Servants of Equestria
The Journey Begins
Load Full Story"I'm just saying Twilight," Spike said, riding on Twilights back, casually flipping through his comic. "you're a princess now, you should be allowed to have a few servants." Twilight rolled her eyes, slightly annoyed they were having this conversation again. The two were currently walking through Ponyville market, shopping for a few things for dinner. "I mean, imagine how cool it would be to have someone cook for you, and clean for you,...
"And do all your chores?" Twilight asked, her eyebrow raised slightly.
"Yeah-Uh, I-I mean, um..."
Twilight chuckled slightly at the young dragon. " Spike, I already told you. I just don't feel comfortable having someone waiting on me hoof and hoof. I am capable of handling myself. And, I got you!" Spike didn't say anything, but looked rather annoyed as he kept reading. The two continued shopping until Spike spotted something out of the corner of his eye.
"Don't look now Twilight, but I think you have an admirer." The young princess turned around to see a middle-aged stallion staring curiously at her flank. Twilight gave the Stallion an annoyed look as he continued to stare. "Uh, excuse me sir?" Twilight said."Its not polite to stare at a mares Hindquarters." The stallion snapped out of his trance and smiled sheepishly at her.
"Uh, s-sorry miss, but uh, quick question: Is your cutiemark supposed to be shining like that?"
Twilight quickly looked down at her flank to see her cutiemark indeed shimmering. " Ohmygosh, the map!" she gasped. quicker then anyone would think possible, she dashed back to the castle, a surprised Spike clinging to her for dear life. The stallion watched as they ran down the road. With a shrug, he walked away...
...right into his girlfriend, who was glaring daggers at the poor stallion. "...oh Buck me..."
Later...
Twilight was literally brimming with excitement. She has wanted to use the map for ages, finally be able to go somewhere. To do something in another part of Equestria. Currently, She was seated in her seat in the main room of the palace, waiting to see who else the map called. She was literally hopping up and down in her seat from exitement. Spike sat sideways in his chair next to her, still engrossed in his comic book. So the two sat there and waited...
And waited...
And waited some more...
Finally, after a full twenty minutes, Spike spoke up, "I don't think anyone else is coming Twilight." Twilight couldn't help but seem a bit confused. The map has never called upon only one pony before, so why now? "Well it doesn't matter." she said. " lets see where the map wants me." Stepping forward, An image of her cutie mark suddenly appeared on the map over Ponyville. It Floated away from there, going over a large field, past a harbor town, over a large body of water, over a fiery volcano, and stopping at a town clear across Equestria. As it made its journey, it left a purple line in its wake, showing a specific route to go.
Both Spike and Twilight Stared at it for a moment in surprise. "But that's...That's on the edge of Equestria!" Spike exclaimed Why would the map send you there?"
"Im not sure Spike," Twilight said, looking closely at the map. "But it looks like it wants me to go a specific route. Its never done that before."
"Twilight, your not really going this alone, are you? I mean, this will take you days, maybe weeks on hoof. Can't you just, I don't know, take a chariot there instead?" Twilight shook her head.
"No, Spike if the map wanted me to take a chariot, it wouldn't have made this. Maybe its not just the destination this time, but the journey."
"...That sounded really corny, Twilight," Spike quickly shook his head. "But what about camping? And food? the last thing we need is you starting a forest fire because you cant cook a pair of eggs properly."
"...I'm going to pretend I didn't hear that." Twilight turned to look straight at Spike. "Look Spike, I know your worried about me. I understand. But you need to under stand that the map needs me. That village could be in grave danger that only I can help them. I'm a full grown mare and I can take care of myself. I promise I'll be careful out there, okay?"
Knowing that there would be no reasoning with the mare, Spike solemnly nodded his head. "Good, now help me find a map. I want to jot down this route before I leave."
Little did Twilight know was that she would not be alone during her journey. She would meet many strange creatures on her quest, each one with even stranger talents...
Elsewhere...
In a busy tavern, a strange creature enters, causing everyone to stop what they were doing and stare at it. She casually makes her way over to the owner behind the bar, and leans over the counter. "What do you have to eat in this joint?" She asks in a feminine voice.
The bartender eyes her suspiciously. "That depends, what do you want?"
He gave him a wicked smile. "Everything..."
Two creature stand atop a large fort. One has his hand over his eyes, blocking out the sun. The other has his hand over his ear, as if he was listening for something.
A crows gathers over a creature currently submerged I water, wondering if the poor creature will ever come up for air. Some believing it is already drowned.
A tall creature walks across the ocean, as if it were nothing but a child's wading pool.
Another sits at the very edge of a volcano, shivering, desperate to get warm.
And a small tiny creature sits upon a small rock, her eyes blindfolded. she acts as if she doesn't have a care in the world. So long as she doesn't lift her blindfold...
