Special Agent Avery Buck slouched in the seat of his 2015 Ford Mustang GT, after awhile he looked up and scanned the insides of his car. He saw multiple speeding cars zoom past him in a blur, dodging traffic with pedestrians starting in awe. He knew the Run had began by the influx of speeding cars and was just waiting for his handler to give him the go ahead. He had been assigned to the Run two months prior and his entry had been paid for by the agency to hunt down a notorious offender. Winning wasn't an objective for him, bringing down the criminal and as many street racers as possible was. And he aimed to accomplish it.
Buck straightened himself from the seat, grabbed the car keys and inserted them into the ignition, turning the car on. As soon as it came to life, his handler began to speak to him through the communication device implanted in his upper left neck. "Agent Buck, are you ready for this?"
“I'm golden,” Buck replied with a slight enthusiasm in his voice. “Let's get this party started.”
He started to pull his car out from its parking spot. The car surged forward onto the streets of San Francisco, almost being hit by a speeding Russian Gaz as he pulled out.
Buck thought to himself about the types of cars that he had seen entering the Run, but his train of thought were cut short by his Handler
“There’s over two hundred other drivers, and three thousand miles of road between you and New York. If your cover is blown at anytime we will pull you out of the Run.”
“I won’t.” There was firmness in his voice
“Whatever you say, Buck.” He imagined his handler rolling her eyes as she said so. “You’re up now. Get to Nob Hill or you’ll miss the race.”
And with that, Buck shifted his Mustang’s gears and speed off towards Nob Hill.
Rein Ojapark drifted around a corner in his Nissan 200sx and onto the street that turned into Nob Hill, barely managing to avoid a car. He speed up towards Nob Hill, fighting gravity as he went up. His police scanner was buzzing with radio chatter. Luckily he hadn't run into any of those pigs yet, but from the sounds of it things were about to get a whole lot interesting.
“Echo Two-One here, got a large number of exotic cars in the area. Is there a ten-twenty two scheduled?”
“Negative, how many cars?”
“I got at least fifty with more rolling in.”
“Coordinating units, standby”
As Rein speed down the street, he saw a cable car coming down the street. He applied his brakes and swerved to avoid it. After avoiding the cable car, he applied pressure to the gas pedal and accelerated once more down the street, avoiding traffic as he went. The cops were getting wiser to the event, Reins checked back his police scanner.
“Okay yeah, this is definitely some kind of street race. Pull backup as soon as you can.”
“Copy that, multiple units already enroute.”
As Reins drifted onto Nob Hill and sped toward the starting line—pinpointed on his tablet issued to every racer who entered the Run—he came upon an intersection and two police Crown Vics speeding across. However, they hadn't notice Reins and for that he was thankful. He brought his Nissan up to over 100 MPH, and as he came upon the starting line, multiple vehicles drifted in front him of claiming their positions in the Run. When Reins came just behind the other cars across the starting line, his position in the race came up on his tablet. He ignored it and went flying down Nob Hill.
His police scanner started picking up chatter again.
“Uh, this situation is heating up! Where’s that backup?”
“We’re enroute. Hold tight, Two-one.”
“Affirmative on that Ten-Eighty One, standing by.”
Kelly had just crossed the starting line a few minutes ago and was currently speeding along San Francisco's streets in his 2014 Shelby GT500 Super Snake. Behind him, Kelly saw those boys in blues pulling pit maneuvers on the other racers. He had just turned onto a road infested heavily with traffic, causing him to slam his brakes. As his car came to a stop, Kelly’s girlfriend and racing guide, Emma Rush, messaged him from the Run issued tablet
"Kelly, you've got to get to Vegas in the top one-fifty"
“Got it,” Kelly said as he put the Shelby into reverse.
Then his police scanner came to life.
“Where the hell are all these guy’s coming from?!”
“Three-Two is down! Requesting EMT!”
“Dispatch, we’re moving in for the bust.”
“The Chief just ordered a full containment. I want all major roadways shutdown now!”
And again Emma, with urgency in her voice, started messaging Kelly. “They're shutting down the city, Kelly. You got to get out now!”
