Chapters Prologue: Adjusting to the New Time
Author's Note
Yes, the story is about Flash and his teammate Jack Nox. But this Prologue is actually about Luna return back to Canterlot. But there will be a little info about Flash Sentry and Jack Nox.
Prologue: Adjusting to the New Time
Princess Luna arrives back in Canterlot, after being gone for one thousand years. At first she wanted to find out more about the six that saved her? But her sister Princess Celestia told her that the truth about them will be revealed soon enough. So Luna no longer pestered about it.
Princess Luna soon entered the main Castle. The Castle was covered with luxurious marble, there was marble pillars topped with golden designs, and there was flags hanging from the ceiling. Luna was in awe of how the main castle had changed over the thousand years she had been gone. Celestia wanted Luna to find out all that happen while she was gone. "Sister I want you to see as much as you can, for you have a lot that you have missed since you been gone," said Princess Celestia with a lot enthusiasm to have her sister back.
"Wow, so this is the legendary Princess Luna, I am so happy to finally meet you," an unknown voice spoke from the distance,
Princess Luna looked in confusion as another Alicorn princess appeared. The Alicorn princesses was unknown to Princess Luna for she had originally assumed that her and Princess Celestia were the only two Alicorn princess left. "Who are thou," said Luna, as she approached the Alicorn. The Alicorn was not very tall and just by looking at her, Luna could figure out that this Alicorn was no full blood, so she had to be an Ascended Alicorn. The Alicorn had a pink coat and yellow, pink, and purple mane.
"Luna this is our niece, Princess Mi Amore Cadenza," said Celestia,
"Actually I prefer you call me Princess Cadence," said Cadence, as she did not like the Royal name that much.
"Our niece? are thou a descendant of our lineage, or our sister lineage," Luna said, leaving Cadence in confusion to the question, to which Princess Celestia quickly answered.
"Actually sister, she is not descended from either of our bloodlines, she is a descendant of our cousin, Golden William," said Celestia, as the three princess went to private chambers to talk.
"Oh Golden William, second son of King Emerald Teal, our uncle, well we guess it is good to meet thou, thou ancestor Golden William always had a big heart, that sometimes rivaled the lovingness of the previous wielder of the Crystal Heart," said Luna, as they entered the room,
"You knew the previous wielder of the Crystal Heart?" Cadence said, as they sat on pillows,
"Well yes....he..... was.... my....." Luna said slowly,
"Well actually Luna does not like to talk about him, too many painful memories," Celestia said quickly,
"Oh sorry, I forgot the stories," Cadence said,
"Stories?" Luna said in confusion,
"Yeah there have been several stories about the times you and Celestia had when you two ruled together," Cadence said,
"Is there any stories about the Crystal Heart, and it's wielder?" Luna said, with curiosity
"No not really, that’s why I ask you, because well my cutie mark is the Crystal Heart, so I have always wanted to know more about it," said Cadence.
"Well we are sorry it’s not the memory of him that we want to forget just how....his....life....ended," Luna said as tears started to form,
"Luna it is okay, that was over a thousand years ago," Celestia said, as she tried to calm her sister. Then Princess Celestia thought for a moment and then said something else to get things off subject, "Well enough of the past, how about some cake,"
"That a wonderful idea! Hey aunt Luna I have always wondered," said Cadence said with raised brow and smirk.
"What is it?" Luna said, as she cleared her eyes,
"Is you appetite for cake as big as aunt Celestia’s," Cadence said really fast,
"Cadence!! I don't have a big appetite for cake, I just like eating it," said Celestia with slight offence, to which Luna just giggled.
"No I don't have a large appetite for cake, but I do enjoy it, just not as much as ice cream," Luna said with another giggle.
"Oh, you like ice cream?" Cadence said,
They sent a servant to get some cake and some ice cream. Meanwhile they continued to talk.

Later Princess Luna left with Princess Celestia to see the Equestria Guard. While walking through the Equestria Guard living area, Luna could not help but noticed how there was no longer a Batpony Guard. There was a Pegasus Guard, a Unicorn Guard, and an Earth pony Guard, but no Batpony Guard.
With Princess Luna’s return, the Batpony Guard could now be reestablished. But new recruits were needed. Luckily there were already some batponies in the Canterlot armies. In particular, a powerful General named, Nightflare Redstar, and a Captain named, Brood Gem. But of course more was needed, so a call was sent out all across Equestria.

