A grin spread over Discord's face. He had it. The element was right there. He could do whatever he wanted. Three crystal balloons levitated over a long, clear pedestal with light illuminating it through the darkness of the hall. "Little Pinkie Pie..." He smiled and clutched the crystals in his hands, rubbing his thumb over them softly, just as he turned and began to run from the hall.
Pinkie Pie shot awake and breathed heavily. "Daddy," she screamed and clutched onto her stuffed alligator. "I need you!"
After a few minutes the sound of loud, creaking footsteps filled the hallway. "He had to go deliver a cake at the last minute," Mrs. Cake sighed out, opening the door with frizzy, pink hair. "What do you need?"
"Nothing," she whispered out and lied back down in her bed, finger combing her long, pink hair. "I just had a bad dream."
"What was it about, Pinkie?" The overweight woman traveled to the edge of her bed and sat next to her long, thin body. Her clammy, pink hands rubbed over her back and Pinkie stared at her hand and stuffed animal. "It won't go away if you don't tell me how to fix it."
"I just had a dream about clowns. That's all..." She smiled solemnly at the woman and grasped her hand, coiling up in a ball.
"The creepy ones?"
"Yeah."
"With claws and sharp teeth, like the ones that tried to scare you on Halloween, but Daddy sprayed them with a water gun?"
"Yep," she sighed through a soft laugh, remembering the scenario.
"Well, we won't let you get hurt by the clowns. How about we get up in the morning and make some muffins, then we can go to the park with your friends?"
"I'd like that." Pinkie hugged the woman goodnight and let her leave, listening to the door shut and her footsteps disappear. But something hurt her chest. She held onto it and shuttered, biting her lip. Maybe it would be better by the next day.

"I can't do it, Spike." Twilight Sparkle lied her head on her desk and stared at the golden, shimmering crown, rubbing her thumb over the purple star embedded into it. "I can't figure out why it's so cold."
"Maybe you need to put it on your pillow?"
"No, Spike, you don't understand. When our charms are cold, that means that there's something wrong with one of us without the other's knowing. That means that I have to try to help one of us, but I don't know who it is." She sighed and smiled sadly at Spike, leaning over to tussle up his green, spiked up hair. "Maybe I can stop worrying about it tonight. Come on, lets go to bed. I'm sure it may be solved by the morning, right?"
"Yeah," he squealed, excited about her walking with him. He didn't like to admit it, but Twilight knew that his biggest fear was to walk up the creaking, wooden steps alone in the darkness of night. "Will you tell me a bedtime story?"
"Of course I will, Spike." She clutched his much smaller hand and walked down the carpeted hall, glancing up at the eerie reflection of the cuckoo clock and wooden walls, with her reflection and Spike as well. The boy began to hurry up and she walked quickly with him all the way up the staircase, looking back down at the mirror.
She knew what she had to do. "Twilight, please don't go back downstairs."
"I need to do something after I tuck you in," she mumbled and took him to his bedroom, putting him in bed. "Now, what kind of story do you want me to tell?"
"The one about you and Pinkie Pie when you went to the fair and she-"
"Fine," Twilight sighed, thinking of the horrible time in her life when her friend had almost broken their friendship. At least she had won, though.
And anybody knew that nobody could beat Bulk Biceps. Especially a little teenage girl.

Maud slept soundly and coiled up in her bed. During the night, it had turned much colder, and she heard soft voices as she woke up. "What if she wakes up?"
"Then she wakes up, Rarity, there's no stopping something like that-"
"What are you guys doing in my bedroom." A shrill squeal filled the room and she saw a tall figure running to the window, but a hand snatched her back.
"We have to show you something," a Southern accent muttered and let go of the prissy girl, clothed in a white, plush bathrobe. Maud stared at her own white tee shirt and bunny slippers and she sighed, pursing her lips a bit.
"Show me what. I want to sleep."
"Just come on, Maud, your sister's hurt." Maud pushed the two out of the way and made a mad dash down the hall. Her straight across bangs pressed against her forehead and she skidded to the door, decorated with stickers and a sign that read out her name. "Slow down, will you?" She pushed her ear against the door and tried to listen in, jiggling the locked door. Before Maud even knew what she was doing, she kicked the door open and listened to snores fill the room, despite the loud noise.
She stared at the mass of hot pink curls and frowned when she saw her sister fast asleep in her bed, holding her pillows and stuffed alligator in her arms. "How is-"
"Discord got a hold of her elemental stone and it'll happen after midnight, you hear?" But before she could agree to watch out for the girl, she watched them leave down the stairs and out of the house.
"Alright, Pinkie," she sighed and sat at the foot of the bed, rubbing her back as she slowly dozed off. "Let's see what you can do."
