Shall We Dance? (TBNE)
It was a beautiful night in the even more beautiful city of Canterlot.The royal castle was empty ((and pretty much destroyed)) safe for the royal guard and two mares who were walking around the gardens.One of them was carrying a waggon with apples painted all over it, both of them carrying themselves, as they felt extremely heavy and tired after what happened an hour ago.There was still some music that could be heard, but it was mostly the two of them in the silence.
"What a night, huh?" Twilight commented, in order to break the silence.
"Ya can say that again.Granny´s gonna have to live with the pain on her back"
"You can always ask a doctor.........."
Applejack gave her a tired glare, as if she was saying You think I didn´t try that already?.The unicorn sighed
"Sorry"
"You have nothing to be sorry about, sugarcube, Ah´m the one who practically destroyed the ballroom." The earth pony chuckled "Lucky Ah´m friends with the princess´   friend cause, if not, Ah´d actually lost money as suppoused to get some"
The unicorn laughed back "I´m glad we´re friends too"
Applejack smiled "Yeah.Best friends."
"No matter what"
The mares kept walking, stealing glances every now and again.Even all sweaty, messy and beaten up, Rarity´s job showed in both of them and their beauty.The earth pony couldn´t help but smile.That smile soon banished as she recalled what Twilight had spent the whole week talking about.
"Sorry Ah ruined yerr night with" She knugged a little in the shoulder, thought there was little humor in her expression "You Know Who"
"Voldemare?"
"Who?"
"Just kidding, I know who you´re talking about.Don´t worry about it, I´ll see her again one way or another" She shrugged, or as much as she could shrug with injuries and the dress on the way  "There isn´t really a biggie on not seeing someone when you keep weekly letters with them"
"Really? Ah mean, this was your chance at a dance and..................."
That stopped Twilight in her tracks.Her expression was one of surprise, disturbed and stopping yourself from fainting.She slowly turned around to face her friend.
"Are you suggesting what I think you´re suggesting?"
Catching up to her mistake, the earth pony stammered, nervous "I-it´s just...................You seem to admire her so much and............And..........."
"SHE´S THE GODESS OF THE SUN AND THE SMARTEST PONY IN EQUESTRIA!" Wheter it was from annoyance of embarassment,the mare´s face had gone from lavender to red "Of course I admire her! But it´s not...................." She cringed "I mean Have you seen how she eats cake?"
The farmer raised an eyebrow "Um How would I?"
She rolled her eyes "My point being I don´t like Celestia. I really li..........................." She stopped herself.
"Yes?"
She made a gester of putting a zipper over her mouth and Applejack gave a small smile.
"Alright then, sugarcube, just relax" She recalled Pinkie´s retelling of how hard it was for Twilight to keep secrets and didn´t like it "Ah´ll make sure to tell Rarity she was wrong"
The unicorn broke down laughing "Yes please"
The laughter was so strong that Twilight Sparkle almost fell down but, then, the apple farmer took off her waggon and caught her in her whooves just in time.Their eyes met, amethyst with emerald. The earth pony chuckled "May Ah have this dance, lady?"
Had it been any other mare, Twilight would´ve asked The girls are waiting for us Shouldn´t we catch up? or maybe, she would´ve admitted I never slow-danced before but, since it was Applejack, she took her hoof, nodded and started dancing like her life depended on it.
"Girls What´s taking you so LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.......?" Pinkie Pie got in to see the two mares holding each other.
Upon being discovered, the farmer dropped the librarían on the floor, which made her shoot her a glare.
"We were just enjoying the music, Pinkie, sorry we took so......"
"It´s fine." The party pony assured her, smile beaming on her pink face.
Maybe, after all, it had  been the best night ever.
