gotten them there.
Sensing his strife Okuu walked over to her trainer and sat down next to him, patting his back. Both of them now trapped in time forever. And Okuu never blamed her trainer’s hero complex, even if it had landed them literally on top of the weapon as it fired to give everyone around it immortality. The day Vaati should have died.
*Flashback*
Patchy, Okuu and Vaati had just teleported to Geosenge, but they had teleported to the center, or rather on top of the weapon as it was charging to fire. Vaati quickly turned around and look at his uneven footing. “BOTH OF YOU GET DOWN.” He had yelled, just in time as the weapon fired, Vaati flew off from the blast Patchy and Okuu anchoring themselves to the weapon watched as their trainer fell to what should have been his death.
To Vaati his life flashed before his eyes, the good and the bad, until he felt to hard ground against his back, and pain flared through him. He lay there, throbbing in pain as his mind processed what had happened. He had flown 50 feet in the air and landed hard, he should have died, yet he didn’t. the strange energy from the weapon course trough him, was this what team Flare had wanted?
*Flashback End*
Only later did Vaati learn that he, Okuu and Patchy had found out what the strange energy was, having meet Calem, the one who captured Xeranas as he emerged from the Flare hideout. Now here he was forever to wonder the Planet as everyone around him grew old, forever young. At least Okuu and Patchy had elected to stay with him. He let his other Pokémon out, to let them continue their own lives unbound to the three now immortals. Fond memoires would be with him for a long time as he remembered his small team. They would be missed but now they were unbound to a man doomed to walk the world forever.
Patchy herself had teleported into the clearing after a short while, the trio electing to silently sit their watching as the world went by them. Unnoticed to them, Pokémon in the clearing all at once fell asleep, and the trio them selves fell into this slumber unnoticed by even themselves as one sentence spelled their fate.
“Rest now my children, for when you awake a whole new world shall be your home.”
