Chapters A Fluffy Hearths' Warming
Sunset shifted uncomfortably in her orange and red, tailored suit that Rarity made her earlier on. The purple haired Unicorn had insisted to make her one and that Sunset 'simply must' wear it, even when Sunset told her that it was just a simple get-together with friends.
Sunset juggled the poorly-wrapped gift in her hooves. I have got to get used to not having hands she thought to herself. The wait was killing Sunset; seriously, where was Twilight?
Her best friends, Diamond Dust and Thunder Lane sat by by her, all three were under a huge, beautiful, sparkling Harth's Warming Tree in Ponyville's Town Centre. Diamond plunked her hoof on the red Alicorns' shoulder. "Stop worrying. I'm sure your girlfriend will show up soon."
Sunset removed the Pegasus's hoof. "She's not my girlfriend." Yet.
Diamond laughed and peered up at the star on the massive Hearth's Warming tree. She smiled warmly. "That's a nice touch."
"What?" Sunset and Thunder followed Diamond's gaze and chuckled. Someone – probably Pinkie Pie – had drawn a smiley face on the star that sat on the very top of the tree. "Yeah, that is a nice touch." Sunset grinned as she turned to her friends.
They both were gone.
"Diamond? Thunder!? Why you little…" Sunset said from behind clenched teeth.
"Sunset!" a sweet voice called from nearby.
She turned to spy Twilight walking towards her, a cute smile was on Twilight's face. She had two blue stars behind her right ear and the light of the tree reflected on Twilight to define every feature on her body, from her vibrant eyes to her sparkling Cutie-mark.
"Wow…" Sunset marveled. "You look...amazing."
"Thanks," Twilight smiled, hiding her blush. She produced a perfectly-wrapped box from behind her. "Happy Harth's Warming, Sunset." Twilight handed it to Sunset.
She smiled and handed her present to Twilight. "Happy Harth's Warming, Twilight."
Twilight giggled at the present. "Let me guess; you wrapped this yourself?"
Sunset flushed and nodded with fake pride. "Didn't even need magic."
"I can see that." The pair both giggled; "Thank you." She nodded to Sunset. "Open yours first."
Sunset smiled back and carefully opened the box with her magic. It contained a beautiful crystal Phoenix with a curved tail. The Phoenix seemed to have six different shades of orange spanned and mixed with the shades of red and yellow it also contained, making it look as if the sunset itself was trapped inside. It had an almost golden sparkle and the curve in the tail allowed Sunset to place the gem behind her ear." Sunset grinned at Twilight. "Wow, this is so beautiful Twilight, Thank you so much."
Twilight blushed. "You're welcome."
"Open yours."
Twilight poked her tongue out in concentration and tore off the paper using her magic. Inside was a box, which she opened. Inside, encased in bubble wrap, were two books, one of human history and another of human anatomy, each were about seven inches thick, both were hardcover and the inside writing was in small print with diagrams, as much information as possible was packed into those books. Twilight couldn't escape the huge smile that was successfully invading her face."OhmygoshOhmygoshOmygosh!"
"I bought it from the other world, The girls also left you a note." Sunset told her, referring to the mirror.
Twilight opened the first page to see the note Sunset must've meant and a picture of all of her friends in the other world with Sunset Shimmer Merry Christmas! We hope to see you soon. Love: your friends.
A goofy grin fell on Sunset's lips as she kissed the purple Princess back. Oh boy. She kissed me. She kissed me! She's kissing me!!!!
Thunder and Diamond were hiding behind the Harth's Warming tree. "About damn time," Thunder murmured with a grin causing Diamond to laugh.
"I couldn't agree more."
A Fluffy Hearths' Warming
Outside, Soarin, Rainbow, Rumble and Scootaloo were playing in the snow. Rumble and Scoot were hiding behind snow wall, heavily guarded by a snowman Rumble had made himself. He'd named it "Snow-Soarin" after his big brother, who was currently dating Rainbow Dash. The reason why Rumble was hiding behind Snow-Soarin?
Because this was a snowball war....No, this was THE Snowball War.
Now, Soarin and Rainbow may both be eighteen years old, but they loved messing around in the snow with their little siblings.
A snowball hit Rainbow on the back of her neck. She wheeled to see a grinning Soarin.
"Soarin!" she shouted even as she blushed. "We're on the same team!"
"Sorry Dash," he apologized, but he was still smirking. "I couldn't resist."
Rainbow made some show of getting mad. "You're gonna get it!" She tackled him to the ground. When they landed, they started laughing. Soarin stopped laughing and gazed up into her eyes.
"What?" Rainbow asked him.
His response was to reach up and kiss her.