This caught the attention of adventure seeking, risk taking, batpony named, Jack Nox. A dark purple batpony, with green mane, and barcode cutie mark. Most thought it was crazy for him to join. Being that although he was beyond brilliant in knowledge; to the point that when he was young, his father got him into the best schools, where met some of the most brilliant young minds out there, like Twilight Sparkle and Moondancer; Jack Nox had only limited knowledge about battle.

With the Batpony Guard being reestablished. There was now need more recruits needed for the Pegasus Guard. So a call was sent out all across Equestria. This caught the attention of a Pegasus named Flash Sentry. He was a yellow Pegasus, with a blue mane, and a cutie mark of a shield with lightning going through it. Flash Sentry wanted in the Pegasus Guard, because he wanted to protect everypony.

Author's Note
This Chapter will be split into two points of view. Flash and Jack. For this Chapter mostly however I might bring it back in later chapters.
Chapter 1: New Transfers
Flash Sentry exited the train, and headed straight toward to the Grand Barrack, where registration was going on. The barracks filled with several applicants, some being accepted, others being denied. It was tough work to get into the Equestrian Guard. But Flash was willing to do the work.
He approached Guard Service Registration. There, was a stallion, very tall light blue earth pony named, High Stand. Flash walked up and presented his papers. "So Flash Sentry, you want to be a soldier, you know you don't look like a killer," said High Stand,
"Yes I know, but I can still be an excellent soldier sir," said Flash Sentry,
"Well can I see your background info, hmm, seem to match what we already have on file," said High Stand,
"They already have my files on record," said Flash, in confusion,
"Well the truth is we have all possible soldier's files on record, in case they want to join, and well your academy score record are quite high," said High,
"Well thank you sir," said Flash,
"I also see you have plenty of linguistic skills," said High,
"Yes I can speak in fifty-two different languages," said Flash,
"And can see you are highly a claimed weapons expected," said High,
"Yeah, I have experience wielding all kinds of weapons," said Flash,
"Well that could prove useful, you in, head over to Barrack A, to meet your new boss," said High Stand, as he stamped the files with the approved symbol.
"Oh thank you sir, I won't let the Pegasus Guard down," said Flash, as he took his papers and headed for Barrack A.

An unexpected cart pull up. It was a top of the line Blue Limo-Cart, encrusted in gold. The door opened and out forth stepped Jack Nox. A dark purple batpony, with green mane, and barcode cutie mark. Jack headed for the Grand Barrack to join the Batpony Guard, while everypony else was in awe of see such an expensive cart. A few of them even drop their jaws as if to the ground. "You might want to pick your jaws everypony," said Jack as he walked by.
Meanwhile his butler walked up behind him and said "Sir, your father will not like this,"
"My father doesn't seem to ever like my ideas, so what else is new," said Jack with a bit sarcasm in that last part,
"But sir, you have a business to get ready to run, you Father want you to succeed him soon," said the butler,
"Yeah, in three years, but until then I can do whatever I want, I want to prove I fight my own battles," said Jack, as reached the door to the Grand Barrack
"But Sir, if I don't you back I could get into some serious trouble," said the butler with a very worried look on his face,
"Don't worry I got a brilliant idea, here take this," Jack said as he turn back to the butler and pull out a bag of bits,
As butler grabbed it and looked inside, "Why sir this is over two thousand bits in here, I could not accept this,"
"Yes it is, think of it as a sorry, for this next part..... you're fired," said Jack as he turned back to the door,
"What!" said the butler who now in shock,
"Look it was either my father firing you or me firing you, but at least you got money with me, my father would had one of his "connections" make you disappeared.........I'm joking," said Jack, as he enter the Grand Barrack,
"About which part sir?" said the butler, who was now really confused, as the door closed,
Jack Nox went right up to Guard Service Registration. He walk up to High Stand, who apparently had a shock on his face on who of all ponies would walk but Jack Nox. "My good sir I would like to join the Batpony Guard, I believe you know who I am," said Jack Nox,
"Yes, I know who you are, Jack Nox, son of famously rich Norman Nox, CEO of Nox Corp., who happens to supply all our weapons," said High,
"Yes, that me, but I am hoping with my new job I can get recognized for something I did and not what my father did," said Jack,
"Well, sorry, as I said your father supplies us all our weapons, so-" said High, but then was interrupted,
"Weapons that I helped design might I add," said Jack, as he interrupted him,
"Still does not excuse the fact that if we let you join, we could not guarantee your safety, and that would not sit well with your father," said High,
Upon that moment Princess Luna walked in. High Stand instantly bowed to the Princess as she walked by. "Hello sir, how goes the recruitment," said Luna,
"Very good, in fact too well, as you see I was about to bar this one from joining," said High Stand, as he continued to bow while pointing at Jack Nox,
Princess Luna looked upon Jack Nox, notice instantly from his look and style, that he clearly had never see the bloodshed of war. But he however also had look that even though he had not seen war he had indeed seen sorrow. "What is thou's pain," said Luna,
To which Jack reacted strangely. He did not realize that she was analyzing him. So Jack slowly replied, "I have no pain your Majesty, I just simply want to prove myself,"
Princess Luna knew instantly that he was hiding something, but did not want to push to find out what, or why. Then Luna walked over to High Stand and said, "Sir, thou will allow this one to join as well,"
"You can't be serious you majesty," said High,
"Thou think we are not, then thou shalt see our true seriousness," said Luna, with an almost hiss in her voice,
"That will not be needed your majesty," said High Stand, as he quickly grabbed Jack's papers and stamped "approved". And then told Jack to head to Barrack B. Jack Nox headed that way as quickly as possible since he did not want to see the Princess's anger. However upon rushing out of there Jack Nox found himself crashing into a yellow Pegasus.

