Shadows, All That They Seem?by Shadow LeaperChaptersTransportChangeA Second ChanceThe Old World (Prologue)TransportChapter 1: Transport. As Vincent lay asleep in his bed, there were other, shall we say, forces awake. He didn't know it yet, but his life had made a turn that he will soon find out there is no way back from. As he began to wake up, he started his morning routine. Take a leak, wash his hands, brush his teeth, and get dressed. Vincent was finally ready to take on the day ahead, or so he thought. He walked out of his apartment, and headed for the store. He wasn't paying attention, so on his way there, he made a wrong turn. He walked down the alleyway, but finally payed attention when he realized that he went the wrong way. He turned around, but someone was blocking the exit. He walked the other way, but the same thing happened. "Going somewhere?" Said one of the people at the end. They kept walking towards him, and the closer they got, the more nervous Vincent became. "Please, let me go!" Said Vincent. The people looked at each other, and then they began laughing. Vincent was still nervous, and their laughing didn't help. "Leave me alone!" Yelled Vincent, in hopes of getting someone's attention for help, but to no avail. The muggers kept laughing. One looked right at Vincent and stopped laughing. "Or what, you'll hurt us?" Said the mugger. Then he started laughing again. After what seemed like forever, one of the assailants pulled out a gun. "Give us all your money." He said. Vincent pulled out his wallet and threw it to them. "Now let me go." Said Vincent. The assailants just laughed again. Vincent became more and more confused. "You ain't going nowhere." Said one of the assailants. He pulled his gun back out and pointed it right at Vincent's face. Before Vincent could even react, the mugger pulled the trigger. Vincent was bleeding, and nobody came to help him. Vincent Summer died on June 28, 2015 at 7:59 A.M. The funeral was held the following week. During the funeral something that can only be classified as supernatural happened. Moments before the casket was lowered... Cries could be heard, from both friends and family. Some were in denial that Vincent was dead. Others were too sad to even form full sentences. As the casket was being lowered into the ground, a buzzing noise could be heard. The noise continuously got louder and louder. Eventually it was impossible to ignore. The casket was finally in the ground, but before they could fill the grave, something incredible happened. The ground shook, the sky turned blood red, and the casket slowly rose out of the ground. As it rose, a bright light appeared above it. Before the casket could reach it, it opened, and Vincent's body rose out of it and into the light. After he was fully through it, the light disappeared and Vincent was gone. Location: Canterlot, Equestria. "Your Highness, something is not right in the world. I believe something will change soon, and most likely, not for the better." Said one of Celestia's mages. "What is it that you see, mage?" Said Princess Celestia. She was curious as to what was wrong, seeing as the mages only inform her when there is something wrong with the universe. This worried her. "We are unable to figure that out, only that it will happen at some point today, and somewhere in Canterlot." Said the mage. "Thank you, you are dismissed." Said Celestia. And with that, the mage left. Celestia got up from her throne and paced around. She then left to her study and got a piece of parchment and an inkwell. Ponyville, Equestria. "Twilight, I don't understand why you need a chunk of citrine." Said Spike, Twilight Sparkle's dragon assistant. "For studying, Spike. I am going to study how it reacts to different kinds of magic." Said Twilight Sparkle, personal student of Princess Celestia, ruler of Equestria. Just then, Spike belched. Out of the smoke was a piece of parchment. Twilight grabbed it with her magic, and opened it. She then read it aloud. "Dear Twilight Sparkle, I require you and your friends in Canterlot immediately. Please bring the Elements of Harmony. A chariot is on its way to pick everypony up. ~Signed, Princess Celestia." Twilight finished reading and looked at Spike. "I'll go get everypony, you stay here and watch for the chariot." Said Twilight. Spike nodded, and Twilight ran to get her friends. One hour later. Throne