Act 1 Chapter 1: Strange new world.
Equestria’s tranquil sun shone down upon Ponyville, the citizens were going about their days as they always do and unaware of what had become present in the Everfree Forest.
Deep in the neck of the forest was a young man, unconscious and lying face down. He wore a simple white short-sleeved hoodie, a pair of denim jeans and black sneakers. Adorning his head was a light brown cap that’s currently tilting upwards because of his position. The hair visible and not tucked under his cap was a dark blonde color.
His name was Evan Young.
His surroundings consisted of a dozen or so dark oak trees that carry low hanging branches, allowing very little natural light to have seeped through and warmed the forest floor. Behind Evan’s unconscious body was a large boulder.
No signs of life emanated from Evan that was until a groan escaped him. This was followed by the shaking of his head, his arms beginning to move. Pushing himself up it appears that a few blades of grass clung to his face. He took note of that and shook them off. He cracked his eyes open revealing his irises to have been an amber shade. He glanced around, before thinking aloud.
“Where am I?”
As he adjusted his cap, an idea came to mind. He dug his had in his jean pocket and removing from it was his smartphone that carries a white casing. He doubled tapped the screen causing it to spring to life. His gaze shifted to the top left corner and he cursed. A small red cross appeared with the words ‘no signal’ right next to it.
“Well I know I’m in a forest with no reception…” He trailed off upon noticing the nearest tree seemed to have the perfect amount of branches for him to climb.
“Thank heavens for rock climbing club.” He muttered before he rose into a stance and walked over to the tree. Grabbing the nearest branch he hoisted himself upwards, placing a foot on another and repeated the process until he reached the top.
“Hey, there’s a town!” He noticed, spotted a rather medieval town in the near distance.
He was about to climb down, until he placed his foot on air and was sent plummeting downwards. He hit the ground with a resounding slam.
Surprisingly, none of his bones broke, as the tree wasn’t that tall, though the feeling was present. He groaned in agony, but managed to return to stance.
“Ow, that hurt…” he remarked, rubbing his backside that took the most fall damage.
He took off in the direction he presumed was the town he saw earlier, only he was heading slightly east from it. Questions ran through his mind, rendering him unaware of the fact that he had walked into an open space. He did realize it however, but only when he walked into a wall.
He grunted in annoyance and looked to see what he had walked into. A small cottage, with several birdhouses in the front.
The occupant however must have heard Evan walking straight into the wall, because the front door to the cottage slowly opened up towards the outside.
Shits were flipped that second.
Emerging from the cottage was a butterscotch fur pegasus mare with a light pink mane and sea green eyes. And needless to say, she was startled seeing a 7ft creature standing by her door, though what happened was completely unexpected.
Evan has been known to, if startled enough, pass out. And to lay eyes on a creature he had learnt to be mythology, made him pass out and collapse on the ground like a rag doll.
The mare named Fluttershy was shocked, this creature, twice if not three times her size that seemed to have the capability to fight a bear and win, just passed out. She is renowned for being not only being an incredible caretaker, but for being really shy, but when she saw this creature pass out, she shoved those fears neck deep and came to the aid of the unconscious Evan.
Dragging him into the cottage was surprisingly easy, he was lighter than he looked. The timid mare gently laid Evan over the couch, with the aid of a big bear to adjust him over the couch comfortably.
She took note of the large gash that appeared on the back of Evan’s head and it looked like it was slowly starting to secrete crimson blood. This made Fluttershy gasp, she bolted into the kitchen before returning not a moment later with a med kit in her mouth, a small red bag with a white plus on it. Opening the bag she first removed the small bottle with the words ‘scab cleaner’.
The big bear, who originally helped Evan onto the couch, now lifted him into a sitting position, allowing Fluttershy to gently apply the scab cleaner. After cleaning the wound she removed a packet of square shaped plasters.
It was a tricky task removing the bandage from it’s sticky seal, but she managed and pasted it over the wound that stopped bleeding.
Politely nodding to the big bear, he laid Evan down, head resting on an orange pillow.
Fluttershy couldn’t help but stare at Evan, he wasn’t anything she had seen before, though his description made Fluttershy reminisce something from her past, only she couldn’t fully recall it.
It was only when there was a knock on the door that Fluttershy broke her stare from the unconscious Evan.
“Wh-Who is it?” Fluttershy said barely above whisper.
“It’s me Twilight, Fluttershy, can I come in?” She heard her friend’s voice answer on the other side. Smiling, she made her way to the door before opening it, revealing her friend, a unicorn with a purple coat, dark purple mane with a pink highlight and purple irises.
“Hello Twilight, how may I help you?” The timid pegasus mare asked her friend.
“Hey Fluttershy, I was just coming to ask youuuuuuuu…” Her voice trailed off upon seeing the unconscious body of Evan lying on the couch behind Fluttershy.
Twilight’s eyes went wide, before emitting a squeal of pure excitement, before shooting past the startled Fluttershy and immediately observing every angle of Evan’s body.
“Ohmygoshohmygoshohmygosh! An ACTUAL human!” Twilight squealed.