She couldn't help but hum against his lips and put her hoofs on the snow on either side of his head. His hoof caressed her cheek and ran through her mane as he deepened the kiss. Eventually they separated, breathing hard and blushing.
Rainbow felt a massive, freezing pile of snow land on her back. She jumped up and squaked in shock.
Rumble and Scoots were both roaring with laughter. "Gotcha!" Scootaloo laughed as she and Rumble bolted for it.
"Hey come back here!" Rainbow shouted. They both picked up a bucket of snow and raced after their siblings.

Octavia hated this type party. She never understood the point of them. Why waste time acting like fools in a loud room when ponies could be enjoying a more refined, more elegant ball with more decent music.
"Octavia!" a Stallion's voice called. The brunette looked up to see a blue-maned Stallion of his own age walking towards her. He had a dog balloon as a cutie mark. "You oughta lighten up a little, Oct."
"And why should I feel the need to do that Party Favor?"
Favor rolled his eyes. "Fine, fine, just…fantasize about your Chello, why don't you?" He grabbed a drink from a nearby table with his magic and took a sip. "Well, I'm gonna go look for Sugar Belle. I think it's about time I asked her out, don't you?"
Octavia did not reply.
Favor smiled when he saw a pretty mare with a spiked mane and dark shades walking towards them. "Silent distraction at 12 o'clock." He walked away, searching for Sugar Belle.
The blue maned mare stopped in front of him and and offered a kind smile to Octavia causing her to blush.
Octavia smiled back. "Hello Vinyl." She mumbled even though she expected no reply.
Vinyl nodded back and took a seat next to Octavia, took her headphones off and placed them on Octavia. Octavia felt bliss upon finally hearing decent music
"Thank you" She told Vinyl as she leaned into the DJ.
Vinyl smiled and rested her head on top of Octavia's.
"Vinyl?" Octavia asked cautiously causing the spiked unicorn to lift her head off of Octavia's and nod to let her know she's listening.
"Why do you enjoy places like this? Wouldn't something more.....sophisticated be more appropriate for such a holiday? This is Harth's Warming eve! Not some birthday party."
Vinyl thought for a moment and then shrugged as she looked out towards the dancing crowd. Vinyl stood up and started to walk towards the exit, motioning for Octavia to follow her. They exited the party to the glowing streets full of lights and ponies chatting and selling Harth's Warming eve merchandise. As they walked the streets of Ponyville Octavia saw a silver bracelet with a diamond treble clef in the middle.
"I have been saving for months and I was hoping to buy it for myself for Harth's Warming, but it's just too expensive" Octavia frowned, "One thousand bit's is simply too much."
Vinyl frowned and nudged her marefriend. Octavia turned to see Vinyl holding a box to her with her magic. Octavia gave her a confused look and took the box, she opened it to see a music box that put any bracelet to shame. It was solid wood and it was encased with silver, on top of it had a stave with notes on it, the stave was curing to make an 'S' shape and under it there was writing that read: Your voice is the music to my ears, and the melody in my heart.
Octavia couldn't help but let tears well up in her eyes and she kissed Vinyl in happiness. "I love you Vinyl."
"I love you too." a quiet whisper replied to her, Octavia finally got her reply.
A Fluffy Hearths' Warming
The pink-maned Alicorn curled herself up in the tender embrace of the Blue-maned unicorn Stallion, who was rambling to his sister; Twilight that was cuddled up next to Sunset while Twilight's parents were having a nap.
"I always love Harth's Warming ," the male Unicorn was saying. "Mainly because I'm all around!" He laughed at his own joke.
His sister groaned in exasperation and slammed her hoof into her forehead; Sunset looked at her hooves, not getting the joke. "Shining, that's the worst joke I've ever heard. I'm a scientist, I'm a master of bad jokes."
"Oh, come on, Twily" Shining appealed, "My jokes aren't that bad." He looked Cadence. "Are they Cadence?"
She thought about it, then answered, "Actually, I agree with Twilight. Your jokes suck."
Shining groaned and dropped his head. "And I used to be the best joke teller ever."
Cadence snorted and Twilight laughed "You wish big brother, you've never told a good joke."
The Stallion's head shot up again. "Hey, so I am funny!"
Twilight chuckled as Sunset rested her head on Twilight's back "Only when you're suffering, brother."
Cadence giggled. "Relax, Shining. Your complete lack of ability to make people laugh doesn't make you any less attractive to me." She reared up and kissed him.
Shining kissed back greedily.
"Hey, hey, hey, take it easy there!" Sunset protested.
They ignored her.
"Come on, you're mentally scarring us."
At that, they broke off and laughed. Sunset grinned.
Clearly, of the four of them, Sunset was the funny one.