“I know, I know!” Kelly turned around, took a left from where he had stopped which put him back onto the track's route. As he speed down the road, putting the Shelby to it's limits, two police cruisers speed out of an alleyway, swerving onto his side of the road and gave pursuit. Kelly swerved in and out of traffic, with the police cruisers staying on his trail. Speeding down the road, Kelly noticed a shopping center that cut onto a road and led to an on ramp of the San Francisco Bay Bridge.
“Code sixes are taking over the streets. We need traffic control now!”
“Copy that, setting up containment grid now, standby”
Kelly noticed the police chatter was getting frantic, but that didn't stop the two police cruisers until he drifted into a shopping center, causing one of the cruisers to crash into a store. The other cruiser slammed on it's brakes and proceeded to check on the other cruiser.
With Kelly’s pursuers now shaken off, he let out a sigh of relief and sped toward the San Fransisco Bay Bridge.
Vincent and Ellen in their Jaguar F-Type R were in a battle with a big golden truck, multiple cops were on their tail. While the pair were smashing bumpers and scraping spoilers against mysterious driver in the truck, they had noticed the driver wore an all black jumpsuit and yellow helmet. This gave both of them the shivers as they drove on.
They were putting the vehicles through their paces, dodging traffic as they drove and with the cops in close pursuit. Both of them were headed toward Nob Hill. When they drifted around a turn that lead to the top of Nob Hill, the yellow truck spun out of control as it got rammed by a police cruiser. Vincent smiled, shifted gears and accelerated towards the starting line, behind him the police cruisers tried to stay on his tail. However, on the straightaway of Nob Hill, they couldn't keep up. They lost sight of Vincent once he went flying down Nob Hill as they drifted towards the route leading to the San Fransisco Bay Bridge onramp. Cop chatter now could be heard from his police scanner.
"Multiple targets in view. Alpha Two-One, are you clear for backup?"
“Uh, negative. Code three. In pursuit of a black Bugatti Veyron.”
“All units be advised, we’ve got reports of code sixes with police scanners. Keep all roadblocks off the air.”
Ellen turned to face Vincent as he put the Jaguar into another gear.
“Vincent, head for the bridge.”
“Where do you think I've been heading this entire time?” Vincett replied with his usual disdain.
Ellen rolled her eyes, and grabbed some food from the back of the car. After driving for a solid 5 minutes, Vincent and Ellen came up upon the San Fransisco Bay Bridge and put the car into it's highest gear and hitting the car’s top speed in no time. He dodged and weaved through traffic, watching other racers do the same. He took a glance at his rearview mirror and saw a Bugatti Veyron catching up with him.
“Well, looks like I have some competition after all,” Vincent thought to himself while keeping his eyes on the road.
Vincent and Ellen came upon the Yerba Buena Tunnel connecting both parts of the Bridge. The Veyron caught up just as they entered the tunnel and pulled up to Vincent's side of the Jaguar. Vincent looked over at the man in the Veyron after what felt like moments and then focused back on the road.
Ellen had her face buried in the tablet looking over it for information, and when she found what she was looking for she looked up towards Vincett. “The tablet says the guy’s name is Valerian. It doesn't give a last name though.”
“How come?” Vincent asked.
“No clue.”
As they came out of the tunnel, the Veyron broke pace and veered left into what appeared to be a construction site. Vincent pulled in behind the Veyron and bypassed the traffic congestion they had narrowly avoided at the same time.
The police scanner was getting even more clogged with police officers requesting back up.
"Units coming in from other districts, standby."
"Heads up, got a custom buggy out of control here."
Suddenly, Valerian went flying into the air after jumping off the end of the construction site. Vincent nor Ellen had not noticed the ramp when they were drafting with the Valerian. Both of them were going too fast to slow down now and went flying off the bridge with Valerian,
Him and Ellen both began screaming. “Holy shit!!!”
They landed with a hard thud and looked around to find they had landed on solid concrete. The Veyron in the meantime sped off, leaving them both behind. Vincent regained his composure and speed off after a what appeared to be a car from Speed Racer had jumped from the bridge and past them.