The final piece of the puzzle clicked for Fluttershy when she heard the words human. She recalled how when she was yet a filly and how her mother when tucking her in would tell her the story of these mysterious creatures known as humans who came through a portal. The description goes that they were kind, always there when you need them and in general just kind souls. Though as time passed the humans died of old age and slipped away into the pages of myth.
So to be in the presence of a childhood legend, was astounding.
Both mares were startled when Evan began to stir, emitting small groans in the process. This caused Fluttershy to ‘eep!’ and hide behind her mane and caused Twilight to fall off the couch.
“He’s waking up!” Twilight squealed in excitement.
Surely enough, he did. The first action he performed was placing a hand on the back of his bandaged head. This was followed up by him sitting upright.
“W-What happened…” Evan muttered.
He opened his amber eyes, and as fast as a rocket they flew open upon casting his vision towards the two mares.
Not a single word was spoken, Evan couldn’t find the right ones to say. Fluttershy was too nervous to say anything and Twilight said nothing because it looked like her excitement would make her head explode. Her eyes were starry and her smile was stretched to abnormal proportions.
The heavy blanket of silence was broken by Evan when he merely asked one question.
“Where am I?”
This was a fault on his part as the second he asked them, Twilight began to bombard Evan with questions at such a rate that he was unsure if she was speaking or not. Though the fact that she was talking alone was enough to make Evan frightened. Fluttershy had picked up on this and came to aid.
“Twilight…please c-calm down.” Fluttershy said.
This made Twilight stop her questioning, before she turned to a startled Evan with a sheepish grin.
“I’m sorry, I just got carried away.”
Evan was trying to process the events he was experiencing.
‘Okay so I am in the presence of two talking ponies, one being a unicorn and the other being a pegasus…meh, I’ve seen weirder things.’ Evan claimed mentally.
The excitement died down allowing Evan to ask his questions without being question raped by this purple unicorn.
“Where am I?” He repeated the question he had asked earlier.
“Oh, right now you are in Fluttershy’s cottage on the Eastern boarder of the town of Ponyville, Equestria.” Twilight answered.
“Equestria?” Evan said, the name ringing bells though not fully enabling him to remember.
“Yes, and if you d-don’t mind me asking, what’s your name?” Fluttershy asked. Evan smiled seeing how timid she is.
“My name is Evan Young, and I presume you are Fluttershy.” It was pretty obvious for Evan which name belongs to whom, because Fluttershy lives up to her name. He was met with nod and a smile.
He turned his attention to Twilight whom had been politely been keeping quiet in respect for the conversation between Evan and Fluttershy.
“And you are Twilight?” He asked the purple unicorn.
“Yup! Twilight Sparkle.” She answered smiling.
He nodded with a smile.
“What happened? I remember waking up in a forest, climbing a tree, seeing a town which I think was Ponyville, I fall from the tree and then blank.” He emphasized the end of his sentence by making a wiping gesture with his hand over his forehead.
“You passed out when we saw each other, apparently you walked straight into my wall.” Fluttershy managed to say without stuttering or whispering.
He smiled sheepishly, “Yeah, I tend to get lost in thought.”
“Evan.” Twilight spoke.
“Yeah?”
“Would it be okay if I could take you to my place so that I can ask you some questions?” Twilight asked.
Evan pondered, he saw no problem in that.
“I guess so, sure.” Was his answer.
“Great! Fluttershy, would you like to join us?” Twilight asked her shy friend.
“If you don’t mind.” Fluttershy responded.
“I don’t, let’s go!” Twilight declared, setting course for her library with Evan and Fluttershy in tow.

The walk through town was quite uncomfortable for Evan. The town was beautiful, a lot more cleaner than his original city of residence. Rather rustic and medieval in his eyes.
What made the walk to Twilight’s home unpleasant were the looks Evan received by the citizens. Many harbored expressions of shock and disbelief, others held looks of slight fear.
If Evan becomes resident here, then he wants to get off on a good note with the locals. That was his goal.
He was rather surprised seeing Twilight’s home, a massive oak tree house and a library, or as he called it, a treebrary. Though he was rather skeptical on the living conditions.
“You live in a tree?” He questioned Twilight, who was walking beside his right.
“Yup!” Twilight exclaimed proudly.
“What if a lightning storm were to hit, last time I checked a tree isn’t the safest place to be in the midst of a storm.”
“That’s why I have a magical lightning rod placed at the top.” Twilight countered.
Evan wasn’t fazed when Twilight brought up magic, he figured she would posses magic because she is a unicorn so this was just confirming his suspicions.
Entering the library Evan was surprised seeing the interior. Thousands of books aligned the shelves. He knew this was a library, but the one he grew up with was nothing compared to this.
“SPIKE!” Twilight called out into the library. Running down the stairs was a small purple and green dragon, this made Evan rather surprised.
“Hey Twilight you’re—Whoa, a human?!” Spike exclaimed noticing Evan’s presence.
“Hi Spike, I’m Evan.” He introduced himself, reaching his hand out for a shake.
Spike, although shocked, managed to meet Evan’s hand and give it a good shake.
“Spike, could you prepare some tea?” Twilight asked her assistant. He gave a playful salute before running into the kitchen.
Twilight led Fluttershy and Evan onto their respective seats, with Evan sitting across from them on a small stool.
“Let’s begin.” Twilight said, magically summoning her writing equipment.
