Strange. Sonata should've been home by now. Granted, the blue bimbo has a hard time remembering how to CHEW, so something like an address would DEFINITELY confuse her.
Soon enough, the taco lover came bounding through the door and held something strange under an arm.
It was a beat-up board game. It looked like it was made of stone and wood.
"Sonata, what is THAT?" Aria asked.
"Hmm? Oh! It's a board game I found in an alley behind the taco place. It's called Jumanji. Wanna play?!" She asked eagerly.
"I would rather stick my hand in a blender." Aria said dryly.
"Fine. I won't leave you alone until you agree to play." Sonata said.
"If I'm suffering through this, so is Adagio." Aria said with a heavy sigh.
"Yay!" Sonata cheered.
"Dagi! Get down here! Sonata got food!" Aria yelled.
Adagio descended the stairs of their two-story house and saw her two annoying compatriots.
"Aria, why did you do that? I told you to only call me down here when Sonata is useful." Dagi said.
"Hey, if I'M gonna be in pain, so are YOU." Aria said.
"Whatever." Dagi said with a roll of her lovely magenta eyes.
Sonata opened the board via the two hinges on the side and beheld the game board. White squares all lead from four circles to a bigger circle in the middle which was reflective and a dark green. The pendants of the Sirens glowed red as they looked at the board.
"Sonata...you may have actually done something right! This thing is full of magic!" Adagio said happily.
"Wow!" The blue Siren said in a childlike voice.
Aria found four pawns. A rhino, an elephant, a lion, and a monkey. She also found two six-sided die.
The pawns instantly snapped to their respective spots, unsettling the Sirens.
"On second thought, Sonata, you're every bit an idiot." Adagio said through gritted teeth.
"Well, we came this far. Might as well go for the whole thing." Aria said with a shrug.
Adagio decided to go first, Aria was second, leaving Sonata for last.
Dagi cast the die and got a six. Before she could move her piece, it moved of its accord.
When it reached the end of its journey, green mist swirled in the middle circle. It formed a rhyme.
"They grow much faster than bamboo. Take care or they'll come after you." Dagi read.
"Wow. Thrilling." Aria said snidely.
Pieces of plaster sprinkled on them and the trio saw roots and vines growing from the ceiling.
"What the hell?" Aria asked.
"Those are vines." Dagi said, mouth agape.
"Talk about lifelike." Sonata mused.
Adagio promptly walked away from the game and back up.
"Adagio! Wait!" Aria yelled.
A thick vine stopped the orange-haired Siren's progress and startled her.
"We can't stop playing the game until one of us wins. Says so on the inside of the hinges. You win by getting to the middle and calling out the game's name." Aria explained once their leader came back.
"Joy of joys." Dagi groaned.
Reluctantly, Aria took the dice. She sighed and rolled. She got a 7 and landed on a rhino space.
"Apparently, the rhino can impede the progress of others." She said as she looked at Dagi.
"Aria, I swear..." Dagi said.
"What? It was just gonna block Sonata." Aria said with a smirk.
"Huh?" Sonata said as a rhino figure blocked her pawn's progress.
"I like this game all of a sudden." Dagi smirked.
"Gotta roll an even number to pass it, twerp." Aria sneered.
"Damnit!" Sonata cried.
Adagio rolled a 2 and the mist swirled again.
"Elephants charging! You must confess, a freight train's damage would be much less." Dagi read.
"Uh-oh." Sonata said nervously.
"Let's book!" Aria yelled.
"We can't go upstairs, you moron!" Adagio said.
"Basement!" Sonata yelled.
As they retreated, sure enough, they heard elephants charging and destroying their house.
"You idiots alive?" Aria asked.
"Think so." Dagi said.
"Owwie..." Sonata groaned.
"My turn." Aria said as she dusted her hoodie off.
She rolled a 6 and...another rhino. She moved the rhino to stop Dagi.
"Last time you mess with ME, Dazzle." Aria said arrogantly.
She handed the dice to Sonata.
Sonata rolled a 5 and moved the rhino to stop Aria.
"YOU LITTLE BITCH!" Aria roared.
"We're even." Sonata said as she stuck her tongue out.
"They'll never find your body down here." Aria threatened.
Dagi snatched the dice and rolled a 6.
"Big as fists, these balls of ice, through umbrellas they will slice." Aria read.
"Hail? Not a problem. We're inside! In a basement!" Sonata said happily.
"You better be right." Aria said.
A 6 for Aria. The rhino went back to Sonata.
"We're even." Aria smirked.
Sonata rolled a 6, freeing her.
"A cavernous yawn, with tusks of course, be sure to skirt this river horse." Aria read.
"A hippo? But there's no water here." Dagi said.
"Worry bout it later." Aria said.
Dagi rolled an 8.
"In the jungle you must stay, until danger rolls away." Sonata said.
"That's not good." Aria said.
Dagi started getting sucked into the middle of the board to the shock of her friends.