Patricia Alexandrov was focusing hard on the road ahead. She had finally regained her position in the Run as she finally caught up to a pack of racers in her custom made Warthog after her foul up in San Francisco.
Patricia and the group were doing one hundred and ten down a road leading towards Altamont Pass. She dodged traffic that had been cropping up more and more as they neared the mountain path. She maneuvered and forced her way through the pack using her truck's size and weight to her advantage.
As she took the lead of the pack, an older model Crown Victoria that had been following her ever since she escaped the police crackdown in San Francisco pulled up behind her. She shifted gears, the Warthog picked up it's pace and left the Crown Victoria in behind in the dust.
Within the moment of leaving the old pack of racers, she came up behind another group of racers. The group of vehicles zoomed down the road doing an excess of one hundred miles per hour. The road began to start curving every so often, but curves didn't serve to slow them down as they were minor turns. After the pack of racers turned onto Altamont Pass, most of the cars activated their nitrous oxide systems, leaving Patricia and a HSV GTS behind.
Patricia entered into a head on head battle with the blue HSV GTS trying to pass him and gain another position in the Run. They came upon a slightly sharp curve that went right with a shortcut which led to a dirt road just before the turn. Patricia gained enough speed to hit her e-brake and drifted around the front of the GTS and onto the dirt path, forcing the HSV GTS to apply its brakes and fall in behind her. The GTS followed her into the dirt road in retaliation for the cut off. As they hit a bump and jumped across the road and onto another dirt path that drove down the road of someone's farm, a sawed-off shotgun popped out of the passenger window of the GTS and began to fire flechette rounds at Patrica, the shots missing inches away from where her Warthog was and feeling the shots whizz past her.
“Fucking cunts!” she yelled. “Let's see how you like this, eh!” She slammed on her brakes, causing the GTS to crash into her rear end before the passenger could fire off another shot. The truck and Patricia were unfazed from the rear ending, the people in the GTS however wasn’t. They were stunned from the collision.
A buggy she passed earlier on her way from San Francisco had just sped past her. Patricia noticed she had dropped quite a bit down on the leaderboard and put the car back into gear in response and sped off after the buggy and the group of racers that had left her in the dust earlier.
Rowan Ingeniare was fighting tooth and nail to keep his position on the straight ways of Altamont Pass in his Tesla Model S which only topped out at around 130 miles per hour. To his front was a weirdly colored Nissan 200sx, behind him were multiple cars and a hopped up Charger that were gaining on him rapidly even as he did his best to maintain his speed.
Earlier a black Bugatti Veyron had passed him. Rowan didn't even try to stop the Bugatti from passing as the car was doing at-least two hundred miles per hour down the Pass. Rowan eventually lost site of the Nissan who had taken an off road route. Eventually he had arrived at an overpass and topped his Tesla out at a hundred and thirty miles per hour going across it and then turning left with the road as soon as he started driving past all the grassy hills.
An off road Charger and 2015 Mustang GT had finally caught up with him, thundering loudly behind him as Altamont Pass and Interstate 580 merged. On the merge, the Charger passed Rowan without issue when he almost slammed into traffic which Rowan and his car's AI detection system failed to notice, causing Rowan to slow down and apply his brakes to avoid a collision. The Mustang followed closely behind the Charger, drafting the vehicle as if he was hunting prey.
“Well shit,” Rowan thought to himself, “I still have a chance if I don't mess up again between here and Vegas.” He applied heavy pressure against the gas pedal and rapidly gained speed again, dodging traffic as he zoomed down the interstate. He glanced up at his rear-view mirror and saw another pack of racers with what appeared to be a golden truck from a video game he knew and a buggie leading the pack, approaching from behind him. Rowan grinned and floored it.
William J Haven was a battling a Gurkha RPV in his custom Rally Fighter for the 175th spot on the leaderboard after a McLaren F1 and a Bugatti Veyron zipped past him earlier. Traffic veered out of the two behemoths’ paths as they battled down the Interstate pushing their vehicles to around a hundred miles per hour. William was having trouble passing the RPV because of it's sheer size. Any time he attempted to pass the RPV, the driver would simply veer over to cut him off.