room, Canterlot. Twilight and her friends just walked into the throne room. "I can see you are all wondering why I have called you here." Said Princess Celestia. They all nodded in confirmation. "One of my mages has told me something, most likely bad, will happen at some point today, somewhere in Canterlot."Said Celestia. "What are we dealing with, Princess?" Said Twilight. "I'm afraid that I do not know, Twilight." Said Celestia. Twilight was about to say something else when something crashed through a stained window. Everypony looked but couldn't see because there was too much dust. When the dust cleared, they saw a body. It wasn't a pony, but something that was completely unknown to them. Twilight walked up to it, and checked its pulse. Nothing. "It isn't breathing, I think it might be dead." Said Twilight. All of the sudden, the Elements of Harmony started to glow. Soon Twilight and her friends were floating and glowing. They shot a beam of rainbow light at the thing, and when it impacted, there was a blinding light, so bright even Celestia looked away. When the light went away, Twilight walked up to the thing, and checked its pulse again. There was a faint heartbeat, but it was going out slowly. "Get it to a hospital, there is a heartbeat." Said Twilight. End of chapter 1. Change"Wh-Where am I?" Said Vincent. He tried opening his eyes, but there was a bright light, so he close them and rubbed them. "What the hell?" Said Vincent. When his eyes finally adjusted, he opened them and looked around. What he saw almost made him faint. "I'm dead, aren't I?" Said Vincent. "Far from it, actually!" Said a voice. Vincent looked in the direction of the voice, and well, he fainted. About an hour or so later... "What the hell just happened?" Asked Vincent. He opened his eyes, and saw that he wasn't imagining anything. Standing in front of him was THE PRINCESS MOTHERFUCKING CELESTIA! He almost fainted again, but pushed through it this time. "Are you who I think you are?" Said Vincent. "Who is it that you think I am?" Said Celestia. She wondered who and what this creature is. "Y-You're Princess Celestia, ruler of Equestria, sister of Princess Luna." Said Vincent. Celestia's eyes widened, mostly out of surprise. "Impressive. Now how do you know my sister?" Asked Celestia. Vincent looked over to the 6 other ponies in the room. "Uh... Can you ask them to leave?" Said Vincent. Celestia looked to Twilight and nodded, and Twilight nodded back. Twilight and her friends left the room. "Now, tell me how you know of me and my sister." Said Celestia. She had a hint of concern in her voice, along with worry and wonder. "Uh... I'm not sure how to explain it." Said Vincent. He wasn't sure if telling them that they were a TV show was the smartest idea. "Ok, have it your way." Said Celestia. "Let's play a game, shall we?" Asked Celestia. This confused and worried Vincent, but he played along. "Fine, how do we play?" Said Vincent. "The rules are simple. Each person gets to ask one question. The other person must answer with complete honesty. When the person is done answering the question, they get to ask a question." Said Celestia. Vincent deemed it fair enough. And with that, they started. "You can start, seeing as you are a guest." Said Celestia. Vincent nodded. "Ok, um. Oh! How old are you?" Asked Vincent. This surprised Celestia. She thought he would ask something far less personal, but rules are rules. "Hm, i am not entirely sure. I lost count after 10,000." Said Celestia. All Vincent could manage was a simple 'Woah.' "My turn." Said Celestia. "What are you?" Asked Celestia. "I am a human." Said Vincent. This time Celestia showed no emotion. "My turn." Said Vincent. "Uh. How were you proclaimed royalty? Born, or appointed?" Asked Vincent. "I was born into it, and i have ruled over my little ponies since then." Said Celestia. "Now then, are you here for good or evil intentions? Said Celestia. Vincent looked surprised that she was uncertain of his placement here. "I thought you would know why I was here. Last I knew, I had been in my world, dead." Said Vincent. Celestia was confused as to how he could be alive now if he was dead before. "I thought something like this might happen, so I had made a plan. If you were not a threat, then I would have to turn you into a pony." Said Celestia. Vincent was excited about this. He could finally live his dream of being a pony in