Author's Note
Now I said that Flash won't seeing or meeting the mane 6, but it doesn't mean that he would not run into others in Ponyville, that actually know him.
Chapter 3: The Forced Team-Ups
The two ponies board the train and head to Ponyville. The train ride was quiet as they sat there on the train, on opposites seats. Time passes while Flash Sentry and Jack Nox tried to figure out how they got pull into this. They were new recruits and they didn't even have battle training yet., let alone team training, and now they were forced to work together. They didn't even know each other that well, they had just barely met when this all went down. But now they could not worry about that, for this was a direct order from one of princesses, one of the co-rulers of Equestria.
Finally the train ride ended. The two ponies exit the train, and head in town. "Well it has not changed much in twelve years since I have been gone," said Flash. Just then a call went out, from a shop that resembled candy. As two pony walk over to meet the voice, and it was a tall yellow earth pony with orange hair.
"Well, do my eyes deceive me, Flash Sentry," said the tall pony,
"Mr.Cake, is that you," said Flash, with a bit happiness in his voice,
“What are you doing here? I haven't seen you since you were that little colt who was always trying to reach the cakes on the top shelf," said Mr. Cake,
"I am kind of on duty, as you can see I finally joined the Equestria Guard," said Flash, as he show off his armor. It was a golden armor devoid of any medals, since it was new. When without warning a pink flash that was to blurry to identify ran past all three of them.
"What was that?" said Jack, with both ponies left bewilder to what just happen.
"Well that was Pinkie Pie, she sort of live in the old guest room, actually she moved here just a year after you left town, and well she is an excellent party planner, and she had nowhere to live so me and my wife decided to let her stay with us," said Mr. Cake,
"Wow, you two are always so nice-" said Flash, but before he could finish,
Jack butted in, "Well, we sort of on a time table, so we better get going, so do you happen to know where the nearest farm is," said Jack, as the fact they were indeed on a timetable, for the basic fact, the princess wanted them back by nightfall.
"Jack, I actually know where the nearest farm is, I just got distracted that's all," said Flash, as looked annoyed with Jack not wanting be here that long. But at the same time Flash did not want to stay long in this town long either, since everything in the town reminded him of the past.
"Well, it sound like a soldier duty is never over, right, see you," said Mr. Cake, as the two ponies, left. They left and head for the nearest farm.
Flash seem to know the way like the back of his hoof, like he had walked it a hundred times. "So you mind telling me the name of this farm," said Jack, as they walked.
"It is called Sweet Apple Acres, I know and old friend there, but it has been away while since me and him last talked, strangely enough though if I remember correctly he never talked much anyway, but we will need to talk to him, if we are going to get any info on our target," said Flash, as they kept walking.
"Oh right, seem like we have got a plan, I just hope, the Princess has a back up plan," said Jack, as they kept moving.

Meanwhile back in Canterlot city, Princess Luna was doing that exact thing. Getting a back up plan ready, as she met with somepony she had been curious about since this morning, after hearing his name from Princess Cadence, and now she had an excuse to meet the Captain of the Unicorn Guard, and the coltfriend of Princess Cadence, Captain Shining Armor.
