Celestia's sun was starting to set as Rainbow Dash arrived at her house. As she made her way upstairs to her bedroom, she grabs her necklace and holds it in her hand for a bit, the necklace is silver with a sapphire jewel that seems to hold a galaxy in it. I really wish I had more than just this and a set of keys, I don't even know what they're for. Rainbow thought, Why did you send me away, why?
Her parents left at an orphanage in Cloudsdale when she was a year old. 5 years later, she received a small package containing the mementoes with no return address. She held on to them ever sense then. She heads for her bedroom, walks over to her bedside and opens the top drawer. She reads the note that came with the package.
'Rainbow Dash. My name doesn't matter, what's in the package does. These are a couple of items from your parents. The necklace is from your mother and the keys are from your father. Please hold onto them, if not for me or you then at least for them. The keys will unlock something, you just have to find it when your older. A friend.'
Rainbow sighed, its been 15 years since she received that package and she's looked everywhere she can think of. And because of this, she has to take naps in between work, working out and searching for whatever these keys unlock.
She slumped onto her bed and thought of the long day of work she had and having to deal with another one of Twilights spells gone awry. The keys have got to unlock something. Should I tell the others? No. I don't want to have them worry about me, or drive Twilight crazy trying to figure out the keys. She thought as she drifted off into sleep.
The next morning, Rainbow woke up with some kind of nudging feeling near her left leg. She opened her eyes to see Tank trying to wake her up and succeeded. "Morning Tank" Rainbow said. "You hungry?" Tank shook his head and looked toward the calendar. Rainbow looked over and her eyes widened. 'Meeting at Twi's. 8:30 A.M.' it said. She quickly looked at the time, the clock said 8:04 A.M. CRAP! I'm goanna be late! Rainbow thought. She quickly changed into blue jeans and a sky blue shirt with the wonderbolts insignia on it. She quickly grabbed the keys, headed to the balcony and took off.
Rainbow landed in front of Twilight's new castle. She still couldn't get over the fact that this came from such a small box, and that was 6 months ago. She headed for the throne room, the usual meeting place. As she walked in, she saw Applejack, Pinkie pie, Spike and Twilight already there in their respective thrones, casually chatting. Guess I'm not late. Rainbow thought. "Hey girls."she said "Where's Flutters and Rarity?"
"Rarity's currently finishing up an order and Fluttershy is in the other room making some tea for everyone" Twilight said. she was wearing a button up pale green shirt and a purple skirt with her cutie mark on it. A six pointed purple star with 5 small grey ones around it.
Spike was currently sitting in his throne besides Twilight's. Right now he's wearing blue jeans and a grey hoodie with a green shirt underneath. Spike has had a growth spurt during his 18th birthday 2 years ago. Spike has gained some muscle, but it's more lean muscle.
As Rainbow dash sat down in her throne, Fluttershy came in with a tray with six teacups, a teapot, and a few cookies on plate. She's wearing her usual green sweater and grey skirt. She started serving everyone in the room and left the tray on Rarity's side of the round table in case she wanted some.
As she sat down Applejack asked " What's taken that mare so long?" Just as she says that, Rarity enters the room.
"Sorry I took so long darlings, some of the stitches came loose as I was working." she said, wearing a purple blouse and blue shorts. As she headed over to her throne, she winked at the dragon, which didn't go unnoticed by him. He immediately went back to reading his comic, hoping nopony would see his blush. Ever since Spike's birthday, Rarity can't get her mind off of him, no matter what she does. I love you Spike, you're the perfect gentlestallion a lady could ask for. she thought. I just wish I had the courage to say it to you. Just because she was the element of generosity, doesn't mean she doesn't have trouble sharing her feelings.
Spike has gotten better control of his feelings for Rarity over the years. since they moved to ponyville. Needless to say, he burnt that shirt with Rarity's face in the middle of a heart 3 months after he got it.
