Truth and Forgiveness

Dream Traverse Town: First District Plaza

Twilight was shocked. How could this be Sombra? He died when they restored the Crystal Heart back when the Crystal Empire returned.

The air above Sombra’s hands suddenly got more distorted and two strange monkey-like Dream Eaters materialized. Sombra then summoned a Portal of Darkness and left. “Really?” Yoshiya questioned as he pulled his phone out again. “You, Sombra, are following too closely to the “Cliché Villain's Guide.” Summoning Boss level monsters to cover your escape into the shadows. I just hope that he doesn’t go Mega boss at the end of this story.”

The two Dream Eaters attacked Yoshiya and Twilight. Twilight worked on fending off the attacks from the one that had legs while Yoshiya started to levitate and use his phone to command light and crystals to focus on the one without legs. “Why don’t you focus on fighting rather than complaining about how Sombra does things,” Twilight scolded.

“Alright!” He caused a white crystal to knock the floating Dream Eater away and took the other’s attention. “Start working on cleansing the barrier while I give these guys punishment for messing with the Composer.”

Twilight nodded and turned to the barrier. She raised her keyblade up to it and fired a beam of light at it. As soon as the beam hit, she focused her love for her family into the beam. She thought of all the good times she had with her friends. She remembered the sorrow her brother had and knowing of his pain, she poured her love and happiness into that and then some.

Meanwhile, back at the Sparkle Residence

Cadence, Night Light, and Twilight Velvet had done everything they could to help Silver Crown through his pain. His convulsions were handled by restraining him when they happened and his pain had to be constantly dulled by low level Cure spells.

“What is taking Flash and Shining so long?” Night complained as he held his son in his magical grasp. “They’ve been gone for more than an hour.”

“Night!” Velvet scolded. “Try to be patient. They will save Twilight when they get it done.”

“Mother!” Cadence shouted out. “How can you be so optimistic during this?”

“She’s right,” Night agreed. “She’s the Princess of Love, so her getting worried is a big thing.”

“Dad, that’s not the point. The point is that one of your children is in a questionable state of sleep, another is visibly in pain, and most importantly, the third is risking his neck to save them both. And I have almost more reason to worry about the last one. He’s my husband.”

“And my brother.” Everypony’s head’s turned to where Silver was being held.

“Silver!” They all shouted and rushed to his pained figure.

“Has Twilight been saved?” Cadence asked.

“Yes and no,” he responded. He continued, not allowing any questions. “She’s still within the snare, but she’s banished her fear and uncertainty and replacing it with love and hope.” Placing a hoof on his chest, he took a deep breath. “It’s freed me from the pain, but I can still feel that she can’t get out. I need to be taken to where she is so that I can provide an escape for her.”

“How can you provide such an escape?” Night asked. In response, Silver summoned his Keyblade, showing it to his father.

“I have my ways.” He was set down gently and he went to walk to the door. He stumbled from his weakness and Cadence rushed over and let him lean against her for support. “Thanks. All that pain took a lot out of me.” He then began walking towards the door with Cadence keeping him supported. “Let’s go help Twilight.”

Back to the Realm of Dreams

Twilight cartwheeled away from a punch that the legged Dream Eater tried to deliver. She retaliated with a swipe to it’s face. If she wasn’t worried or frustrated earlier, she was now. She couldn’t remain at the barrier to purify it and break it, otherwise she would be open for the Dream Eaters to attack. If she focused on fighting, the barrier would repair and corrupt itself.

Regardless of her worry and frustration, she still kept her love for her brother, family, and friends strong. After once again dodging a punch from the Dream Eater, she voiced help to nopony in particular. “Silver, Shiny, Flash, anypony. I need help.”

“Don’t worry, Twilight. I’m on my way.”

Equestria: Canterlot Castle Guest Wing

It had taken the better part of a half hour to arrive at the castle and roughly another half hour to get to where the guards had directed where Princess Luna was with Twilight. Upon entering the room, both Cadence and Silver were surprised at the scene. Twilight was asleep on the bed and Shining, Flash, and Luna seemed shaken up from something.

“Is everything alright?” Cadence asked, surprising the group. Shining saw Cadence and rushed to her and gave her a hug. Silver moved away from them and Flash helped him stay standing.