As Princess Luna entered the room where Shining Armor was at, she analysed him without him even realizing it. He seemed like a good and strong stallion. He was a white unicorn with a blue mane and a cutie mark that resembled one of the six that saved her from Nightmare Moon. He wore a purple armor with quite a few medals on it. Cadance had told Luna that he was the brother of Twilight Sparkle.
"Princess, is there a reason why I was called here?" said Shining Armor, as he did not know why he was summoned here, although he did suspect that obviously Princess Luna would want to know him, since he was dating Princess Cadance.
"We need thou to analyse this symbol," said Luna, as she showed him a drawing of the symbol that the target had drawn into the ground.
"Hmm, it appears to be a summoning spell of some sort, although not the one I have seen before. Why can't you identify it?" Said Shining Armor as he seemed to be just as confused by it's shape as she was.
But the truth was that Luna felt like she had seen the symbol somewhere before in the past and could have identified the spell herself. The basic fact that a lot of her memories of the past were still blurry. Her time as Nightmare Moon had done a number on her mind, and it hard to look back, and get the right memories without getting the bad memories to push to the surface.
"Sorry Captain, it’s just our memory is not what it use to be," said Luna,
"No need to be sorry Princess, it’s just I don't know why you call me to look at some old symbol," said Shining Armor,
"Well Captain, there is another reason why I called you here for," said Luna, as stood in the waiting for somepony else to arrive.
"So can I know the reason," said Shining Armor, as he wanted to figure it out quickly since he actually had a date with Cadence later today.
"I will tell you once your allies get here," said Luna,
"Allies, Princess?" said Shining Armor, as he got nervous about working with whomever she had in mind. He had no problem working with batponies, and he knew that it would indeed be batponies that he would be working with so that was not the problem. It was a certain Batpony that he had a problem with. And as it would turn out it was that certain one that just happen to walk in the room.
"Well hello, Shiny," said the Batpony that walked in. He was a violet red batpony, with a teal mane and bloody spike cutie mark. He wore blue armor line with bronze and always had a smell about it, like it was soaked in blood.
"Hello, Captain Brood Gem," said Shining Armor, with slight anger, that of all ponies he had to work with, it was the pony that had earned a terrifying nickname by all who had seen him fight in the warzone. And that nickname was the 'Vampire Bat of War'.

Flash and Jack make their way to home Gando Donsan. But when they get there they find the door is lock. "Oh great, doesn't look like anypony home," said Flash as they already knocking, with no answer. Then Jack walks over to the door. "What are you doing, there is nopony home," said Flash,
"Good, we can break in without anypony complain," said Jack, as he grab his 'tools'.
"What, how?" said Flash, as he stood there confused.
"It my Special Talent, I find that I can break any lock with enough time, now go stand watch, I don't want to get caught... again," said Jack as continued to pick the lock.
"Well at least you know your talent, I never find out mine," said Flash as he stood there keeping watch.
"Impossible, you already your cutie mark, therefore you must have some talent," said Jack as he point at Flash's cutie mark. It was a yellow lightning bolt over a blue shield.
"This, I got this..... twelve years ago," said Flash, as voice slowed,
"So you got the same year you left town huh, now I am curious," said Jack, as he turn back the lock, "Hmm, it seem to be more to this lock than it appears to be, it might take me awhile longer than I thought, so we got time how about you tell me what happen," said Jack, as he continued to work. Truth was that Jack was actually stalling for time, because he was now really curious about Flash's unknown past.
"What?! NO!" said Flash, as he took offense,
"Come on Flash, we got time to waste so just tell me what happened twelve years ago," said Jack,
"Fine, but first you tell about why you are rivals with Twilight Sparkle," said Flash,
"What, fine." said Jack, as he got annoyed, "Me and Twilight, always had a dislike toward each other ever since we were in Special Magic School for the Gifted," said Jack,
"How did you get in Special Magic School for the Gifted, I though only unicorn could get into there," said Flash, as he was now curious too.
"Yeah, my father pulled some strings and got me in there, because he want me to get the best education or something like that, it didn't matter I am brilliant either way," said Jack, as he seemed proud, about getting in such a school,
"Well you do seem proud of yourself," said Flash,
"Well it was fun there, until met her, she was so beautiful, I could always get my eye lost in her red mane," said Jack, as he seem to be in a trance,
"Twilight?" said Flash, as he was now really confused, because he had always heard that Twilight Sparkle had a navy blue mane.