Equestria. "Speaking of which, What race do you want to be? I cannot make you into and alicorn, as that would be out of my jurisdiction, and would go against all rules of magic." Said Celestia. Vincent already knew what he wanted to be. "I would like to be a pegasus. If you could, can i get a black mane, spiked back, and black fur. As black as the night itself." Said Vincent. "You seem to have thought this out before." Said Celestia. Then she closed her eyes, and her horn glowed. Moments later, Vincent was in great pain. A bright light appeared around him. A few minutes later the light cleared. On the ground lay a jet black pegasus. Vincent woke up, but ad trouble standing up. Celestia gave him room to walk around and get used to his new body. After he was used to it, Celestia spoke. "You have a new body, now you need a new name. What shall be your name?" Asked Celestia. Vincent didn't have to think long. He had a name in his head for a while. "Shadow Leaper." Said Vin- er, Shadow Leaper. "Shadow Leaper it is. Would you like to meet the one who will take care and study you?" Asked Celestia. Study him? Shadow was confused. He was more confused when the Princess whistled. A minute later, the 6 other ponies walked in. "Twilight, I would like you to meet Shadow Leaper. He will be your temporary roommate and you will study him." Said Celestia. Twilight was confused for a second, but nodded. "That is all, you may all leave now. A carriage is waiting for you at the gates. Have a safe trip." Said Celestia. "Oh, Twilight, if you could stay for a moment." Said Celestia. Twilight stayed, and Shadow followed the others. Minutes later, Twilight caught back up, and they started the flight to Ponyville. "Psst, hey." Said the blue one. She had a rainbow mane and tail. Rainbow Dash was her name. "I'm Rainbow Dash, but you can call me either Rainbow, RD, or Dash. When you get to Ponyville, how about i show you how to use those things." Said Dash, pointing to Shadow's wings. Shadow just nodded and faced forward. Shadow was looking forward to his new life. A second chance. End of Chapter 2. Starting next chapter, these will not be here to signify the end of a chapter, and it will be in first person, er, pony point of view. This is Shadow, signing out. (But staying logged in working on the next chapter) /)/)/) (Brohoof) A Second ChanceIf you didn't notice in the last chapter, I said this one would be in first person/pony POV. Good luck. It took about 2 hours before we got to Ponyville. When we got there, we landed in front of Twilight's treebrary. Twilight bid everyone else goodbye, and led me in. Oh! I also have decided to not bring up anything about the show, and just pretend I know nothing about them, unless I'm talking to Princess Celestia or Princess Luna. Anyways, Twilight led me into her treebrary, then called for Spike. Spike came down, gave me a look, then sighed. I was honestly confused. "Another one, Twilight? I thought you were gonna give up after what happened before Princess Celestia sent you here." Said Spike. This confused me, and i guess me being here, well, may have effected what happens. I looked to Twilight for answers, but only saw her glaring at Spike while blushing, probably almost as red as Big Mac, or the red in Dash's mane. That was when I figured out what Spike meant, and i couldn't help but burst out laughing. Spike started laughing too. When we finished, Twilight was glaring at both of us. "I'll go upstairs. See ya." Said Spike. And with that, he left. Twilight turned to me. "Ugh. Let's go. I'll show you the guest room, which may be your semi permanent room." Said Twilight. She started walking up the stairs. I followed her to a room that was right next to hers. "By the way, I'm Twilight, if you didn't already know." Said Twilight. "I'm Shadow Leaper. But you can call me Shadow." I said. "Good night, Shadow." Said Twilight. After she said that, she left. I got settled in, and oddly enough, was out cold the moment i hit the bed. I woke up feeling refreshed. I didn't know where to go to use the bathroom, so i aimlessly walked around. I figured I would poke my head into each room and hope I get lucky. That was a mistake. The first door i opened and looked in was Twilight's room. I had figured she would be asleep, but I was wrong. She looked up from her book, looked at me, then to Spike, then she screamed and threw her book at me. I