Into the Unknown

Great waves crashed against a submerging vessel. No shouts, screams, voices, or hoofsteps could be heard from her decks. The roar of an immense fire on board had reduced to small flickers of light thanks to the seawater, but all was too late. The beautiful sailing ship from hours before had transformed into a burnt and drenched crisp. The sky was an ominous dark shade, devoid of light. The only way a pony could see would be from the fire patches or the occasional lightning strike. The thunder was worse than anypony had ever heard. The deep boom would deafen ones ear from being too close to it's source. Thunder would roll into the distance for what seemed like eternity, and for every boom, more rain would fall.

Such a terrible scene would seem surreal to an everyday pony. But what happened was anything but fantasy. No, this was the final resting place of the Hydralac, the strongest vessel to ever sail at that time.

Nopony would ever know of her final moments at sea, and the brutality and bloodshed caused. Nopony would know because there was no land for many miles. Her crew had ventured out into the unknown, discovering many things on their way. The unfortunate tragedy struck on their way back to Equestria. It was a saddening ending for her crew.

Suddenly, out of the darkness of the never ending ocean, there was a splash.