"Twilight, NO, NO, ew, NO," said Jack, as he was almost gagging. "Moondancer, I had a crush on this beautiful red mane Unicorn mare named, Moondancer, the only problem is that she was best friends with Twilight Sparkle," said Jack, as continued to pick the lock,
"What, you weren't friends with Twilight," said Flash,
"No, actually, I was once friends with her adopted little brother Spike, but after the accident, she stopped letting him be friends with me," said Jack,
"What kind of accident was it?" said Flash,
"Well you know how Unicorns and Alicorns aren't the only equines who can use magic, that Pegasi, and Earth ponies, can use it too, just in different forms," said Jack,
"Yeah," said Flash,
"Well I was trying to do an experiment where I could show that batpony could use magic as well, and well I got into an argument with Twilight, as she said that it could never work, and I said it could, and the experiment exploded," said Jack,
"WHAT?!" said Flash, as he was taken by surprise,
"Don't worry nopony got hurt, that is unless you count for the fact the explosion lit Twilight's mane on fire," said Jack, as finally he could no longer stall do to fact that he got the door unlock. Luckily Flash did not notice, because Jack was still curious about Flash's past.
"Was Twilight's mane put out?" said Flash,
"Yeah, it was, luckily it wasn't the first time that her mane spontaneously caught on fire, but after that she would no longer trust me around her friends, and that included Spike and Moondancer, and ever since then we been rivals," said Jack, as he opened the door.
"Wow, when did you get done?" said Flash,
"Actually I have been done for while," said Jack,
"What? But it has only been ten minutes," said Flash, as he walked to the door,
"Did I forget to say? I'm 'freakin genius'," said Jack, quoting his catchphrase, as walked in front of the door and block Flash's path.
"What are you doing? I thought we were in a hurry," said Flash, as he stood there.
"Now I have spilt my past now it's your turn," said Jack, as continued to block Flash's path,
"Fine then, The reason I left town..... is because,” Flash took a deep breathe “twelve years ago, my parents died," said Flash, as he pushed Jack out of the way. Flash walked through the doorway trying to hide his face.
"I'm sorry, what happen to them?" said Jack,
"They were murdered, by an unknown pony, with moth wings," said Flash, as tried to hid his tears,
"An unknown pony with moth wings," said Jack, as he stood there in shock, as he had never known a pony to have moth wings.
"Yes, he spoke in a strange language that to this day I can still not figure out what he said when kill them," said Flash,
"When exactly did it happen," said Jack,
"It happen the same day as the mysterious Sonic Rainboom went across the sky, and it was also the same that I receive my cutie mark, I got it by getting my baby brother to safety, while they were killed," said Flash, as they walked through house. "Now my little brother live in the orphanage in town, he was too young at the time to remember what happen, and I was too young at the time to raise my little brother myself, so I left him with the orphanage and then left town, Now the only one from here I keep in contact with is Big Macintosh, through letters, he know my pain, his parents were killed by the same pony, a half year early," said Flash, as they final reach the back room.
"I'm sorry for your loss, the truth is I know the feeling of losing a parent too, I lose my mom when I was young," said Jack. Then they noticed how dark it was getting, "We got get back," said Jack, as he took a stance,
Meanwhile Flash found something, "Hey I found something, look it a map of Canterlot" said Flash, as he pointed at a map.
"Yeah but how do we get there in time," said Flash, as he turn to Jack, not noticing the flash of light that surrounded them for a second. Flash's face turn into to shock as they were all of sudden in outskirts of Ponyville. "How did we get here," said Flash,
"You know that experiment I told you about," said Jack, as he took the stance again, and grabbed Flash again.
"Yeah the one you failed at?" said Flash, as he got worried,
"It was a teleportation spell, and I never said it 'Failed'," said Jack, as the flash of light that surrounded them, and they teleported again. After a few teleportations later, they finally arrived in Canterlot. But it was too late, for when they got there, the two pony find, that Giant Crystals were now trying to covering all of Canterlot.

Author's Note
So Jack is more than an ordinary stink-en rich batpony. And there more as we get ready for the final Chapter, Chapter 6: Crystal Canterlot, then the epilogue, so get ready, and for those wondering, yes the epilogue will have a cliffhanger that will leads to the sequel so don't skip it or you will be lost.
Chapter 6: Crystal Canterlot
The three ponies looked in shock as the Assassin was revealed to be a donkey. "Who are thou, and why are thou here?" said Luna, as she approached him.
