Lullaby

It doesn't take Twilight long to realize that something was going on within the room that currently occupied her daughter. She had gotten up from bed to just grab a drink of water, but the sounds of soft whimper got her to conjure her aura around the doorknob. She twist it and walks right in to see a small form on a small, but comfortable bed that had stuff animals around it and even some were the pillows. The small figure was a filly with blond mane, purple coat, her tail was of a mix of yellow and blue. A small horn sat atop her head and wings also, indicating that she is an alicorn.

The filly currently had her hind legs up to her face, her front hooves around them, and her face buried in them. "Cloudby?" Twilight says gently. She got the attention of her daughter, her eyes covered in small tears but she can plainly see the magneta. Twilight got closer to the filly, "What's wrong, sweetheart?".

The filly sniffs and wipes the tears away, "I-Its nothing, mommy...".

"Come on, sweetheart, you can tell me. Was it a nightmare again?" The filly nods. Twilight got on the bed and puts the filly's head on her hind legs, "Don't worry, honey. But why were you just sitting there?".

"I didn't want to look weak."

"Huh? What are you talking about?".

"...I'm the Princess of Friendship, daughter of Twilight Sparkle and Captain of the Wonderbolts. I'm suppose to be brave, taking on things that could very well put me in danger, but if I'm too afraid to face my nightmares, then how am I suppose to face what comes?". Twilight's heart shake, she has never truly given a thought as to what her daughter's life would be like once she takes her place, She certainly faced tons of things during her time, villains who have became her friend, and others who have tried to take over Equestria countless times. She is certainly seeing her mate in her, she is defiantly becoming more and more like her father everyday. Not long ago she wanted to become a Wonderbolt that brought joy in her mate.

Twilight touches the top of her daughter's head, "Cloudby, I know your worried, but you don't have to hide it. I used to have nightmares when I was your age, and so did your father. It's perfectly fine to come see us if need be."

Cloudby looks up at her, a smile plastered on her mother's face, "Okay."

"Now, knowing you, you won't be able to sleep until I read you a story about me or your father, but I think you'll be more interested in something new.  Something that involves a little something about a certain two people, and I guaranteed that it'll put you to sleep. And might just get you a bit curious as to who they are story. I hope you can figure it out." The last two bits she said softly.

There once was a girl

who came into place,

a place that was

entirely knew

She had a task

that was simple

the moon shine bright

nightmares roam free

six people go off

to save the day

once it was over

one felt something

for her

it took her a while

to finally notice

a threat soon after

that compromised it all

it took them both

a threat great

to fully realize how she felt

a pain of lost

that soon came life

for them both

she looks on great

the smile that plastered

on the face of her mate

that saw the new found life

they both her grow

and seeing her

brought their hearts to shine

now she looks

looks at the new heart

and thinks at her future

the girl she had created

has now brought

her heart to the sun

she knows she'll be okay

for she is the daughter

of the queen and the wonderbolt

Once she was done, Twilight looks down at her daughter, who was fast asleep. She has fallen asleep, listening to the lullaby has put her to sleep, just as she had predicted. Twilight gently lays Cloudby on the pillows, puts the covers over her, and plants a kiss on her cheek. She grabs her cup of water and heads out of the room, closing the door behind her in the process. She knows that her daughter will be okay, she is pretty strong, even willing to hold back tears at such an age. Everypony does say that she looks and acts like her parents, now she knows what they meant. She is just like her parents after all.

Twilight heads back to her room that was also where her mate was, fast asleep with drool coming off the side of her mouth. She got in the bed slowly, as to not disturb her stomach, it has certainly gotten bigger, another buddle of joy to come into the world.

"So? Did she go back to sleep?". Twilight was a little startled by the reawakening of her mate, Rainbow Dash.

"She's fast a sleep."

"Did you sing her that song?"

"Not much of a song, but a lullaby."

"Isn't it the same?"

"Well-"

"Nevermind. You'll say some egghead thing that I'll simply block." She wasn't lying.

"She's just like you, you know. She has your bravery. She wants to be a Wonderbolt, then she wants to be a Queen, I wonder what she'll be."

"Why not both?"

Twilight looks at Rainbow with a look that clearly read questionable, "Because it's not possible."

"Says who?" That's where Twilight actually stops and began to think, she certainly had the power to allow this, though this wasn't exactly against the law. A princess, no less a queen, have ever done something like this.

"Okay, perhaps maybe she can... but we'll see in the-" Twilight puts a hoof over her stomach.

Rainbow Dash stood up quickly, "Are you okay? What's wrong?".

"Nothing, just a small bump with the baby." She kept her hoof on her belly. In seconds she felt another bump. "She sure is kicking a lot."

"She wants to be born. And I don't blame her, I would want out too if I was trap in there for nine months and she has two months remaining."

"Yeah... she's going to be bumping for a while. Maybe she'll become a Wonderbolt instead."

"A queen and her sister the Wonderbolt, and their both alicorns, so that'll be a story everyone will be saying. And here I thought the story of how they're born was going to be great for news."

"It still is."

"Oh. Well just wait for this to come... how long will it be?"

"What? You mean Cloudby becoming queen?".

"Yeah."

"Unknown... she is half alicorn, so... I'm not sure."

"I'm sure she'll be great, but this little one I believe will be a great flyer." Rainbow Dash puts her hoof on Twilight's belly.

"Maybe. The future is a sure enough a sure thing."
