It's time!

Vinyl was walking through the streets of Ponyville with her headphones on, unable to hear anything.  She was levitating a basket of groceries with her magic, making her way to her house.

When she finally arrived, she took off her shades and tried to open the door. It was locked.

Well, Octavia likes her privacy... of course she'll lock it. She heard noises coming from the house. Octavia is probably in the shower.

Vinyl looked in the basket. Where is the key?

She looked through the window. She spotted her key on the counter, right next to Octavia's.

'Ahhh! of course she'll move my stuff! now how can i get it?' Vinyl thought, trying to find a way in.

But no, for some reason, all the windows were locked.

'Jezz, did she really need to lock all of the windows?' she thought.

Vinyl knew that she can get in as soon as Octavia was out of the shower, so she decided to walk a bit until she can get in.

Vinyl started walking calmly, and stopped when she reached Sugarcube Corner.

Pinkie pie was hopping out of the cake shop.

"Oh hi Vinyl," she said and hopped away. 'I wish i could say hi back," Vinyl thought, a bit depressed.

She kept on walking. She stumbles across Lyra and Bon Bon, sitting on their favorite bench and talking.

"Oh, hi Vinyl!" said Lyra. "It's really good to see you!" added Bon Bon. Vinyl nodded, like she was saying 'what's up'.

Her friends, able to understand her, were smiling at each other in a suggestive way. "Oh, you know, just hanging out with my best friend," Bon Bon said. Vinyl, that knew that they were naive enough to not realize the special connection they have, didn't judge the smiles and looks they exchanged with each other. She nodded their way as saying 'bye', and walked away.

Vinyl just realized she was sad. she wanted to talk. she wanted to say 'hello' to her friends, say 'good morning' to Octavia when she wakes up. she wanted a voice. She decided it's time. it's time she'll have a voice.

She walked home and opened the door. "Oh, hello Vinyl. You brought the groc--" Octavia started. Vinyl ran off somewhere, without her shades or her key. Octavia noticed the basket. at least she went shopping.

After a few minutes of waiting patiently in the Hospital, the nurse let Vinyl enter one of the rooms.

The Doctor and the Nurse analysed her problem and tried to figure out what to do.

After more than an hour, The Doctor had an answer for her.

"We figured out the problem, miss Scratch. You are sick in a very common virus called 'Hasbro'.

It happens to everypony now days, and you're lucky. In your case, we might cure it. not everyone gets this opportunity, miss Scratch, so listen well. There is a special spell that will cure the problem. It will take a piece of your soul, analyse it and make a voice that matches your personality. The only problem is, that if you're not happy, we can't change the voice. It's permanent. Do you still wanna take that chance?" The Doctor said. Vinyl nodded as saying 'yeah'.

"Ok, miss Scratch. After the surgery, you can't use your voice for 24 hours, or it might damage your system. Now let's start."

Vinyl walked out of the hospital, cheerful and happy as ever.

she walked home. "Dear celestia, Vinyl! where did you run off to?!" Octavia asked.

Vinyl wrote the whole story on a piece of paper she found, and gave it to Octavia.

"Really? you'll have a voice in 24 hours? that's great news!" she said.

Vinyl nodded happily.

           24 hours later

*~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~*

Vinyl woke up. She started playing loud music and opened the window like every morning. "Good morning, Ponyviiiiiiiilllllllllllllllllleeeeeee!" she  shouted.

Then she went immediately silent.

She talked!

And her voice... it was low and awesome like she always wanted it to be.

"Hi," she said quietly to herself.

She can talk!

"OCTAVIA!!!!" she shouted.

it felt so good!

Octavia opened her room. "what Vinyl?!" she said.

"I CAN TALK!"

Octavia took a moment to take in what she just said.

Then Vinyl opened the nearby window and said what she always wanted to say:

"Bass Canon."