"Well now that everypony's here, lets get started". Twilight said. They used meetings as a way to know what they're going to do for the week. And when they're available during the week. Though one question was brought that Rainbow didn't want to hear.
"Rainbow, I've been meaning to ask you. Where did you get that necklace?" Rarity asked. Rainbow stiffened
With Aj here, I can't lie but I can't tell them the whole story about it. Rainbow thought.
"Well ya see, a friend gave it to me a long time ago" She said. It's not the whole truth but hopfully that'll stop her from asking. she thought.
"Hmm. Quite an interesting jewel. May I see it?" Rarity asked.
Spoke too soon Rainbow thought" Well ok but be careful with it." she said as she took off the necklace and Rarity took it in her magic.
"I've never seen a jewel quite like this!" She exclaimed as she examined the jewel "Your friend must have very exquisite tastes."
"Thanks. Can I have it back now?" Rainbow asked.
"I'd like to take a look at it though." Twilight said. But before Rarity could hand it over, all of their cutie marks lit up. And for some strange reason, started circling Rainbow dash's cutie mark and the map zoomed into Canterlot mountain and started floating above a point at the base on the other side of the mountain opposite of the capital's location.
"Why would the map want you girls to head there? There doesn't seem to be anything." Spike said " Also, why are your cutie marks circling Rainbow's?"
"I don't know, but if the map wants us to go there, then that where were going. Come on girls" Twilight said as Rarity gave Rainbow back her necklace. As they all stared leaving the room
Spike shouted "Hey, wait for me!" as he leaped out of his seat, tossed his comic onto it and sprinted to catch up with the girls.
When the doors shut, the view switches to the far top right corner of the room. The view gets a little darker and fuzzy. the viewpoint backs up to reveal a monitor on a large console with other screens showing data, Rainbow's house and a viewpoint from her necklace.
"They're heading out" one voice said
"Looks like where her parents took my old garage" another voice said
"Then that's where we're heading too." said the first voice said, walking towards what looks like a pilot seat.

The girls and Spike started their trek after gathering the supplies they needed and getting enough food for their pets, considering it'll be a few days before they get there. None of the girls minded that Spike was coming with them, especially Rarity with what happened 2 weeks ago.
"Thank you again for helping carry all my materials darling." Rarity said to Spike. who is wearing a darker white dress
that complemented her figure.
"Nng. No problem Rarity." the dragon said. He is wearing green shorts and a purple shirt with green flame on it that makes it look like the lower half of his body is on fire. He's also carrying so many fabric rolls that they pile up to his chin. Hang in there Spike. He thought We're almost there.
As they came around the corner, they saw that was some construction going on the road." Oh dear. I'm afraid well have to take a detour
After a minute of walking, they found themselves in an ally, a group of 3 stallions and 2 mares blocked their path. both mares were earth ponies, 2 of the stallions were pegasi, and the last one was a unicorn. The unicorn strutted up to Rarity and Spike with a smug look on his face. He's wearing yellow pants and a black tank top, his fur was dark green and had an orange mane that was slicked down. "Well that's a pretty nice dress you have," He said with a Manehatten accent " Who are you?"
Unknowing of his intentions, Rarity answered" Well I'm Rarity and I made this dress myself darling. Speaking of which, you could use some new clothes yourself. Shall we head to my boutique and get your measurements?"
The stallions smug grew and said "Sure, and maybe we can have some 'fun' while were there"
Rarity blushed and yelled" Why I never met su-"
"Just ignore them," Spike interrupted "They're not worth the trouble." as he walked past the stallion. He was about to past the group when one of the two mares tripped him while the other shoved him, causing the dragon to fall over and scattering the fabrics.
"Spikey-Wikey!" Rarity yelled as he ran over to him. Meanwhile the 5 were laughing at Spike's nickname.
"That's what you call him?!"
"What a loser!"
"Freak!"
They continued laughing while Rarity checked the downed dragon to see if he was ok. When she was sure he was fine, the white mare turned to the gang and yelled" you brutes! He did nothing to you!"
