(POV: Ancient human Admiral)

(Stardate: ???)

Admiral Barlet was not a happy man. He was the last leader of what was once a glorious civilisation. An extinction event known to the universe as the resurgence had wiped out most human colonies in the galaxy. Those that were left had been attacked by an unknown creature. A chaotic mix of animal parts from ancient human history that sowed Chaos and Discord Wherever it went. Continents split, merged, or generally just collapsed as the skies rained acidic liquids. Mutations ran rampant throughout livestock and the oceans boiled as planets cores were exposed to the world as volcanoes erupted and Tectonic Plates shifted. One by one all the human colonies were destroyed, the planets ripped asunder by madness.

Holy Terra, the cradle of humanity was all that was left. The great beast on its way to finish what it begun, the extermination of all life in the galaxy and the once mighty human fleets were powerless to stop it. Lasers turned to Cordial, Bullets turned to small chocolate snacks midflight. Rockets became fireworks and MPGAC shells merely turned to foam as the monster approached. The humans were out of time, their backs to the wall, they were forced to reveal their final card. If fighting it did not work, and running away didn't work, then all that was left was to vanish, hide, and wait for time to take its course for nothing is endless and even the beast had to move on eventually. So humanity, its mighty warships refitted for living, simply vanished as Earth was reduced to nought but a fiery hell, those left behind doomed to a slow, fiery death at the hands of the planets death throws.

And as such, the humans were no more.

But not all endings are final, for an ending is merely another beginning.