William slightly applied pressure to his brakes and throttled it once the RPV completely passed him. He sped right up behind it, waiting for the right moment to break the draft and slingshot past the RPV. William normally should have been able to zip past the RPV but was kept below optimal speed to do so by the behemoth of a truck blocking him. William relied on his plan to drift behind the RPV and slingshot past him.
After William and the RPV jumped down a hill, William broke off from tailing the RPV and used the speed from the drift to slingshot past the RPV before the driver had a chance to cut him off again. William looked over at the driver of the RPV for merely a moment before he focused back on the road.
William was content with his current position and knew the RPV wouldn't be able to catch up with him. William shifted into the next gear and sped down Interstate 580 like a maniac.

Collin who for a fifty three year old was speeding down Interstate 580 with relative ease in his Black 2016 Camaro after a 2014 Shelby Super Snake that had just past him a few moments ago., traffic had been doubled tremendously ever since they exited Altamont Pass and came onto Interstate 589, Collin bobbed in and out of traffic after the Shelby gaining on the car inch by inch. Two minutes had passed of driving down the road after the Shelby. The Interstate began to lightly turn left, causing the Shelby ahead of Collin to slow down from the increased traffic on the turn, and allowing a Collin a spare second to catch up. Collin took his foot of the gas for a second allowing his Camaro to slow down and fall in behind the Shelby who had just gotten out of the group of traffic and onto another straight away, when the Shelby increased its speed, Collin shifted his gears up increasing his speed with the Shelby and drafting behind it, keeping up.
It had been several minutes of Collin drafting behind the Shelby as they dodged traffic and sped down the Interstate at break neck speeds. Collin nor the Driver in the Shelby were showing signs of backing down., Collin broke his draft from the car ahead as him and the Shelby drove under multiple over passes that darkened the road. After breaking the draft Collin overtook the Shelby with relative ease, but after a relative short moment the drafting effect had worn off and the Shelby was right back up next to Collin, Collin looked over at the Driver of the Shelby whose face had looked dumbfounded when he noticed who was in the Camaro, it also appeared that he was speaking to someone in his car. They nodded at each other, and after a brief moment of staring, Collin looked forwards at the Interstate ahead before he veered away from the Shelby, effectively avoiding a pocket of traffic that was about to make life difficult.
As Collin speedily drove under another underpass, the Shelby had activated its nitrous system and zoomed off. When Collin approached the Shelby he shifted into his next gear, that brought the Camaro up to one-hundred and ninety miles per hour, and caught up with the Shelby after the boost from it's nitrous oxide system wore off. The asphalt was zooming past at blistering speed, a blur of black and white paint. The vehicular gladiators battled for the third time within the same hour on that same battleground, they sped past traffic and wind farms and eventually came upon a large off ramp that a large amount of traffic was using to get off the interstate. That helped to clear the road up considerably, but not completely.
Without as much traffic Collin and the Shelby were able to gain considerable speed, the wind outside buffeting their windshields. While they zoomed down the road it began to veer left, a wall of slow moving traffic appeared at the end of the turn, this forced Collin to slam on his brakes, but the Shelby, instead of also braking, drifted towards the right of the Interstate and drove off into the dirt, an action which allowed the Shelby to bypass the traffic completely. When it returned to the Interstate it zoomed off down the road and out of Collin’s. The driver knew time was being wasted as he was stuck sitting on his ass stopped behind the traffic. He became so annoyed that he followed the example of the Shelby, Collin gunned it off the freeway and onto the dirt, cutting off the traffic behind him and earning him plenty of angry honks. The dirt was surprisingly firm and dry, this allowed Collin to gain a slight amount speed. He completely bypassed the wall traffic with a speed happy grin before he came back onto the Interstate.
Collin drove as fast as his car would let him, booking it down the interstate in hot pursuit of his opponent. After driving what felt like half an hour, was actually just ten minutes, he could barely see the Shelby ahead of him as it drifted around a turn. With that, Collin sped off towards his foe, hoping to overtake him by time he arrived at Yosemite National Park.