“We entered the Dreamscape to help Twily,” Shining started.

“And we were attacked by a monster reincarnation of Nightmare Moon...I think,” Flash said. “With the help of a unicorn dream walker, we were able to destroy it. We’ve been ejected from the Dreamscape, but I think Twilight is still there.”

“Whoever laid that trap for Twilight must really be trying hard to keep her asleep,” Silver commented, moving closer to Twilight. He watched her twitch in her sleep before turning towards Shining. “What did the Dream walker look like?”

“He was yellow, had a silver mane and tail…” Before he could continue, Shining was suddenly grabbed by Silver.

“Did he have a keyblade that looked like it was angelic in a demonic way?” Silver then began shaking him violently. “Tell me!” After Silver stopped shaking him, he was given a weak nod. Silver then released Shining, who then fell to the ground, and began to jump about the room, repeatedly shouting, “That was Riku!”

Silver was then taken by surprise by Princess Luna grabbing him in her magic. “How dost thou know of Black Heart?!” She bellowed in Royal Canterlot Voice, distorting Silver’s face in the process. Silver shook his head from the audio abuse he suffered.

“Aunty Luna!” Cadence shouted. “From how Silver reacted to this...Black Heart’s description, Riku and Black Heart are one and the same, thus meaning that he knew him since…?” She looked to Silver questioningly.

“As long as I could remember,” he admitted.

Luna’s gaze went from Cadence to Silver a few times before pulling Silver into a back breaking hug. As Silver struggled with back pain and the labor that was breathing, Luna teared up. “A link to my son,” she quietly sobbed. “You’re a link to my son.”

“Can’t. Breathe. Cadence. Help,” Silver weased. Cadence pried him out of Luna’s hug and applied another Cure spell to help with the pain and breathing. “Now, Twilight is safe, but she’s still trapped.”

“Then how can we get her out of there!?” Shining almost shouted.

“Just stand back. I’m not sure what will happen.” Silver summoned his keyblade and pointed it at Twilight. His keyblade glowed as did Twilight.

Dream Traverse Town: First District Plaza

Twilight and Yoshiya were both sore and exhausted. They had managed to defeat the Dream Eaters, but they weren’t given any real rest after that. Lesser Dream Eaters Swarmed the two after the two giant monkey ones were defeated. The strange thing about these Dream Eaters was that their primary focus seemed to be on Twilight. They only fought Yoshiya if he was proving to be too much trouble for them.

Just as Twilight felt as though she was ready to fight again, a panda-like Dream Eater knocked her into the corrupt barrier. She struggled to her feet as Yoshiya kept the monsters at bay while she got up. “We aren’t getting anywhere!” She shouted out in frustration. “How are we going to…” She was cut off by a bright light above her. Looking up, she saw a keyhole surrounded by light.

“Twilight!” Yoshiya shouted. “Forget the Portal! Use that!” He continued, pointing at the Keyhole.

“How?!”

“Put two and two together!” He shouted back. He then went back to fighting.

After a moment of thinking, Twilight could only facepalm at how she had forgotten about what the keyblade could do. She pointed her keyblade at the Keyhole and a beam of light sailed to it and seemed to break a hole in reality. Light then poured through and she felt sleep envelop her.

Her vision blacked out, but she still saw something in that darkness. It looked like a door.

Equestria: Canterlot Castle

Twilight’s horn lit up with a golden aura and blasted out a shockwave, knocking against hastily thrown up barriers and Silver’s Reflect spell. Once the proverbial smoke cleared, everypony carefully approached Twilight. Her eyes seemed to slowly work their way open. Silver, Shining, and Flash were the first ones to react and practically tackled her off of the bed and hugging her.

“Guys. Can’t. Breathe,” Twilight weased. Silver reacted first, unlatching himself from her, followed by Shining. Flash just simply loosened his grip and then gave Twilight a kiss, which she returned. After a few minutes of kissing, Silver cleared his throat. Twilight and Flash broke their kiss and saw everypony “staring” at them. With a bit of a blush on both of their faces, they separated and tried to act casual.

Before anypony could start teasing them, Twilight rushed to Silver and hugged him. With tears streaming down her face, she apologized. “Silver, I’m so sorry for earlier. I didn’t know about the Door. I saw what Riku did for the door to close. He may have fallen to Darkness, but he did so much for the light.”