"Rarity," Said unicorn turned and saw that the drake was getting up and said "like I said, they're not worth the trouble, now could you help me gather everything?" and started to grab all the materials. Just as the white unicorn was about to say something, the green stallion grabbed her by the wrist tightly. "You're not going anywhere," He said" not until I had my 'fun'." Spike saw this and is trying to think of a way that didn't hurt anypony.
" I will do no such thing!" she yelled" Now let me go!" and proceeded to pound his chest but had ill effect. The stallion growled and slapped Rarity across the face"You'll do as I say if you value your life!". Both her and Spike froze. "Now-" he said but was interrupted when a clawed hand grabbed his wrist.
"Remember how I said you weren't worth my time? Well now you ARE!" The drake shouted as he twisted the stallions right arm. He broke the stallion's wrist and he screamed, forcing him to let go of Rarity. The green stallion staggered back and shouted" kill him!" As soon a he said that, one of the pegasi took to the air while the other charged at the dragon. He saw this and dodged the Pegasus that almost tackled him and grabbed his left arm and leg, then proceeded to use his momentum against the flyer and throw him at his airborne comrade who was charging at Spike. They butted heads and proceeded to fall to the ground, knocked out.
As soon as Spike turned toward the two mares of the gang, one almost hit the drake directly in the face, he managed to duck in time. When the mare tried to hit him again, he blocked her hand and punched her straight in the stomach. She was unprepared for the force and bent over, Spike used this opportunity and slammed her head against the ground and she laid there, unconscious.
The other mare grabbed a nearby pole and charged at Spike with it. He ducked under one swing and another then head butted the mare in the muzzle and dropped the pole in the process. Spike grabbed the pole went for an overhead swing, she was still recoiling from the last hit and had no time to dodge. As the pole came down with a loud 'CRACK', it broke and the mare was the ground, passed out and bleeding from blunt force trauma.
Spike dropped the broken pole and stood there, panting. When suddenly Rarity screamed" Spike!" The drake whirled around and saw that the green colored unicorn had his arm around Rarity's neck.
" Don't move or I'll shoot!" He said as he pulled out a flintlock and aimed it at the mare's head. the dragon tensed up.
The stallion says" Here's what's going to happen, I'm going have my fun with her and you're going to die!" He pointed his gun at the drake and-
BANG
. . .
Time seamed to stand still.
. . .
All 3 were frozen stiff
. . .
Then something fell off of Spike, it was the bullet. Spike clutched his chest in pain and the stallion just stood there, gawking. "How are you still alive!" he shouted. Rarity used this moment to escape from his grasp.
Spike said " There's something you should know about dragons." he rushed forward, grabbed the gun from him. "Our skin is as tough as steel!" The drake shouted as he proceeded to uppercut the unicorn. he flew back, coughing up blood, and landed on the ground with a THUD, knocked out and with blood pooling form his mouth.
Rarity rushed forward and asked Spike" Are you alright darling?"
He answered with "I'm fine" while still clutching his chest where the bullet hit. Applejack came running around the corner a minute later.
"Ah heard gunfire! Wha-. . . Oh" When she looked around, she saw that most of the gang were out cold. The farm mare walked up the two still standing and asked" What the hay happened?"
"That guy over there" Spike said pointing to the downed unicorn. "wanted to have some 'fun' with Rarity as he called it. Grrr, if anypony try's that again, I'll damn them to hell before they can even blink!" As he said this, the white mare found herself blushing and stared at Spike.
He risked his own life for mine and said he'd protect me! she thought.No gentlestallion has done that for me.
"you two stay here," AJ said "I'll go git help." The orange mare started running towards the Hospital. Leaving the dragon and a blushing unicorn behind.
When you turned eighteen, I just thought it was puppy love. Now I know you're the perfect one for me. You're willing to sacrifice your own life for me, and there's nothing more generous than that. Rarity thought as the ponies of harmony and the dragon made their way to the mountain.