Then the Assassin said "I am, Great Siege, and I am here to bring an end to 'his Tyranny'," to which Princess Luna instantly reacted by blasting him. But he dodge it.
"His Tyranny, shall never return," said Luna, as she tried to control her emotions. But more of her memories started to return upon hearing those words. But she push it aside to worry about the problem of the current.
"You don't know what I've seen Princess, his shadows are moving, and he will soon return, in order to stop him, my allies need power, and in order get power, this city must be harvest of all it magic," said Great Siege, as he grabbed out another gem, and use it to teleport.
"I thought you said it would stop his false magic, you were lying weren't you," said Shining Armor, as he got annoyed with the Brood Gem complete disregarding for attacking without receiving orders. "Well, are you going to answer me 'Vamp-" but before Shining Armor could finish Brood Gem had left to give chase. "Where are you going, you can't follow him, he teleported," said Shining Armor. "Foolish stallion putting the Princess in direct danger," said Shining Armor as he tried to give chase after Brood Gem.
"Stand down Captain Shining Armor, we knew Captain Brood Gem was lying," said Luna, as she began to walk over to where Great Siege was standing when they walked in.
"You knew? said Shining Armor, as he follow her to the spot.
"Of course, there is no such as false magic inhibiting liquid, he simply wanted hit this Great Siege, for no reason, and felt like lying, but still at least we haveth figure out that the is a donkey," said Luna, as she use her magic to clearly any more rubble that was covering the symbol.
"So what do we do now?" said Shining Armor, as he got there. Princess Luna eyes went into shock as she looked at the symbol, as she finally remember the spell.
"Captain, SHIELD THYSELF!!" Luna yell as she push Shining Armor far from the symbol with her magic, as he did just that. As the spell finally activated; it seem that Great Siege had managed to finish the spell, when they arrive; for the second, Princess Luna step on it, it activated, summoning Crystals throughout the room. They imprison Luna in a tower of crystals and the proceeded to carve crystal throughout Canterlot.
Flash and Jack finally arrived after several teleports, they enter Canterlot city only to find that the city was being covered in crystals. As they ran they notice several Unicorns in pain as their magic was being harvested by the Giant Crystals. "Wait Jack, we have to help them," said Flash, as he got increasingly worried. But Jack just kept running, "Jack stop their in pain," said Flash, as he pleaded to help the Unicorns in pain.
"You don't think I know that, I am not ignoring them, Moondancer is a Unicorn as well and she live in this city, so what I would really want to do right now is go save her first, but I can't, because this spell must been cast by Gando Donsan, if I can take him out then whole spell will stop," said Jack, as he was now filled with anger while still running.
Flash continued to follow him, "So do you know where he might be?" said Flash,
"Well that big tower of crystal look like a good place to start," said Jack, as pointed to the Tower of Crystal. So they headed right for it.

Shining Armor, manage to knock away enough crystal to finally find a way to the Tower of Crystal. After noticing Brood Gem was back and climbing the tower, so he using his own teleport spell to find his way up the tower. Then Jack and Flash got there and made their way up it as well.
Meanwhile Great Siege, was now standing on top the Tower of Crystal with Princess Luna was still trapped inside. "Why has thou trapped us inside this tower," Luna demanded,
"Well that's very simple, you see my allies told me to make sure that you were disabled, so you would not be problem to us, so despite what you may think of me, I still server the True Crown, and not the corrupt crown you server," said Great Siege,
"Canterlot is not corrupted," spouted Luna, as she got more angry, to the point that she started flair up her magic. Which cause the tower to shake.
While Shining Armor, Flash Sentry, Jack Nox, and Brood Gem finally reached the top of the tower. "Stop now you're surrounded," said Shining Armor.
"Forget that, he mine," said Brood Gem as he threw more of his many daggers. But Great Siege just knock them away with his Gem Blade. While Shining Armor grabbed one of the daggers and went for close combat, and swung the dagger several times. But each swing was dodged.
Great Siege saw an opening, ran and jump off the tower, as he activated his gem to control the Crystals to create a pathway as the giant crystals were head towards the center of Canterlot. "What are we going to do now?" said Flash,
"Oh great, things couldn't get any worse," said Jack, sarcastically,
"Do not worry thyselves, we are sure that our sister, will notice and help," said Luna,
Meanwhile Princess Celestia was reading a letter from Spike, not noticing the Crystals heading right for the Main Castle. Ponies run and panic as the giant crystals creep closer to the Main Castle.