ran and went back to my room. I could just hold it in, you know? Later on, I realized there was a bathroom next to the closet. How I didn't notice that before, I don't know. I went in, and that was when Twilight decided to come check on me. I was in the bathroom at the time, so when she couldn't find me, she looked everywhere. I was almost done when i realized that the door was opened, and Twilight was looking at me with a blush. Now it was my turn to scream, so i grabbed the closest object and threw it. Turns out Twilight kept a few potions in the guest bathroom. I may have accidentally turned her to stone. I finished up, what? It's not like i was just going to stop peeing? Anyways, I finished, and i reached to all the potions, and I realized, I had no idea what the said. I can't read Equestrian. I grabbed the one I thought was next to the stone potion, and luckily, it was the correct potion. I poured a bit on Twilight's head so she could breath and talk. "What the HELL!" Yelled Twilight. "You walked in on ME while i was PISSING!" I yelled. It was her fault. "Ugh. Whatever, just pour the rest on me so I can move." Said Twilight. I thought of something that might work better. "Uh, Twilight. Wouldn't it be more efficient to drink a bit so it can get into your system?" I said. Twilight was about to say something, then her face turned to shock. "Oh. My. Celestia! That might be one of the most genius things i've ever HEARD!" Yelled Twilight. So, I poured a bit in her mouth, and almost a minute later, she was free. She got up, hugged me, remembered what happened earlier, and slapped me. "What was that for!" I yelled, confused why she slapped me. "That was for walking in and interrupting my reading time and Spike's sleep time." Said Twilight. "I would slap you for walking in on me peeing, but you're a girl. I don't hit girls." I said. "Let's just forget any of this happened. You've got a big day, mostly with Rainbow." Said Twilight. Rainbow? What was I going to do wi-. Oh! Flying lessons. Right. "Well, alright then. I really want to use these." I said, looking at my wings. Anyways, before I went to fly with Dash, I had to meet up with all of Twilight's friends. Fluttershy was, let's say, too timid to meet me right then. AJ, as she wanted me to call her, was less farm sounding than the show makes her seem. She mostly only says 'Y'all', 'Ahm', and 'Sugarcube.' Pinkie was, Pinkie. Rarity was more concerned about what i should wear. I will say this though. Rainbow was the coolest, and most upbeat pony, other than Pinkie of course, to greet me. She was a bit cocky, but that was understandable. I don't want to say what happened when we went back before flight lessons, mainly because i fell. A lot. My face has hit the ground more times in one hour in this world, than in my whole other world. It was embarrassing to say the least. But when Pinkie saw me, she walked over and fell a lot to, so everyone else thought it was a game. Thank god for that. The Old World (Prologue)The Old World "Why is it that all I can think about is 'Shadow Leaper?' said Vincent Summer, an 18 year old brony, part of the local "Brony Association." Now, Vincent was and average teen, except that he was a brony. He was talking to his friend, Jennifer Santiago. She always goes by the name Jenny though. She was very open minded when he 'came out of the stable,' as she called it. "I have no idea, but whatever it is, I also do not care." Said Jenny. She gave Vincent a look of pure boredom. He scowled at her, and she finally stopped looking so bored. "What if it is a sign, maybe a long gone ancestor, or maybe you are just going crazy." She said with a smirk. Vincent wasn't amused. He paced back and forth, and Jenny was starting to get dizzy watching him. Later that night... "I don't understand this at all! Why can't I think about anything else!" Said Vincent. He laid in his bed in his apartment. As he was laying down, he heard a buzz. It kept getting louder and louder, and Vincent couldn't figure out what it was. Then he realized what it was and face palmed. He picked up his phone. "Hello?" Said Vincent. No answer. "Hello?" Still nothing. Vincent hung up the phone. "Probably a prank caller." Said Vincent. What he didn't realize was that it was a radio transmission for elsewhere. The transmission was intercepted by his phone. End of Prologue... Next up! Chapter 1!

Next up! Chapter 1!
