//-------------------------------------------------------// Princess Twilight Sparkle? -by kittenrobotarmy- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Princess Starlight Glimmer //-------------------------------------------------------// Princess Starlight Glimmer As the quill came down to put down the final period to complete the spell Twilight had struggled with for the past day, Starlight Glimmer wondered what she would've done if she hadn't left Princess Celestia. The thought had crossed her mind countless times over the years, wondering how her life would be different if she hadn't grown tired of her studies and angry with nearly everypony in Canterlot. Only the Princess showed her unwavering kindness and respect, but this just angered Starlight even more. "Stay away from me, you demon." She muttered under her breath as she stared up at the vault containing her victims' cutie marks. She contained all their special talents with her special spell, and had achieved equality. Suddenly, Starlight was hit with a punch so powerful, it knocked her right to the ground. It was like hot brass knuckles with decided to pound her face to a pulp. She couldn't move, couldn't see, couldn't hear. Everything was just.. nothing. It didn't exist. But that soon ended as she opened her eyes. It was a beautiful sight to see. Starlight had been teleported to an odd place, and everything was a bit blurry. It was kind of like Limbo, come to think of it. It was all blue with swirling white mists everything, including what she stood on. It was such an odd place, Starlight had never heard or read of such a thing. "Starlight Glimmer? Is that you?" A voice sounded from the distance. Starlight peered in the direction that it came from. She had thought she was alone in Limbo, but it appears she was not. She was confused; nopony knew her other than her 'friends', and Starlight was nearly certain that Celestia had forgotten she existed. But who came walking up to the unicorn? Princess Celestia herself. She cleared her throat and muttered, "Odd, I was certain that I told that spell to teleport Twilight. Oh well." She shook her head in irritation. Starlight stood shocked for a moment before jumping away from Celestia. "Where are we? What are you doing here? What did you do to me?!" She hissed, slowly backing away. She knew this would be Celestia's revenge. A princess can only stay composed for so long, and Starlight had long since pushed her over the edge. Celestia must have forced her here in order to exact her punishment on Starlight for abandoning her. Instead of doing anything, the Sun Princess sat down as though she was going to to enjoy a cup of tea. "You see, I intended to turn a very special pony into an alicorn princess. But it appears the spell didn't go right, so now you're here, my dear Starlight. Speaking of which, how is your equality mission going?" Celestia smiled. Her voice was smooth and floated into the air as though they weren't in a crisis. However, those words went right through Starlight and she began to furiously bark out at Celestia. "HOW DARE YOU TURN ANOTHER PONY INTO AN ALICORN?! I WAS YOUR LOYAL STUDENT, AND YET YOU REFUSED ME MY ONE TRUE WISH - EQUALITY!" The unicorn roared, getting right up in Celestia's face. She was breathing heavily, letting her anger out. She wanted equality for all ponies - except for her, that is. She would be the supreme ruler of Equestria, and there would be no stopping her. "My dear Starlight, we both know you don't believe in equality for everypony. You wanted to rule Equestria and overthrow me and my sister. You wanted to strip ponies of their cutie marks and make them your own. You really should not have told me that while you were drunk." Starlight's face went slack. She told Celestia all of her plans while she was drunk at a party. Great job, moron. The emotions rolling around inside of her were starting to just turn into simple rage. Knowing that Celestia never even intended to bring Starlight here made her even more angry. But those emotions were muffled by a simple thought. "Did you not say something about turning somepony into an alicorn?" Starlight smiled. If she had come here without Celestia intending it, that meant it was her time to become the ruler of Equestria by the rules of destiny - the embodiment of everything. Starlight would become an alicorn because it was the law of the universe, not because of the stupid princess. Celestia raised an eyebrow and replied, "Yes. But I intended for my faithful student, Twilight Sparkle, to become the Princess of Friendship. But considering it teleported you here and not Twilight, that's a bit of a pickle." Starlight's anger rose to a boiling point, but she willed it back down. Celestia calling this Twilight Sparkle pony her "faithful student" was a punch in the gut and it made her want to scream. But Starlight knew she would not be able to get out of here without convincing Celestia to let her go. Starlight tried to use her horn to no avail, so she couldn't do much of anything. In a strangled voice that was attempting to be monotone, she replied, "Why is this a pickle? Why am I here at all?" Celestia bit her lip and blushed. She was not looking forward to telling Starlight what went wrong. "Well, I lost my spellbook so I decided to use my phone to make sure the spell that Twilight created teleported her here. But autocorrect replaced Twilight Sparkle with Starlight Glimmer because I texted about you so much, and that's why you're here. But neither of us can leave until I do what I intended." The Princess paused for a moment, then added on, "I take that back. You can't leave, I can. If I go back to the castle and leave you here, then you'd be stuck in eternal hell until I decide to come back and get you." Celestia's face was demonic and she said quietly, "Maybe that should happen so you'll learn a lesson or two." Starlight's face drained of it's color. In an instant, she felt regret, guilt and a desire to make it up to Princess Celestia. "N-no, please! I'm begging you, Princess! Don't leave me behind!" Her brain couldn't believe she was feeling sorry, but how much did the unicorn care? Not much. She never knew Celestia was capable of mental torture, but right now, she believed it could happen. Starlight struggled to regain her composure, because the Princess's face was not a pleasant sight. Thankfully, it turned into a small smile. Princess Celestia chuckled at Starlight's plead to not leave her behind. Her mane quivered a bit as her body bobbed up and down a bit. "Very well, Starlight Glimmer. But in order for you to leave this place, I must, let's say, rank you up a bit. I would rather do this to Twilight, but perhaps becoming royalty will help you see the error of your ways." Before Starlight had time to process what Celestia had just told her, color filled her vision. Celestia's horn glowed a brilliant yellow and Starlight was lifted into the air. A magical aura surrounded her body as she felt emotions she had never felt before, seen colors she'd never seen. Everything was weightless, with the exception of everything. It felt cold and warm, soft and hard, transparent and opaque. It was quite trippy, to say the least. The sensation prolonged as Starlight came back down to Equestria in her own cutie mark. It was confusing and she immediately fretted. What if the villagers saw the cutie mark, and questioned her? What would she do then? The vault came into view and she landed in the exact place she had been standing before the spell had teleported her. The aura was gone, the sounds had vanished, and all was right with the world.. except for the wings on her side, the increased length of her horn and she was suddenly taller. A grin broke out as Starlight formulated a plan. She had become an alicorn, and now had more power than everypony! "I can tell the villagers I've become the Princess of Equality, granted these wings to spread equality to all of Equestria, and they will obey me without a single question!" Starlight stretched her wings wide.. not. Her new wings didn't open, as though they were glued shut. Irritated, the alicorn attempted to open her wings, but the attempts were in vain. They wouldn't budge. No matter, I can just use my magic to open them! She focused her will into her horn to open her wings, but nothing happened. Her horn did not even spark. She had no magic at all. Her horn and wings were useless. Starlight Glimmer had become an alicorn, but was reduced to an earth pony. "CELESTIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" Author's Note Thanks for reading whatever this thing is!
