Sorry I haven’t been talking to you as of late. I know, I know, ‘Analise, it’s been three whole months!’ I am so, so, so, so, so sorry! I can’t even begin to apologize so instead I’ll just tell you why:
I met somepony. This pony is a mare, and she is a unicorn. Since her and I met, I have been with her, travelling. We’ve seen many places; both familiar and new. We’ve been through Tartarus and back. And we both had our share of good times and bad.
I have to go now. I am sorry, but my time is up. I promise to talk to you again as soon as I can.
~Analise
It all started like any other morning in Manehattan in the mare’s studio apartment...
“AHHHH! I’m late! I’m late, I’m late, I’m late!” the worried mare shrieked. She jumped out of her bed and raced around her room like a minotaur in a pottery shop. The girl didn’t even care if she looked like a mess at first because she was more worried about her attire for the day.
“Blue dress with black trim? Or white dress with gold trim? Lavender maybe?” She mused, holding each dress up in front of her and the full body mirror; each dress enveloped in a fuschia aura, “Jasper, which one do you think?” Analise turned about face and looked at Jasper, her pet cat from Saddle Arabia. He looked up from his routine cleaning and meowed. “You’re absolutely right. This one will do wondrously.”
After spending close to thirty minutes on just debating on what dress to wear, the elated mare spent only a hooful of minutes primping herself. She brushed out the knots in her mane, plucked her eyebrows, and brushed her teeth before she raced out of her studio apartment with the speed of a Young Flier with something to prove to somepony.
But what this mare didn’t know about today was how different it would be. Today would mark a turning point in her life forever...
Analise raced through the streets of Manehattan towards the city center where her job waited. As she avoided many business ponies dressed in their sharp business suits, her lavender sundress and matching frilly skirt flailed behind her. With how much of a hurry she was in she didn’t have time to realize she was coming up to a crosswalk, nor have the time to stop.
CRASH!
"Umph!" A mare cried as she walked into somepony thanks to being shoved by an ill-mannered stallion, who had also taken the chance to whack her on the bottom with his tail as he past by.
"Well screw you too," The mare mumbled as she stood up and offered a hoof to the mare she had been pushed into, "Sorry about that. Someone bumped into me." She apologized.
"Oww!" Analise squeaked as she fell onto her flank and rubbed her head, cringing at the pain. When she opened her eyes, she saw the mare she had run into holding a hoof out to her.
"Oh my, I'm sorry!" Analise quickly apologized before taking the helping hoof. She blinked when she looked down at the mare and when she did, she cocked her head, "Are you okay, miss?" She asked worriedly before she noticed that the shoulder of her dress had been torn.
Ponyfeathers. Rarity is going to shriek. She thought to herself as other ponies passed by the two mares, Analise had seen a couple of the older stallions looking her over intently. She ignored them, reminding herself that it wasn't her fault she had grown into such a beauty. Then it happened, she remembered a compliment she had been given one week ago.
Due to her lithe frame and her Saddle Arabian origins, Analise had been compared to Fleur de Lis, except better grown. Analise cringed at that thought then pushed it out of her mind. "I didn't hurt you, did I?" Analise inquired of the mare, forgetting she was running late for work.
Shadow Eyes shook her head as she took in the sight of the mare with her magic field then she managed to suppress a blush. She soon noticed the mare’s dress had a torn shoulder and felt bad.
"Here let me fix that," said Shadow Eyes as her horn lit up and casted a repair spell on the dress, mending the ripped stitching, "Can't have you running around looking like some bum." She said, pointedly looking away before she started to trot away when she suddenly stopped, looked over her shoulder at Analise, and asked: "What's your name?"
Analise watched as the blue mare’s magic worked efficiently to fix her damaged dress. She had heard of such magic before, but never thought to learn it herself because she had never needed to.
“Thank you so much!” She said bowing her head to the unicorn. She raised her head and flipped her coppery mane before flashing a bright smile, “How can I repay you?” Analise asked as she looked the mare over.
Analise was so ecstatic to have her dress mended that she let her kind-natured side take the lead and she felt the need to repay the mare’s kindness back, “My name’s Analise. And yours?”
“Shadow Eyes.” The unicorn who wore sunglasses answered back. Right after she and Analise had exchanged names, Shadow Eyes facehoofed herself, What are you doing? You’re a wanted mare! You shouldn’t be flirting with some random mare you bumped into on the streets! She inwardly scolded herself for taking the time to make chit-chat with this random mare, Analise, she had bumped into.
As Shadow Eyes went about scolding herself she stopped then smiled as the two parted paths. Why shouldn’t she have some fun every now and then? Flirting wouldn’t put her behind bars unless she did so with the wrong pony, but that was a very slim chance. After all, unless you were a foalfooler, who wouldn’t want to flirt back with such a cute mare?