"We got no time for that," said Flash, as he grabbed Jack by the shoulder, "Jack can you make it up there," said Flash,
"As long as I can see it I can get us up there," said Jack, as he took his stance.
"Then there is somewhere I want to stop at first," said Flash, as he held on. Then in flash of light they were gone.
"Oh now I have seen everything, a batpony that teleport," said Brood Gem, as he sat down. Knowing that the hunt was now pointless if somepony else was going to get in his way.
"Are you just going to sit there and not do anything," said Shining Armor, as he got confused. He never heard that the 'Vampire Bat of War' ignoring a battle. But then the two had other things to worry about, as the tower began to shake even more, that it started to fall apart. Princess Luna was using massive amounts of magic to tear the the tower apart and escape.
Upon realizing what Princess Luna was doing, Shining Armor teleported off the tower, and somewhere safe. As Luna shot out the tower with enough force to actually send a few shock waves. While Brood Gem took to the sky.

Flash and Jack arrive behind Great Siege, as he stood at the front looking at the terror he had unleashed, and admiring his work. "Gando Donsan," said Flash, as he let go of Jack. Great Siege turn and looked directly at him. "I want to know why are you doing this?" said Flash.
"Ah, I see you know my name, but it won't help you," said Great Siege, as stood proud that his plan would not fail.
"You still won’t say why you are doing this?" said Jack, as moved slowly, while apparently carrying something.
"Why am I doing this?" said Great Siege, as he grabbed his cloak, "This is why?" he said, as he revealed the truth, by pulling off his cloak.
Showing body covered in several scars. "Look at me, these wounds I received near forty years ago from fight so long in the war after war, and for what, so some bratty sister of the princess can just walk in start claiming control, My allies plan to purge all problems, so that there never be a war ever again," said Great Siege, as he turn around and pull out the Gem Blade and impaled into the giant crystal that he was standing on, as the other begin to surround the Main Castle. As he was somehow channeling all the magic into himself from the Crystal though the Gem Blade.
Meanwhile, Princess Celestia, finally put down the letter, just in time to notice the Giant Crystals. Princess Celestia and Princess Cadence flew outside to stop the Crystals. But they did not have enough power they needed one more princess. And just they were about to give up, Princess Luna came crashing in. Adding Luna's power in they were able to stop the movement of the giant crystals.
Meanwhile Jack pulled out what he had hidden, a mini cannon. He threw it to Flash, as he caught it, Flash fire it directly at Great Siege. The blast knock him away from Gem Blade and off the crystal. And with nopony wielding the Gem Blade, the magic rebound cause the magic that being it was absorbing and sent them back to the ponies that it was stolen from and the Gem Blade began to disintegrate. They did it, they won, but Great Siege was getting away.
Great Siege ran down an alley, to try and get away. Only problem was that there somepony blocking his way. A black Batpony with a silver mane, and silver and gold armor. He a cutie mark of a silver Lightning Bolt. The batpony had several badges indicating that he was very high up. In fact, standing before Great Siege was none other the highest ranking general of all generals, General Nightflare Redstar. He had finally arrived and he was now blocking Great Siege's exit.
"Well if it isn't the great General Nightflare Redstar, the ‘Red Sword of Royalty’, do what do I have to great honor of fighting you," said Great Siege,
"No personal reasons, just fact that you insulted the princess, and all who insult the princess must be put down," said Nightflare, as he took a stance.
"If you won't move then I kill you," said Great Siege, as he grabbed out his hidden blade and charged forward and sliced. But as it seemed like he had won, Great Siege fell as he was cleaved in two. The last thing he saw was General Nightflare holding out a weapon, a blood red katana.
Flash and Jack arrived at the alley only to find Great Siege dead. The General was cleaning his weapon. "Oh hello I thought I would come and help, didn’t think I would do much, but I never expect I would find the villain," said Nightflare, as the Princesses and the two captains also arrived.

Author's Note
So now the Epilogue that will lead to more sequels. But don't assume the Epilogues will be the only part of these stories that stuff for the sequels, I have dotted several hints to later sequels. But still don't skip the Epilogues, because I have planned little bonuses at the end of each one.
The Princesses arrived, "General Nightflare Redstar we see thou finally arrived, but we need him alive," said Luna, as she approached him expecting a good answer. Meanwhile nopony noticed the gems disintegrating.
