Rarity's Mysteries: Flight of The Basilisk
Investigation Of The Castle
Load Full StoryA cold breeze blew in the dark halls of Princess Celestia's and Luna's castle. A window must have been left open, thought a white mare, her purple mane curling away from her elegant face. She wore a dark, long hat, and a black vest with a cream collar. A red lace wrapped gently around her neck and tied in a bow. Her round hat was short and had a thin brim. At the left side, a feather was stuck in to the hat. Her blue eyes scanned the hallway she stood in and smirked, seeing a smudge on the window sill. She approached and looked more closely at the smudge. She turned around to check if she was aloine and the empty room confirmed it to be true, so she silently spoke to her self, her proper English accent gently echoing in the hall.
"You needed a way out, the guards were most likely chasing you." She stepped closer and a crunch sounded beneath her pearl white hooves. Out of instinct, she glanced downward and noticed a broken peice of tile.
"The guards attacked, and missed, breaking the floor where you stood." She looked up towards the window, which too, was broken and glass was missing from the top of the window.
"Then, you leapt. Judging by the height of the smashed glass, you used an extra boost, possibly wings to get higher into the air, meaning you flew off to hide the stolen goods, as a you are more than likely either a Pegasus, a griffin, or a small dragon." She started to turn, and as she did, she saw a note.
"But you left a note? How odd indeed. Perhaps I should take this as evidence? Or perhaps read and copy it, then give this note to the princess? Oh what to do?"
She thought for a moment, then nodded her head and copied the note.
"I know not who will read this note first, or if it ever will be found, but tread carefully. I will only be found when I want to be. But your crown never will beuncovered, and in the unlikely event that it does get found, it will be too late. All Equestrian fates have been sealed. -The Basilisk
"This Basilsk character sounds far too dangerous to ignore. I must anonymously give this evidence to the royal guards at once!"