Silver returned the hug, tears coming down his face. “It’s okay, Twilight. I can’t blame you for not not knowing. Black Heart knew what he was doing.”

“Black Heart?”

“As it turns out, Riku is the son of Princess Luna and his Equestrian name is Black Heart.”

Shining suddenly facehoofed. “I just suddenly feel so stupid!”

Silver turned to him, and said, “Nice way to ruin the moment!”

“I’m serious, Silver!” Shining retorted. “You told me that Xehanort is a cunning planner, and if his servants are in this, that means we have a bit of a problem.”

“Get to the point!” Flash shouted.

“I’ll get there, but we need to look at what happened to Silver in the past while. First, he’s attacked by Xemnas, then a robed pony nearly kills him. He’s then knocked out by this Vanitas, and now he’s been reunited with his family.” He paused for emphasis. “If they wanted him dead, or at least out of the picture for this Organization to do their hostile takeover of all existence, then the last event doesn’t make sense unless they had a reason to do that.”

Silver let go of Twilight and began to pace. This went on for a few minutes before he suddenly exclaimed, “Son of a Gun, they’re smarter than they look sometimes.”

Twilight was confused. “What are you talking about?”

“The Organization reunited us or allowed us to be reunited as to distract me. And it worked very well until you fell into their trap.”

“About time you caught on,” a voice said. Everypony looked and saw a magical orb that seemed to be having a hard time staying active. It then pulsed when the voice spoke again. “Come on, Sora. I thought that with time with Stark, you would have gotten smarter.”

“Learning things from a genius and applying what he, or rather JARVIS, taught me are different things” Silver retorted. “But that’s not important right now, Riku. What are you doing? How’s Kairi? Where…” Black Heart then cut him off.

“I don’t have much time. This spell is unstable, so I need to be brief and to the point.” A deep breath was heard. “Some time after we had began to properly chart many of the worlds, the Organization captured us. It was there, we learned of Sombra and him reforming the Organization, as well as my lineage. We were imprisoned for about a month before we escaped, or possibly let free. We were free for about another month before Maleficent captured us. She did what she could to keep us captured, including destroying the Gummi Ship.”

“We were imprisoned for yet another month. I just recently was able to escape in a stolen fighter ship. I then began to more frantically search for home, to the point that I began diving into the Realm of Dreams to try and pinpoint Equestria. That’s how I sensed this trap and recognized a link between you and Twilight.”

“So now what?” Silver asked.

“Since I’ve managed to lock onto your sister’s dreams, I’ll alter my course for Equestria. I don’t know how long that will take and I won’t be able to communicate with you except through your sister.”

“I could make finding Equestria and communicating easier,” Silver said as he pulled his device. “I managed to contact Tony and he should be sending me some blueprints for a computer, a beacon, and a signal booster.”

“Okay, now...Sora...losing...break...soon…” The orb then vanished. Everypony was tense and worried about Black Heart. So tense that when Silver’s device went off, everypony except Silver jumped. He looked over the device and then smiled.

“Stark has excellent timing, and he went the extra mile,” he said.

“What do you mean?” Twilight asked. Silver went to answer, but Twilight cut him off. “Argh, Nevermind! Let’s just get some rest and talk about it tomorrow! I’m tired from all of this.”

“Twilight. You’ve been asleep this entire time,” Flash pointed out. “You shouldn’t be tired.” Twilight’s magical aura gripped his ear harshly.

“Everypony go!” Twilight ordered. She turned to Flash, who was wincing in pain from his ear being pulled. “As for you, we need to talk.” Everypony, save Flash and Twilight, left the room. The awkward silence in the group was broken by Silver .

“I wonder what they're going to talk about.” Shining’s eyes widened and Princess Luna tried to hold back a few giggles. “What?”

“Let's just get some proper rest before we even think of wondering what their talk is about,” Shining responded, eliciting a short lived laugh from Luna. Luna walked away to the throne room while Shining walked off with a bit of an awkward smile.

Silver could only stand in the hallway with confusion written on his face. “Either my adoptive mom or Stark forgot to tell me something about something, or maybe it’s something I don’t know about Equestria.”