"Well Princess Luna, I killed him because he insulted you, and one such as beautiful you should never be insulted, I had to defend your honor," said Nightflare, as he took a bow, "But if you think I should be punished then I will gladly take whatever punishment you see fit,"
Then Princess Celestia approached Princess Luna, and said, "Luna, I forgot to tell you about the General's Chiv-" but before Celestia could finish Luna spoke,
"Well that is very chivalrous of thou, but there will be no need for that, we are simply annoyed that we could not figure out why this Great Siege was doing this, but he was a problem so you shall not be punish, and," everypony eyes widen as she drop her Royal Canterlot Voice at the end, and spoke normal, "And I thank you for the compliment, General, and for stopping the spell, I see how you got your title of the 'Red Sword of Royalty'," said Luna, as she took a bow as well. This cause everypony except for the two, to drop their jaws, at the sight of one of the princesses actually bowing to somepony who was not even royalty.
Flash approached the princesses and said, "Actually Princess we were the ones who stop the spell,"
"Thou two stopped the Spell?" said Luna, as the Royal Canterlot Voice return. Princess Luna then approached the two, looked upon them, "Is Thou lying,"
"Actually Princess Luna they telling the truth, when I arrived the spell had already been stopped, I saw these two were indeed the ones who stopped the Spell," said Nightflare, as he stepped towards them, "And I also noticed how clever they were in stopping him, so I think we found the perfect ones for your Special Project that Princess Celestia told me the other generals about," said Nightflare, as he approached them.
"Really," said Celestia,
"What kind of Special Project," said Jack, as he got curious,
"Yes we do agree about these two, we have seen them in battle and they were quite clever, but we still need a Captain to run it, hmmm, we think Captain Shining Armor would be perfect, but we need to talk to General Iron Hoof about it first," said Luna,
"Will somepony please tell us what this Special Project is?" said Shining Armor,
"In simple terms Captain, it is a team similar to thou's sister team of friends, the Mane Six, but comprised of only a few of the best and cleverest soldiers that we can find," said Luna, "And we think we found the perfect choices, but before the team can be sent out on missions they will have to go through very tough training in areas of dangerous weather, and under very strict generals, and since thou is already here," said Luna, as she look directly at General Nightflare, "Flash Sentry and Jack Nox go to Barrack A and B for the night, and in the morning go meet with other soldiers, and General Nightflare at the train station, pack for cold, because thou two will be heading for to the mountains north of Griffinstone,"
Princess Cadence walked up to Princess Luna, and asked, "Princess Luna, what about Shining Armor," as she looked at her coltfriend with worry.
"Captain Shining Armor, will be joining them once we send word to General Iron Hoof," said Luna, as she looked at Princess Cadence. Noticing the look on Cadence's face and how it reminded it of herself in the past. "But if thou is willing to, thou can visit him every few days," said Luna, Cadence looked at Luna and smiled. Luna had felt separation before and did not want somepony else to deal with that.

After the talk Princess Luna's talk with the three ponies, they all went their separate ways. Shining Armor and Princess Cadence went for their 'late' date. And General Nightflare Redstar left with Captain Brood Gem and Jack Nox to Barrack B. The Princesses left back to the Main Castle.
While Flash headed to Barrack A, not noticing an ominous shadow standing few blocks away watching him. It was a tall pony with moth wings. As Flash reached Barrack A, the unknown pony turn away and left.
Later the body of Gando Dosan was taken to the morgue. But before an autopsy could be done. The doctor that was about to work on him, was approached by a blue earth pony in a suit. The blue earth pony presented the doctor, with a large bag of bits. And then he walked away with the body.
Then took to the body to an underground laboratory where is was presented to a dark purple batpony with a gray mane. He wore a lab coat with a hood. This hid his cutie mark. "So project Great Siege failed, how unfortunate, but how well could he use the magic gems," said the dark purple batpony.
"He used them, but it seem that the gems and even the the Gem Blade disintegrating eventually," said the blue earth pony,
"Hmmm, we will need to do more testing than before selling more of them to the buyer," said the dark purple batpony.

Yes there will be Massive Cliffhanger at the epilogue of each story that will add to the mystery.
So unknown pony with moth wings, will be a mystery villain that will show up every so often during the saga.
And the dark purple batpony will also be a mystery villain that will show up every so often during the saga.
So keep an eye out for them.
There is also other characters that will play a few roles (some big and some small) in other stories, that will have there own mystery about them that will slowly get revealed during the saga.
